Mary...what is your full name....for FB?

JeanneP

Jane. What is the name of the Med that Ray was given for his Gout. Mine is just my one big toe. Not to bad until I walk on it but I will run into the Convenient care tomorrow if not cleared up. They don't always have a Dr. on but will tomorrow. Can't think what I have been eating this past few weeks. The do say Choc. will do it and have been eating lot of that.

Jeanne...my late husband had gout..and was given Alopurinol....don't know if that's correct spelling....it seemed to control his...CC

Darlene, it's "Mary Zelle"  - sorry, forgot I was "maryz" on here. :)

Darlene...you can find me on Facebook as Janeiowa. I'd be glad to add you as a friend.

Mary...I heard a hurricane was forming out in the Gulf.  It sounds as if you have a plan.  AND , you're right, we're all missing our Sharon.  I hope she's healing and can get home soon.

Hot and humid here again today.  The transport chair I ordered for Ray came today and we got it together.  I think it'll work well for us.
Now to get the portable oxygen concentrator so we can be out and about without the bulky oxy tank.

Darlene you can friend me on Facebook, Under Marilyn Fisher Riley. What name do you use on Facebook and I will look for you?

SCFSue

Good morning, Buddies.  I've had breakfast, read the paper and cleaned up the kitchen.  I am playing bridge today at 1:00 at Sara's home.  Terri will pick me up.  I need to press a skirt to wear with a t-shirt.  We will be playing in the sunroom at Sara's home (she lives in a small apartment in her daughter's home).  Otherwise, not much else to report except that the young man who repairs my AC came and got it back into running order was here with his nephew and it is now cooling the house.

Jane, the transport chair sounds like a winner for you and Ray.  Is it difficult to set up for a car trip or fairly easy?  I hope Ray is feeling well today and you both have a great day.

A big howdy to Marilyn, Jeanne, Darlene, Maryz, and Every Buddy looking in this morning.  It's dark here this morning and looks like rain.  I need to get out and walk before getting ready to go to bridge after lunch.  I hope I don't get wet!

Have a nice day, Every Buddy.

Jeanne...I thought I posted...Ray's on the same drug Darlene mentioned...allopurinol or some such spelling.  He doesn't take it every day because it's hard on the kidneys, his onc said.

JeanneP

I just don't care to take any drug that they say hard on Kidneys. It was years since i had it and it lasted on just my big toe about 5 days. Right now it seems to be easing off and so will just stay home today.  It will go to 102 deg by afternoon they say and so will just take a book, put feet up and see if it goes away. I am going out later and buy some cherries. Read in Med book that they suppose to help.
JeanneP

jane

Sue...the transport chair folds like a folding chair so easy to set up and load in back of car. A lot easier than a wheelchair.

As Jeanne said...very hot and humid here in the midwest.  Too hot for me to be outside.

Stay cool and safe, Buddies.  I hope Sharon gets to go home tomorrow.

It is now 5:30 and still not been to the store. It is 102 deg. the weather man just said. May have to wait until morning. Just hope A/C keeps running . It is about 8 years old now. Keeping it on 75 but the ceiling fans are all going to move the air around.

Great Jane that you will be able to handle getting the Chair into the car. There are some really nice ones on the Market. Now will it be so that can take into store to shop and not have to move into one of theirs? So many people use them now I would worry about how clean they now are. All our stores have about 20 lined up.

This storm is hovering south of us, but looks to be heading most to New Orleans.  We should get some heavy rain and higher tides, but so far, it's been sunny all day around here.  We're staying put - at least until we're told differently by someone in authority.

Good morning, Every Buddy. (although it is already 10:00!).  I've been up for a while, cleaned up the kitchen after breakfast, dressed and out for my walk.  I noticed that Sandra and Rob were home from Vanderbilt where she had tests and will have heart surgery soon.  He was out to his exercise place, so didn't see him--and he'll probably go to Kroger on his way home.

I don't have much planned for today except staying inside and reading now that I've completed my morning walk.  It's just too hot to do much out there!

Jane, I'm glad the transport chair is fairly easy to use (and put into your car's trunk!)  That should make it much easier to take Ray wherever he'd like to go--and not have to confine him to your home.  I hope he's feeling much better today and continues to improve.

Hi Sandy.  I tried to get to your facebook page, but wasn't successful.  Your picture of Fe is adorable.  How old is she now?

Mary, I've seen the weather reports and it does look like N. O. is going to get some bad weather.  Jon and Stacie have moved up to the northwest section of N.O. so may be able to miss some of the worst of it.  Alex and Nick are both home until school starts and I think they both have part time jobs.  However, Jon and Stacie are closer to Lake Pontchatrain (spelling?) and could get some flooding as they've moved to the lowest floor in their apartment building.  I hope your vacation place is OK.

Jeanne, I hope you're staying cool and out of the heat.  Take care!

Hi to all Buddies looking in.  Have a nice day, Every Buddy.

Happy Thursday, Buddies!

We did have some rain overnight, but this morning there is bright sunshine with blue skies and some puffy white clouds.  There is a strong breeze out of the SE, pushing some big (for this area) waves in, and much higher tides than usual.

And we've had a special treat.  The Blue Angels are based in Pensacola (just east of here) and they are giving a show at home this weekend.  They've been doing some practicing, and flying back and forth along the shoreline where we are.  So we sort of get a mini-show to enjoy.

Good afternoon, Buddies!
No rain here...just hot and humid.  It's to get hotter tomorrow and over the weekend.  We're about to get loaded up and head down to Cedar Rapids for my rheumatology appointment.  I have a feeling it's going to be a big waste of time and energy.  We'll probably pick up something to eat on the way home and call it supper and over.

Sharon posted on her FB page she walked a bit with her walker and hopes now to be home by the 17th.  I told her we all miss her.
Stay cool and safe!

MaryZ...there's 4 with this name....don't know which is you...try mine...darlenebaxterbullard

Cottoncandy

Jane...couldn't find you either on FB...

maryz

Darlene, my name looks like "mary zelle" and it says "retired" under my name.  The photo is of one of my paintings - reds and golds.  I sent you a couple of messages. Maybe we can make it work from there.

Marilyn

Darlene I found you on Facebook, but there is no friend request button on your page. you will have to send me a request. Marilyn Fisher Riley I did send you a message though

Cottoncandy

I don't have messenger on FB

maryz

Darlene, I just have the message place on my newsfeed page - don't know how anything else works.  Anyhow, if you can get to my name and there's a place to ask for a friend, I'll definitely do it.  And I'll keep trying from my end, too.

Nobody got back to me about doing any of the jobs I need doing. 3 said te were 5 weeks behind . Been a month. I still Ned the steps.
Got up at 6 this morning ad decided to get started on washing Down the big porch . Was so bad. Got painting the floor. Did with a roller. I now need to do the edges by brush. Worked 2 hours and come in. Just finished the other half. I get tired fast now. Will try again tomorrow t o do more. Will just then wait until  fall and look  for a handyman again. Tired of messing. At last looks cleaner. Doubt will use it this year much. Be soon over summer and they say hot for weeks still . Kids go ack to school in 5 weeks

Can't beiieve the flooding down south again. Looks awful. We should not e complaining . I don't thin kI could take that. Showing homes under water.

I think my big toe got better. Don't thin I Need to go check about gout. That had to be wha I was. I now read up o n what not to eat much of. Will stil get some cherries tonight. Can t hurt. Not fond of them though.

Good morning, Every Buddy.  I have had breakfast, read the paper, and dressed for Eddie to arrive.  I'm getting a much needed haircut at Great Clips near Kroger, returning library books, and then buying groceries.  I may need to go to the bank, too.  When all this is finished I plan to stay inside most of the afternoon as the temperature is going to be 95+!

Mary, woo hoo on seeing the Blue Angels every day.  Are you having lots of rain, too?  This morning's paper told about flooding in New Orleans.  Jon and Stacie have moved out to the heights, so I don't know yet if they are affected by the flooding.

Jane, thanks for the message from Sharon.  And I hope your rheumatology visit went well.  How is Ray feeling this morning?  Is it as hot in Iowa as it is here in Alabama?  I try to get outside and walk before 9:00, but since Eddie is coming to take me to get a haircut, library, and Kroger, I'll outside more than I'd like today.

Jeanne, I hope you hear from the people you've contacted.  It's frustrating to wait on responses.

Eddie just arrived and we'll soon be off to Great Clips.  Have a nice day, Every Buddy.
Sue

JeanneP

Great clips opened just down the road from me. I tried them for a trim last week .9.99 coupon. Did a good job. Will let her do it again. Got a $49 one while back. Just need it layered once a month. It was awful.
Again, it is going to be in 90s today. Doubt I paint.they have our water shut off. Burst end pipe some place in the street. 4th time this year. Lines getting old now. Mine new but the mains over 60 years. Cost us lot more now.
Will put better outfit on and go to store before noon.
I will not hear from handy men I am sure now. Seems they  just want to work so many hours a week. I know it must be hard outside in this weather.but then the complain about it being to cold in winter.
JeanneP

Off and on rain bands and sunshine.  It's very windy, and amazing surf for this area.  The water at high tide this morning was higher than we've ever seen it, but still not close to being under the house - which is on stilts in any case.  Today we're just staying in and enjoying watching the weather and the waves.  Two of our group had to head back home to Houston this morning, so unfortunately, they have to drive through the New Orleans area.  Hope they don't have any more problems than some rain.  We head for home tomorrow.  We've made our reservations for next year.  We've been in this particular house for maybe 18-20 years now, but we're trying a different one next year.  The rental agency has one with an elevator that is handicapped accessible, so we're going to try that one next time.  We feel like we're leaving an old friend, but I guess it's time.

Good morning, Mary and Every Buddy looking in this morning.  I stayed up late last night reading and am still in P.J's at 9:50.  I've cleaned up the kitchen, read the paper, and will get dressed shortly and get my walk in.  We've had no rain here, but could get some this afternoon.  I am keeping my eye on the New Orleans area.  Jon, Stacie, and the boys are in the upper heights not too far from the lake.  I will call them shortly and hope they'll come up if the hurricane is going to be near them.

Not much else going on here today.  As soon as I get off the computer, I'll dress and get out for my morning walk.

Mary, I think it's great that you can move into a condo with an elevator next time.  So much easier than walking up stairs!

Jane, I hope Ray is feeling well today.  Keep us posted.

Jeanne, yesterday when Eddie was here to help me, he took me to Great Clips for a haircut.  It's shorter than I'd like, but will grow out--and so much cheaper than I was paying a hairdresser to cut it once a month.  Eddie gets his hair cut at the Great Clips, too.  It's in the same parking area as the Kroger store I use.

Have a nice day, Every Buddy.

Darlene...I don't know why you couldn't find me on Facebook.  Try Jane Iowa  or https://www.facebook.com/jane.iowa

I found your page but noway to reach you except by messenger and you said you don't have that anymore.  Maybe you can find me with the link above.

Jeanne...I don't think there are many "handymen" around anymore.  We have one here in town, but he is so slow, it's maddening. He charges by the hour, of course, and did some painting for us last year or the year before. Ray finally had to tell him...after 3 weeks working on the porch trim that he would be finished on Friday of that week...that our money for this had run out.  We ended up finishing the back porch that he never got to in a 1/2 day. Grrr!

Mary...safe trip home tomorrow...Our tv showed lots of rain going up into TN, too.

Sue...I don't know how you can walk in this weather. Maybe you're a lot more use to it than I am. It's in the 90s here, as Jeanne said, and so humid.  We had a brief shower this morning, but nothing to help the humidity here.  It's to be like this for the entire next week.  July in Iowa...so hot and humid...but the corn and soybeans love it. :smitten:   Me...not so much :2funny:

I hope our Joy is ok in Baton Rouge.  LA is sure being inundated with floods.

Sharon posted she had a visit from Bunny yesterday...picture of John bringing Bunny in to see Sharon. I'm sure that cheered her up.

I need to get out and make a quick trip to WalMart and then hole up for the rest of this hot Saturday.

Now I thought that Sharon was back home. Sure keeping her in much longer than I thought would be needed. NOw is that picture in her FB. Who is posting them for her. I can't remember what name she goes under on there. I very seldom use FB

I think the heat is getting to me. I feel so sleepy. I think it is more from Bordon from Staying indoors. I just dont even do anything inside either. Eating to much also. I did get a lot of fruit in so could not be eating Snack food like cookies, Ice cream etc.
It is the Champaign County fair next week I believe. It does seem to always rain for in and so maybe it will cool down a little. Rained every day last year and it got flooded out. sad thought. they need the money.
