Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

After a lot of searching (way too many photos, poorly organized!  ::) ) I found what I was looking for.

That was him --- TpikDave.   While we were on opposite shores we got along very well. We were both in the same "business" ( both worked for phone Co's ) and had similar interests. I didn't know Dave that long but miss his presence.
Maybe SueB can add some names.
Dave's wife (next to him) is Judy

I remember Dave so well, the nickname came from his always chewing a toothpick. I had many emails back and forth with him, Den and Oscar due to computers. He was either helping me or mad at me, no real in between. I recognize Jane and several look familiar, yet....

Sue B.,  the lady from Ohio, who was living in her car, was probably Bobbie Gould.  She and her dog traveled across the US, stopping at Walmart parking lots to sleep and get her groceries and whatever else she would need.  She and I still keep in touch.   She and her son, Don, are living with her daughter now,,,,,,,,,,still in Ohio .

She is a special lady.   We all used to tell her she needed to write a book about her experiences  driving across the country.  She met  up with some really neat people.   She doesn't have a dog anymore. She is not real well, so that was the reason for moving in with her daughter.  Not sure if she gets on this board much anymore.  I will have to call her and tell her about this new place to reminisce with long-ago friends.

I met up with her not long after the old SeniorNet got started   I was looking for some help for a friend who had Fibromyalgia, and that is how I met Bobbie and Sylvia Tribe, who had started the Fibromyalgia message board.  Sylvia passed away earlier this year.

It is nice to see a lot of the old members of the old SeniorNet. I never got to meet any of them,  as I never got to any of the bashes.  So, it is always nice to be able to put a name with a picture.

I really like seeing all the pictures that different ones are posting here.

Bobbie, yes, that's who I was talking about.  Somewhere I have a photo of her and me taken by Don.

And thanks for posting the photo of Don and me.  Miss my handsome hubby.  That was a nice event in Calgary.

And yes, Jane.  I remember her too.

Regarding the newbie label I was something other than that on some point but was not able to be on here for a long time.  But it doesn't matter.  Glad I have a few minutes to be here again.  I live where I have lived almost 20 years so no change there.

SueB -

This site "went down" a while back. Everything was lost. We all had to re-register and start all over.

These may not exactly fit the criteria, but I found these from when Glen was trying to teach me and others the fine art of Internet cartooning. I am including a couple of birthday wishes I had sent to Glen and Papa John as well. There were so many, such as birthdays to Gladys, Rae and Whimsy, anniversary congratulations to Bunnie and Gene, Papa John and Norm and their wives. So many that are gone now.

Glen, Pat, and Karren, I was still trying to master the technique....

so_P_bubble

How clever, Angel.  I particularly like the last one.  Do you remember where Glen was from? I think it would make a meeting of three different countries.

Mary Ann

Patricia, with your mention of Norm, he died a year ago this Thanksgiving Day, November 24.  I don't remember Papa John's date, but I have a copy of his obit on my computer.

Bubble, I'm not sure, but I think Glen was from Indianapolis, if not, Indiana anyway.

Mary Ann

angelface555

Thank you MaryAnn, yes Glen was from Indianapolis.

Adrienne posted this on FB on 11/05/2016. It is her with Gene and Nadia, visiting her from western Australia.

Shirley

I'm glad someone posted a link over in the Soda Shoppe, I was here originally & forgot (happening a lot lately).  I have photos on the other computer, some of the cartoons/ graphics that Glen Curtis helped with.  I had a couple photos that Dave sent me at one time.  So many good memories, love all the photos coming in.

I will get some in after this week, we are doing Thanksgiving dinner while the oldest gr-daughter & family are in town from Seattle.. this next Sunday!  I volunteered fixing the turkey, dressing & gravy..... and the day before I bake another turkey to have the drippings & meat to fix turkey & noodles, a must for this family.  Think I'll have to turn the power on to the RV to use the frig in there as well as my kitchen one & a little office frig in the basement.  Next week I can think photos and eat left overs.  Thanks for the memories!

so_P_bubble

May I have some of the left over turkey?  I never had turkey with dressing etc.  It sounds so tasty.   :smiley6600:

JaneS

Bubble, you're comment about never having had our traditional Thanksgiving dinner is so timely.  When I read Shirley's post, I wondered to myself what our friends from other countries thought of all our Thanksgiving doings.  Now I know!

Bubble, you are welcome to our family gathering this coming Thanksgiving.  I can promise you that there will be more than enough to accommodate you and your family.  But be forewarned that it does get a little noisy with this bunch I have.

We will be having our church dinner this coming Saturday.  Everyone pitches in and brings something.  I think the wife signed up for dessert.  It will also be a traditional dinner with Turkey, Ham, dressing, and all the fixings (as we say).

so_P_bubble

Sounds enticing, Hal.  Does the invitation includes a flight ticket for all of us?    :2funny:  Thanks!

I suppose I'll never get there at this time of the year because it is usually too cold for me.

Shirley

Bubble, I dearly wish you could come & share all the turkey, dressing & gravy... noodles & everything else that goes with the meal.  I'm wishing I had time & space to bake a spiral ham like I do some/most years, but this old gal is wearing down.  Last 2 nights I've had about 2-3 hours sleep, wake up & start planning the activities & then get hungry.

so_P_bubble

Thanks Shirley.  Maybe you could hop to here and do the baking here?  Then we could share it and "babble" at the same time :D

SHIRLEY, Shirley.....are we going to have to report you to the powers that be for not at least TRYING to be a bit kinder to yourself?  You are a wonderful person and I know you want to do all you can to have everything PERFECT for your family, HOWEVER....I think they all prefer to have you around and not be worn to a frazzle!  Now that being said....can I come and share your delicious sounding Turkey Meal?  😍😍😍

We finally got our first snow this morning.....already we have way more than they projected for us to arrive tonight.  We need the moisture so badly, so sure can not complain but must admit the weather here has been spectacular.  It was 80 degrees yesterday and we will barely top,out at 40 today.  CrAzY cRaZy weather this year.

We are trying to get a meet up with The Thomas' Family.  Between all that is going on in our life and how the weather it is not going too well.  We WILL see them, just not sure exactly when.

Hope you all are enjoying a nice Thursday.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.  I'm going to the home of a friend who is having relatives in.  I don't know them but this will be nice.  I made applesauce today and will take some to give away.  The friend said her family will provide the dinner.  I don't mind being lazy this time around.  Bubble, I"llmake it there yet, just not now.

Denver glad for the moisture there.
