Amy, I can understand why you would be so concerned about any medicine that destroys the immune system. I was turned down from getting on the heart replacement list because I had the prostate cancer and if they killed my immune system it would let my cancer go wild.

Jane, glad to see you put safety first yesterday regarding yourself and others.  One can't blame the doggies for not wanting to get out in the bad weather  and I expect the snow and ice are unpleasant to their little paws.

Callie, I know what you mean about how seeing the sun brightens out day literally and also mentally. Sparrows have to eat too.  :)

Shirley, do you use the light weight garden hoses that retract when the water is turned off and drained out them.  I have a couple of those but didn't use one in the back at all this last summer and the other one only a couple of times. When I read the terrible effects a medication can have a side effects or they state all of those on those incessant TV commercials I wonder why would anyone want to take it.  Of course I know many of these side effects only happen to a small percentage of people but your daughter was one of the unfortunate ones. I think I probably fit a bit into the category that your Cas had although I think the oxygen is helpful since sometimes I feel like I am drowning by not being able to get enough oxygen.  Of course I have never drowned so not sure how that would feel.  I am thankful for the medications I have that keep the angina pretty well under control. Last night for my dinner I had about a half cup of soup (more like a vegetable and beef stew), a little of a corn bread muffin and about half of a cookie.  Sometimes it just takes too much breath and energy to eat more.  I don't remember ever leaving a half cookie uneaten in my whole life.

June, glad you have decided not to be unhappy.  I think we all probably feel better if we are able to get dressed for the day even if that is all we can do and I know there are times when that is overwhelming.
One of the adages I fall back on often is that "it is what it is". I do use oxygen with my CPAP machine in the afternoons and at night.  There has been no indication that my situation relates to my lungs other than they are not getting enough oxygen as my heart is so weak.  You know we all love you.

Lloyd, I hope you have success in getting hold of the person to repair your motor home.  I didn't know all of that about keeping the roses fresh longer.

Phyllis, we don't have car inspection in South Carolina, at least not here.  Since we lived in the Atlanta we did have the annual inspection and it was always a time of concern that the older car wouldn't pass.

Gloria, I am happy to see your CNA was able to come after all yesterday but hope she wasn't as chatty as usual.  I think the weather forecasters really over hype the weather situation.  We experienced the same thing yesterday when our severe storm and alerts just turned out to be a normal rain.  I am glad you try to get out of your apartment everyday if you are able and that you don't isolate.

Good afternoon again, we had snow, freezing rain and now a thaw.

Again thank you all for my birthday messages. I just wrote a long post and manage to push the wrong button sorry  :tickedoff:  I do not feel like repeating. see you all tomorrow

Blowing snow is making it difficult to see now. We did get all the snow removed and I got another load of wood  put in the garage to bring in the house when the wood box runs low. Looks like tomorrow will be the same dance, I could do some now but will wait till tomorrow.
We lose our power from 9-12 then 1-4 tomorrow as they are putting the lines over on the new poles.
Right now it is like the 401 hwy in here....pup running full out with Babe close behind him. I would love that energy!!

Take care everyone and stay warm.

I came home from work and the house was all shiny clean and the dogs had been snacked and out and I had nothing to do but get a big drink of water and then take a nap.  I didn't even check in here.

We're supposed to be getting more snow this afternoon and this evening but it hasn't amounted to much.  Thank you, God!

Now I have a whole day free to do as I please.  I wish you all such a day!

AMY, I'm sure you won't have that kind of day but whatever it is you do with it, you'll enjoy it for sure!

I'm off to watch some TV.  I woke up in tim to watch the end of Schindler's List.  That was a great movie!  I think I'll see what's on now. Bye for now![/color][/b]

JThe snow has stopped for now. Saw my neighbour out shoveling their driveway and over I went with my dance partner to help. Her hubby was out snow plowing yards.
Don't think I  will be staying up much longer.
Have a great evening everyone.

I'm so glad I had yesterday. Today someone stuck a pin in my balloon. Woke at four, fighting to find some peaceful breaths....no luck, so called down for albuterrol, which was promptly delivered. The night nurse told when it was finished to press my lifeline button to have it shut off  and she said, DON"T do it yourself !!!! Just lay quietly in bed. So I did. Woke up four hours later. Missed my son's Bible Class at nine. as my energy was still in bed. What a waste. So it has been a slow day...a nurse from hospice came by and asked some questions, took my vitals....and I have been a do nothing' all day long. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

I'm going to have a light supper, get all ready for bed...teeth, patch, etc. then go to bed and read till last meds come at 9 p.m.and look forward to a new start on Thursday.

I pray you all have a Peaceful, Blessed night, and a happy, refreshing strong tomorrow. I love, love, love you all. June
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Larry, I do think Cas was hoping that oxygen would help when he went to see the lung specialist, and was disappointed that he didn't even think it worth trying.  That was when he started looking into the external one.  I know he kept the nitroglycerin  tablets on hand & had to get refills because they were out of date, so don't think he had the pain like you do.  He was willing to try anything to help, and I think you are right that pills are life savers for some and "poison" for others.

I do have 2 of the 75' shrink hoses & glad I got the 2nd one because I could not get the faucet to turn on in the center of the house in front, pretty sure Andy tightened it, so had to put them together to reach the end of the house to all across the yard. Cas had at least 6 or 8 of the real rubber, lifetime hoses from Sears & they are too heavy for me to haul around.  He has either 2 75' or 3 50' connected on one hose cart but takes a stronger arm than mine to wrap them up.  Plus he had more at 3 different faucets.  I hope to have one monster yard sale this spring since I've tried giving stuff to our kids but they already have what they want.  Trying to down size to save the kids the trouble.  We've been in this house 30 years & still have all the tools it took to build a house (and work on cars, etc).

Amy, I think I might change my mind about wishing for snow (& that's when we'll get lots), sure sounds like a lot of work.  I think I am getting lazy.  I'm  serious about that.  Chickened out on washing the car again today!  Wind has a bite to it no matter what the temp is!

June, sorry you had a bad night & bummer day.  Hope it is better tomorrow.  I marvel at the wonderful treatment you receive.  Not just dutiful but kind, it sounds like.

Gloria de.... was just thinking, did your husband always combine birthday & Valentine Day presents?  Mine was not a gift giver & usually whatever he got me for Christmas was also for birthday.  Later years he gave me money to pick out what I wanted (usually a new camera).  The last gift he gave me was money & I bought a new Ruger & got my "conceal carry" permit. He was pleased about that since I was the one to "defend" us always, I sleep with one ear open.

Jane, I'd love to find someone to work with me to clean this house, I haven't gotten caught up since Cas died going on 6 years.  Once caught up I could keep up with extra help maybe twice a month.  The cats to take up a lot of time cleaning after them, Tom & Callie were out a good part of the day but come INSIDE to use the litter box instead of digging a hole in the yard.  They will do business when I walk them down to the river, but have not been doing that every day, and they sure don't want to run out & back in!  I really did not know how pig headed cats are... , my birds were all better potty trained & would hop in to potty if they wanted to get on my shoulder.  Cats just stare at me with, "I can't hear you".....

Better get ready for bed, I need some deep sleep tonight, only got 9 min of deep sleep last night,  with my 6 hours & 26 min total.  Sweet dreams to all and God Bless.  Shirley

well I had a busy easy day, fed the cattle and worked at the shop but not on what I had planed to. oh well I have things to do another day. I Have a appointment at V A tomorrow routine with my doctor. so do not plan anything tomorrow except feeding the cattle and the trip to V A. Have a grate rest of the day.

Good morning everyone a whole 30° to start here this morning. Supposed to be nice and sunny and into the upper 30's. Better than freezing.

LLOYD  good tip on the flowers. I always cut my flowers on an angle but under running water, got that tip from a florist.

LARRY  good to read you had a good night's sleep in bed. That always helps. Even if I lay on the couch to watch TV when that CNA is here she never stops talking. Really starting to get on my nerves. She says people always need someone to talk to, well I like peace and quiet, guess I am not like most people she knows. Nice that your son and Pat were goio the dinner even if you couldn't this time. I know you always enjoyed going and meeting your friends there.

SHIRLEY  I still like seeing the snow, it is the cold I do not like anymore and I always loved winter and the cold before. The stock I made the soup with was some I made. Had chicken in the freezer and used that. It was good but as usual I made too much, must tink I am still making soup for a family? You made me think of my Mom, she put things away where she would remember and then could not find them. I try to have a place for every thing and put it back in the same place, does not always work though. We have had  the law of wipers on and lights on for many years. One girl I worked with said he father said he would not wear down his battery turning on the lights when it rained, wonder how many tickets he got for that.

AMY  we have a new tenant here and he has a dog, he said he is 3 years old but acts more like 3 months, Very energetic with the ears always up and interested in every thing and every one he sees. Like you I sure could use some of that energy.

JANE  I am with you, Schindler's List was a great movie.

JUNE  I hope today is much better for you.

Happy Valentine Day. Have a good day.

Good morning everyone..

Woke earlier to Babe barking, looked out but didn't see anything so we went back to bed.I just have to clean/snow blow out the  trails for the dogs this morning and deliver a quilt and that is it.

Gloria,I bet that dog will get spoiled...er well loved by everyone there!

Lloyd, that mud is just like grease making it difficult to move about in the barn yard. Many a time I have had to use the front end loader to get me going again.

Shirley, we call that wind a lazy wind. Rather go through you than around you!!

We are looking after the neighbours place/generator today after the power is cut. They both go to work today and we will just keep an eye on it and keep it fueled up if need be.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Enjoy your day everyone.

Car inspection is done....everything is OK.  Registration renewal check is ready to go in the mail.  That job is done for another year.  I wish that NC did not have car inspections.  However, this state has a legislature that will tax everything it can think of....and is constantly raising the tax rate.  Getting so expensive because of all the taxes that I sometimes think I should leave.  But, the thought of moving gives me the heebie-jeebies.  :o

And, speaking of expensive....grocery shopping today.  I would put it off but tomorrow is supposed to be rainy.  Yesterday was sunny and nice to look at but it had Amy's lazy wind.  Went right through me when I stepped outside.

Take care.

I'm up!  The doggies have been out, in, fed and out again!  I've accomplished one item on my list for today (unless you count making up the list. Then I've done 2).

I see you're all active today.  We're having a beautiful, sunshiny day, too.  I appreciate the sunshine but my eyes don't like it when there's driving to be done.  I think I'll try to get the outside errands done first today since leaving them for afternoon means I'd be driving west and that puts the sun directly into my eyeballs and my eyeballs don't like that!  The best time for driving on a sunny day is from about 10 to 2:30 while the sun is high in the sky.  That's what I'm aiming for.

It's sure nice to see daylight so early in the morning and so much later in the day!  It's a sure sign that Spring is coming!  We've had way too much of AMY'S "lazy wind" around here, too.

SHIRLEY, when my granddaughter located the cleaning dynamo for me, I had her weekly for about 6 months, then we went to 2 times a month and now she comes once a month.  It's just enough to keep the house "healthy".

GLORIA, my cleaning gal is willing to talk but it doesn't keep her hands still.  She doesn't stop for anything except on her way out the door.  That's when she likes to get set up for the next time just in case I'm not around when she comes.

JUNE, you must take care of YOU and it looks like that's exactly what your are doing.  The place where you are seems perfect!  Let them show you every kindness and help that you need.  But when you can, come visit with us, too.

I guess  better get started on my list if I want to be ready to leave the house by 10:30.  Enjoy your day, Everyfriend!  Especially the sunshine, if you have it.

Good morning on this pretty, sunny morning, but still very cold.  And, the prediction is for more snow coming on Sat. and then again, next Tues. and Wed.  I think that is enough.  But, I remember my grandfather always telling us that March can be a brutal month.  So, we have that to think about before spring arrives.  My sister-in-law lives about 25 or 30 miles south of me and she told me that she has daffodils coming up in the snow.  Her area are only gets less than 1/2 of the snow that my area gets.  However, we just have to be patient, as  we can't do anything about the weather.

June, I admire you so much for the way you look at life.  You are such an inspiration to us all.  Hope that you will feel better and able to enjoy today.  Glad that your health workers keep such a good check on you.  You are so fortunate to be living where you do.

Jane, do hope you get all your errands done without any problems.  And, have an enjoyable day being out.  and, yes, it sure is nice to notice that the days are getting longer in the evening.  I noticed last night that the sun was still shining at 5:30. And, the mornings getting lighter  a little earlier.  That is sure a good sign of spring being on the way.

Amy, sure am sorry that you are having more problems with the snow and keeping your electric going. It is good that they tell you ahead of time when the power will be off.  That gives you a little bit of time to make plans.  I guess you are just used to dealing with the snow shoveling.

Larry, glad to see you are feeling up to posting a little bit more.  I can understand how frustrating it is not to feel up to doing the things you want to do. But, it does sound like you are feeling a little better.

Gloria, we aren't supposed to have any animals here where I live, but there are people who get letters from their doctor's stating that they need a pet as  a companion.  However, I don't think that is true with everybody. The lady across the hall from me has a big dog that just barks and barks so much.  But, nobody seems to complain to the management about it.  I think there is supposed to be a limit to the size you have, also.  A lot of the residents have cats, too.  They aren't as noticeable as the dogs.  I had my share of dogs and I do not want any more.

I have to get a move on.  I have a grocery order coming at 11 a.m.  And, I still need to clean up my breakfast dishes and get dressed.

Phyllis, yes, groceries are getting more and more expensive.  I have been getting groceries at an independent store lately as they will deliver, but their prices are a lot more than when I was getting groceries from  Walmart.  This store has much better produce than Walmart, which I like. Just have to wind up paying the higher price.

Will end with a " Good Morning" to all of you who I might have missed.  I hope everyone will have a nice day and stay warm and dry if you are in that part of the country.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, EVERYFRIEND!!!

I got about 2/3 of my list done but it's not because I didn't try.  I make some phone calls and had to leave messages for paper work I need.  No call back yet.  Oh Well, tomorrow is another day.

Now I have time to finish a couple of small jobs that didn't quite make it onto the list.  I hope Everyfriend's day is going well.  it was gorgeous here...cold but not bone chilling and the sun shone all day.  Makes one feel that life is worth living!

I keep losing posts, I post them, but they are gone with the wind. I left a short one this morning as my lunch was delivered and I had to eat. Oh, well with the condition the world is in what is one of my posts ?

This has been a good day, lots of rain, ending about mid afternoon.  I woke early with shortness of breath so had them bring up some albuterol, then on to the oxygen machine. The Blessing of science. I did get dressed, walked, did all my daily duties of prayer time, and visited the club house to renew old friendships I have neglected. I don't think, in this life time I will ever catch up with answering greeting cards from Christmas. Woe is me.

I am heating up leftovers from lunch for my supper and looking forward to a quiet night of t.v., reading, and blessed sleep. Not too many months past, I would never have settled for such a retired lifestyle, but I am content. This is like a new chapter in my life's book, so I will look forward to each new page as it turns. I love you dear friends, and God loves you even more......we are So Blessed. Hugs, Love and prayers, forever and ever. June

Good nigh Everyfriend and a special good night to you, JUNE!  We're happy to see your post whenever it comes.

I think I might need to invest in a new keyboard.  I hit all the right keys but sometimes they don't take and that includes the space bar.  I've been trying to figure out how old my keyboard is and I'm thinking it might be at least 10 years old...maybe more.  I'm going to look at those new fangled ones that were in DONKLAN's post and see if they are in my price range.  It will probably have to wait until my taxes are done and I have the refund in hand.

Finished a few more things on my list and redid the list for tomorrow.  With it being a work day, not much will be done but I'm hoping for some answers for today's phone calls.

Now, I'm off to Dreamland.  I wish you all a good night and a good tomorrow.  May God bless us, every one!

Good morning everyone, 35° but no sun this morning, just a gray sky with rain coming later. Got my yearly meeting with the witch yesterday so I am set here for another year after she comes up to inspect my apartment. She always finds fault with something. Sorry but I can no longer keep the place spic and span like I used to. CNA can only do so much, no moving furniture to get under and in back of. No window washing either. Oh well.

LLOYD  I well remember the mud all around with spring thaws. At least here I no longer have to worry about it.

AMY  dogs are not allowed to go free here. They have to stay in the apartments and walked by the owners on a leash. Not many have dogs and they are small ones except for the seeing eye lab for the blind lady here. Never hear any barking either.

PHYLLIS  many gas stations were able to inspect cars here but now the state  has "official" places to go to and they do check everything. Always crowded, too. Makes me glad I no longer have a car. This state is tax happy, very few things are not taxed, clothes are not taxed.

JANE  it seemed like in my working days I always drove east going to work and west going home. Always had the sun in my eyes, thank goodness for good sunglasses. The CNA comes in and sits and starts talking as son as she comes in. I get tired of it so always have something for her to do and she talks the whole 2 hours she is here.

JOY  I missed having a dog for a long time, now I sure would not want the work involved in having one, I would not be able to take one out to walk an stoop down to pick up their mess. It is funny to see the ones with dogs carrying plastic bags with them to pick it up. Yuck.

LARRY  I do not have your medical problems but every time I have an appointment it takes a few days before I feel rested from the trips out.

JUNE  like you I never thought I would be content with doing just about nothing. I was always finding something to do.

JANE  like you my keyboard is an old one, the new one I bought will not work good with this lemon of a PC. I have to check everything I type because at times it skips a space in words and I have to back space or the key I hit does not show up.

Have a good day.

Good Morning from the cold but not
freezing,  rocky coast of Maine.

We got some snow,  but today most of that is going to
melt because the temperature is rising....   Yeah!
But it will be rainy so  I will not be getting out
any time soon.

Jane... Why don't you buy and inexpensive keyboard from
Walmart..  The keys on   your old one  are probably
sticking.. and it is time for a new one.   Keyboards are
not very expensive and even the cheaper ones will last
a long time as long as something doesn't get spilled on
them ..

Good luck and if the cheaper one works for a while,
perhaps in the future when you get a newer
computer,  you can try out the fancier keyboards.

I have found that the less expensive ones work
just as well and my fingers are used to them...
so they are easier to use.

Have a good day,  everyone and  stay warm and dry ..

It is a beautiful morning here.  Bright sun and temps are up.  I plan to enjoy every minute of it.

I bought too much at the grocery store yesterday....don't I always?  And my delivery from Schwan's Foods came in the afternoon.  I had a challenge to find space for everything in the freezer but we are well stocked.  That always seems to be a big concern of mine.  You would think that I was raised in starvation.  My family was not rich....downright poor, sometimes during the Depression...but I don't remember EVER being hungry.

You sound better, June.  I'm so glad.

I hope Larry is doing well today.

Good morning,Sandy and Lloyd and Amy.  And, Gloria, your ears may be ringing from the constant chatter but look on the bright side, your appt. is clean and tidy and you don't have to move for a year.

Hi Everyone. Just a few words today.  I did get my new Chromebook on Wednesday but yesterday it went into a loop that I could not get it to stop.  I called ASUS technical support and the things he told me to do wouldn't stop the loop.  He agreed with me that I should return it to Amazon and request a replacement.  I did request a replacement and it is to be here tomorrow.  Now that is good customer service.  I have the return label and Pat or Scott will have to  drop it off at the UPS store in the next few days. I will read through the postings but don't have the energy today to write individual comments.  I seem to be getting weaker by the day.  Sure glad I don't have to go anywhere for several days.

I have been meaning to post this message I got a couple of days ago from our Joan.

Thanks. Only had one hand for over two months so hard to type with just one hand. Almost back to normal now. I have not been in the other discussion as it looks like I have to start all over again and have not been up for that. Maybe I can get my son to help me with getting in there.
