Jackie, they say you can't go home again, but I think one can with memories and photos.  I was able to see the Scammel lorries and their successor.

Marilyn, I had shingles (mild case) around the year 2002 and my doctor at that time said I would not need a shot, as the shots were just coming into being around that time.  So I have not had a shot.  I have had pneumonia and flu shots; I leave them up to my doctor.  It boils down to I get the flu shot on my own in the fall but if I don't go to the doctor, I don't get the pneumonia shot or any questions about it.  Every time I've had one, they are supposed to last different times - forever, five or ten year.

I think I see the world through Rose Colored Glasses, at least I am rather optimistic about things, but I like to think I'm realistic about things, too.

It's just after noon and I think it is time to find something to eat.  Kendrick is sleeping on my bed.  He hasn't had his daily ration of catnip today (he doesn't have a "daily ration"; I just give him a big pinch at a time, maybe two or three times a day).

Be leaving soon, journey can take 45 -50 minutes, add another 5 or 10 minutes if I have to stop off in a lay-by for an MS bladder emptying or two, I can do that now its got darker in the evenings, the lorries and cars just goes whizzing past... ;) our stretch of road and lay-by's are often pitch-black dark with very little lighting, nor with no pedestrians around..Just have to balance on the side of the car...Of course once I get there I head straight for the loo...

Good afternoon.  I am late getting in here today.  Just got busy doing some chores and remembered that I didn't post anything today.

It has been a very lazy day.  The sun was out, but now it looks like rain.  And, it is getting colder.

I did play cards last night, but, as usual, we did not win.  Just a game !!!

Jean, sorry about your DIL's father.  Sounds like he was a very interesting person.  I am sure that the family will know that you are thinking about them.

Jackie, I sure hope you will have a nice enjoyable evening with your MS group.  The speaker you will hear sounds like a very interesting person.  So glad that you are able to get there.

It is way past lunch time, but I had a big late breakfast, but now will go look for a quick snack.

I do read the postings in the Soda Shoppe, and I think I read the message from June that someone mentioned.  She is a very special lady and she knows exactly what she wants her wishes to be.  And, I know she gets wonderful care where she lives.  Plus, her family is near by and does keep a close watch on her, I am sure.

Hope everyone has had a nice day.

Nice to see Larry back with us.

I'm a nervous wreck but I'm calming down.  My printer and this computer are not compatible so I have to use my next oldest/youngest computer.  It must have been update time because when I clicked on Firefox, I got Malwarebyte restoring where I had been.  I couldn't get to my mail and it was like I couldn't get from here to there or there to here.  I'll bet I worked on the thing for a half hour and I had to use that computer.  Updates finally completed and I was able to go to my unread mail where I kept the notices for printing and e-filing.  Turbo Tax came today and I think I have only one more form to print.  I did accomplish a lot and I'm much more calm than I was.

We have been at 33/34 degrees all day but radar shows the ice has moved east.  I can take the next cold spell we are to have but I don't want another ice storm - and this was nothing compared to some we've had in the past.

Joy, you had a "nice" busy today.  I never played much cards, but with friends, it is the socializing that makes it pleasant.  I knew you posted in the Soda Shoppe, but not everyone posts in the same folders and that is why I suggested people read what June had written.

Yes tonight's speaker went down well, they enjoyed her talk...she has so many stories to tell...Oh and I never needed to make any bladder emptying stop-offs...We got back at 10.pm it is now coming up to bedtime 11.pm and as I type the rain has started to pelt down with a vengeance...

Joy...not to worry about winning at cards its the taking part that matters...I would have been playing bingo lunchtime if it hadn't of been for my evening MS social, It would have been too much to have gotten in both...

MarsGal

Good Morning, all.

We are having rainy weather - again - with temps to get into the low 50s before diving back down into the mid-30s for tomorrow.

While sipping on a cup of hot chocolate just a few minutes ago, I watched some of the ferals out in the muddy parking lot below. The big ginger was in the middle of the muddy lot keeping watch across the lot. She went farther out and continued to watch. In the meantime, the mottled grey came out to her from the other side and then walked off a ways to try and get some less than muddy water to drink. The reason for the big ginger's vigilance became clear when one of the blonds came across the lot, stopping briefly to greet the ginger and then proceeded the rest of the way. The big ginger stayed put. The mottled grey, having more sense was up on dryer land. After a minute or two it went back to the ginger and gave it a light tap, which got ginger moving off the mud and under one of the cars on dryer ground. It was still watching across the lot when I left the window. I think it was waiting for the other two to show up. I am not sure where they go when they leave the patch behind the bar, but I have seen all five migrate across the lot before. They disappear into a tangle of trees and weeds by the alley, and from there, I can't see where they go. That leads me to believe that they have two "camping grounds" they use. I am considering that the big ginger might be Shan's mom. If so, she has filled out and gotten bigger than when she had Shan and siblings. But then, she looked like she was barely out of kittenhood herself when she had them. Still, she was a very attentive mom, except for leaving Shan behind, that is.

Mary Ann

MarsGal, interesting observations about the cats.  It is nice to have a window to watch from.  I do sit by a window in here, but it is high enough that I can't see a thing except the back of my garage. I'm sure Kendrick would be in his glory if he could see anything worthwhile out a window.  Tom has said Kendrick sometimes looks out his window in the lower level and there is a pyracantha bush there and birds fly in and out.  Up on my level, there is nothing.

We are having another icy day and Tom is not teaching today.  He was scheduled for a charter school in Cedar Springs that pays a bit more than the other schools.  Friday I think he said he'd be at a Skill School and if it isn't computer based, he'll enjoy that.  He likes to do more than just maintain discipline.

Turbo Tax came yesterday as promised and I can start to work on my taxes.  It should be interesting this year what with a new form.

Mary Ann

Marilyne

I was sitting here about an hour ago, (it was 7:10 here) reading the messages, and suddenly a strong smell of burning rubber got my attention.  I started looking around, and it was especially strong in the kitchen. Nothing was turned on in the house, except the furnace, and the Mr. Coffee?  By then AJ was awake, and smelling it too.  He checked all around the house and basement, but nothing burning or turned on anywhere.  So now he thinks it's our fridge.  He pulled it out from the wall, so we shall see??

That's my excitement for the day, so far! I'm going to eat some breakfast now, and let him figure it out, which I know he will do.

Hi Everyone.  I just got back from seeing my cardiologist and am tired so will just check in for now and come back this afternoon to read the postings since yesterday.

Sandy

Good Morning Everyone,  from the cloudy,
cool, and windy,   but not icy cold,
rocky coast of Maine.

Just a note to say that all is well here
in my world,  and to remember all of the
brave people that we have here in
Seniors and Friends.   Many who
are suffering more then they let on,
but seem to be taking each day, one day
at a time,  and blessed for the good days,
hours, moments that we do have
as we pass through this life.

I try to be always grateful for the Good Times.

Still waiting for the Sunshine and trying to
remember that this is still only
February...  and we have a lot of Winter
left here in New England.

Smile...   ;D

Sandy, thanks for your cheerful post.  Spring will come and I hope we're all here to enjoy it.

Marilyn, I've smelled heat at times, like a thermostat was set too high and the heat in a room (not where I was) was too much.  Since Tom would be near the furnace, I have not worried about it - and nothing happened.  I hope you have found the cause of your burning rubber smell by now.

By the time I got up this morning, Tom had been out for breakfast - and back.  He said Plainfield avenue was without power; Plainfield is the main road around here.  Northland Drive had power; Plainfield dead ends at Northland.  We are lucky in that we did not lose power.  A friend of Tom has a business nearby, did lose power but it came back on.  I heard some people/businesses may not get it back until tonight or tomorrow.  It isn't too cold - 34 degrees - but it isn't warm, either.  Tom has met this friend, probably for lunch.

Mary Ann

Marilyne

Long story short - the strong burning rubber smell turned out to be the oven. (Upper unit of built-in double ovens.)  All of our appliances are quite old - 70's and 80's, so it's not surprising that something is always in need of repair.  I don't know what AJ plans to do, but he will probably fix it.  ::)  ::)

MarsGal - interesting post from you about the feral cats in your neighborhood.. I wonder if neighbors or someone is feeding them at all?  Is there such thing in your area as a cat rescue group, that traps the cats, neuters or spays them, and transfers them to a feral cat colony?  We have a few colonies around here, that are large, near a water source, and are well maintained. It seems like a humane way to handle an ongoing problem.

Mary Ann - Too bad that Tom didn't get to teach today, at the school that pays the best.  Next week, when the weather gets back to normal, I hope he will start getting regular work again.
Kendrick may not have a window to look out of, but you do have the glass slider, so he can look out and observe what is going on on the deck.

Sandy - You always have such a positive upbeat attitude on life!  I enjoy reading your posts, and wish you would come in more often, to let us know what's going on?

angelface555

Good morning from a miasma filled Interior. The snow has stopped but the rain has not, and we have an air alert. All the smoke from the surrounding villages, homes in foothills, fireplaces and wood burning stoves is staying low and mixing with other airborne chemicals such as car exhaust.

The Yukon Quest, a 1000 mile dog race is going on now, The Iditarod, (1161 miles); starts on March 2nd and the North American dog race runs March 16th thru March 18th. We have a thousand-mile snowmachine race, (The Ironman); across the state starting,02/17.

All this across glaciers and mountainsides and flatland that this year, with snow and freezing rain carved solid sheets of ice. This year we have almost more international competitors than local so that it will be interesting across the board.

It sounds as if everyone has had an interesting morning, one way or another. My morning started with a developing cold and three more lessons to finish and send out today. The issue is every time you send them in you get more back, and there are times I'm not sure about that.

larryhanna

Hi Everyone.  I have had a nice afternoon rest and now comfortably situated in my easy chair.  My doctor this morning basically told me I need to cut back on the few things I am able to do in terms of getting out and about.  She told me to stay home for a few weeks.  I guess I am sicker than I realized.  My main regret is I am going to have to miss Sunday School and Church and the Wednesday night dinners at Church.  I have made a decision that if and when I feel up to being more active I will probably only go to Sunday School because I can always listen to the full Church service on line and the two plus hours involved in attending both is really too much.  I am also going to have to give up my Thursday coffee group and a number of other things.  My doctor also referred me to a kidney specialist as I do have some serious kidney disease.  I will not bore you with any more details and I will adjust to these significant changes in my life although I am sort of in a state of shock as didn't realize my heart and kidneys were this bad. I will just take it as another phase of life and take it One Day at a Time.  My main concern is that this is going to put more strain on Pat.

Mary Ann, glad you missed the sleet and freezing rain.  Ice can do so much damage to trees.  We used to get those coupon books but haven't seen any over here that included restaurants.  I guess most of them have now gone to online coupons when you sign up to get their ads.  My son got both his Federal and State tax refunds one week after filing.  We are up in the lower 80's again this afternoon and I saw the first spring tree with blossoms on it during our trip to the doctor this morning.  So the first signs of spring are showing up here.

Jackie, your program at your social last night sounds like it would be interesting.  Nothing like a speaker who can include some humor in their speeches.  Glad the rain held off until you got home last night.

Marilyne, you didn't tell us what the word was that you saved.  Inquiring minds need to know!  :)  The pharmacist told us this new shingles shot is about 98% effective and we won't have to have it again whereas the earlier shot was only about a 50% effective.  Pat and I both have a bit of a sore arm and her arm has a knot where she got the shot but mind doesn't have that.  I bet the people in your valley loved seeing the snow.  Glad you located the cause of the problem and that no fire was generated.

Patricia, I didn't realize there were so many dog sled and snowmachine races up your way.  Sorry to read you are coming down with a cold.

Lindancer, I thought of Amos and Andy also and know that program wouldn't go these days.

Sandy, we might as well take things as they come because usually we are powerless to change them.  Glad you are not having icy cold up your way.  I am also grateful for many things like my son who got up early to take me to the doctor's appointment.

Joy, I guess I will be having a lot of lazy days ahead.  Sorry the cards were not good to you last night but it is the social aspect that is important.

MarsGal, it sounds like those feral cats kept you entertained this morning.

Mary Ann

Larry, I am sorry to read about your cardiologist's recommendations but at least she did not rule out everything.  I find I am on the computer most of the morning but I cover a lot of territory during that time - a few S&F folders, but some other programs too that are not associated with S&F and computer news.  Usually on Thursday through Sunday I watch some golf, more on Sunday than other days.  TV in the evening - Weather Channel, Wheel and Jeopardy.  Tuesday after that was Finding Your Roots, but that is not on every night as Wheel and Jeopardy are. Right now I am watching golf from Pebble Beach with some beautiful scenery.  It is the Pro-Am, which to me is not as interesting, however, some prominent players are golfing.  So you can see I live a really sedentary life, but I have about 10 years of age on you.  I think you've had warning that your heart is bad, even if you did not suspect it, from how tired you have been recently.  I'll keep you - and Pat - in my prayers.

It is raining here and the temperature is 36 degrees, so a drop in temperature will bring back ice.  That doesn't affect me as much as Tom because there are things he has to do and things he wants to do and he has a car.  I wonder if he will be able to teach in the morning.  Or have his Bible study.

Mary Ann

Marilyne

Larry - I'm so sorry the the news from your cardiologist was not what you were hoping for.  However, sounds like if you take it easy for a couple of weeks, that you will be able to ease back into more of your regular activities?

Mary Ann - I like the Pebble Beach Pro-AM. (Used to be the Crosby Pro-Am Tournament). It's very popular here in Northern Cal, as you might guess.  I do like to see the amateurs, especially Bill Murray, who always entertains his fans in the gallery.

Patricia - I hope it was a false alarm, and that you are not coming down with a cold?

Mary Ann

Marilyn, I'll like it better on Sunday when things are down to the nitty-gritty.  I haven't noticed Bill Murray yet, just executives who probably contribute big money.

Larry, I was very sorry to hear about your continued medical issues but its probably better to know now in the long run as you don't want to expose yourself to germs and what else is out there in the general population right now.

Everything is as you said, a bit of a shock, but tomorrow and the following days will allow you to rest and adjust and get a better idea of how you're going to follow through. I'm sure Scott is going to step up and help you with anything you or Pat need to do.

MarsGal

Larry, sorry to hear that you have to cut back on your outside activities. That is going to be a big hole in your day to fill for a while. I am glad you will, at least, be able to watch the church service on TV.

Patricia, I saw there was another accidental death up at Ellison a few days back. From what I gather he got stuck out in the weather, but I didn't catch any details. Hope you aren't sidelined by you cold. Maybe, like Marilyne says, it is a false alarm. George thought he was coming down with a cold last week, even canceled an appointment for his endoscopy. It turned out be not much of anything. That is good, for him, because he seems particularly susceptible to colds.

Marilyne, I haven't found any rescue group that will come get the critters, but we do have a catch, neuter and release group. They do not come trap the animals for you, but they will let you borrow traps as long as you promise to release them back into the wild after they get neutered and shots. Not only do you have to do the work yourself, you have to pay for the neutering, etc. yourself, although they do give you a discount. These five look well fed and healthy, but it could just be the extra winter coat. Also, cats are notorious for hiding health problems until they are very ill indeed. When Shan's family was parked between the garages for a few weeks, I noticed the chipmunks, mice and rabbit disappeared, so I am not too unhappy about them being around. But I do worry about their health and welfare. The little thicket behind the bar, along with the two old, dilapidated sheds give them real good cover/shelter, at least.

It is raining again this morning. So, I am not planning on going to the grocery store until tomorrow or Sunday. Besides, I haven't done a grocery list yet. I haven't started my taxes yet. Not all of my tax statements are here, and won't be mailed until the 15th. It is getting to be routine, now, that not all tax statements are sent by Jan. 31, like they are supposed to be, thanks to the Federal government and their shenanigans. I can understand that these companies do not want to go to the expense of sending out potentially incorrect tax statements and then have to resend them when the government makes up their mind what they want. Not only is it very expensive to redo everything, but those who get revised forms, if they have sent their tax forms in with the original statement info, would be thoroughly irritated that they must send in amended forms. I know I would be.

larryhanna

Hi Everyone.  It is another beautiful sunny morning but suppose to be partly or mostly cloudy throughout the day.  We expect to get to 70 degrees this afternoon.    I only got about 4 hours sleep last night as I was fighting shortness of breath all afternoon and night.  Pat suggested I put one of the sofa cushions behind my back in my easy chair and that did help a bit but moving about brought it back.  Enough complaining for today.  Pat made some delicious 15 bean soup in the Instant Pot last evening for our dinner and there was enough left over to have another meal or two.  Our housekeeper is here so by early afternoon we will have a nice clean house.

Mary Ann, it looks like my trips away from the house will be to keep some medical appointments I have scheduled and hopefully be able to go out to eat once or twice a week to take some of the stress off of Pat.  Right now she is carrying the load.  I have been watching a college basketball game every night after Jeopardy.  I tune in at 8 pm for an hour.  I will start watching the golf again after the basketball season.  I have known I had serious heart problems for over 30 years so can't say this is unexpected but certainly not welcome.  Hopefully I will feel better soon.  I have developed quite a cough that goes with the heart problems.  Thanks for your prayers for both of us.  I hope you didn't get the black ice.

Marilyne, the doctor indicated it should make it several weeks before trying to resume any elective activities.

Patricia, my heart doctor dictates her case notes right in the exam room and then gives me a copy. She dictated extensive notes yesterday as well as refer me to the kidney doctor, who will be calling me to set up an appointment.

MarsGal, our Church service is just the audio but I have been attending regularly for almost 4 years so I can easily visualize the service as it is conducted.  Like you I am still waiting for one tax document that I won't get until sometimes in March.  No problem as wouldn't try to do them now the way I am feeling.

Mary Ann

#11963
Larry, if the sofa cushion did help you, I would suggest you keep it - or another of similar size - there so you would not have to move it each time.  Rome wasn't built in a day and your heart condition didn't start yesterday, so I can understand your doctor telling you it would be a while before you could add an activity.

My outside trips are mostly doctor appointments, meals out (once a week) and trips to Holland with Tom to see the twins.  Dot is my transportation to church.  I don't miss driving but once in a while I'd like to drive to a nearby supermarket for a particular item.  Having sold my car makes it impossible because I do not drive Tom's car, and besides, at 94 I think I should not be driving.  I sold the car in March of 2016 so it is nearly three years now, actually almost four, because Tom was using my car to get to work and back because Annie wrecked his car.  Life gets complicated, doesn't it?

Larry, I'm not that fond of basketball and I do not watch it.  When Jim was alive and we traveled from Florida to Indps, we'd watch the March Madness in the motel.  I learned a bit about basketball, but have forgotten most of it; Jim's been gone over five years.

Our weather is awful today.  Tom did go out for breakfast but came home afterward and I know he took a nap.  I got up about 6 am and went back to bed about 7:30 and was able to go back to sleep.  Tom said driving was bad and he was only a mile or two from home; I don't know which direction as it depended on which Mc D's was open.  I think since  Christmas vacation he has taught only twice because of the weather following.

I told Tom that Pat had made a 15-bean soup in the Instant Pot and he said it sounded like a lot of work.  I told him you can buy packages of 15-bean mix.  Oh!  We could make the soup in either our Instant Pot or Crock Pot.

I know the mailman will drive in because I saw the truck across the road.  Most of our mail is junk but even some of that is interesting - before it is thrown away.

Mary Ann - I'm not a basketball fan, and neither is AJ.  It's funny, because I used to like to play basketball when I was a teen, and was on a couple of girls teams when I was in high school and college.  The game has changed now, and doesn't look the same to me at all.  Used to be a big deal, to make a basket, but back then, both the women and men were normal size and height. Now seems that they make a basket every time they shoot, because they are all so incredibly tall!! Both the women and men players are very tall, and seems that they never miss when they shoot.  That takes the fun out of it for me - with those extremely high scores.

Speaking of sports, reminds me of golf at Pebble Beach, today.  It is not as cold today, but it's raining, and supposed to rain off and on all day, and then again tomorrow. The weather can go in any direction around here, so it will be interesting to see if they go ahead and play, or if they wait until this storm is over?

Larry - when I was going to the cardiologist, he also dictated his notes right there in the office, when I was sitting opposite him.  Then when I went out to make my next appointment, his assistant would hand me the notes, all printed out.  That was the first and last time that I have ever had that happen, so I'm wondering if it is unique to cardiologists, or if all specialists do it now?   I won't be asking him any time soon, because he retired over a year ago, and I never went to a new doctor.

MarsGal - Too bad that the cat rescue groups in your area, don't come, set the traps, and handle the whole thing. They take charge completely here . . . They come with the traps, then come back to get the cats, take them to be neutered, and placed in a sanctuary.  They will come back over and over, until they are sure, or you are sure, that all the cats in the colony have been trapped and removed.  Veterinarians do the neutering for free, on a rotating basis.  I have heard that the sanctuaries around here are very nice, safe, and well maintained by volunteers.

Marilyn, I am not, nor ever was, normal height.  The closest I got to playing sports was in gym class and in the field next door to our house and I played with the neighbors.  I was a big baseball fan when I was in school and the games started around 3 pm in those days.  They were only on the radio (TV? what was that?) and didn't last forever as they do now.  And while the players made fairly good salaries, they did not make the millions they do now.  And I understand those players were much better than players today.  I am no longer a fan, however, I do read the headlines and know the names of some of the players, especially the Detroit team.  I used to attend every football and basketball game when I was in school.  You're right, the players were of more normal height for the times, although I think kids mostly are taller today than they were when I was in school.  Remember I graduated 78 years ago this year!  Maybe that is why I took to watching golf.  I know they also make big money, but they seem more civilized than the baseball, basketball and football players!  I haven't turned on the golf yet, so thanks for reminding me; I think they start about 2 pm ET.

What has AJ done about your burned rubber smell?

Do you realize in a month we'll be back on Daylight Time?

Larry, do you have a 3-qt or 6-qt Instant Pot.  From my recollections of the bean soup package, it seems a bit large for a 3-qt, on the other hand, we probably could use half of the package.

Mary Ann

angelface555

Good morning from  a very warm Interior! The snow is even melting right down to the ice after that last bout of freezing rain.

My cold is still here but its not a bad one. As I said to Larry if you're not out a lot, it's easy to catch one when you do go out. And Spring and Fall are the worst times with shifting barometric pressure and others having colds too.

I'm not into sports unless I'm the one playing and those days are past. In junior high I played on the girl's basketball team and in summer, we played softball. I was on the girls cheerleading team in high school, but it was different back then.

Cheering depended on school spirit and a bit of gymnastic skill rather than looks and popularity. I also swam a lot but wasn't on any team. There were and are indoor pools, but this area is abundant in lakes, gravel pits, hot springs, etc.

Mary Ann

Patricia, I hope you can get rid of your cold symptoms soon.  Whatever goes with coming down with something is not fun.

I've just started on my federal income tax and so far, so good.  I don't have all of the information yet but at least one 1099 DIV can be printed.  Others I must wait for.

Tom has gone off to eat with one of his lady friends.  This one lives in town, the other one in Holland.

I had some soup about 2 pm so I'm not ready to eat anything yet.  My TV programs end about 8:30 and I may wait until then to see what I want.

I think the weather has calmed down but it's only 14 degrees.

Mary Ann - I remember those days too, when Major League Baseball was played mostly in the afternoon.  On weekends, there were double -headers.  Baseball was very popular, but now that I look back, I can see that professional football and basketball were in their "infancy" back then, and really hadn't caught on yet.  Both high school and college football were very popular when I was in school. I do think that average sized boys and girls had more of an opportunity to play all competitive sports, back then. As you said, no TV, so all important games were on the radio.

Patricia - Sounds like you're getting a Spring thaw right now, butI'm sure you have a lot more winter weather ahead?   I loved to play softball, and enjoyed playing on the girls softball team as well as basketball, in high school.  I finally gave them both up when my eyesight/nearsightedness got so bad that I had to wear glasses in order to see. Glasses were considered to be too dangerous for sports, because they were actually made of glass back then!  I could still play tennis though.

Mary Ann - Oh yes, the burned out oven!  Fortunately, I have double wall ovens, so although the upper one is no longer working, I still have the bottom one.  It's smaller, but adequate for now.  AJ is looking on line for parts to repair it, and then will begin the project.  If it turns out to be irreparable, then I don't know what we will do.  Putting a brand new double oven in that spot would not look good, with all my ancient kitchen appliances in the almond color. (which is no longer available.)

Patricia, sorry to see you have a cold. Hope it is ver soon. I do not think taffy got out of bed to day. Now she will roam all night. A  possum comes up on the deck at night, she would love to get at him, she watches him through the slider.

MaryAnn, I was in a tumbling club in high school. I Think now called gymnastic. also played field hockey and soccer

Larry, I find my computer my saving grace I can talk to all my cyber friends and play games at night and I can stay fairly still. Of course I do have to go get a little something to eat like cookies and a root beer float :) I know you are not suppose to eat at the PC. I even wrote an article about that for our parks newspaper

Marilyne, are you part of the bad  weather they are having on the West coast. I cannot believe it is almost the middle of Feb.and we have not had over an inch of snow. Generally by now we are snowed in for a week. I sure am not complaining
