Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Alpiner, your newly finished quilt is lovely.  The colors are so pretty together.  I haven't knit anything in a long while--it is so hot here in Alabama in the summer that it just isn't fun!  What do you do with your finished projects?

I donate the baby afghans to Project Linus .

JeanneP

Alpiner.

That is so pretty. love colours. Now I would love it for the small round table in my bedroom. Perfect colours I also do not crochet anymore. Doubt I could have done that on anyway. My afghans not quite that good.I made a lot of them over the years.

How great it is to "find" all of you.  I cannot believe that you have been 'here" all this time - sorry for missing.

My little project right now is to make fabric tissue holders that fit in a purse or pocket.  I have sewn 26 or so and my goal is more & more.  All to be donated for a church bazaar this fall.  It is very simple, the pattern I mean.

Keeping on here - both hubby and I have medical appointments and keeping up the house and visiting with everyone  fills most of our time.

Amy

Just need to clip the threads and iron this and it is on the way to the longarm. This is called a Log Cabin in the barn raising design.
Thank you Bubble for your help.

Pretty quilt, Amy.  I knew the real thing would appear eventually.

Amy - Such a beautiful quilt, with the many shades of green, offset with white.  I like the intriguing name - "Log Cabin, in the barn raising design".  Makes you take a closer look!

Amy

MaryAnn and Marilyne, thank you. I did have fun doing it.
Marilyne, there are many ways to put the log cabin together, Barn Raising is one of them.

Absolutely superb! Amy, you are a real artist.
Did you ever consider selling one?

Amy

Bubble, thank you. Most have been gifted out but maybe one day I may sell some. Now I am back to making cancer quilts and want to start on skateboard quilts for the kids that get to go to a camp.

This is a Camp quilt for some youngster with cancer....it has all the names of the plants and stars on it so he/ she can learn a lot from it.

WOW That is sure to be appreciated and cherished.
Do you also make wheelchair size for elderlies? I used to make in crochet but yours are so much nicer.

Amy

Bubble, thank you. The group I am with does just cancer quilts. I think your wheelchair covers would also be lovely and much needed warmth on the legs.
I did make my bil a fidget quilt, lots of thing to play with and see when he had dementia.

What is a fidget quilt? Never heard that term.

Amy

A fidget quilt has many things sewn on it. For ladies it could have lace, zipper.ribbons.....thing of different textures for them to "feel" keep their fingers busy. On my bill's I put his name with beads, farm animals, Velcro .keys on a ring that could be removed for washing. I made his big enough to cover up in.
Here are some ideas for you to look at.

How interesting! I remember Making something similar with button to fasten, zipper to open, shoe string to pass through holes, poppers to push in or open, loop to put around a big button, all that in kindergarten for my daughter and others to learn those skills. Then it was called an activity cloth :)

Amy

Basically the same idea...keeps the mind and the hands busy.

A lovely one Alpiner. Who is it for?

I should follow your example: I also have one abandoned for about 6y, when Ben got sick...

maryz

Lovely, alpiner!  And a great way to use up some of the yarn stash. I made several of those, but haven't in a long time. I knit more now (with the one and almost-two new great-grandbabies), but occasionally crochet an afghan, using a "pattern" I got from one an aunt made many years ago.

I'm keeping it !!  I haven't made any thing for myself in years .  I have another afghan that needs finishing too .  Mostly I crochet baby blankets  for Project Linus ( a charity ) .  Then need to make husband slippers . I patched his the other day .
