Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Well, Beverly did a MUCH better job than I did!  At least we were in agreement on most of them.  Once she supplied the names, I found myself saying, but  Of Course!

I plead being much older and of poorer eyesight & memory!

Beverly

MaryPage - You did very well with the names! I just added to it.

Beverly

Callie and Helona from Oklahoma at the bash in Tucson, Arizona

I remember seeing those before Rick, but it would be nice if names were supplied. Weren't several of these type of photos done?

The second from our right, would that be Toodles Lee? ( now passed, ) who used to post in the " jokes " section....I am of course just remembering what she looked like by her avatar photo....

so_P_bubble

The 4th from the right with the horizontal stripes is Gladys for sure :)  Behind her, could it be RudiL?  And the last is Ginger I bet, with her flowery hat.

Vanilla-Jackie

And could that be GinnyAnn standing next door to Ginger? and possible Shirley the taller one in the centre...

Unfortunately I don't have the names. But I think everyone here knows who the "tall blonde" in the middle is.  Next to the left is Fran (also I believe no longer with us.)

This was from a discussion that Glen ran. Cartoons etc.

Here is Glen one Halloween night, when he received no treat!

That swimsuit photo is special!!

The ones I recognize are (l to r) Ginger, Etta Sue, (?), Ruthann, (?), Shirley/Tisie, Gladys, Helona, Toodles Lee, and Whimzy. Several of them are no longer with us.

Bubble - Those pictures are great. I never could get over Gladys' shortcut to her garden! She was quite a lady.

I loved Gladys! She emailed me quite often as her grandson lived in Wasilla and we struck up a friendship until she became ill.

If I remember correctly, Gladys's building was on a slope and it was easier for her to reach her garden around a tree by using the window rather than a door.

Is that Margaret next to Robbie in Vegas, Bubble?

Glen, Den, Oscar, and Dave were very helpful with my paint shop pro and my computer. I remember, when I asked Oscar about the unusual name of a computer system, Ubuntu, I received a CD with it to my surprise in the mail! Glen was one of the first to teach me animation and blending photos in a series.

Thanks for the names. I am using screen grab to keep a record of these photos.

MaryPage

I picked out Ginger Wright as being the first on the left in that bathing beauty line, but had trouble with the rest of them.
And yes, Patricia, that is Margaret Walbeck from South Africa, for sure.  I had assumed that was Paul next to her, but when I scrolled over and looked closely, I see it indeed looks like Robby Iadeluca from Virginia.  Can't say for sure.

so_P_bubble

Yes. it is Robby Iadeluca near Margaret W.  By the way, Robby  has joined us in S@F today so we will soon see a post of his on the site, or you can greet him on the introduction discussion.

I have just discovered this topic and had so much enjoyment going through it. Ah, the memories! Glen's Cartoon Fun page was a favourite haunting place of mine and I regularly posted there. (I am third from the left in the 'Swimwear models' group.  ;D )
It was great catching up with Carole (NZ) a few weeks ago. We chatted away like old friends even though we have probably only met three times.
I have photos of the mini bashes that Carole mentioned in her #108, and if I can figure out how to post photos again I will put one here as soon as I turn them out.

angelface555

Welcome, and it is so nice to see you posting again! You could, if you wanted, send your photos to me or Bubble if she's not busy and we can post them for you and if you do, please provide names.

The first New Zealand mini bash held at Cambridge in 2007. I start the line-up on the left, then Helen (Keith's wife), then Trevor (AKA Pat), Anne (Jerry's wife), then Pat/Trevor's wife whose name I have forgotten, then Jerry van Dalen, John (Mary's husband), Keith, Mary de Boer and Carole. We were standing outside the restaurant.

Jakkims

Angelface, thank you for your offer. I have worked out how to post the photo but if it is too big will you please resize it for me. Thank you, Jakki.

Hi Jakkims. Good to see you here and I look forward to your additional photos :)
It was great to see Jerry2 remembered.
Was Trevor's wife from Poland?

Vanilla-Jackie

JAKKIMS....
...It is lovely seeing photos from other corners of our world, miles apart from my Uk...and seeing so many friendships that have - had been made over the past years....Yes very sad that I remember some names but never got to communicate with postings to them, as it is was during my early years of being a member on S & Fs, where sadly some members have now long departed...Just lovely looking on happier times...

Beverly

Jakkims - Thank you for the photo!

I met Mary and John deBoer when they came to the states. Such lovely people!

I remember Trevor well. I have missed him since the old SN deserted us. His wife's name was Wisia and she had many stories to tell of her life in Poland during WW11.

And who could forget Jerry van Dalen?

I think Carole still posts in the Photo discussion on this site.

Somewhere I have the complete account of Wisa's memoirs via Trevor. And Jerry and I carried on quite a correspondence regarding his life under the Nazi's in the Netherlands. At eight he became the man of the house when his parents were arrested leaving him to watch over his sisters. The stories of him and other boys distracting the guards in order to steal meat to feed their families and avoid being shot were horrifying especially as he was the man of the house at eight!

One of my more memorable Jerry memories was of arguing with someone online who was later banned and finding an email from Jerry that was in at least five-inch letters and only saying," What were you thinking!"  ::)

I miss so many of these folks!

Jakkims

I think the Keith, in the photo I posted, went by the name of 'Keith the Saint', and went out of his way to be as unsaintly as possible! He loved to stir up some mischief.

angelface555

I remember Keith now that you mentioned it. I wish I had a time machine about now!
