Fantastic photos from the old days & the new life!  Bubble, that would be such fun to camp in such historical places, did you think about that at the time?  Great photos & was thinking how much your Aviv looks like... I'm guessing your son?  At a glance. Do you think so?  You were really gorgeous looking out that tent. I had a little instamatic camera on our first few trips to Colorado... my old photos in color faded almost completely.

Don, beautiful buildings & grounds. Do you get out to exercise much?  I know, had to get out to take pictures, right? Does look like a very nice place to live. Bet you enjoy having people to visit with.  I would. Thanks for showing us around.

Mary Ann, going to the "Lake" (of the Ozarks) in my early years was more like what you described. Small cabins with outhouses.  When I was a kid I didn't think it was as much fun, I was terrified of spiders in the outhouse and even in the beds in the cabins. My parents had a cabin they built after I got married, but they had spiders that would move in so had to check everything before sitting or going to bed. Trying to remember the name... had the tails that curled over their back. Big things.  :o   I didn't enjoy camping until we had our own little camper & made sure no bugs inside!  This trip I had 5 wasps that must have hatched out in the vents & came in... I got em all....... :knuppel2:

Cats to feed & guess I'd better have a bite before going to bed... forgot to eat any supper. The insurance man & a roofer were here from 6:00 pm until about 7:30 looking over the roof.  Won't get the verdict until next week because of holiday. I don't want to mess with a new roof... I thought "Lifetime" really meant it would last as long as I lived here...  :'(

I enjoyed all the postings here today. Have missed seeing the Videos made by you Jean. Miss Jack also.
I am thinking of all the years I was a camper. Starting out in the tents and them going into the off the ground camping such as trailers and then motor homes. How things have changed over the years. All my camping friends gone now. Such fun we had. What a country we have here Places in every State.
It seems that we don't have many people heading out anymore. use to see campers, motor homes one right after another when on the Interstates. Maybe it the cost of petrol now. I remember people saying they were getting only 8 miles to a gal.  Lots of the camping areas we used when tent camping changed over to first class. All electric . Hated to see the people putting up clothes lines and laundry. TV outside. Making like their homes. Sort of spoiled the feel of camping.Loved to see the ones Bubble did show. That was my favourite way.

Don. Now your place looks so nice. Well Kept. Much larger than I figured it to be. Glad you are happy there. We all really miss these Sundays of listening to you on the Computer playing music. I would have thought someone would have taken over you spot. Could never have been the same though. But you keep well, Keep in touch with a when you can. Glad that you and Bubble can keep intouch through The Web. one good thing about the Tech. world. It does seem to now be going to fast for me. Hard to keep up with the changes so Technical.

Mary ann. Thanks for the Grand Haven new site. Great one.

Guess what:  Plane or Bird?

It looks like
a bird to me...

I say it's a bird, too, but it is so hard to tell.

Shirley - Bubble...
....I too would say a bird but if Concorde was still up in the sky, I might have said a plane but sadly Concorde's now have been grounded...Although i do have one photo of one flying over our famous Kew Gardens but it is so tiny, so far away even if I try to enlarge the photo...

Spot the difference, now which one is the plane and which one is the bird? or are they both the same?
" There is no present like the time "

Shirley

Haha.... I did enlarge & enlarge & pretty sure it is something we don't often see in the sky here, a turkey vulture. They are common to Kansas but have only seen them once in the Wichita area. Ugly beasts but they can soar with the best!

Neat shot of the Concorde, Jackie. I have a photo of a plane that many worked on in Wichita, it did a "fly over" but no airport with a long enough landing strip for it. I'm not sure what the name is but not like the photo you have of the Concorde. I don't remember where it was put together, Wichita claims to be the "Air Capital of the World", but not sure if that rank still holds. We have a lot of aircraft people here.

I can't believe that it is pouring!!! I checked radar, nothing showing anywhere near. I opened the slide on the RV to get that bedding out & have the first load running & even checked radar before coming in here & still nothing showing.... I am really upset because I wanted everything to have a chance to air & dry out!  Not nice of Mother Nature to pull this~~

Such a good photo, Larry & Pat.... thank you so much for sharing it and your lives with us. Hope your "ears don't burn" too bad because I talk about you often, how you have taught us so much about daily life with congestive heart failure.  You have been truly blessed with grace, dignity and peace. Thank you, Bubble, for posting.

Mary Ann

What a wonderful picture of Larry and Pat.  It has been a trial getting it posted so all could see the picture.  Thanks be to everyone involved.

What a beautiful photo. Remember years ago. Like our grandparents time, woman was always standing behind the man when photo taken.

What a lovely photo of Larry and Pat. 🎉🎉

Going back a little. I think that is maybe a Canadian Goose flying Sort of see it little legs and feet hanging there. Must be heading for our town. place is full of them. Make such a mess. Started with them putting all the man made little lakes infront f the Malls and people letting their kids feed them. We had great parks and lagoons where they are also. these I find O.K. Other than just stay off the grass. Dirty.

They looked like they were having fun.  I noticed a car and the lawn was cut.  Would be unusual to see wild animals in that setting.

How cute! They almost look tame!

We have dealt with smoke from several fires in the last sixty or so days. We had a heavy drenching storm with bright lightening and loud punctuating thunder. It didn't seem to help with the smoke.

thanks bubble for posting the pic of Larry & Pat.  they are so beautiful, their faces shining with blessings.  Also noticed a great pic of our Radioman, hope he knows how much we miss him and his Music!

so_P_bubble

From your photos Angel, I feel as if I can smell that smoke!

angelface555

Good morning from a cooler Interior with a high of 74 expected. The wet thunderstorms,(meaning without lightening); and wind we've had since Friday and expect through next Thursday seem to have achieved their object with most fires contained or close enough. We still have some smoke, but now the hills are partially visible. I understand that most of the issue was steep forested areas with the only way in by helicopter.

Many trees had fallen due to fire at their roots, and that also impeded access. Dora and Allen, among others, are going home tomorrow, but some will stay later until the all-clear given for their areas. I was worried as they had been saying if they had to, the army would have flown us out, but pets were unclear. Luckily due to the fire crews and all who came to help us were able to work in such hazardous conditions where the only access was by helicopter or drop. I and others will always be grateful to all of the brave men and women who helped in dangerous conditions. Many pets and working animals also owe their lives to these bold, trained souls.

Shirley

Amy, I thoroughly enjoy watching the fox play... we had 2 here one time & I noticed the cats stayed away with 2 but not afraid of a lone fox. Tom & Tiger played like that but Tom is such a clutz & rolls Tiger over so Tiger gets up & walks off. They are not equal in size & she doesn't like being the underdog. I'm surprised your friend got so much time to watch/video them, that they didn't notice him. Great job.

Patricia, I did not realize it was that bad, that near. Glad it is better & do understand about leaving/taking pets. I could not have left them, either. We visited Yellowstone the year after fires there & was scary to see how barren it looked. How long has it been since that land had burned underbrush off?  Kansas had terrible fires a few years ago, but the Flint Hills does a burn off nearly ever year. Driving through after dark it was awesome to see the miles of flames. Can't help but think of the wildlife that gets trapped.... makes me sad.

Oh, Jean, I just saw that a man died from being in the water near Dustin... are you being warned about it? How far is that from where you live now?

Vanilla-Jackie

Yes the link worked for me in UK, loved the foxes playing...
