Hello! (Sorry I didn't see your welcome until now.) I am 67, a retired nonpracticing lawyer who worked in publishing, in New York, with no family nearby. My hobby is taking photos of Yonkers, New York, where I lived fifty-something years ago. I post those photos at a group like this one. Since the one person I know here is also from Yonkers and since he has seen my Yonkers stuff, I'll post a photo of more general interest, a panorama of New York harbor from Governors Island. I strongly recommend Governors Island (along with the Staten Island ferry and the Roosevelt Island tramway) as cheap, magnificent sightseeing vehicles for tourists new to New York.

Welcome "MSG" (I know who you are [I'm RichTE on your site]). I'm a bit tardy at seeing this, sorry. Feel free to use your name (first name) as they're all good people here. I wouldn't post it here lest you have a reason you don't want it known.

Thank you, Rich.

My name is Michael Stephen Gross, but I also use "MSG" as a kind of name, in signing little notes, memos, Christmas cards, and other papers not likely to implicate money, law, or other serious matters.

And now I'm 68.

Have a pleasant Sunday MSG!
You were 67 and now 68, so you just had a birthday? Then, Happy Birthday to you and I wish you many more opportunities for great photos.
We would love to see them in our discussion Photos old and new.

Hello

Not sure if I am posting this in the right box, but here goes...

I used to be a member here some time ago but life got busy....however, I have just rejoined, and I look forward to taking part in discussions again.

I normally live in Edinburgh, Scotland, but at the moment I am living in our other house on Deeside (north east Scotland) as my husband works up here, and I didn't want to be on my own during our lockdown. So I have been up here for quite a few weeks now, and to be honest I am enjoying it quite a lot. The house is small but there are only the two of us in it, it has a small garden at the end of which there is a brook and (on the opposite bank) woodland, and there are country walks I can do from the front door.

In Edinburgh I am the administrator of St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral, but I am currently 'furloughed' so my days are free to read, write, garden, walk and keep in contact with family and friends.

I have two daughters, both staying, at the moment, in our house in Edinburgh. One is an art student at Dundee University and the other is the Music & Arts administrator for a large London school - she is working from home.  My son is an ambulanceman and lives with his wife at Aviemore in the Cairngorms (Highlands of Scotland).

I am interested in most things!

Best wishes,

Rosemary
