Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Angel, you should be invisible now.  I've also tried adjusting the time for you.  Let me know if it's still not right.

I sneaked in again, happily. I am so enthralled being back with all of you again, I can't quit gabbing. I first came to Senior Net in 1997. It was advertised in our little local paper of Hemet News. My favorite spot has always been "Bis' Nest" or now Soda Shoppe. I also like Bait and Tackle, Games, Medical problems, Politics, and others, but my favorite is Soda Shoppe. I have so many thankful, happy memories, and so grateful that Pat and her husband have kept our family of friends together. Thank you.....everyone !!!!!!!!!
As long as we are here, let's dance.

We knew a man who said he was a descendant & heir to the throne of The Isle of Man . He & his wife put on a large dinner party at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego announcing it . They were both royally dressed too .  He requested a meeting with Queen Elizabeth but it was denied . It was sad .  He had hoped they could move there & be reining  the island . As I understand the position he hoped to have doesn't exist any more .

Hi!  I'm new to this site.  I'm primarily a quilter, but know how to do almost all of the needle arts.  I'm retired and loving it. I quilt with my local guild, Quilts of Valor, Project Linus and a group at a local hospital, Quilting Angels, sponsored by the Chaplains office where we make quilts for the terminally ill. Family keeps the quilt as a memorial to their loved one.
I love the CHAT aspect as I often do that while I sew.
I live in Southern California.  Hoping to see a Forum group for Quilters.

Kelly

Hi alpiner
The chap who said he was a descendant and heir to the  throne of  the Isle of Man has been saying that for years.

First of all, there is no throne or regal monarch on the Island.  Her Majesty the Queen is what we call the Lord of Mann.  We are a crown dependency and have a someone who represents Her Majesty the Queen and has an official residence on the Island.

And you do not request a meeting with the Queen.  You are granted an audience with the Queen. He seems to have no knowledge of the official procedure or system of  affairs of state in the United Kingdom or the Isle of Msn.

maryc

maryc here.   Sorry about the website troubles for those who do the "fixin".   I thought my PC was causing me trouble! :crazy2:   Thanks for all your efforts to get us back together.

I've enjoyed the forums on gardening,  cooking, knit/crochet and of course the Library Shelf.   I look in on some of the others but these are my specials and do miss our friends when we can't get in.

Hi everybody, Sato is back right now.  I have been a stray sheep.  Jeanne Lee helped me arrive here. Thanks for her kind advice.
Spring has sprung in Yokohama, Japan.  Various blossoms and flowers have already opened here and there.  Took photos and arranged them into a video as follows.  Please check it in full screen on your PC.

Just getting in line with all the other 'old'  'newbies'. I had to modify my name slightly in order to register again, but hardly enough for anyone to notice.  It's great to see everyone pulling together.

Pat, please set a new forum instead of the former "Photo Slide Shows and Home Videos".

Gloria (Glor31) checking in. Was so happy to get back into the Soda Shoppe and our cyber "family" I missed this sighing in. The Sod Shoppe and the Card Shop are mostly where I post.

PAT  thank you and Oldiesman-Michael for all you did to get the site back up and running. I doubt I ever had a more boring week end away from S&F. You have brought us back together again. Thanks.

Gloria, are you preparing some PSP for posting?  That is what I did when  I could not access.

It's good to see so many "old" friends back in S&F.  Sato, your flowers are beautiful.  Are these in the yard around your house?

I have been retired nearly 30 years; hardly seems possible.  We are having rain right now and from radar looks like we'll have a storm.  I do not expect that we'll have the weather they've been having west and south.

I post mostly in Norm's Bait & Tackle and the Soda Shoppe, but I put my 2c worth in other forums if I want to say something.

Good afternoon, Sato, I always enjoy your beautifl flowers

Same here, although I hadn't been up to the task since he passed. I just didn't have the heart.

Am I correct in that ALL of the old posts in B&T are now evaporated, including those from Norm himself? How sad.

I give a LOT of credit to those who keep this place going, I know I don't have the patience or guts for it.

I have been retired nearly 30 years; hardly seems possible.

Amazing, isn't it? I've been retired 7 years and since my former company is Satan incarnate, I couldn't be happier to be out. I was FIRED for being too old and too well paid (figuratively, of course, since the men my age were paid MUCH more), so I wish my old company nothing but the worst. I was FIRED, then threatened with no severance unless I taught my old job to a woman from the Philippines. Yup, Satan incarnate, and apologies to Satan.

I don't dare go to the political forums, for obvious reasons.  ;D

BOY, am I glad this place is back. If not for my dog, I can't say where I'd be.

JeanneP

Finely found where you were all hiding.  Looks like I am a Newbie again.  Need to find out how to put a new Avatar in along with putting a shortcut on my desktop.  I have instruction some place

Oh!  spell check not working here. Can't manage without that. It took awhile before it got going in the previous forum.

Some of the Forums are shorter now. We really don't need some of the subjects that had not been used for years. I sort of jump around into a dozen . Mostly the busy ones.

The Tech's did a good fast job setting us up again. Thanks
JeanneP

JeanneP

Now is there still a HOW TO.? The place were instructions for doing different things were.

Mary Ann

Hi Deedee - yes, Norm has been gone four months now.  Dot keeps busy and doesn't sit around and mope, not that she would anyway.  Dot goes out to lunch with Tom, Terry and me and sometimes Terry's wife is able to join us.  This is a weekly thing.

Dot has three great-grandsons and sees one often.  The other two, twins, live in Texas.  Norm had one great-granddaughter, born after he died but he knew she was on the way. We haven't seen her because the family lives near Lansing MI.

Regarding retirement, time flies when you're having fun - whether seven or thirty years.  It's a shame how you HAD TO retire.  I worked for a utility in the office and it was a great company to work for, however, they catered to shareholders at the end whereas they used to cater to their customers.  We had one big happy family for many years.  All I ask of them today is to get my pension in the bank and that they do!
