Yes Jack.  I brought up apple on desktop. Said to try pressing the On/off switch and the home button same time.. If  that didn't work press one for 3 seconds and then the home for 3 seconds.  Got it working again now.  Amazing these Techs arn't they.  No idea what caused it to do what it did. Not ready to buy a new IPad yet...

Jeanne it sure helps when you have the computer to work with.   I get (and forget) instructions, so work on the computer and then try the solutions.   Google and youtube answer anything I have inquired about, the problem is too many replys to work past for the solution I want.

Yes. I think I will stick with always having a Desktop.
Did not think our weather man would be right yesterday but he was. We are having a bad snow storm at the moment. Looks about 1 inch already and coming down hard. Can you believe it is April 1? He wasn't fool daying us.

It worked? ----  Good

Now write up Jack's tips and what you did. PRINT IT OUT and keep for the future.
Also, save it on your other devices.

CC....go to the App store on your IPAD, do a search for Messenger, and download it.

The App store icon is a big blue box with a white A and says app stor it.

Glad you are back in business.   I was surprised it was even removed.  Read this process, appears that was your solution.

How do I get my app store back on my iPad?

Fix 2 – Check Restrictions

1.Open “Settings” from the Home screen.
2.Tap “General“.
3.Select “Restrictions“.
4.Make sure “Apps” is set to “Allow all apps“. Older versions of iOS will show as “App Store” and you will want to set it to “On“.

Good work CC.   Probably, like me, you changed passwords and they still had the old one.  Good that you were able to set a new password.   I had fits once, they kept asking for the password and even when I change was having problems.  They finally accepted a new on that was (partial)  Igiveup    with several numbers.   At this point I have not changed it for several years.

I don’t put either the finger print or a password on my IPAD.  With each update, it wants you to do that,  ut you can option out by looking at the options and selecting no password.  It’ll try to get you to put one in, but I don’t want the aggravation.

It’s not obvious...sort of small print where is offers various options...last one is no passcode.

I use an easy 4 digit password.  I would have by passed but my son insisted.  He in fact preferred the finger print, but I declined.  I guess there is some measure of security with the password, and takes no time.   Now the app store requires another and of course your credit card number if buying.

For me the 4 digit is to get onto the phone and pad and that is all the space they provide.    They require the long one at the store.

Does anyone here use the Consumer Cell. Mobile Phone? I have one for years as don't use often. Now getting to many unsolicited calls on it. Just went to them to see if could have Caller ID on that phone. They told me that they do not have that service.  I think its time to find another Company. I just don't want one that has a contract....

I use them.  One of the cheaper in this area. I also don't use it much . Mainly I use it when I go out for emergency purposes.

I would venture to guess that if you change your provider you will still get unwanted calls. Many automatically "dial" out the call. When someone answers the call is forwarded to a "representative".

Not sure  if this is the right Forum but it is the closest to my question.  I just bought a new Cell Phone as the last one did not work very good.  The Company is Consumer Cellular.  I rarely use it but it takes TWo HOURS EVERY MORNING TO RECHARGE IT.  iS THIS NORMAL?   sorry for the caps.

Joan if handy I would go to the source.   Do not know the phone you have, I have an iPhone on AT&T.    I seldom run low on battery but plug the phone in overnight.   You may be running some programs you do not need and/or want.   I have had my latest phone several months and a problem with settings.  Walked into the store, they corrected things and no charge.

If store not handy you might post the make and model of your phone someone may have an answer.  Believe I would put it on the charger at night and it should indicate if you have a fully charged battery.

Thanks Jack.  I only have phone for incoming and outgoing calls  Oh plus voice mail.  Rarely use the thing.  Daughter called the Company so we will see how that goes.  A pain in the neck for sure.
