If you click all the codes in advance it should keep your cursor in between the opening and closing tags, allowing you to just type without having to manually add the codes in.

Ok.  here I am trying again. Thanks,  Oldiesman.  I hope I am doing what I read from you.  This is really getting addictive. LOL

This has been an off day for me. woke up feeling lousy, crabby, un-easy, and it hasn't improved. I did get a bunch of paper work sorted out, and an email to my Gary...asking for help, as usual. I am so glad he is patient and understanding. This typing size is blinding me. I have tried control, with using the mouse to scroll...nothing......I have gone to Preview, Nothing. I need a size four, as it turns out when I click post. So I will have to say less in fewer words.

I think you just got through to me, Oldiesmann, and I am that old Missouri hillbilly that can't learn except by "showing me". By the way, my mother's maiden name was Oidtmann (actually, Von Oidtmann) from Germany with a French mother, are your ancestors German, or like mine, a mixture?

Larry, thanks for the tips, my daughter called on their way back to St.Louis & said the same thing so I got the job done, still haven't figured how to get other cities for weather, but that, too, will be found one of these days. I'm anxious to see how this comes out... I've always typed everything & then went back to highlight & do the cods... only with this new software, I was having to highlight for each part of the code. I still don't find the balloons or even the row of crazy faces like the old stuff. Maybe my computer is tired, too.

Where are the codes I should click in advance ???

I'm not entirely sure what heritage my relatives are, though there was some German on at least one side of the family. My username is just a Germanization of "oldiesman" - I was taking German in high school at the time and wanted a nick I could use everywhere ("oldiesman" is a very popular nickname).

Denver

A good Sunday Evening HELLO to EVERYFRIEND!

It was a much warmer day today here in the Mile High City. The weather was extremely cold yesterday while we were at the Starlighting Ceremony where Kate and her dance troop danced.  They all did a wonderful job and smiled throughout the entire time in spite of nearly getting frost bite.  It was 22* while they were dancing.

LARRY, this function yesterday was held in the little town of Castle Rock and yes, it was held on several of the roped off streets of the downtown area.  It is a delightful time with many booths of interesting things, but the cold sure put a damper on it.  We we're luckily able to park quite close in a handicap spot, and I walked directly to the spot where Kate danced and then directly back to the car. In past years I have been able ride my electric cart and enjoy all of the festivities.  Maybe next year we will get lucky and it will be warmer.

We will be driving up to Vail on Wednesday to join Dave and Family for our Thanksgiving.  Our drive up looks clear, however snow is forecasted for Thanksgiving Day and on Friday.  Guess that means we might have a sketchy drive home.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SANDY. I hope you enjoyed a special day.

Enjoy your evening.

I'm just stopping by to check in.  I finished all the candy cups today and sampled them all.  They passed inspection so they will be given for gifts as appropriate.

LARRY,  the "oddball" ones that I refer to in other posts are cups like the peanut butter and coconut that I always make but these are different flavors and not always the same flavors.  I like to have some surprises.  This year I did black raspberry, peppermint and rum flavor.  I put them in appropriate colored papers and use different kind of chocolate on them.  For the rum I used dark chocolate because that's what I like.  For the peppermint, the centers were colored green and the the coating is a light green, the raspberry are in milk chocolate.

They are all done now and the table is cleaned off.  All I have to do is the chocolate pretzels for two people, peanut clusters for a couple people and peanut butter ritz bits for my oldest dauther who is always there when I need her. She always says "Ypu don't have to make them just for me but she that's the one she always eats first.  So I do!

Now I'm off to dreamland and if I'm not too tired when I come home from work, I'm going to make Amy's gumdrop cake tomorrow and roll out potpie dough...some to eat and some to dry for giving to certain family members who love it so they can have it even when I'm not there.

Good night everyfriend!  Sleep peacefully and wake refreshed and may God bless us, every one.

NOTE:  Forgot to tell you Emma was baptized today!  I'm happy and relieved!

Good morning everyone..

18 ° F this morning...not a day to wear your swimsuit!! Need to pick up some flour, then I can get my pastry made and some apple pies too!.

Bubble, sorry for what you have to go through.A lot of extra work and worry for you because of a dishonest person. Hope you resolve your problems an soon..understand you have a lot on your plate to deal with.

Joy, way to go!! See in time we will all get it,we just have to be patient with ourselves and everything will fall into place.

Jane, almost shorted out my keyboard reading about all the goodies you are making and have made!!

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good Morning Everyfriend!  We're waiting for the boinger for the doggies pill then we'll have breakfast and get ready to meet my public at WM.  This week before Thanksgiving is always a busy one.  However, if I get a register at the opposite of the food end, it might not be so bad.  I hope!

BUBBLE, that's awful about your car!  I'll never understand how anyone can take anything that doesn't belong to them!  You sure do have your time occupied with unwanted chores!

AMY, the candy will mostly go out the door by Chirstmas.  If it didn't, I'd be buying all new clothes by Easter.  I'd have outgrown (sideways) all the ones I have now.

Boinger is going off.  My day begins!  Make yours a good one.  Fill it with what pleases you most.

Just want to see if this part still works, but I can't find all my crazy faces & the extras, I love the one pulling out the tissue & crying, fits the bill lots of time.

Thanks for explaining your pesudonym, Oldiesmann, for a long time I thought it was, but since you never slipped up... maybe someone called you Michael one time??? I just had to ask.

Sorry about all the extra problems, Bubble, at this stage even a little change of routine is big trouble to me so extra hugs for today.

Jane, you wear me out with all that candy making plus the other cooking you do. Remember when Joan was taking care of us we got demerits for that dirty word "WORK".. you'd be buried under demerits.

Amy, same goes to you, I'd love to live between the two of you & would look for ways to help so I would be on your donation list!

June, I'm guessing your "off day" may be from the frustration of having to figure our "cluttered" house, like someone else cleaned for us & while it may look better, can't find a thing! If when you start a post, first go to your far right where all those symbols are, "mouse over" each one until you come to just about the middle of that whole row & the hand shows FONT COLOR...click on the color you want, move that hand to the left & it shows FONT SIZE-4 seems to work for everyone, next LEFT is FONT NAME.. I am using Times New Roman today but usually use Airal, then I slide that pointing finger all the way to the left & click on the B for bold. Just make sure if you move your curser for any reason, you bring it back to this point where the ending of the code starts. In case you didn't notice, I work from right to left doing this (Bass Aackwards), & I need my crazy face at this point.)

Cats are fed, I am going to eat & see if I can catch a few more zzzzzzzzzzs before daylight. We will overcome this challenge, I'm sure much needed & expert doing the job, thank you, Oldiesmann.

G'Morning all. Sorry to read that Bubble, not a nice experience to have to go through at the best of times, hope you managed to get it resolved quickly.

Good morning everyone, winter is not  officially here yet and
I am tired of the cold already. Thanksgiving day is supposed to be
the coldest so far not getting out of the low 20's for a high, makes
me feel like staying home. Makes we wish I had a down coat and the
jacket I have is warm. A coat is too much for me to handle getting
in and out of cars now.

LARRY  thanks for the link, I know how to change the font size in 10
it is in here I am having a problem. I think like others I am having
a problem in here. I really do not like this new change, first time
 I have had a problem in S&F.

OLDIESMAN  sorry but when I try what you say I still don't "get it".
Maybe more than my poor old brain can understand.

BUBBLE  so sorry about your car being stolen and then you having
to get a new one. Darn crooks.

AMY  I'll be there for a nice piece of apple pie.

JANE  will I was on that list for all those goodies you are making.
Between you and AMY with all the baking and cooking you both
do maybe I could get back some of the too many pounds I lost.

SHIRLEY  wonder if JOAN would have given demerits for coo‌king
and baking? Yes WORK was a forbidden thing with  her because
we are retired now, except for Jane.

Good morning.  The sun is trying to come out,  but it is so cold.  Thanksgiving day is supposed to be the coldest day so far and it isn't even winter yet.

Bubble, I am so sorry about your car being stolen.  I sure hope that you will get all your problems solved very soon and without a lot of hassle for you.  Hope your son/daughter is helping you sort everything out.

Gloria,  I can hardly read your message this morning.  I  can understand how confusing all this new stuff can be to us all. Just persevere and PLEASE DON"T GIVE UP !  We need all of you.

Jane, all your candy sounds so good.  Lot of work, I  know, but I also know you enjoy doing it.

I hope everyone has a great day.  Let's see how this works !

Bubble, what a horrible thing to have your car stolen.  I'm sure you had special features to accommodate you.

Gloria, in the third section from the left (fourth from right) there is an A with a red line beside it.  It is for font size.  Many of us use 4 but you click on the one that suits you.  My eyes are not what they used to be and it was very hard reading your post this morning.  If you want to make things Bold, click on the B at the very left of those sections.

I'll repeat what I put in earlier.  It may seem a lot of work to you, but if you want US to read your message, do this for US!  When you have finished writing - Highlight your copy, then click on the B, highlight again and click on the A with red line for font and choose your size, highlight everything again, click on the color dots and choose a color (if you want to change).  Post.

You must highlight everything with every function.  I'm sorry if it seems a lot of work, but if you want US to read what you write, you have to do it.

Hi Everyone. It is a nice morning here and we should get up to around 68 degrees this afternoon.  I expect to have a quiet day.  A friend has been here for a couple of hours and just now left.  Since I wrote late yesterday afternoon I just wanted to check in this morning and say I am still here and looking forward to the day.

Joy, you want to start typing after the last code without the slash in front of it since that code with the slash turns off the function you want such as bold or the color or size. If you put all the codes in before you start typing and place the cursor in the middle before the [/ it will apply all three codes to what you type. I am sure sometimes my instructions are not as clear as they could be or I give too much information. You don't really need the ending codes so try your posting without retyping them and see if you don't get the same result. Years ago when I was doing quite a bit with the HTML codes I was thought you always needed to close the codes at the end if you are not changing coding beyond where you have typed it isn't necessary and this usually the situation with our day to day postings. We each should do what is comfortable for us as one way isn't any better than any other.  I see Oldiesmann has given you the same information.

Linedancer, sorry I confused your grandson with your nephew. I went back and reread your posting and see it was the father of Keith that was in rehab and not Keith.  I just misread your posting and my mind focused on your grandson.  What a kind and caring neighbor you have.

June, hopefully Gary will be able to help you with your problem in getting the coding as you want it to give you the size of print you want. If you scroll down to the "Quick Reply" posting box at the end of the page you will see the codes about the posting box. You can hit the Preview button and the smileys are there under the other codes and you can continue your posting in the Preview posting box.

Shirley, your posting looks great.

Jenny, thanks for the information on the Castle Rock event.  I hope you have warmed up as being out in a 22 degree temperature sure wouldn't be fun. Maybe you will just have to stay an extra day or so in Vail if you get snowed in.

Jane, thanks for the info on "the oddball" candies as I had thought it was some special recipe.  You had mentioned using the different flavoring before but I didn't put the two things together.

Bubble, I don't think you had mentioned having your car stolen.  That is terrible and going through the process of getting a new one is a real task.  I have always dreaded buying a new car as end of feeling I probably have been taken advantage of as am not a good bargainer.

Amy, at least it isn't as cold as you had yesterday morning.  Apple pies sound good.

Shirley, hope you were able to get a few more ZZZZ's this morning.  It will soon be time for my afternoon rest.

Roley, thanks for telling me the number of grandchildren you all have.  Your wife is really ahead of the game having completed the Christmas shopping for them. We just send each of our great grandchildren money as we never see them and have no idea what they want or need and other than online shopping we just aren't up to shopping in stores for presents.

Gloria, sorry you are still having problems with the coding here and getting it to be what you ant.

Shirley

I have the first 2 layers on to go out & rake leaves, would love to hire someone to do it but "they" want to charge an outrageous amount & it's one job not worth their prices. They won't work for $20 an hour, for sure~~

I'm really going to post to see if those smiley faces will show up, Larry.  :nanadance:  :bravo:  :cheer:  Yep, all there!

Merry Monday, Everyfriend,

MaryAnn,  I do just the opposite.  I click B and then size and then color (if I want to change).  My blinking marker shows between the ] and the [  and I leave it there to start typing. Do the same thing when I want to change color for a word - except I have to remember to move my marker past the ] after color.
Clear as mud??   :crazy2:

Oldiesmann,  must confess I thought of your name as a play on words, a/k/a  "Oldies' Man" (Not that you'd ever be that impertinent, of course.  ;D )

Weather has changed again - now sunny and cold.  Fortunately, it's supposed to stay sunny and warm up a bit through Thanksgiving.  That means my Grands who are coming home from school will get here o.k. but I'm concerned about the one driving back to Kansas City by herself on Sunday.

Shirley,  would appreciate it if you'd push the predicted snow back to Nebraska until she gets there.

Pretty sure I have all the ingredients for the dressing and chocolate dessert but think I'd better check again.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Amy

Shirley, you would not need to help in any way other than just open the door for some goodies. I am sure Jane would say the same thing. I would love to help with leaf raking though. The smells and sounds of the rustling leaves makes it all worth while. WOW.that is a lot of $$$ for raking leaves....goodness!!

We finally found out who the good neighbour was that raked our pine needles...so a card and a pair of rawhide mitts were left on his doorstep .:)

They're all still there - just not on the quick reply by default. You can click "Preview" after typing the text in the quick reply box or just click the blue and white "REPLY" button at the bottom of the post to access the full editor. If you do want them there all the time even on quick reply, go to the "Look & Layout" section of your profile (click your name in the top left then click "Look & Layout") and check the "Use full editor toolbar in Quick Reply" box, then save the changes.

Callie, a quick note to let you know that "if your grand EVER has a problem in the Wichita area, she can call me & I'll get there if possible"... but I try not to drive after dark so tell her to drive during the day time. One time when driving from Liberal to central MO for Christmas, we got stuck on Van Brunt Blvd in KC... the entire street was packed 4 cars wide from top to bottom with stalled cars, worst hill in KC. The baby & a 6 year old, Cas & me. Finally the car would not run anymore so Cas wrapped his head in a spare baby blanket & walked to the bottom of the hill to the only place of business open... was told every hotel, motel in town was full. While he was gone a man came along & knocked on the window & offered to take us to his house for the night. He waited until Cas got back & we actually got in the car with a stranger. His wife & their small children had planned their Christmas for that evening because they planned to travel the next day to be with their parents. They really were just being nice. He took Cas to an automotive store next morning, Cas repaired the car & picked us up & we were on our way to be with my parents for the holiday & to buy another car while there, which we did, a Christmas to remember.  SO, my offer stands, I think I sent you my phone number one time (right)?

Thanks to everyone trying to help each other, we never know when something will "click".

I've been out & bagged 3 enormous bags of leaves & called it good for today, I'm tired & too hot with all these layers of clothes on.

Amy, I don't mind raking leaves but nobody in the whole neighborhood rakes but once & that's when all trees are bare.

I saw a spider walking along the base of the bag holder so didn't enjoy the job anymore. I had been helping rake leaves when we lived in Leawood (center of KC) when I got a brown spider bite that was no fun to deal with. Think I am done for the day. I am not kidding, you can't get anyone to work for $20 an hour around here.

Michael, I do like your name, easier to spell, too. I did find all the little goodies & hope everything becomes "normal" for all of us soon. Since I forgot to put the code in first, I will copy this post to my clipboard, go do the code & paste it back in the first & last parts of the code. More than one way to skin a cat!
;)
