Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

With the floods, hurricane winds and tornadoes, I'm not surprised there are less posters recently. Also, we are all growing older with health issues.

carole

Absolutely ages since I've been here. I cant remember how to post  photographs. Do I have to put them in Photobucket first?

RAMMEL

Carole -
They do NOT have to go in PhotoBucket. In fact, I think PB no longer allows linking to their site without a "pay for subscription".
However, when you make a post here look down on the lower left for a dropdown titled "Attachments and other options". Click on that and it will allow you to post directly from your computer. I can't give an exact process now but if/when you try you should be able to work your way through it. "If at first you don't succeed ................."

Carole, last time I tried the Gallery (in here), I managed to load photos & post from there... trial & error. My problem was getting the photos sized right without PSP. The photos coming from my camera are too large to use the online resizer. I know there is a way to set the camera for less GB, but don't know how & don't want to give up detail. SO, Bubble volunteered to resize & post for me after I gave it "one more try".  For whatever reason the old laptop with PSP decided to work so I worked on a photo & could do what needed... but just haven't had time. All this rain is causing more work to keep the pool pumped down & clean. Grass & weeds growing faster so I have to work harder to do what's necessary before the mowers come. All excuses, but the Gallery in here worked last time I tried. Good thing because I haven't used my Photo Bucket account for so long I have no clue if it is still operational. Try this Gallery. I wish I could explain which link to copy to post back in here but I have to guess every time. Bubble doesn't charge much... :2funny:  ... Good to see you.

Hi, Rick... okay, you have another idea~~

My bla, bla, bla, ----- I'm sure you've all heard me tout this before but I'll do it again.
IrfanView is a free image program. Been around forever. Very simple to get, install, use. If you don't like it, it uninstalls easily. Small footprint - uses very little disk space.

Resizing is simple - just open the image, click on "Image""resize/resample", click on whatever size you want then click "OK" and save it.
Once you do that you will see all the (easy) other goodies it can do. Color, color depth, contrast, brightness & more.

I don't think I've ever seen a happier photo of 3 people than that one! Each one's smile is perfect... and for the record, Jane, Emma looks exactly like I picture you at that age. Any baby pics of you to back me up?  My compliments to you and the family and even to the photographer that caught the perfect moment!

Thanks to Bubble for posting, you did good, girl, as always.

Sandy

Something to warm your heart...

This photo was taken in the Apuseni mountains, Romania, in a little village
called Ramet.
I really liked this kind woman, her funny smile and how the ox
licks her hand.

Bubble, what a neat picture.  The woman looks as if she'd be a good friend to have.

Love the photo of the old lady & cow, Bubble... my kind of person!  Neat to see a smile when you know life is hard.  The radio broadcaster reminded us this was the 75th year of that horrible day. My heart just stops when seeing the rows & rows of crosses at those cemeteries. So many memories and soon will be nobody left that was alive during those years. Thank you!

Amy

Bubble, love the photo.she looks to be a hard working woman with a big heart.
We have little or no idea of what she has gone through yet she smiles and with her eyes too!

These clouds were a week ago but been SO busy. Had to wait until I had time to play with the old computer with Paint Shop Pro to see if I could resize & post without pestering Bubble.  Here goes! I may not have gotten them in the Gallery in the right order, deleted quite a few but thought these were different enough to show how quickly the sky can change in one short span of time.

I watched the D-Day celebration with all the older Americans who came to Normandy to celebrate and to remember the good and bad things that happened that day.  I was 7 or 8 years old, but remember it well.  My young teenage cousin enlisted and drove one of the boats that continuously dropped men (many of them also teens) on Omaha beach.  He was an only child after his older sister died in child birth.  His mother and my grandmother were sisters.  We were all frightened and spent much time in prayer for Warren and all the soldiers and sailors who were involved in the landing and the rest of the war.  I was impressed with the many men in their late 80's and 90's who attended the 75th celebration.  They are truly America's heroes!

FlaJean

Shirley, those are some wicked looking sky photos.

Shirley

Jean, I was sorry they didn't show up better so read back over Bubble's note about size....  I had sized them to the longest at either 400 or 500 & see she said 800. My camera size comes out such huge files it is hard to resize except with PSP, & I only have one computer with it working (this one I bought the PSP 19 for but can't get it working right). The clouds looked much more fierce in real life as well as on the large files. Jack used to be surprised at how wide open spaces we have to show clouds. Sure miss his posts & pics!

My son-in-law was a happy fisherman yesterday.  Caught a large Amberjack in the Gulf.  Never heard of that fish, but I only know about fish I eat in a restaurant.  :)

so_P_bubble

WOW! That is a gigantic fish!  I hope it is tasty as well/

Shirley

WOW, Jean, never heard of it before but bet he had a good fight to land it!  Any idea what it weighed?  Congratulations to him. I do like fresh caught fish but don't get that often around here (sadly, local fish contanimated).

FlaJean

The fish was about 30/35 lbs.  but he couldn't keep it as the season on amberjack is closed until Jul 31st in both state and federal waters.  But he was happy just to get a good catch.

Mary Ann

Jean, I am sorry your SIL could not keep the fish as I hoped you'd be able to eat it.  I have heard of the fish, but since it's not a fresh-water fish, we don't have them around here.
