A Scottish mother visits her son in his New York City apartment and asks, “How do you find the Americans, Donald?”

“Mother,” says Donald, “they’re such noisy people. One neighbor won’t stop banging his head against the wall, while the other screams and screams all night long.”

“Oh, Donald! How do you manage to put up with them?”

“What can I do? I just lie in bed quietly, playing my bagpipes.”

Oh, Bubble, I could see that punch line coming and I still laughed.

Good morning Everyfriend.  I sure didn't expect to be first after our "opener".  I'm feeling considerably better today but I called off work.  I think one more day of doing nothing is what I need.  However, I don't get to vote for staying home.  I'm thinking that, since I will be going to work tomorrow, I might just sneak out right before the polls close and cast my vote.  In a small town like this, I'm sure to meet someone who knows I called off, no matter when I go.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and that the weather is just as you want it to be.  I think the rain is gone here and the sun is supposed to shine.  Like in Oklahoma...

The "grass" is as high as an elephant's eye....."  and all the dandelions have gone to seed.  MORE DANDELIONS ON THE WAY!

Good morning everyone...

We may get rain here but I hope not until after I take my vehicle in to get a body part fixed. I washed both vehicles yesterday and picked dandelion heads so they wouldn't go to seed. I am sure lots more will poke their heads up. We have to wait for VON then we can go after.

Jane, rest is good and hope you feel way better as the day goes by.

Made blueberry pie yesterday and put some in the hidey hole for everyone.

Bubble loved the graphics and sending the joke onto a Scottish friend of mine . Thank you!

Enjoy your day everyone..

It's already a better day.  I do feel better however, my cold is still here...runny nose, cough, sneezes...not as often and not as bad.  So I guess I'm on the road to recovery.

And I'm the proud owner of a new gasket attached to a some kind of valve in my potty.  The plumber was very nice and didn't complain of the tight working quarters...at least not to me.  And he liked the doggies.  That gives him an A+ in my book.

Just a note on small time businesses....this guy works for a plumber who is the grandson of the very first plumber I ever had after going to housekeeping in this town.  And I went to school with his father who was also a plumber.  We have several third generation businesses around here including my family.  It's kind of a nice family feeling.

Hi Everyone. We expect to have some rain thought out the day and also tomorrow and a nice downpour has just begun.  I expect we will just stay home today and stay in where it is dry with less chance of slipping and falling on a wet surface.  Pat had a rough day with the back pain yesterday so we didn't go out as I had thought we might but just stayed in.  Fortunately we had plenty of left-over spaghetti casserole that combined with a salad made a good dinner meal.  We have a couple of Marie Callendar TV dinners in the freezer that we plan on having for our main meal today.  I will just have a quiet day and will likely do a bit of reading as am into a good book and also a good audio book.

Bubble, thanks for starting the new week off with that beautiful graphic.  It shows such trust and love in the expressions on the two faces.  I got a chuckle out of the second graphic but can you explain the background?  Are they escaping from something or is grandma just enjoying her second childhood? I liked the bagpipes funny as well.  Unlike Jane I didn't see the punch line coming.

Jane, great to see you are feeling better today but you are wise to give yourself another day of rest. You certainly have a legitimate reason to stay away from your counter today but no one should question your going to vote as that usually doesn't require much time or effort and won't prevent you from getting added rest today. I have always wondered why we don't like the dandelions as one of the first blossoms of the new year.  We certainly didn't worry about them on the farm and they made great playthings for kids. Nice to know the families of the people we hire to work for us.

Amy, washing vehicles is a tiring job and it doesn't sound like you took it very easy yesterday.  Hope you are able to get your car fixed and the rain waits until you are home.  Blueberry pie with a little vanilla ice cream sound delicious and with blueberries one doesn't have to deal with the seeds.

Shirley

Good Morning, World!  Cloudy, muggy & not sure what will happen with weather today.  Pool guy started yesterday, drained & rinsed out the rest of the water .... (so it rained last night & undid that job). Not heard yet if they will be back to sand blast today but probably not, unless they decide to... that really is how my days are going, "whatever will be, will be".

Bubble, love the graphics, that big wheel tricycle reminds me of the one I got at 6.... I had been saving my pennies and finally had enough to buy that big trike, thought I was the luckiest kid in the world to be able to fly down the sidewalk so fast.  To be honest, this was the first toy I every had that was new, not hand-me-down, and exactly what I wanted.  At Christmas my mother could not imagine a little girl not loving dolls and new hand made clothes for those dolls (like my sister did), and I sure wouldn't hurt her feelings by not acting excited about them. I have no doubt my savings did not cover the total cost, but they let me believe.

My toys were pets, the dog that Dad gave me for my 6th birthday was more a family pet & my best friend. The chicken my aunt gave me really was MY pet & went everywhere in the neighborhood with me.  I was always happy but that tricycle was like giving a Ferrari to a 16 year old.  With the war years we didn't get many new toys, plus being the 5th child there was plenty to play with, and I did not even know such a trike existed until I saw it.  My parents already knew we were moving to another city because of the war, so were going out of their way to make it easier for us kids.  It was okay for me, a rental house on a busy street, but interesting.

I had more kids to play with but one boy across the street was a trouble maker.  Right off the bat he jumped on my trike & wrecked it, bent the wheel & frame so it couldn't be fixed.  It disappeared and never heard another word about it, but I was glad when that family moved away! Here it is about 75 years later & I still don't know what my parents did with it, probably went "for the war effort" being metal. Do y'all remember favorite toys & wonder what happened with them?  Love the bagpipes...

Larry, I've been dining with Marie C quite a bit lately but yesterday I cooked a pot of pinto beans with the best package of ham shanks I've ever seen.  Can't believe how many I ate, even froze a bowl full to take on my next camping trip to MO where I'll have electric hook ups & can microwave.

Jane, any chance your sniffles could be allergies?  Right now the pollen is over the top here, pine, elm & everything popping out. We used to think of allergies only in the fall but this area they are year around. Yep, we gotta vote or can't gripe, right?  I need to adopt a plumber, this house still has the iron pipes (built mid-60s) so all the innards of faucets & plumbing need replacing constantly.

Amy, I've got to scrub off the windshield of the RV & put on more RainX, really helps when wind blown dust/mud covers in Western KS & Eastern CO.  So bad one year the wipers & washers couldn't move so had to stop at a station & get out my long handled brush to clear off before it dried.  I get a few looks when I drag out my little step stool to wash that windshield but have to get high enough to reach across.  Fresh RainX makes the job easier.

I called DorisA last night, she's hanging in and always asks especially about you, Gloria.  I called her when Joan passed away but she says she just can't get interested in the computer again.  She asked about Lloyd, having met him a number of times at the Missouri Gatherings.  Glad I could tell her that you reported in yesterday, Lloyd.  You didn't have much to say, hope you are doing okay.

Better get moving, have not heard from pool people so may have a bite of lunch & get a few zzzzzzzzs to make up for last night.

Bubble. I got a chuckle out of the second graphic but can you explain the background?  Are they escaping from something or is grandma just enjoying her second childhood?

I think she is having fun but losing all she has in her knitting bag. Maybe they also crash through the greenery?  That might be why she is not smiling :)

Good Morning from a drippy dreary central Oklahoma.   I got to my regular hair appointment but came directly home instead of doing errands.  Good day to stay inside.

Bubble,  love the graphic.  I think grandma is having the time of her life but not about to let anybody know it.

I came home from church Sunday to find #2 son busily planting coleus and periwinkles in my flower beds.  The three Knockout roses he planted two years ago are in full bloom, as are the plants I'd already put in the pots.  Looks as if it will be a colorful summer....IF I can keep up with the watering.

Shirley, one of the HOA sprinkler heads (over which I have no control) throws water on a back window and leaves a hard water film.  Would the RainX help with that?

JaneS,  the wind has really been "sweeping down the Plain" the past few days - 90+mph winds in the western part of the state.   Hope your "colt" has gone back to the barn and you're feeling 100% better.

The third generation of the plumbing company I've used for 35 years is beginning to take over management duties.  I remember his dad  telling me he remembered coming to my house with his dad.  New one needs to work on a few management skills re: appointments but the service is still as good as ever.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

:hugs: to all.

Shirley

Callie, I did a quick Google & found this link... https://www.rainx.com/products/for-the-home/ but didn't take time to read much, but if it works on a shower for hard water, can't see why it wouldn't work on windows.  Not sure if it would be best to use one type for outside, but bet you could find out with that link.  I am SO impressed with how much it helps the windshield, I'm using a small bottle that Cas had so no idea how much it costs, like at AutoZone, etc.  Can't believe I didn't even notice on the link.

I have iris & columbine blooming and a few blue cornflowers, did not plant, these all come up where ever they please.

SHIRLEY, it crossed my mind that I might be suffering from some kind of allergy but it really felt like a cold.  I'm happy to say that I feel well enough to try going to work tomorrow morning.  The cough continues to hang on but it's slowing down.

I actually felt like doing things today.  I got several small jobs done and it felt good.

I wish you all a good night.  Wish me smiles tomorrow!

Good morning everyone..

A lovely day in the making here. Since it was raining yesterday the work on my vehicle didn't happen but I will take it in today and get it done. We also need to pick up the order for fertilizer for the lawn .

Where is Gloria, she didn't post yesterday??

Larry, since we don't eat the pie up fast enough I took two pieces to my neighbour that looks after our dogs when needed and two pieces to our other neighbour . Now the pie is down to a size that I won't throw it out for the crows .

Lloyd, this injury is making you do one thing and that is rest.I am sorry it comes with a lot of pain though. You can't beat a good old John Wayne movie.

Jane, enjoy your day at work and I hope a lot of smiles through your till.

Shirley, I will look into that product, thank you. When we bought this last vehicle I didn't know that the wipers would speed up on their own and it sure gave me a start when they did one rainy day.

Callie, what a nice surprise for you on Sunday! Your roses must be beautiful!

Better get moving .

Enjoy your day everyone..

Good morning everyone. don't know what gremlins got into this PC. It was OK when I shut down The other night but in the morning I could not get online at all. No S&F and no email. All I could do was play a few games, that was not a happy day. I did call my grandson and he got here yesterday evening.  Things are missing and he does not know what is wrong this time. Said he will come back when he has more time.
Friday morning there will be a meeting in the community room to find out about the 35 pages of complaints. A petition was signed by almost every one even the new people in support for the others. Owners of the building and the witch's boss will be here. How nice, they will serve coffee and DD doughnuts. The witch would like to poison us I bet.

BUBBLE  thanks for the new book tp write in and love the graphics. Both I have and used before. Love the boy giving his granny a ride and she looks scared bu sill enjoy ing it. Love your story, no wonder his poor neighbors are going crazy with the bagpipes at night. Thanks.

JANE  we had wowser of a thunderstorm right after my grson left. Did not last long but sure was loud and bright. Rain hitting the windows sounded like it might have been hail.

AMY  darn too late for me to get a slice of your blueberry pie.

LLOYD  I know what you mean about sitting at your computer for a long time. Take care and hope you leg will start heeling faster.

Have a good day.

Try This

When you have an "I Hate My Job" day, try this.  On your way home from work, stop at your pharmacy and go to the thermometer section and purchase a rectal thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson.  Be very sure you get this brand.

When you get home, lock your doors, draw the curtains and disconnect the phone so you will not be disturbed.  Change into very comfortable clothing and sit in your favorite chair, open the package and remove the thermometer.  Now, carefully place it on a table or a surface so that it will not become chipped or broken.

Now the fun part begins.

Take out the literature and read it carefully.  You will notice that in small print there is a statement, "Every Rectal Thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson is personally tested" .

Now, close your eyes and repeat out loud five times, "I am so glad I do not work in the Thermometer quality control at Johnson & Johnson."

Teacher
Author Unknown

Many years ago I had a teacher whose husband unexpectedly died suddenly of a heart attack.  About a week after his death, she shared some of her insight with a classroom of students.

As the late afternoon sunlight came streaming in through the classroom windows and the class was nearly over, she moved a few things aside on the edge of her desk and sat down there. With a gentle look of reflection on her face, she paused and said, "Before class is over, I would like to share with all of you a thought that is unrelated to class, but which I feel is very important.

Each of us is put here on earth to learn, share, love, appreciate and give of ourselves.  None of us knows when this fantastic experience will end. It can be taken away at any moment.  Perhaps this is God's way of telling us that we must make the most out of every single day."

Her eyes beginning to water, she went on, "So I would like you all to make me a promise.  From now on, on your way to school, or on your way home, find something beautiful to notice.  It doesn't have to be something you see - it could be a scent, perhaps of freshly baked bread wafting out of someone's house, or it could be the sound of the breeze slightly rustling the leaves in the trees, or the way the morning light catches one autumn leaf as it falls gently to the ground.

Please look for these things, and cherish them.  For, although it may sound trite to some, these things are the stuff" of life.  The little things we are put here on earth to enjoy.  The things we often take for granted.  We must make it important to notice them, for at any time...  it can all be taken away."

The class was completely quiet.  We all picked up our books and filed out of the room silently.  That afternoon, I noticed more things on my way home from school than I had that whole semester. Every once in a while, I think of that teacher and remember what an impression she made on all of us, and I try to appreciate all of those things that sometimes we all overlook.

Take notice of something special you see on your lunch hour today.  Go barefoot.  Or walk on the beach at sunset.  Stop off on the way home tonight to get a double-dip ice cream cone.  For as we get older, it is not the things we did that we often regret, but the things we didn't do.

Good morning.  Not a very nice morning......cloudy, dreary, chilly and supposed to be like this until the end of the week.  With intermittent showers all week. We  did have a thunderstorm last evening, but not real bad.  Supposedly some areas had a lot of flooding.   We had several really nice days, but this week sure will be depressing.

Gloria, I saved the little note about " I Hate My Job" to show to my DIL.  She just hates her job and that is all she talks about.  She has about 10 months to go until she can retire, and she is just counting the days.  It must really be depressing when you have a job you don't like.  She is a Physical Therapist and she really likes what she does, but all the paperwork, meetings, and stuff she has to do that takes so much time away from her patients really makes it hard for her to  have to go there everyday.  She will get a big laugh out of that "suggestion".

Gloria, we have those kind of community meetings.   I don't even go anymore as they just go over the same things all the time.  I hope that, with the "big wigs" being there,  you will get some good results when the petition is presented.  We are not allowed to make up any petitions anymore.  Several  people had started them a few years ago, but we can't do that anymore.  I just heard yesterday that our wonderful maintenance man is leaving the end of this week. He has had several run-ins with the manager and he feels like all the stress it has caused  is the reason he has been having some health issues.  He will really be missed, as he is the best maintenance man that we have had since I have been here.  And, he is the 4th one in 10 years.  He is a super-nice guy and is on top of everything all the time.  And, nothing is too much trouble for him to do.  I don't know the details of what has gone on,  but, everyone is really upset.   So many people complain about the manager,  but, since I have very little contact with her, I don't see any of the problems that people complain about.  They will have a difficult time finding another person to replace him.  It will be interesting to hear what happens at your meeting.  Good Luck !

I have had several very lazy days.  Didn't feel real good yesterday, but do feel better today.  I still need to get some breakfast and go through a bunch of paperwork.......  junk mail and a big pile of other papers,  tie up some magazines to put out in the recycling, plus go through my other recyclables and bag then up to put out in the trash room.   Nice that we can include those along with the trash.  Just have to put a big "R" on the bag with them.   Recycling really helps to cut down on the trash.  It just became mandatory in our county not too long ago.  I think if you live in a house, they do provide recycling containers.

Jane, hope you are feeling lots better this morning and able to go to work.   Sometimes a cold is harder to get rid of this time of the year.

Hi Amy !  Glad you are having a nice day.

Lloyd, good to know your leg is improving slowly.  I guess that was a sign to make you slow down a bit.

Good morning to you, too, Larry, when you come in.

Hope all the friends will  have a pleasant day.

Joy

BIG BOX

larryhanna

Hi Everyone.  We had a nice rainy day yesterday and got almost 1 1/2 inches of rain with more forecast for today and throughout the week.  Beyond the normal routine things that have to be done everyday I didn't do anything yesterday.  Today will probably be pretty similar but I decided to try something different in the mornings when all of the morning chores must be done.  I did a few things and began to tire so sat down in my easy chair and worked on my jigsaw puzzles for a few minutes until I felt restored and got up and did some more and repeated the process.  As a result I am not feeling exhausted this morning.  It is not the way I like to work as when I start something I like to see it finished but I may have to change my ways.

Everything got done in the kitchen and I fixed Pat's breakfast and took care of the dishes.  The tech was just here to do the 3-month check on my oxygen concentrator. It takes him all of five minutes as just attaches a little device that measures the air being produced. This evening I will go to the Church for the Wednesday night dinner and then Scott will come out for a little while.  I never know whether either of the girls will come out.  Tonight we are having chicken and noodles in a casserole as the main dish and that is usually very good.  I will bring a dinner home for Pat unless she decides go to the dinner.

I spent some time yesterday looking at this site:  https://archive.org/ .  It is really interesting as I looked through all of the old radio shows they have archived as well as the audio books of the classics.  The site is titled "The Wayback Machine" and it is a library of  is a non-profit library of millions of free books, movies, software, music, websites, and more.  They apparently have over 300 million webpages saved and accessible.

Shirley, what a lovely story about your tricycle and how you got it but sure sad about the way it was wrecked and disappeared.  I can still recall how much fun it was to ride my tricycle around the dirt path around our house.  On the farm we didn't have sidewalks to ride on.  Later I had an old bicycle but no really good place to ride it although when the dirt roads were dry I could ride on them as very little traffic out in the country. We find the Marie Callender frozen dinner to be the best we have ever had and they made a good and easy meal for us last night.  Mine was chicken Parmesan with pasta and carrots and broccoli.

Bubble, I hadn't noticed the items coming out of the knitting bag.  Thanks for the explanation as it sounds good.  It was just a fine graphic that brought a smile and I could picture Shirley in place of that lady.  :)

Callie, how nice of your grandson to do those planting for you.  I know Elizabeth would plant some flowers for us but just don't want the responsibility of having to water them.

Jane, hope your work today doesn't set you back and doesn't wear you down too much.

Lloyd, glad to read the swelling in your leg is going down even if it is slow.  Sorry it is still so painful for you.

Amy, how nice of you to share the pie with your neighbors.  I have never heard of windshield wipers speeding up on their own.  What make of car do you have?

Gloria, I hope the meeting Friday morning will results in some changes in the way the manager treats the tenants.  Thirty-five pages of complaints should get managements attention.  Thanks for the sharing today.  The joke is funny and the other is so true that we often fail to take notice of the beauty around us.

Joy, it is sad that your daughter in law is so unhappy with her job but at least the end is in sight.  It sounds like your weather will be like ours for the next several days.  Too bad you are losing your maintenance man.  It almost sounds like your manager is related to Gloria's.

Joy

#21
Yes, Larry,  I, too, think they might be related.  LOL   I sure hope Gloria's meeting will result in a lot of changes for her and the residents there.   Where I live,  we have those community meetings, but usually, it is just the same old things discussed, and then there never seems to be anything done.

Joy

CallieOK

Good Morning,

Gloria,  I, too, saved the "I Hate My Job" story to share with #1 son, who would like to take early retirement but still has two kids in college.
I hope the community meeting on Friday has positive results.  So glad the owners/boss are finally paying attention.

Larry, the HOA sprinkler system runs 3 days a week but, a year or so ago,  #2 son set up a system that hooks onto the outside faucet. There are two spigots - one for the sprinkler and one for a regular hose. I have to turn it on but it has a timer that can be set to automatically turn off.  The hose is flexible enough to wind through the flower beds in whatever pattern you choose and the heads can be clipped into it at any location.
Can't think of the name but the box is in the garage and I'll look it up if anyone is interested.

I intended to do errands after my hair appointment yesterday morning.  However, I took one look at the western sky as I left the beauty shop and decided to come on home.  Glad I did because a slow steady rain began about the time I got in the house.  It lasted long enough that I now need to make up for lost time.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Shirley

Haha, Larry, when I saw that lady on the tricycle I could relate to the one doing the peddling and the one riding behind, happy to be either of them!  You are so wise to pace yourself the way you do, and thanks for helping keep this place going.

Amy, my little Buick Encore also has windshield wipers that speed up on their own and even come on when needed.  Pretty nice. I keep getting "invitations" from the dealer to replace "her" but she still seems like new to me (5 years old this summer).  I finally remembered to turn off the steering wheel warmer, that is a treat I'd love to have in the RV, if fact, I wish the RV had all the goodies that came in the Encore, but doesn't even have any of the perks that came in the Ford conversion vans we had....seat warmers & security system, but they didn't have a kitchen sink & bathroom~~ ah, such is life.   ::)

Gloria, I will be cheering you on at the meeting!

Joy, we've been praying for rain for a year, but just this week I would love to have it stay clear long enough to get this pool taken care of.... no luck.  Nary a blip on radar this morning & all of a sudden thunder, don't know how that little red & yellow blob found a way to dump on west Wichita, but added more water to the once dry pool, I had just turned the sprinklers on in the front yard & left them running.

I'd better get moving, #2 son is stopping by after work, he is my neat kid, everything in it's place, and right now things are NOT in place anywhere.  I'm sorting and have piles to take to the RV, other piles to take to Salvation Army, and more piles of stuff that needs to be put away.  Woe is me.....

Well, I wrote a long post and I lost it.

Here goes...

Work went well today.  I drew a short register and then the tobacco register for the second half of my shift.  I don't usually like the tobacco register but today brought a nice surprise.  On of my husband's cousins came through my line and it's been years since I've seen him.  His wife comes through my line whenever she's in WM but he doesn't come very often.  We even had time to do a little reminiscing.  We decided that memories are good to have and even better to share.

GLORIA, I'll be eager to hear how your meeting goes tomorrow.  I hope the "Witch" gets her just desserts.

LLOYD, be a good boy and do what the dr. tells you.  Keep that leg elevated!

LARRY, your work and rest regimen seems to work.  I'm like you.  Once I start, I like to finish but I'm finding that rest gives me the strength and the will power to finish.  Whatever works!

SHIRLEY and BUBBLE and any else...that picture of Grammy on the bike reminded me of this Grammy on a bike.  When granddaughter Frankie moved in with me a few years back, she commented that it would be nice to have bike to get to some of the (almost) nearby places.  Daughter Cathy whose son, Kyle was away at school brought his bike over for her to use.  I looked longingly at it several times and each time I told myself I'd be crazy to try riding it at my age.  Then I told myself to just be quiet and watch.  And I rode down to the corner and back without a problem.  So I then rode down to the next corner and back with no mishap.....until I started to dismount.  With one foot on the ground I started to swing my other foot over and I kicked the handlebar knocking it into my other leg and causing me to fall on the ground with the bike on top of me.  I sat there looking around and hoping none of the neighbors were looking out their windows and thanking God that Cathy was nowher in sight to see my fall.  And you are the first people I've ever told that story.  Please don't tell my kids!

Now I'm going to go see what's in one of the three unmarked containers that I took out of the freezer.  It's called "surprise supper"!

Enjoy your evening!

Gloria, I am SO happy that things at your place are being brought to the attention of the owner. How did it get started ??

We are having another beautiful day here in Stanton. A high of 72. I went to Bible Class today and enjoyed it so much. Pastor Jeff is such a good teacher...like my Gary. The rest of my day has been a bust. went down for lunch, came home and spent the afternoon sleeping. I didn't want to get up, and still yearning for an early bed time. I don't know why my mornings are fine, and then I get just plain tired out. No interest in anything really.

Gary is on a Pastors Retreat in Idylwild and plans to stop by on his way home. I messed up my lap top again, and he will fix it for me.

Nothing for me to add, I will be eager to hear from Gloria on the meeting, other than that, I am dull. Keep well and happy. I love you all. June

As long as we are here, let's dance.

Okay, Janie, I won't tell, but will explain how to get off without any problems.... I still ride my bike!  When you want to get off you throw your leg over the bars & "ride that peddle down" with both feet.  Got to bend your knee to get over the bar, brake slow as you go down (mine has hand brakes)....  I had a fall like yours when riding on the bike path across the river.  My shoe lace got caught in the chain & as it went around the lace got shorter until my foot was against the sprocket.  I leaned the bike into the hill instead of the river.  :crazy2: No damage to me or the bike, shoe lace kinda shredded.

Pool guy called while ago, sand blaster will be here early morning so this pool guy will be here at 7:00 am to get things ready.  When we first talked I explained I was available ANY day EXCEPT the 17th, when I have a full body scan.  Appointment at 11:00 am & need to Google to check out where to park, not a place I am familiar with.... naturally must shower, etc before going to am upset with having to get things ready & be in such a rush.  Pool guy suggested we'd better put up a sheet over the huge window (whole wall of living room) since it is so close to the pool & sand may make it look like it's been in a sand storm.  Can't put up ahead with our wind & in case it should rain, wouldn't stay up.  Yikes!!!  We had to replace the storm window once, cost a fortune, tinted & so big they glass co had to order from OK.  :tissue: :bonk:  :surrender:  I got less than 3 hours sleep last night & managed to get one hour nap today, not in the best frame of mind, huh?  I think I sort of resent having already given them a check for half what the final bill will be UNLESS they have more problems as they go along.  I just used up that box of Kleenex so won't start over.
