Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

If it doesn’t show any more updates, your Ipad may not be able to download them.  I get the updates there in settings, too.

Ckick check for updates again, maybe, and see if you’re as up to date as you can be.

jackwv

JeanneP it may be the age, I just uploaded to 11.2.6

JeanneP

Earlier this week we reported that the newly released iOS 9.3 update was bricking older iOS devices, including the iPad 2. Now, Apple has confirmed that there are issues with the iOS 9.3 update for older iOS devices and that it is pulling the update for select devices.
My IPad will not go past 9.3.5 update is it because 5 years old?

Looks like it is now to old...

JeanneP

I doubt I will be replacing it this year. Think will buy a new Desktop first.
I use the IPad daily but have enough Apps and books on it . Does all I need it to do.  Will buy another one though later

jackwv

Jeanne P I was able to update the other day.  Mine is the Ipad air and purchased Dec 2014.   I have been told older units may not take future updates.

I am with you on the pad, handy at times but spend my time on the desktop, prefer it to even a laptop.

Cottoncandy

Ok...I need help..I downloaded a software yesterday on mi Apple IPAD...a security software...NOW..I cant log into my IPAD....it says  choose a network..when I click on Bullard..its asking for Bullard password..what are they asking me for?? I have tried many..not the right one..when I highlight Bullard..on wifi..it want connect...wisheed I hadnt did the update...anyone care to advise me as what to do..thanks Cottoncandy

jane

Darlene...is Bullard the name of your wifi network?  It sounds as if it is and it wants your wifi password.

Cottoncandy

Jane..I tried my wifi pword....that didnt do it..I get the message unable to join Bullard network..I know the problems must be from the update I downloaded yesterday..CC..Its  nevver ask me to join a network before.

JeanneP

I have never tried to download any Security on my IPad. I always thought that Apple already had it on there. I don't play with downloading any thing on it. Do different Apps that they list , Books that kind of thing.

CC, try going to settings, then wifi, it may be asking you to join another network.   Make sure your wifi is on and you should have a home one normally used.

I often go to my desktop and google then keep suggestions on the desktop while I work on pad.

Cottoncandy

Jack..thats what it seems....my wifi button is green and under it..has choose a network..under it is Bullard..with 3 icons...a lock..the wifi symbol and I with dot on top...Just cant figure out whats wrong...CC

Cottoncandy

what are they asking me when they ask for name of my network?? Thx CC

jackwv

CC on mine at top is Wifi with a button that should be turned on   to the left it should turn green.  Below that I have my home wifi,    I do not use the choose a network, or ask to join ,  For me I have a check mark and my number.  Do not have to enter a password.  Keep at it, lots of luck, not much help here.

jackwv

CC do not know if it is any help, but here is a photo of the screen on my pad when I go to wifi.   You will see my home wifi appears.  Do not know how it appears there, possibly when the wifi was set up.  (I am on Xfinity)

Cottoncandy

Thanks for your help....called tech and they walked me through resetting it...CC

jackwv

CC good to know you are back in business.

JeanneP

JeanneP

Cottoncandy

Jeanne,,,,not sure...may have been the update I downloaded.....he just said sometimes a reset is needed....he said I should do the updates...but I don't know..CC

jackwv

CC I meant to ask who your provider was.   Like a computer sometimes just have to unplug the wifi  to restart.   Fortunately I have not had an issue for sometime.

Cottoncandy

Jack..SWTexasTelCo is my provider..live in a small remote area where limited choices....CC

JeanneP

Now I just do not play around updating my IPad. Once it was set up and Apple auto Upgraded what the wanted to do I left their System alone. I just stick with getting books. Any games. Apps that I want will do that. I do play a little on the Desktop but even on it not much upgrading. Both are getting a little old now but just never have had any problems. I am not a whiz when it comes to Technology.they seem to be set up to all I want them to do.
JeanneP

Cottoncandy

Jeanne....you are wise to do that.....I will be more careful with my updates offered....CC

Cottoncandy

Jack..or anyone...how do I disable or turn off ITunes...I keep getting message I can't buy at this time....don't plan to...would like to get rid of that message...thx CC

Quiet day for me today.  I had planned on going to Texas but getting connecting flights not good and as the weather awful still I decided would do it later.

But now a tech problem again.
I think I just blew my IPad. Strange. It did start up . They said like."Slide to power off" Thought I would do that as not done awhile. Turned it back on and nothing. It had 60% power still but just blank. I plugged in to power cord again but nothing works. Was working perfect last night.
Could it be the battery died? I will take it to Best Buys tomorrow and check. Never thought they just did that without some warning.
Enjoy your day. Sun out here but cold. They said snow but I doubt it now. Heading east now so look out Granddaughter.  some Spring this is....

Jeanne, I have never had my iPad say that but my iPhone does when I want to turn it off.

When I am not going to be using the iPad for awhile, there is a button in the upper right corner.  I press that and it shuts it totally down which saves the battery.

Jeanne, if plugged in the battery should charge even when you have powered off.   When you power back on, usually mine will stay blank for a bit, but then the apple comes up there is another pause and things start working again.  If no luck then Best Buy sounds like a good idea.

Got to looking again, you said slide to power off, I would shut down completely,   like this

If turning the iPad off and back on again doesn't fix the problem, or the iPad is unresponsive when you try to turn it off, you have to reset it by doing the following: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
