My deep sympathy to Larry's wife, Pat, his son, Scott, and all of his family.  He was an inspiration to me in how he dealt with his health and end of life issues.  I looked forward to his daily chats with us in Soda Shoppe.  He was a kind and courteous gentleman and will be greatly missed.

If anyone plans to copy & paste all of our sympathy messages for Pat & Scott, I'd also like to thank the Hospice people that cared for him. They gave him comfort mentally and physically. He was so generous with his time this past few months, explaining every step of how to die gracefully, we owe him. Nobody has ever been as willing to share this final step. I am sad he didn't get to enjoy his "man cave" very long, but thanks to his family for being so considerate to know how important it was in helping take his mind off the little time he had left. He made a lasting impression on a lot of us and will be remembered as a special person for as long as we live. God Bless the Hanna Family. Sincerely, Shirley (in Kansas)

Pat, Scott and family, we all will miss Larry so much.  He showed us all how to die gracefully; he is now a valuable resident of heaven.  He was an inspiration to us and such a great help.  He was able to explain so many of the computer problems we had.  We got to know his family, including Stacey, over the years.  He was so appreciative of the love of family and friends, I don't recall a bad word about anyone as he accepted each and every one of us as we were/are.

Rest in peace, Larry, we will miss you greatly.

I'm so sad that Larry has lost his battle. He approached his final days with so much dignity and courage and such a positive attitude. I'm glad I had the chance to visit him and Pat a few years ago and was able to have a good conversation with him on Facetime a few weeks ago. He has taught me some valuable lessons. I will miss him.
My sincere condolences to Pat, Scott and their family.

I am so sad to hear of Larry's passing.  We have lost so many of our friends these last couple of years.  I always looked forward to Larry's post.  He had a kind and understanding spirit.  May God give Pat and son Scott and the family strength.

I had omitted to add this..as Mary Ann had prompted me to add...

...It is a strange feeling how one can class someone who one has never met " who is from UK " as a true friend, but I can honestly say, hand on heart that Larry Hanna was one of mine...He was so thoughtful in helping others-me out, he had often sent me personal emails on subjects he had dealt with in his time such as alcohol abuse ( re, my daughter problems ) where he had attended Al Anon sessions as regards to a member of his family and had often sent me emails on bible passages or book titles on grieving and loss, after my sudden loss - bereavement of my Richard, he went out of his way to help me, I know this was also his same attitude towards others, he had a very kind heart, and i shall truly miss not having him around posting daily on our forums... Larry Hanna was a very special person indeed...a man who never wanted us to ever worry over him, ( as i often did )...well now he is with his - our God...My heart now goes out to his Pat, on how she will now cope without him after their 57 years of love and happiness together., such a wonderful achievement in today's society..

Inspirational, is the word I would use to describe Larry Hanna.  He was a thoughtful, kind and positive man, and by his example, he inspired me to be a better person.  He believed that everyone is unique and important in this life, even though we may differ in our views, beliefs, or lifestyles.
Larry, I will miss you, and will remember you always.  May you rest in peace.

Larry was such a good friend to each of us - always finding a personal comment that meant he was paying attention to us as individuals.
He will be missed.

After some searching, I found the bio about Larry's life.

What an interesting life Larry had.  And, every part of his story is exactly the way he has come across all these years that I have enjoyed his postings on SeniorNet.   Wouldn't it be wonderful, if there were more "Larrys" in this world. I think he has been a great influence on all of us.  He sure was a special part of this group and I hope we all have learned a little something from him.  He had a wonderful outlook on life and death.  He will really be missed. I hope Pat and Scott will have some peace just knowing  much Larry has impacted all of us.

I have just reread the story of our dear friend
Larry Hanna's life.  Thank you Patricia for sharing Janet's wonderfully written story.

I, like many, have felt blessed to call Larry my friend. He never missed the opportunity to reach out to many whom he felt could use a extra little tidbit in their life.  He had a special knack to make EVERYONE feel special in his every day posts.  I never had the opportunity to met him in person, but I felt like I had.  He was a very trusted member of our special family who will be sorely missed.  Rest In Peace dear friend and know that you made a very impressive impact on my life.

Pat and Scott, you are a special part of our family as well, as Larry shared you with us and we would be so happy if you both would continue to be involved with this very special group of family.  Know that you both as well as the family are in my thoughts and prayers as you proceed though the very hard days ahead.  Larry clearly wanted you to be able to go on and to cherish the years you all were able to enjoy together.  He loved you all dearly. 🙏🙏

Fondly,
Jenny AKA Denver Darling 🦋

Larry showed us that it is possible to die gracefully.  It is a lesson for all of us.  He was such an inspiration to many of us in the way he lived his life.  He helped us in so many ways with our computer problems and we will miss his help and his cheerful manner.

Pat and Scott, we know you will miss Larry, but we will too.

I too have read Larry's story from start to finish and hand on heart, I have never known any person to leave such a lasting impact on my life as our Larry Hanna has - had done...I will forever now strive to be that better person by following his example..
As I am also going through my own bereavement ( my Richard 11th April ) i too have made him the same promise, ( yes i still talk to him ) " to be a better and nicer person.." I have been left with so many regrets of things I had said to him that are too late and cant be put right...If only we could put back the clocks..

Posting this email sent to me by Ellie...Kevin Kelly's wife, Kelly was a regular poster once on our site some years ago...I believe they also want this message posted on our S & F's site also..

" Greetings Jackie I have tried to sign in to the Christian Site without success.

I write to say how saddened we are that Larry has passed on. I only knew him a short time, by the site and by email, as he correspond with me many times. Larry was a Gentleman, as he was courteous, a splendid listener, a friend and a man of great faith.

For myself, I will miss his emails and his cyber friendship. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife Pat, son Scott and the rest of his family. Ell

If you want to post this email, I would appreciate it."
