...thank you so much in sharing your grand children's talent...do, or did you play violin? do their mother or father play?...I am wondering who's Idea that they take up playing the violin, does it run in the family? or was this the children's choice, what they wanted, what they all enjoy...sorry too many questions...

Thank you for seeing them. My first grand kid, Moe started to learn playing violin when she was a girl.  Mai and Atushi just followed her. That's all. No musical family. smile. Well, my mom used to be a musical teacher, piano, alto singer. I had a lesson on piano  from mom when I was a kid but I quit. smile

At last a break in the weather.  45 degrees now.  I returned from a church service around 11, asked Mimi if she was ready for a walk and she almost carried me to the car.   Just took one photo, the snow is melting and I was not the only one appreciating it.

Jack, good to see happy deer.  The poor birds are hunting for food also, I throw out some peanut butter toast this morning, the blue jay was eating a piece of it on the branch in front a my window, when a squirrel came up and took it aways from him. The bird feeder has one cardinal, one dove (which I use to have a lot of) of course sparrows, and a lot of snow birds. We use to have a lot of sea gulls in the winter, but I have not seen any so far.  I have had them land on my porch, when I threw out bread for the birds.

Bubble, Aviv is really concentrating and looks so interested in what he is doing.

Many years ago I took some classes in working with pottery.  We bought the clay slip and then mixed it with our hands (that was fun) before we could pore it in the mold we wanted to use.  Unfortunately, we didn’t have any classes using the wheel but only used molds.  But it was enjoyable to paint the various ceramics after they were fired and ready.  I hadn’t thought of this in such a long time.  The picture of your grandson brought back some pleasant distant memories.

We haven’t heard from Jack in several days which is unusual.  I hope he is OK.

FlaJean, I had a ceramic studio, for about 10 years. I had 3 kilns and over a 1000 molds. We had a building out back where my husband would pour the moles.  Monday and Tuesday nights I had classes., I even had a class from the Indian reser. they came over to make things to sell at the big Sept. Pow Wow. Their chief wanted in those days only American made. My son Dennis use to say, it does not smell like Christmas until, Moms firing gold.  A lot of 14 caret gold was use for a lot of trim, at the time of year. By the way I also had my job at the hospital.  So I was kept busy.  Even my sons helped out with the classes if they were large.

Always enjoy Jacks photos.

Jean, I am here and still checking in.  Two days ago it was 66 degrees, then dropped down to single digits. way up to 15 degrees, so not walking.   I share your interest in Bubbles photo.  I played in mud but only had one chance to handle clay on a wheel but went back to the mud.

Lin I do not have feeders, may be overprotective but do not want Mimi eating the seed and possible droppings, the sparrows have returned to my bushes but will not be fed.  Just read your comment on having a ceramic studio, interesting but I never pursued.

Linedancer, you have done a lot of interesting things in your life.  Think of you when we cross the Mid Bay Bridge into Destin and say to myself, Linedancer sure wouldn’t recognize this area if she saw it now.

Jack, I thought perhaps you had gone to your daughter’s for a few days.  So sad about Jeanne Lee’s passing.  With Pat also ill I wonder how things will go.  We are all getting older.  It is so cold right now, but if we get some warm days in Feb. Larry and I are planning to go to Gufarium Marine Park (which is not far from us) to take some photos and enjoy seeing the animals and water show.

Jean  I have been staying close to home.  The warm spell several days ago spoiled me.  Now snow and cold, to drop to 8 tonight.  Mimi loves the snow but I just let her run in the yard, just too cold and windy to go for a walk.

I did join my son this afternoon for a few drinks, this is a writing hung over the bar, and I got my shots. :D

Can't get over how much older Aviv looks with his hair cut shorter.  So nice he has the chance to try using the wheel.  I thought that was such fun, ended up with all kinds of little pots & vases, later tried sculpting figures.  What was Aviv's impression of using clay?

I also had classes with the "city arts" to do the ceramic type, like you mentioned, Gloria de.... made Christmas villages with all the little people for each family & the next year made them each the Dickens village.  You probably had all those molds.  I seriously thought about buying a kiln but didn't have a good place to put one  & then Cas got sick............

Jack, when we started an art guild years ago we wound up with lots of men that joined "because they always wanted to paint & didn't know how to start".... that slogan we stressed when organizing.  Men had mechanical drawing or drafting training so (I thought), had an edge on most of the women.  Love your photo over the bar.... that is a hoot.  You are lucky, most everyone I know our age can't drink at all because of medications..... you are in great shape & you look younger in every avatar.  By the way, those deer sure look healthy & fat.  We had a few nice days just before the bottom dropped out. Have chill index well below zero now & tomorrow.  Even closed schools for fear of children getting frost bite waiting for their school bus.

Jean, the slip came ready to pour in our classes, & the teacher did the firing so I didn't learn a whole lot (except patience trying to clean off extra clay around all those tiny windows)..... & painting.  I really enjoyed the sculpting, did a bust of my gr-daughter that even she recognized when she was about 3 or 4.  We had the teacher fire, painted the sculptures black & then did a metal type rub to make them look like metal sculptures (but they were still breakable).

Sue, somewhere I read you are hoping to make a trip this year.... sounds fantastic.  I regret being tied to the RV because of cats but we just deal with whatever our life becomes.  Hope all works out for you.

Jackie, love that gentle picture, just want to reach out and hug that kitty.

Shirley, I made a Nativity scene for the entrance years ago, the figures were 27inches. tall. I also made a few things in porcelain but that was very high firing and the sunk quite bit in size.  I did a lot of staining, beside glazing.  By the way HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I loved doing ceramics years ago.  It was very popular and lots of classes. Don't see it done anymore. Fact very few of any kind of classes going. Use to have the Adult Education and the high school nightly for 6 months of the year. Everything. Knitting, Art, cooking, Languages . book clubs and Macro ma (remember that).  Ask to have one open and they would do it. No more for 2 years. I still have the hanging plant vases in hanging Macroma. Also a few Steins.

Bubble, I do not have many pictures, got certificates from night school that said I could work in the beauty departments stores, also could work in florist.  I do have a lot of paintings.  My DIL has a wall in her dining room, that she calls Nanas  wall.  she said they make conversations when she has dinner parties.
