You can post comments on Edwin Fischer's facebook page if you wish. Dorothy his daughter is monitoring his facebook page and his son in law (married to Ed's daughter who passed away last year has just posted some pictures of him there).

I think I met BigD the first night he came to seniornet chat. Thats a long time ago and he will, along with all the others who came to seniornet chat and then seniors and friends chat are missed very much. Our memories are filled with wonderful people we've met at both places. A big thank you to the volunteers who keep this site working for all of us.

My amily has currently more than 2 dozen men and women in the armed forces. Throughout the years many of my family members have served as enlisted and as drafted. None of them has ever regreted their service to the USA or Canada. Its a choice to be proud or regret.

Choice , well dependent upon your love of country , and the dodgers as you call them is unknown if fact, and we Americans stand Strong , Proud regardless of opinions.

I would never fault a man with children who enlisted to help protect them from the horrors practiced in other parts of the world. Give up your Social Security checks, VA benefits, and whatever else you get in the way of aid. That'll teach the government how bitter you are.
December 12, 2014, 04:33:54 PM
voluntary enlistment is an individuals choice and some would say irresponsible with dependents.Being drafted when other citizens avoid it by having kids is unfair or by using other dodges like going to grad school--any wonder US govt is so detested by so many?
