Good Sunday Afternoon,  Everyone,
from the chilly/cold rocky coast of Maine.

"Sandy, it would be a real problem to remove
cheese from our diet as we use a lot of it in cooking
 and on sandwiches.  Larry

Cheese  has been the most difficult
food for me to illuminate from my diet.
As I,  like you Larry,  love CHEESE!
Of all kinds!!
But I have found out thru trial and error
that Dairy is a big part of my dreaded
rash problem.      No Dairy,  No Rash.

That pretty much says it all.
And yes,  I do miss the cheese,
all cheeses,  but not the rashes.

These days I have learned to just do
what I find out works well,  and
try not to fret over it.   Not EASY!!!!!

"Is your area in line with the snow
expected in the  NE in a couple of
days?"    Larry

I believe that more snow is
headed in our direction   (North East)
but it looks like we might get lucky
and have it go "out to sea" below
us on the East Coast.

I hope so, anyhow.    I am sick
of late Winter  plaguing us  here in

  :frog:

Thanks for those pictures!
It is too back that you can't get around
easily  so that you could get to see more.

I am enjoying all of the pictures

Oh boy,  would I love to eat lots of
cheese..   I love it.  All kinds.

But unfortunately,  I have stopped eating "dairy"
so cheese is out for me....
I actually feel better not eating dairy,  so
I am not tempted to go back my cheese loving

Weather here is very "Springlike for New
England" ....  which means cool,  sunny,
windy, including East Winds off the ocean,
and generally weather that one has to dress
warm for.   Because if the cool doesn't
get ya,  the windy East Wind,  will  !!!!

Have a good day everyone.
I am staying home and watching the
the news,    which tends to make
my belly ache these days.
(Oh woe is us,  here in the USA!)

If you have not already signed up for hulu,  you
can get a free weeks trial to see how you like it...
and during that free week get the whole first
season of A Handmaids Tale.

I like that we can sign up for channels
like showtime, cinemax, hbo,  hulu etc  and
can see them one month at a time and cancel
when we want to ...   I am on Roku so I often
sign up for them via Roku.   Where I control
what special stations that I want to watch,
whenever I want to watch them.

Hulu is a great station that I stay on.

Once I finish watching  "The Looming Tower" ,  I
am going to have to watch it again....  each time
finding out more and more about the "story"
behind it.     My memory is giving me fits
ever since I suffered a number of strokes 5
years ago....  so it behooves me to re watch
stories that  contain a lot of information...

(Oh woe is me)..  any how,  at least I have the
time now to re watch whatever I want,
as many times as I want to.   :idiot2:

Funny,  I am watching "Homeland"
on Showtime,  and I am liking it better
then before!

Also I am watching "The Looming Tower" on
Hulu ...

(Tracing the rising threat of Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda, it takes a controversial look at how the rivalry between the CIA and FBI inadvertently might have set the stage for the tragedy of 9/11 and the war in Iraq. ")

With all that is going on in  our Government
these days  (I will not elaborate),  as this is
not the place for that,  I am
finding both of these shows very interesting,
compelling and a bit frightening but I
can't stop  watching them.

Yes that old storm went right over us,
dropping lots of snow.    But since the
weather is warming very quickly,
it won't be around here but for a
couple of days...

This year we had a number of storms that
left the ground dirty white for quite
a while.    We don't usually get so
much snow the first weeks in March,
but "Old Man Winter"  likes to trick
us, once in a while,  and so he has
this year.

Knowing that Spring is right around the
corner makes  late blizzards  easier to
get through.

Tomorrow I am going out with Kelly to
get my weekly errands run.    It is suppose
to be a nicer day.

Best wishes to everyone,

dispersing our holdings, and savings
before a sick patient has to get care,
( and  medicare takes over),
has to be done (I believe) five years
prior to when the patent enters a home.

You need to speak to a lawyer and
have him/her explain how they
determine how much one is worth
when apply for help via the
medicare system.

It is very eye opening...
and can cause much grief.

Marilyn I wish you all the best
at this time as Keith  starts to show
 more symptoms  "A"....

Sadly things do not get better as the
person that we love begins to
disappear before our very eyes,
and begins to act like a stranger.

The amount of sunlight that we get daily,
year round no mater what the season,
is not determined by the if we celebrate
daylight savings time or not.

It is where we live on the Earth and
the placement of our EARTH in relation

Click on the red above for a pretty good
explanation .....

Have a nice evening,  Everyone.

Good Afternoon Everyone
from the stormy rocky coast of Maine.

Good day to stay indoors...

I joined "NextDoor" one day and
cancelled it the next.

As I live in the city there are hundreds of
apartment building and lots of people
who joined this in my community..

I just decided that I didn't want my name and
location broad cast to all the city
dwellers here...      So I opted to
get out,  fast!!

Once a year I wear a "heart monitor"
for 24 hours then return it to the
 dr. office.

They check it to see how my heart is
doing BP, heart rate  etc.
As I am in AFib continuously,  this
also shows up on my monitor.

Is this the same type of "heart monitor"
that you have for just 24 hours???
Or do you have something else
more permanent.

June   .....

Just a bit of advice..

As the old saying goes
"The squeaky wheel gets oiled...

If I were  not satisfied with the
treatment that I was getting,
I would raise my voice and not stop
until something was done!

Even though I know how hard that is,
for you to do....   Just do it.

IMHO,  you are paying for services that you
are apparently not getting.

So be strong and advocate for your self.
You have earned this right.

Good Evening Everyone
from the warmer and dryer
rocky coast of Maine.

I am so sorry to hear that many people
are having problems finding and keeping their
providers for their health care.

I am fortunate to live very close to two
major hospitals that both accept
Medicare ...      and hopefully they will
continue to as I age.

It's inspection time here again... this Friday,
so I am working on getting things
organized,  again.

Have a good night,  Everyone..

I agree Jane.

Unfortunately,  most guns are available
everywhere,  and it is a personal choice
gun owners make to keep them out
of the reach of the mentally ill and  children.

It is so very complicated and political
here in the US  then I don't see how a
workable solution  will ever be reached
in our life time.

I know that this is a negative way to
view guns here in the USA,  but I
can't see the solution.   And if there is
a solution,  I can't see it politically

I choose to hope for a miracle ....
that will bring out the best in people,
in order for change to happen that might
help solve the gun crisis here in the the

Out houses in the North East...

Actually the room that was the "out house"
was between the house and the barn..

From the front of the house it was located on the
first floor...

Then to get to the area that needed cleaning,
one would go "out behind the house and barn" and down
the hill a bit  so that people could get to
the under part of the "out house/outhouse/barn"  and clean it
How often it got cleaned out depended
on the people that lived there...  My Grand
Mother would clean it out very very often.
That was her.    ::)

Life back in the old days was so very,  very
different then  life today.

Their times doesn't make much sense
to us and "our times"  would not have
made much sense to them ....

As it turns out,  it is all in what you get
used to and what you are comfortable with.

Things are moving so fast right now that
I spend most of my time  playing "catch up"..
And if I can't "catch up" then I settle
for what I can do,  and make the best
of that.

Have a good day,  everyone!

Regarding hobos...
My grand mother use to feed them also..
some times there would be a little work to
do,  in the garden or shovel out the out house...

ALL the hobos knew where to stop.  I think
that they "marked"  the houses that
were friendly to "hobos".

Which was located in the barn up on the second floor,
and the shoveling could be done from out
back.    So the out house was really inside....
except under it that needed to be shoveled.

Never smelled.   Didn't have time...  Granny used to
clean it out weekly  and move it to the garden for fertilizer.

I don't suppose today that would be legal...

Good Morning Everyone from the cool but
sunny rocky coast of Maine.

Regarding pain tolerance..
I suspect that I do have a high tolerance
for pain.    But of course,  pain is necessary
to warn us of problems,  like heart attacks
  etc etc...

I delivered four babies,  relatively
quickly,  the last two were "natural"
without pain meds, and very
they were very fast deliveries.

There is always good news and
bad news when it comes
to pain.  (As we all know)...
but I would rather  have a high
tolerance then the alternative!!

Of course, things could change,
 and probably will.

My heart is in constant Afib... but
because I do not feel it (like some
people do) they choose not to try
to attain  a sinus rythum   but instead
keep me on blood thinners,  watched
closely (Warfarin) ...  which I will be
on for the rest of my life.

Of course,  we all have something
that we have to get use to as we age,
and sometimes it drives us a little nuts!

Happy Birthday Larry...  if I didn't say so
before , but if I did,  Happy Birthday again!

Have a good day,  everyone..

Speaking of "Migraines with out the head ache"
I used to get them when I was younger ...

I would get them if I got physically stressed out.  Like after playing tennis.     I would play too hard for too long,  and they
would begin with my eyes getting blurry and sometimes
some lights....    I would have to lay down and rest for  a bit and they soon would go away.    I went to an eye doctor and he
told me that I was having a migraine.    Lucky for me,
no pain.      Of course if I were out driving around then I
would have to pull over and wait it out.

They never lasted too long.

You know that  I have migraines with out the pain,
and also shingles with out  very much pain.    And once
during an operation,  I woke up in the middle of it.  But
could not move.     I felt the stitching up,  but no pain from
that either.     I also had a spinal tap with no pain.  And
they set my  broken arm with out any pain reliever... (it did hurt, but I was able to control it by breathing through it)

I do get blood drawn every month and that rarely
hurts,    but when they put  in the  intravenous port
for the recent colonoscopy ,   now that HURT !!!!
 :tissue: :dizzy:

(So some things do hurt me.)
