Jack, halkel, pat howe, Sirley, Vanilla, Thanks you so much for your comments!

Jack, The first photo of the Zinnia is a little damaged, and poor. The photos below are beautiful. Jessie and Zoe are always lovable.

edge, I visited Neuschwanstein Castle with my parent about 20 years ago. It is a very impressive castle.
I also took  the photos of Neuschwanstein Castle, and they are in my house in Yokohama.

Sachiko you are right the first Zinia was damaged, but it caught my eye, I was taken with the way the damage was arranged about the same around the blossom.

Roger glad you hung in there and got those two shots posted, they are both outstanding.

Shirley think you and Joy have done a good job expressing the joy of being alone, at times.   I too miss the companionship but surprising what having my two along helps.  I often think how great it would be to have my Shirley along, but find confort in talking to my two.     On the grooming, had the same groomer do both.  Jessie has much more hair, and feathers, but Zoe is catching up.    I keep them on flea medication, and while we have squirrels and rabbits have not seen a flea on either of them for years.   Years back with my previous Golden fleas were a continuing problem, and was unable to eliminate.  Now I do not even use chemical spray in my back yard.

Jerry, how about 3 & 4?   :2funny:   Long story and very good reason for each one.

Marvelous photos, Roger.... were you in a balloon when taking those?  Love the angle of each shot.

Glad you don't have to spray the yard, Jack, that stuff on the neck worked great on the cat when she went in & out.  Our son's dog, rescued when a neighbor was moving and couldn't take, developed cancer in her snout.  We all figured it was from her early years running through the wheat fields chasing jack rabbits.  Those fields get sprayed so much there is no doubt in my mind the ground is contaminated.  I've always had a dog or bird that traveled with me to talk to and do miss "conversations" with them.

I see all of these flower shots posted and I went out in the back yard and shot this Mexican Bird of  Paradise.  Our yard has vinca, lantana, M B of P , bourganvillea( not sure of the spelling) and Rose of Sharon with some dying rosebushes that will not bloom until November, but hopefully will live.

Pretty plant, Roger..... is that gravel surrounding it?  We put down black plastic before the "creek gravel".... then next time put down more black plastic before putting down the cedar chips.... nothing keeps the Bermuda grass & weeds out.  I hate having to use sprays because of the birds, but guess it will be the next, I've lost control.

Shirley, if you can do the weeds one by one, I would spray and put a bucket over the top till the spray lost its' potency, that way the birds would not be harmed, and you could easily kill the blasted weeds.

Rose, I still am unable to explain why with two large dogs I have not seen a flea on them or in the house for at least 5 years.  I use Frontline on them and that does the trick for those they may come in contact with. I believe with the two of them outside most of the day the squirrels, rabbits and neighbor cats avoid my yard.    My previous golden had a flea problem and in turn we did,  with them coming into the home.  I was curious and googled, coming up with a decent write up on how to rid the house.  http://homebuying.about.com/od/sellingahouse/qt/Getridoffleas.htm

No photos today got a new counter top and sink so now need to paint the walls. Small kitchen and put two coats of paint on the ceiling, each coat took about 30minutes, but spent the day putting masking tape around the doors and cabinets.  Had a roll of 60 yards no waste and used the entire roll had to buy a second.  Should be a snap finishing tomorrow.

Know this has nothing to do with photos, but am sure you get the picture.

Roseda, those fleas can multiply inside the house if you bring them in.  We have sand fleas that can bite like the black ones... best bet is to spray the pant legs if you go out... or if you have kerosene or coal oil (is it the same thing?), put some on a rag & wipe around your ankles.... either way you need to wash it off when you get in.  So far my B-1 has kept them from wanting to "be near" me.... except for those chiggers I found in MO.

June, this Bermuda grass grows underground, under plastic and under concrete.  The lilies look nice until about time to bloom and the grass takes over, the runners can be a yard long under the tiger lily plants.  I've moved as many of the tiger lilies to the river bank as I had energy last few years... but you know how they multiply and spread.  I hate to kill them but don't think I have the energy to dig up the whole patch to take down.  They are wonderful for holding the bank in.  There's lots of what looks like Bermuda grass on the bank, too... not sure if it is a native grass or planted by the "park department" along the river, it's good down there.  :thumb:  Right now the sidewalk to our front door needs both sides overhauled, kill all vegetation & put down more black plastic & cover with rock!

Jack, that's a big job... we need to do that "someday".... Bet you'll be sleepy tonight, too!

Touch Wood, we haven't had a problem with fleas, even when we had three Bichons at one time. I bathe them regulary, like once  weekly.

Sachiko, your vegetables look so good. Winter here so all we have  growing are Siver Beet and Beetroot and they are very slow. No Broadbeans this year, they are my favourites but we forgot to plant them at the right time.

Night all from NZ. :)

Sachiko, your vegetables look very good, your hubby obviously has a knack to growing them well. Alas I have had no luck this year with my raised bed salad veg, I used a good quality compost soil, and organic veg seed, but very disappointed with my beetroot and never seem to have luck with my spring onions, only my mixed lettuce has done well.

Edge, beautiful flowered bush, I don't think I have ever seen that before.

Sato for the last two weeks we have experienced very hot weather 27-30c, but my veg raised bed is positioned almost under trees, we have a small garden so cant really be moved any where else, maybe its too shaded and the sun is just not reaching them, we may have to cut back some branches this year or maybe leave now and trim for next years crop.

carolenz, Thank you very much. Siver Beet and Beetroot has not been planted though my husband plants the radish. The season of the broad bean passed in Japan. This year, a lot of broad beans were able to be gathered. I only had to be sent them to you.

Vanilla, Thank you very much and I also think so. Mixed lettuce was able to be done well, and it was good.

Japan is the rainy season now, the temperature is also high, and the vegetable grows up well.

Jack wv    i have a very bad back, and after reading what you are going to be doing, my back hurt worse.  :smitten:

Thank you all for the kind word on my Mexican Bird of Paradise.  They are all over our area here.

Sachiko,  those veggies look sooooo good.  We eat lots of them , but we have to purchase them in the grocery store here.  This time of year  we have nothing growing in gardens that I know of, but some people manage tomatoes on their patios.  I grill a lot of vegetables on my gas grill.  Egg plant, corn, peppers, onions etc.

You folks got to stop talking about fleas.  You got me scatching.  aaaagh.   Post a picture.

Oh, my goodness, Sachiko!  What beautiful photos of your fresh veggies.  You husband must have a green thumb to raise such a variety of them.  I plan to go to the Farmer's Market in the morning to see if anything is actually grown here yet.  Most of the vendors buy from larger dealers that raise in green houses or buy in other states.  Last time I went I came home empty handed.  My mouth is watering at the thought of your next meal!

Tisie, in our area it seems Bermuda grass is the heartiest thing to grow, and it will take over a lovely lawn in no time at all, so we just give in to it. I am surprised though that it grows through the plastic, rock and wood chips. Yours may be a more hearty type because you do get summer rains, where here a summer rain is very, very rare. So..we just let the bermuda take over, keep it mowed short, and then in winter it goes dormant and we have brown lawns.

Jack..when painting those ceilings keep your cell phone handy, in case of emergency. When I shower, I put my cell phone within reach in case I fall, even though we have alarm pulls, I depend on that cell phone..it is always in my pocket during the day, and by my bed at night. Gives one a nice feeling of security.

pat howe, edge, shirley, Thanks a lot for your comments.

My husband is raising many kinds of vegetables little by little. Though I did not post the photos because the photos of those vegetables is not necessarily beautiful.
There are vegetables that my husband raised. Onion and potato that harvest ends, and carrot thinned out.
The onions are hung under the eaves, and the potatoes are preserved in the box without washing.

JuneDrabek   I keep the cell phone in my pocket, the only complaint is when it vibrates prior to ringing it startles me :)
You are right in thinking that we should have a phone or other system at hand in case of an accident.

Painted and lots of masking all day but 72 and beautiful evening so had to pack up my two for a walk.  Posting a shot of the shadows along the path to the mansion, and one of two young deer spotted on the drive out of the park.

Do you know any other good URLs of the song?
And I want to know why  "Tennessee" was cited as a part of the title of the song.   Is there any place related to the song in Tennessee, like the Bridges of Madison County?
