Just finished reading that. I love her singing and all of her movies! Gone is a great lady.

Doris Day,  was so much more than just a great singer and a talented movie actress.  She was a kind, generous and compassionate woman.  When she retired from her music and movie career, she devoted the rest of her life to working and raising money for rescue, and veterinary care, for abandoned and mistreated animals . . .  both domestic pets and wild animals.  She founded, and was active in the Doris Day Animal Foundation.  Even though she is now gone, her foundation will continue on,  doing the good work she started.

It's been all over the local news here in Cincinnati because she grew up in this area. I'm mostly familiar with her thanks to the song "Whatever Will Be, Will Be", which was a staple on the local AM "adult standards" station that I used to listen to in high school (they played mostly pop music from the 40s and 50s, but sadly that station has changed formats a few times since then). Very talented lady indeed.

Yes it was on our UK news too...

I am all for anyone who devotes their time on any animal rescue - mistreated animals and wildlife, they certainly go up in my esteem as a caring and a compassionate person...

Yes Rest In Peace Doris Day...
