Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

I bought mine in the late 60s. been gone a long time. Can't remember if the back was carved but I know it was well made. Spring still perfect after at least 15 years. Loved the pattern. Would like to have something like it now as mine in all one colour. Tan and now bored wth it.

I crochet for Project Linus ( afghans for babies & older children in hospitals ) . Here is my latest afghan for an older child .

Mary Ann

Lovely, Alpiner; I can just see an older girl wrapping herself in the afghan to read or even to walk around with it as a wrap.

I had one yarn cake . When I used it up I picked up on  some similar colors in the yarn cake from my stash & added them .

Alpiner, thanks for posting.  I like the design very much, I make the square lap robs most of the time, using leftover yarn

Alpiner, I like that pattern and the color combo is good too.

Thank you Mary Ann . I started with what is called a  "cake" .  The cake ended with the turquoise . From there I used yarn I had . The pattern is an octagonal granny pattern .

Great work, alpiner.  Quilted?  It almost looks like it could be crocheted, too.

It sure looks like crochet to me.So pretty. Not made any for a few years now. No new babies for awhile.

It is crochet .  I crochet blankets for Project Linus .

maryz

Great in any case.  I saw the sewing machine behind you and that's why I asked about quilting.

The picture was taken in an upholstery class room where a crochet class I attend meets through adult education .

It's a work of art. Beautiful!

I love the colors you used, Alpiner. So soft and pretty.  I used to make the Linus blankets but the drop off place went out of business and there wasn't one close enough where I could take the blankets.

I haven't done any knitting or crocheting for a long time and maybe I need to start again.   I miss having something to do with my hands when I am sitting in the evenings.

In crochet class there is a table that we can donate yarn , etc.  I found the yarn on the table , the teacher calls the yarn "orphan yarn" . The varigated is Caron .

SCFSue

The afghan is lovely, Alpiner--and it's great to at last see your face!

Thank you all !  I also crochet slippers for my husband Norm .  He has saved many of the worn out pairs for the day I won't be able to crochet more pairs !

How nice! They look to be very comfy too. How long does it take you to crochet a pair?

alpiner1

It depends on how much spare time I have .
