Larry Hanna...
...nothing was mentioned but if anything is done it will probably be done by his- our GP once the hospital give her the same feedback, although Richard thinks they will just monitor his iron levels...she may contact him as I think now he has exhausted any further tests, apart from seeing a Cardiologist in February...and of course he is still awaiting his call up to go see a cataract removal Consultant which is now in its eighth month and now overdue...one of the busiest and lengthy NHS waiting lists...and this is just to see the Consultant, another lengthy wait to actually have them done unless one goes private, which he will probably do at a hefty expense.......

...yes even I was expecting them to keep him in, send him to a recovery room before letting him drive home, similar to when I had my Hysteroscopy but, I was put under general aesthetic Richard wasn't, he was just offered air - oxygen mask...Whether this was normal procedure or because he suffers COPD breathing problems, but that was all he said they done...

Richards just phoned 9.50am, says hes on his way, I said haven't you reached there yet, he said I am on my way home, I said wow, is it done already, he said yes, he sure sounded bubbly so I am assuming they haven't found anything to worry about, said I can have my breakfast now when I get home...of course he only had poached eggs 24 hours ago, and that was all..Think later he will enjoy a slap up dinner...

Edited to add:  his report did say no cancer, no polyps but they did find Angiodysplasia which could account for his anaemia- blood loss..." It is a common cause of otherwise unexplained gastrointestinal bleeding and anemia..."
...but no further action from them is required

Richard has just this minute left ( 7.15am ) to go for his 8.am Colonoscopy hospital appointment...I couldn't take him as he now has a manual car from his previous company, I can only drive automatic, and this time round that was all they could offer him in his chosen make of car until his next car order....Not that I have driven for the last few years since my MS diagnoses anyway, although I have been granted the next three years to legally drive in my condition...He only woke up half hour before leaving and looked like a little boy lost, I know deep down he is worried but he is such a private and distant person, doesn't listen and does things his way, he knows best...I kept asking if he had taken the meds this morning that he is allowed to take, the meds he must take with him, whether he had his hospital paperwork ready, he said yes but still he walked out the back door, then returned saying, " my paperwork .." I said where is it,  envelope on the kitchen table he said..I know he is worried but doesn't make a fuss like I do...Strange really as our neighbour opposite had his Colonoscopy procedure last Friday....

Yes it can become a frightening reality the day ones children become a grandma themselves...besides that's what we are here for, that is our sole purpose, to raise the next generation who themselves raise the next generation, etc, etc...I have served my purpose...

:) Mary Ann...not sure you would be labelling me as " just a kid..." seeings I am now a great grandma of a child now aged 3...well I was a very young mom at age 18..and my daughter is soon coming up to 50...even I have to pinch myself when I think of this...I remember when I was 50, doesn't seem that long ago...

Mary Ann...now that has cheered him up, informing him " that at 74 he's not that old..." I am always referring to him as  " an old man.."  ;D well he is 6 years older than me...He has just reminded me, he is not 74 until January..I seem to have a habit of ageing him before time...

Joy...yes it seems that we get the Primary Progressive when diagnosed In later life, they say from age 50 onwards, I was 64 when diagnosed...

Unlike me, up until the last few weeks Richard had avoided all things invasive - medical procedures at the age of almost 74 but, just like the well - known Idiom..." you wait a long time for a bus, then when one comes along, they come along in threes " ...and of course they are for Richard...only a week ago it was the down the throat endoscopy...for him it has been one after the other....his colonoscopy is next Monday...
There had been mentioned he may have had a heart attack, but if so, we are both bewildered as to when....He first went to his GP after being more breathless ( COPD ) and suffering with a tight chest and jaw pain..he is also diabetic and had become anaemic, he is very pale, they think he is losing blood..

Re: MS...there are 4 types of MS...I have the Primary Progressive..

Relapsing-Remitting MS (RRMS). This is the most common form of multiple sclerosis. About 85% of people with MS are initially diagnosed with RRMS. People with RRMS have temporary periods called relapses, flare-ups or exacerbations, when new symptoms appear..

Secondary-Progressive MS (SPMS). In SPMS, symptoms worsen more steadily over time, with or without the occurrence of relapses and remissions. Most people who are diagnosed with RRMS will transition to SPMS at some point..

Primary-Progressive MS (PPMS). This type of MS is not very common, occurring in about 10% of people with MS. PPMS is characterized by slowly worsening symptoms from the beginning, with no relapses or remissions..

Progressive-Relapsing MS (PRMS). A rare form of MS (5%), PRMS is characterized by a steadily worsening disease state from the beginning, with acute relapses but no remissions, with or without recovery..

...afraid to admit but my three recent MS end of year social gatherings and Christmas meals was - is the hi-lite of my Christmas, very little else will now be happening, no family get together's for either of us...I will attend at least one Christmas carol church service if all goes to plan as Richard has been undergoing hospital - medical tests - procedures these last few weeks with another two taking place today and Monday...I was hoping to attend one of the same churches as last year this coming Monday but R has to go on a fasting and a good clearing out, in preparation for Mondays colonoscopy, so I will have to miss this Carols by candlelight service this year...

Oh I am still allowed to drive a car for the next three years, not long had my licence renewed due to my MS situation but R has now a manual car for the time being, always managed to get an automatic from his ex company but not this time, and of course legally I can only drive an automatic, again all bad timing...But saying that, I haven't driven since before my MS diagnoses of 3 plus years ago, guess my car driving confidence days are over but we do definitely need a car where we now live, we are miles off the main road tucked away down in the valleys...if one wants isolation, this is the place to be... ::)   :-\

I was hoping like last year, to go to this Sundays candlelight Carol service at one of the two churches we both went to last year but, I have only found out today the full procedure Richard has to go through this Sunday in preparation for his colonoscopy the following morning, the Monday...he has to fast and flush out his system so that is a definite no no, and I cant get myself there by myself so will have to give that church a miss for this year...there are one or two other churches that will be holding theirs on a different day...Richard has been having tests, invasive tests through our last couple of weeks...another procedure is due tomorrow...such bad timing, our Christmas period...Medical based appointments must take preference...

Marilyn...
...R is due a one off iron infusion tomorrow, so sounds like he will be keeping your Keith company...

Alpiner...
...I think that's our medics answer to everything " exercise .." easier said than done...although beneficial if we can keep our body moving, if at all that is possible...Same here with my MS, I am not ready to give up my legs and feet without a fight..

...yes depending on which corner of the planet we live in, our sky's do appear different...same as when I briefly lived in St Lucia Caribbean 1982  the first thing we noticed ( me and my then 12 year old daughter ) was how low the sky looked compared to England, even the moon took on a different shape, looked lower and layed on its side...infact everything appeared lower apart from the thunder and lightening..

...it was very enjoyable and this year we both done very well winning great raffle prizes which were not cheap...these came from both Saturdays Christmas dinner raffle held at our annual rather posh hotel, and tonight's raffle held at our usual meet-up venue just a short distance away....even a very large bottle of Pommery Brut Royal Champagne...a set of 6 crystal cut liqueur tumblers.....a bottle of black raspberry liqueur...all very nice if one still drinks... :bubbly:  oh well, maybe I can force a small glass down me...

Soon be leaving for my near local MS social...
We are due to have a group of young from our local theatre calling themselves W O W...They give us a short dancing stage routine at the end of our groups social year, plugging their Christmas show at our local theatre in Weymouth, and I must say, they are pretty good... Afterwards we have our last of the year Christmas raffle, followed by a table, come up with a plate and help yourself buffet...all followed by a cup of tea or coffee via one of our volunteer MS mini bus drivers bringing the trolley around....

...yes I had, up until this morning all seemed fine...dont know why the notifications built up again, never had so many emails from  S & F's...Edited to add...yes I had turned notifications off...
This was Oldiesmanns response to me...quoting:
" I made some changes to the notifications code recently to fix the problem with duplicate notifications and such. It appears that the bug with the code (prior to my changes) caused it to miss things, so that's why you're suddenly getting old notifications. That should hopefully clear out soon..."

I haven't made any postings for a day or two on this forum but this morning I came into 137 emails of which at least 120 - 125 were from notifications from our site, even from  rooms I haven't posted in for some weeks, many being back-dated...I had originally unticked these rooms for notifications so have no Idea why they have started up again...I usually only come in to a maximum of 30 normal emails but was overwhelmed with the amount of emails this morning...I have now gone into my S & Fs account and unticked them all, lets see what happens..

Also when I press the preview button before posting, it only shows part of my post, not all, as it once did, so in that case how can I look for spelling mistakes before hitting that post button...

I am looking forward to this evening but our rains are gushing - bucketing down here and probably will be the same where we are soon to be heading ( leaving in the next three hours ) for my MS Christmas do...

Edited to add: my other half had his hospital consultation this morning, he will be due both a camera Endoscopic Gastroscopy and a Colonoscopy some time soon, hopefully not both at the same time, so I am not sure his mind will be focused on this evenings Christmas dinner...

Yes it is Primary Progressive MS and my other half has been undergoing hospital tests over these last couple of weeks, X - ray, ECG...he is due a consultation tomorrow for a tube going down his throat, or they might decide a scan...he has become anaemic, breathing, chest and jaw trouble...Oh the joys of our ageing process...anyway, " whats to be will be..." we all seem to have our medical issues...and deal with them we must...

I stopped having a Christmas tree since I lost our three fur babies and we have moved away from each of our families so dont buy nor give presents anymore, so no presents to place around the tree or on the dining table as we once used to do, so just didn't see the point but, since these last few weeks It is bringing it on home to me that life is too short to deprive ourselves of a tree even if no one else we see it, so I have made the effort just for us to enjoy while we still can, even if it wont be the same for me anymore.....

First time in years I decided on a Christmas tree, just a 4 foot artificial tree, one I thought would be simpler to put together and decorate seeings I now have MS and my other half suffers Diabetes and COPD....unpacking, putting together and decorating this tree has been " the blind leading the blind..." who would think a smallish tree could cause so much frustrations and arguments...Anyway now its done, must say it looks good and passes with flying colours...maybe we will do it again same time next year...God willing... ;)

Been back a few hours after my early morning dental hygienist appointment...now my teeth are all ready to munch into our MS Christmas meal that takes place at my next Counties MS social group which is taking place at a golf club tomorrow evening, a place we are not familiar with that will take an hour or so car driving...not great with my MS constant bladder functioning, if I have to stop off en-route to empty, so be it...

After trick-or-treating,
a teen takes a shortcut home
through the cemetery. Halfway across, he's startled by a tapping noise coming from the misty shadows.

Trembling with fear, he spots
an old man with a hammer and chisel, chipping away at a headstone.

"I thought you were a ghost,"
says the relieved teen. "What are you
doing working so late?"

"Oh, those idiots," grumbles the old man. "They misspelled my name!"
