I Wanna Be Loved by You
Marilyn Monroe,

I want to be loved by you, just you,
And nobody else but you,
I want to be loved by you, alone!
Boop-boop-a-doop!

I want to kissed by you, just you,
Nobody else but you,
I want to be kissed by you, alone!

Boop-boop, I couldn't aspire,
To anything higher,
Than, filled with desire,
To make you my own!
Boop-boop-a-doop, boop-boop-a-doop!

I want to be loved by you, just you,
And nobody else but you,
I want to be loved by you, alone!

Aa-ah-um! Boop-boop-a-doop!
Daddle-at-dat-dat-dumb, I couldn't aspire,
To anything higher,
Than, filled with desire,
To make you my own,
Bup-bum, butle-doodle-dumb-bum!

I want to be loved by you, just you,
Nobody else but you,
I want to be loved by you, a-lup-a-dup-a-dup-a-dup!
Boop-boop-a-doop!

A man is talking to God. "God, how long is a million years?"

God answers, "To me, it's about a minute."

"God, how much is a million dollars?"

"To me, it's a penny."

"God, may I have a penny?"

"Wait a minute."

Time is relative, especially to the entity that invented it.

Good morning...

Another overcast day with rain to come. Jobs I didn't get done yesterday may get done today. Not going to commit  to any as one never knows how the day may go. The folks came and picked up their trug and as usual we stood outside and gabbed away the time. Good talk and good giggles. She is also a dog love and they board dogs for people going on vacation .

Bubble, thank you for the new start love pearls of wisdom. As you know there are some people that don't appreciate anything in this world. The song of a bird, flutter of butterfly wing, gentle breeze blowing on a hot day, and one could go on..

We are half way through the lock down/stay at home ruling, everyone will be so glad to get back to normal ,if there ever will be a normal.

Better scoot

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

A Busy Bubble this morning... looking good & great text. Funny how the memory of Marilyn singing that to PresKennedy is so vivid. Love the "gotcha" Wait a Minute...

Amy, we are chilly this morning & looks like a bit of winter heading our way. Not clear in my head how to cover my trug with a tall tomato plant (with blooms) right in the middle. With our wind it must be something that can't blow down & smash. I think the bucket the kitty litter comes in may be tall enough & then a blanket over that & clamps to hold it to the trug. That might work....have to think about it. I put in 4 packages of lettuce; mixed salad, Bibb, endive & oops, can't think of the other. I buried the packages along side each so will have to look. My daughter helped & said she wants a photo when they pop out of the ground.

Good Morning to ALL.. wake up!  Cats are fed, daughter off to have breakfast with a friend so I just may crawl back in bed to finish my sleep. Fitbit won't tell me how much I got so far so I'm pretty sure a little more won't hurt. Nice to see so many show up yesterday, and with good news, too. Happy Birthday, Gloria  :hb3:  :hb2:

well another of those sleep les nights. but I thought of something funny to tell you all. the grand and great grands went fishing the other day. Acutely were snagging 60 70 pound spoonbill cat fish. they had cadien our just past 2 year old with them, he was in the back of the boat, when they pulled the first one in, he ran to the front of the boat yelling shark , they said if one had them  not Cought him he most likely would ran out the front the boat. that will be a good true story to tell him in a few years. I think I will go take a couple those Pain pills and see If I can catch a few of those  zzzzz's.

Good morning..
Lloyd, thank you for my morning chuckle. I can see why he would think that .
We are out of here in a bit to get groceries, then home to work about.

Shirley, buckets over your plants will work. A sheet that is resting on sticks will also work. I am tempted to plant some seeds in the one that has a cover made of plastic  just to see if I can get an early crop. Planting season starts around May 24 usually.

Phyllis, made your 15 beans soup with the meat and ran it to the neighbour as they are both under the weather and they enjoyed it.

Better  get my town duds on.

Enjoy your day and stay safe..bbl.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I'm up and attem and chuckling at your little one, LLOYD!  I can see him in a few years, first denying that he said that and then laughing with all of you at himself!

It's almost time for the boinger so I'll have to make this one short!  After the boinger, the day begins with a bang.  Lots to do today!  I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.

I've raced thru half a dozen times today & nobody (including ME) stopped to post. Getting all ready for daughter to head back to her home tomorrow. Will be quiet around here.

Still no Gloria to let us know how the birthday girl did yesterday (or was that today???) My days are running together.

It rained most of the night & day, down right chilly. Had to dig coats back out & now 'tis the season of winter/summer clothes. Tomorrow will have to prepare for an over night freeze for my tomato plants. Had a giggle about your "sheet" suggestion, Amy, IN THIS WIND!!!  I do have clamps to hold the lining down that hangs over so can use them to stretch a tarp over to hold down. The bucket over the big guy will keep the tarp from slapping the seeds. Worry-worry...

Lloyd, my Fitbit told me I got one minute LESS than 3 hours sleep so I am heading to bed early tonight. Too many things going on, like all the propane leaked out of the motorhome, need to find out why before filling & then might as well get it DEwinterized. Also time to have the pool cover taken off & that means lots of extra work (and money). Yard needs extra maintenance, filled a trash bag with dandelions yesterday (nearly every day) that I dig out, those pickers are so handy, but was not supposed to bend over for a week after each cataract removed. Is a losing battle with so many blowing their seeds from the banks of the river. I don't use sprays because of birds & cats. Had a visit with the doctor that will "write the scrip for glasses" in several weeks, have not found a place that can make them the way I need. Much to long for tonight's thinking. Drops in eyes are a pain to do... and so on. Loved the shark story. "Hi" to Nancy for me.

Good night to Every Friend, God Bless and somebody remember how to sprinkle the angel dust over us like Joan used to do...PLEASE! Love ya, Shirley

Good morning..

Overcast and it may give us some liquid sunshine today.

Not sure if laundry will be hung out  but will wait and see how the day goes.Jessie has cleaned up his breaksfast but Babe is sleeping in this morning. Topped their meal with eye of round and some ground beef making in more inviting for them.

Jane, one thing you will be is a nobody. Just ask your family, friends , co -workers, neighbours ,girl guide troops, internet friends , my son and ME!! Met with them yesterday and it sounds as if he is going to go back to work on Sun, leg is sore but he can sit comfortable now and not be in so much pain.

Cleaned Peepers cage but left it where it was, keep checking to see if she is ok and yesterday had a voice message on the phone and every time I would listen to those she would make herself known in box car letters.......but all was silent this time. Time to put the cage away.

Lloyd, shared your story of the "shark" with the kids and they also had a good laugh..thank you.

Jenny, how is Michele doing? Is your arm/shoulder healing ?

Gloria and Joy hope your days are better.

Better get moving here

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Okay, Jane..... since I posted at the same time you did, I had to re-post & didn't mention that you snuck in!  :-\   Bad ME! We've gone back to winter & I am totally unbalanced because I had turned my head to spring/summer & this old lady isn't that flexible anymore!

My daughter is on her way home so the house feels a tad lonely. (Two cats outside & Tiger went to the basement for less noise.) Her car was packed to running out the tail pipe... seriously. I sent her home with some stuff that sooner or later will be hers to decide whether to keep or get rid of & figured no time like the present!

Will be busy today coming up with a cover for the trug/removable & replaceable. Looks like a whole week of iffy weather ahead. My world is full of that lime green color of new leaves popping out on all the trees. Even the redbud has leaves on the ends of the branches. My volunteer redbuds are gorgeous with blooms so solid on each branch they are a blast of color. Have some all sizes blooming. I pull them up & put in a pot & after a year I plant them where they can avoid the mowers. The tree next door is so prolific it's almost a menace, but since they cut down the "partner" tree on the opposite side of the yard, I wonder if it's seeds will grow like before. I have little ones growing all over, just water the ground around, take a long kife like my mother used to use for digging up flowers, and gently pull the little ones out of the ground (bare root), put them in a pot using the "root stimulator" like Mom did, & they grow like weeds. I've passed them on to family & friends for years.

And now I need to get busy. It's chilly in KS, wet but not snow in my part. Enjoy your weekend.

Good morning from the Interior! Nothing new here; everything weatherwise is progressing steadily but slowly, as is my leg. I hope Gloria is doing well, and I imagine she's doing a lot of resting. I hope Jenny and Michele are both healing and resting as well.

We've begun our morning text again around here, which is nice. We had stopped for a while, but now it's nice to check in again to know alls alright in our small corner of friends and neighbors.

Shirley, even cardboard box over the plant ,held down by a stone/brick would work. Will send you photo of what Kyle has made if my tablet behaves .

Patricia, good to hear the texting has started again. I see our neighbours out and about so they must be feeling a bit better.

Bread is out of the oven and laundry is almost done....and I do feel a nap coming on..

But, Amy, what if it rain & the cardboard box crushes down on my tomato plants??? I do have a problem with "what ifs"......haha... With the taller tomato plants in the center it's not possible to just cover with plastic so must come up with a wind proof & waterproof tent. Thanks for the tips.... our wind is such a problem.

I'm still sitting at the computer & been watching Prince Phillip's funeral. I'm so sorry for the Queen to lose the one person she's been able to talk to and giggle with for 73 years, and know she won't be betrayed. Much as we love our kids, not quite the same.

Shirley, large garbage bag wrapped around it. We have carpenters bags and they are huge but don't need that size here now.

They had complete trust and respect for each other.....very rare to find anymore.

Let the fire go out  but think it is time to make it come to life again. Sun is off playing somewhere else and doesn't want to come out to play today.

OK, SHIRLEY, I'll let you get away with it this time!

This has been a busy (and exhausting) day!  Daughter Cathy picked me up to go to the Amish store today.  This is the first time we've been there since the shutdown and the first time I've done any real grocery shopping since Mar. 2020 when I broke my arm.  I didn't realize what it took out of me.  I came home and put away the frozen stuff and then took Mickie for a long walk.  We had lunch and I put away most of the rest of the groceries.  Then I realized I was just plain exhausted.  I made the mistake of walking past the couch and all those zzzzzzzs jumped up and grabbed me!  My eyes went into immediate slamshut and that was that!

I feel better now and after we have some supper, we'll do another walk and then loaf for the rest of the evening.  This is going to be a busy week coming up.  First getting ready for company, then entertaining company (they'll help.  It's my daughters) Then recuperating from entertaining.  If I don't spend a lot of time here, don't worry.  I'll be back!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

A Saturday Afternoon HELLO to all.  I enjoyed watching the simplistic but beautiful funeral from the UK.

I managed  to pull my good shoulder so could not type at all yesterday....still tender today but moving somewhat better.

Thank you, ALL for asking about Michele.

Unfortunately Michele took a turn for the worse yesterday. Dave knew she was very confused on the phone when she called him very early yesterday morning.  After he arrived he could tell it was much more serious than just being anesthesia related.  He asked them to do something, I can't remember the official nam, and they discovered a brain bleed.  Many tests and discussions but realize it is a weekend and all they thought they ere going to do, the now have told them not until Monday.  Mind you she has not had food since Thursday dinner.  She has now ordered something.  A CT scan during the night showed the bleed has stopped for now......they reversed her Eloquist (blood thinner) with a 21K dollar shot.....feeling it caused the bleed.   We are of course extremely concerned about this, but nothing more we can do other than continue to pray🙏🙏🙏

JANE, I am smiling after reading you got to shop at the Amish Store.  I think many of us did not realize how much this past year has taken out of us.  Catch those zzzz's when ever you can....they are good for you.

My arm has had it so I must say bye for now.

Jenny

Oh, Jenny, I am so sad for Michele and Dave, he is suffering with her every step and I'm sure it is draining him because he knows what each set back means. Prayers for them and all that are going through this with her (especially their kids). Sorry you messed up your GOOD shoulder. Got to treat it will special care having to do the job of both for now. Take care and my thoughts will be with you & your family when I kneel in church tomorrow morning.

I am going to bed early tonight, did not get one minute of DEEP sleep last night (think I already told you that?) Not sure if I should make Tom & Callie stay inside tonight, she would rather but Tom would rather stay out. She hates cold more than he does, & he'd rather spend the day inside sleeping so that's the choices they make.

Amy, good idea putting trash bag over a box & brick on top. Hopefully I will get it done before the freeze Tuesday night!

Sweet dreams to all. Love ya, Shirley

...i am just lost for words, re, your Michele...if it is not one thing, it is another...just glad the brain bleed was found sooner rather than later, before it caused any more damage to her...Just hope and pray they are on-top of what actually caused it, the blood thinners....

Good morning...

A new up date on the computer has me pondering . now to get used to a different format.....again :knuppel2: Do they not know if'n it ain't broke, don't fix it???

A day of rest here....just meeting with friends to exchange items in town and that is it.

We have a resident robin that loves to start around 5:30 am to welcome the morning bless his heart. Then one loon called to another across the lakes  and I don't know what what said but they met up and were both calling as they flew over the house. Can't sleep through that!

We had two ladies stop and look at the trugs yesterday and one ordered one and the other lady is thinking about. Just hope we can get the supplies to make it.

Enjoy your day and stay safe..

Just stopping by to say "Good Morning Everyfriend".  May you all have a better day than yesterday.

JENNY, my prayers are still with Michele and her whole family...especially the children.  This must be a very difficult time for them and they must be very special kids to be bearing all this in their young lives.  Michele is lucky to have the family she does and I'm sure that's a big part of her will to carry on.

I hope your shoulder is mending.  Please take special care not to put extra pressure on other parts of your body.  I know how tempting it is to do that.

Everyone...you are all in my prayers daily!

AMY, around here we have the pigeons cooing in their nests constantly.  You can hear them best in the morning and the evening and it's a very soothing sound.  The geese have left our pond and moved on north or wherever it is they spend their summers.  I love to observe their passing.  I think there is also an eagle's nest nearby.  I've seen one sitting on top of the telephone pole several times a day every summer for three years now.  I always pray for his safety and that of his family when I see him.  He looks so proud!

Nice to have you visit us, JACKIE.  Come back often and tell us what you're up to.

Jane or anyone that plants tomatoes.

Try this if you want some tomato plants. Take a slice of tomato about 1/2 inch , plant  it in a container with about 1/2 inch dirt over top. Cover it with a clear bag or I used plastic wrap and set it in the window in a sunny spot. I did this and now have tomato plants poking their heads through!!

I made sure that the slice of tomato had seeds in it...think this one was beefsteak so we shall see how it progresses.

Well, never thought of that, Amy, but had done potatoes when they sprouted & had a nice patch. I did cover mine last night & looks like we have SNOW in the forecast for next Tuesday-Wed. Ouch! I will have to do a better job for that next storm since the whole "back side" of this tent was open to the cold wind. Thinking, thinking...

Better go see where Tom went, he stayed inside during the night but went out before I left for church. Somebody (Callie or Tom) had bunny for breakfast & left the innards for me to clean up by the back door... yuck. Will have to keep an eye on Tom to make sure he goes out if he acts like his tummy is upset. Callie is nowhere in sight & I can't remember if she was in or out when I left.

Jenny, I thought of Michele & the family all through church, praying for a break for all of them. She must have a very special job to suffer so much, I've always heard that "God doesn't ask for more than we can handle"..... He must be very proud of her and all the family.

And now I must get busy. Egg biscuit from McDonald's to eat, I had 3 slices of French toast before leaving so this is breakfast #2. Wishing ALL a Super Sunday (thanks, Callie)...

Shirley, I did not think it would work either but the shoots are coming up in the pot on the kitchen window. I will have to find homes for them as I really don't want a lot of tomato plants. Just enough for table use is all. I go to the Mennonite's to buy bushels to do down.

Don't you wish God didn't trust us that much? When you have come through what Michele has I am sure she can handle anything.

Hi Joy....good to "see". You are missed!!!

Been a while since I have been here.

I am still having some medical issues.n Will be happy to have the first cataract surgery on the 26th.  The second one won't be until June 14th.

I am having a terrible time seeing.  Also having problems with my feet and legs swelling.  My daughter-in-law  comes in the mornings to wrap them.  another problem to deal with.  Not easy getting around[

Been having to use the wheelchair.  Just falling apart, I guess. LOL

Hope everyone is doing well.  Did not read any of the postings today. Just wanted to say Hello.

Hello Everyfriend!  And a special one to you, JOY!  So glad to "see" you poke your head in!  I'm sorry you're having such a bad time but glad you have someone nearby to help you out.

We're in  the process of cleaning up and putting away around here.  If I'm going to have house guests this coming weekend, I need space for them to move around, eat and communicate with one another.  So lots of "stuff" is being put away.  I sure hope I can find it after they all leave!

I'm planning a quick trip to the store on Tuesday and Mickie goes to the groomer on Wed. And I need to make a trip to the drug store for eye drops tomorrow.  Lots to do!  Then clean and change two beds before Thursday.  If you don't see me don't worry.  I'm just making up for time spent loafing!

And now, my eyes are going into slamshut mode so I better see if there are any zzzzs waiting in the bedroom for me to join them.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy Spring day tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Forgot to say, I don't think I'll try planting the tomato because I'm not the best gardener in the world and there are people who give away free tomato plants.  But I sent the idea to my daughter Christy in Maryland and I'd be willing to bet she'll try it.

Good morning..

Not starting off all that warm with a temp of 40° but it is nice and sunny..

Busy day ahead of us here. First to the lumber yard to pick up material for another trug, home drop it off and then get ready to go back into town for Kyle to get a Holter monitor put on.

Jane, you have a very busy day ahead of you! Take time for you, stop a min for a break or two.

Patricia, is your snow all gone now?

Lloyd, is missing..

Better get a move on..

Enjoy your day and stay safe..

Just dropping by to say that I'm here.  Yesterday was not a good day for me but I think today will be a little better.  At least I feel a little less unstable this morning.

Hope everyone is doing OK this morning.

Take care, All.

Good Morning Everyfriend...especially PHYLLIS and AMY.

PHYLLIS, sorry you had a bad day but I hope you're right about today being better.

I slept all night last night for a change but Mickie is still hitting the deck early and we were up and moving a little before 6 a.m.  We had her pill in and breakfast and a walk before Cooper got here at 8:30 without his breakfast.  So we fed him and let him out in the yard and then I got busy.

I have the PA Dutch Pot pie rolled and ready to go when the girls are here on the weekend.  We'll have to decide what will be the best time because it's also on SIL Craig "like it" list.  I haven't made it for a while so I'm ready for some, too.  The chicken and broth are in the freezer waiting to make their appearance.

Now I'm off to get more stuff ready and made a run to town to pick up eye drops.

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Good morning from a still cool Interior. Our weather and barometric pressure have been bouncing. Our temperatures range between the thirties for a low and forties and fifties for highs. The snow has not been visibly melting but has been rapidly retreating. Everything is brown and white.

I haven't felt well the past week with my osteoarthritis.

Amy, I hope all goes well with Kyle's appointment and your day today. Yesterday I saw a Texas white sheet cake that I'll post for you when I'm able. I have no idea why it's called that, but it sounded good.

I ordered a new bed set, which will arrive this week. So that's something to look forward to. Other than that, I haven't done a lot.

Jane, it sounds like you're busy for a while, enjoy your family time. You're lucky to have them close. I'm going to look up your PA Dutch Pot Pie as it sounds like just the recipe for these cooler days.

Phyllis,  I hope today will see you going back to less pain and more normality. I think this cooler weather is affecting all of us this spring.

I hope all is okay with Lloyd?

Another busy day has ended and my eyes are entering the slamshut stage.  I hear the zzzzzs calling me from the bedroom and I'm afraid they will be coming down the hall after me soon.

PATRICIA, my kids are not ALL close by.  Two of them live in our hometown just around a couple corners from me and one granddaughter lives and works here.  One daughter lives in Maryland (about 2 and a half hour drive from here.  The one in Oklahoma  is coming for a visit on Thursday and staying until Tuesday.  That's why they are all gathering.  It's been 2 years since we've had a visit with Cindy and we're all excited.

Also, I could probably write down the recipe as I do it for the PA Dutch Potpie but not until after the kids are back to their places.  If you don't find one, let me know.  I've done it without a recipe most of my life.  I started helping to make it before I was out of high school and I've been at it ever since.  My grandmother and my mother didn't have a recipe written down but I remember writing it out for one of my granddaughters a couple years ago.  I might have kept a copy on the computer.

It's not hard to make but it is a bit time consuming.  And I can't just make a little bit but it does freeze well.

Gotta go.  The busies are going to take over tomorrow and I have to sleep a bit before that happens.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy Spring day tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

thanks everyone. well I got rid of the catheter, But it left some damage, was starched too tight and rubbed a sore spot In the wrong please, so now that to heal. I have some Plastic tank ends four foot square and a foot deep in a frame, Making a raised bed twenty foot long and four foot wide, with some 1/2" diameter P B C pipe Making bows over them two screech clear Plastic over, Making a miniature green house. lengthen the growing season on both ends. If you have the right window in the east or south east can set some big flower pots in front of and raise plants in them. I snuck a grape fruit seed in one of ours and have  tree growing, is about four inches tall with 6 leaves on it so far. If it get's too tall for in the house I will put it in the green house in the center, it can grow about 16 foot tall in there. I have friend in heaven, when she was with us here on earth, she grew a Lamon tree In a pot from seed. It got about two foot tall and bared lemons on it. I thing as many as three at a tome and full sized ones. more than one time. all it takes is T L C. Have a good day. I am going back to bed, the Nature call has been taken care of.

Good morning..

A frosty one here and they are calling for "s"...hope it finds another place to drop.....and NOT Alaska!

Picking the neighbour up after she drops her vehicle off this morning ,then taking her in when it is ready today.

We did pick up the lumber yesterday and some pieces have gone up in price...seems never ending and it really doesn't matter where you go ,it is all the same. Even grocery prices are soaring.

Jane, this year I am going to can turnip. David said that it turns out great and if you need turnip for a stew etc, just open a jar and dump it in. Saves cooking it up all the time.

Ok Lloyd, I am putting both you and Kyle on the  front porch when it warm up. He is wearing a Holter monitor with wires abound and has to keep it on till tomorrow. That way you both can jaw and stay out of trouble.

Phyliss, hope today is a much better day for you.

Patricia, what colour did you get your bed set in? Hope you also feel much better today..

Better get ready ,neighbour will be leaving shortly.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  The sun is shining and the temp is supposed to reach the mid 60s today.  I can live with that.

Jackie, we call them "couch potatoes" here, too.

AMY, I pulled weeds for 10 minutes yesterday and had half a bagful and sore back!  I'm not much good any more.

This morning we were up early again and I was still tired after Mickie was out and in and had her pill.  So we hit the couch for her hour of "wait time" after the pill.  Then we had breakfast and I tood a shower and we took a nice walk!  I put some more stuff away and now I'm having my second cup of coffee and a visit with friends

AMY, KEEP THAT SNOW ON YOUR SIDE OF THE BORDER!!

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Good morning from the Interior! Nothing new here other than any room cleaning I used to do in a couple of hours; now it takes a couple of days! Amy, we're not getting more snow, it's retreating, and the graders and dump trucks cleared it from the roadways. Everything is muted whites and browns with temperatures to remain in the thirty to the fifty-degree range here the rest of the month.

I envy you and Jane with all your activities. I seem to have no gumption yet, but it's coming back but slower than I'd like.

My set is a dark gray, as are the new towels I purchased in January. My new down comforter, due Wednesday, is also dark gray. My older winter rate is white. The six kitchen cupboard shelves from February are bronze and still sitting in their box. That is one reason for my frustration. I had a plan, and I would have been done by now.

Before organizing and getting rid of older items, in 2017, I had a grand plan with a four-step program. This was to have been the fourth step.

Been out to check on the trug & little growing things. ALL the packages of lettuce, endive, spinach are up so Google recommended plenty of water before a freeze, the tomato plants seem to be thriving even though I left them covered all day. The shower curtain kept them warm & that old double knit table cloth was great for stretching over the shower curtain & clamping down snug. One more super cold night & that's all for now. I am one happy gardener. Pure luck, totally ignorant about gardening, although I did my share of hoeing weeds as a kid. I do remember Mom & Dad putting Vigaro around everything, wonder if they still sell it?  Being built close to the ground that was one of my jobs and, "make sure you don't let it touch the plants, Shirley".....

Sun is bright but that wind has a bite, even with hooded sweatshirt & nylon coat to stop the wind. The trees, shrubs & grass/weeds a really green tonight. Weather guesser thinks it will warm up & early part of next week, almost summer. Not sure my mimosa tree will make it, no sign of leaves/buds yet. The Crape Myrtle doesn't have any sign of life yet, either. My son said his doesn't either.

Got my new indoor grill and so disappointed, my own fault. I had been reading about the grill that had the "window" for searing but wasn't paying attention, no window on this one. I expected it to be easier to clean than George Foreman because ad says grill & other parts can go in dish washer. Well, I wouldn't expect to get all the little crevices in that lid clean with exposed screws, etc. Won't send it back, but they sure have a creative ad writer! I won't put the model number in but anyone thinking of buying needs to double check with the top rated. I will give it a try, have some hamburger thawing. I think I will use some grill aluminum foil to put inside the lid to see if that will keep any grease from popping on those screws. Not at all happy with my purchase, think I should have checked out the models in person instead of my rush to buy. Bad me...

Good snowy morning...

Yes, we are being gifted with snow. Every time I get my snow tires off we get snow it seems. Not impressed.
The heart monitor goes back today and we have banking to do then home to corral dust bunnies. Have to rotten...ummm very ripe bananas to use up.

Shirley ,wow didn't take long for your seed to germinate . In no time you will be reaping the benefits of your trug.

Jane, my slam shuts hit me right after lunch and we all had an hours sleep!

Jenny, hope all is well with you and yours.

Lloyd, one of my favourite songs sang by Doris Day.

Patricia, all soothing colours and stand the test of time.

Best find warm clothes for today. I was thinking of putting them all away but had better wait a bit.

Enjoy your day and stay safe..

Please keep the snow north of the route between Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.  Cindy will be in the air tomorrow morning on her way for her visit with us.  And then she and her daughter in the Philadelphia area will be on the road from the airport here.  We don't need any snow to hamper their travels.

Today will be pretty busy.  Mickie goes to the groomer and I have a few errands to do before my company arrives.  I wish you all a good day....better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.

Good morning. I plan to do some shopping and bill paying this morning and getting items ready for laundry tomorrow. I'm finally feeling less pain and more stable as the barometric pressure stabilizes.

Amy, I've planned more neutrals and less color, with more textures in my furnishings. The dark gray will go with my other white set. The black, gray, and white apartment colors are coming together, and the kitchen reorganizing will pull that room together nicely. It's more natural and soothing and flows well together. I'm enjoying seeing my long-range planning coming together so well.

Jane, enjoy your family time. To me, your family is close. One of my sisters is 2,257 miles, and the rest of the family is 4000 or more miles away. My younger sister is planning several trips this summer, and she retired in February, so she is planning some foliage US trips and one international this year. She's enjoying the freedom after so many years of owning her own business.

Good Morning Everyone ..  It is going
to be a beautiful day here in Portland,
Maine.

So glad to see the better weather
coming and will be glad when it stays
for a while.

Summer is not my favorite time,  but I
do love Spring and Fall.

I am in the process of changing
things around in my living area now
that I have my store room my bedroom.

Part of that is also going through all
the stuff that I onced stored in the store
room..   Much I don't need so going through
it,  and getting rid of most of it is
the chore I am facing now.  It is working,
I just have to keep doing it and not
let it get the best of me!    (Never easy!)

Night before last I had a restless
nights sleep,  with not much sleep
included,  so this morning I slept in
until 11:30 when my gal friend called
and woke me up.

I do not like sleeping in and
waking up late,  but such is life
these days.   I sleep when I can.

Have a good day, Everyone.
Sandy

Got this from an old friend (same age as me) & thought "how true" at OUR age!  Hope you enjoy...

Bob feared his wife Peg wasn't hearing as well as she used to and he thought she might need a hearing aid.

Not quite sure how to approach her, he called the family Doctor to discuss the problem.

The Doctor told him there is a simple informal test the husband could perform to give the Doctor a better idea about her hearing loss.

'Here's what you do,' said the Doctor, 'stand about 40 feet away from her, and in a normal conversational speaking tone see if she hears you.
If not, go to 30 feet, then 20 feet, and so on until you get a response.'

That evening, the wife is in the kitchen cooking dinner, and he was In the den.
He says to himself, 'I'm about 40 feet away, let's see what happens.'
Then in a normal tone he asks, 'Honey, what's for dinner?'

No response.

So the husband moves closer to the kitchen, about 30 feet from his wife and repeats,
'Peg, what's for dinner?'

Still no response.

Next he moves into the dining room where he is about 20 feet from his Wife and asks,
'Honey, what's for dinner?'

Again he gets no response.

So, he walks up to the kitchen door, about 10 feet away.
'Honey, what's for dinner?'

Again there is no response.

So he walks right up behind her. 'Peg, what's for dinner?'

(I just love this & it's SO true)

'For Gods sake, Bob, for the FIFTH time, CHICKEN!'

Loved it, SHIRLEY, only I AM the one who needs a hearing aid.  I know when the kids are all gathered this week, I'm going to wish I had one!

Right now, it's a "seeing" aid I need.  My eyes have gone into slamshut stage and I'm tired right up the gazoo!  But I'm ready for my company tomorrow.  Every time I tried to sit down today, I thought of something else I had to do.  I'm ready for the haystack!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy Spring day tomorrow.  We had rain today and when it stopped, the sun stayed behind the clouds and the wind blew.  It was NOT a nice Spring day!

Good morning..

Snow has gone again and let us hope this time gone till Nov!!

Picking up a few things in town then home get some work done.

Lloyd, I am so sorry to read this! I thought Bob said that you could live there  no matter what the court said. I would have an auction on all the things you can't take and leave him with just dust to play with. People like Bob will pay dearly for what they have done to others.

Shirley, one could write a book on what is said and what one thought was said here. Must admit it can be funny at times and I do have to wait so I can repeat it right without laughing. On that note we are to head to the city for a remote for Kyle's hearing aids......YAY!!

Jane hope you can take it easy today. Don't want to tucker yourself out so that you don't enjoy your company. Remember they are coming to see you, not do a house inspection.  I will ask him next time we talk. I never know where he is..

Better get ready to meet the day..

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

LLOYD, I am so sorry to hear your bad news.  Like AMY, I thought he had agreed to your living in the house even if the decision went the other way.  I agree that you should not leave him a screwdriver or a stick of furniture or a curtain for a window.  Sell it all out from under him!  Take what you want and need and leave NOTHING else!

I'm heading for the shower now so I'm dressed and ready to greet company!  I wish you all a good day, better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.

Another that's sorry the judgement didn't go your way, Lloyd.... are you SURE that judge isn't related to Bob?  :o  I also wouldn't leave a thing not in the deal. When we sold a house with a "handshake" instead of formal paper to hold the deal until papers signed next day, the guy came with less than agreed to because he knew we were anxious to get moved. He wasn's a bit sorry about breaking his word, just said "take it or not". So I took down travis rods & drapes not in the package, and even a room size wool carpet that wasn't glued down. I would have left everything if he had kept his end of the bargain. Haha, 55 years later I still have those travis rods & some of the other stuff. Take care, for sure it will be a big job but think of it as the rest of us when we have to downsize, maybe you can stay out of trouble without all that machinery? Hugs to you & Nancy and expect the grands & grands living downstairs will be moving as well. Go house hunting for your ideal retirement home and make a new, easier life for you & Nancy.

Oh, Jane, I'm in the same boat as that guy, for sure it's everyone else's problem, they just don't talk as loud as they used to!  ;)

Shirley, your story brought to mind of a JOKE that I had read on the internet.

A couple divorced and he was to get the house in the settlement. He wanted it for his g/f and him. The wife asked for just one last night in the house so he agreed.  She bought a shrimp ring.....a huge bottle of wine and put some soothing music on.  When done the wine and shrimp she took all the shrimp tails and packed them into the curtain rods.
Her ex and his g/f moved in and as you can expect in time those shrimp tails gave off a horrid gut retching smell. They tried everything to rid the house of this smell!! Not being able to do so, they put the house on the market to sell.......but no one wanted this smelly home...........that is until the ex wife made such a low ball offer and they accepted!!!

The ex wife moved and the first thing she did was get new curtain rods. :))

I'm on my way to bed and I wasn't going to post but I had to say that I agree 100% with everyone else.  Fe is absolutely adorable!  And I can't believe it's 5 years already!

Good night all!  I'm really worn out and tomorrow is going to be another day like today!  I love them all but I have to sleep!  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy Spring day tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Thursday evening already. This week has been a very trying one for our family.  The week started out very bleak for Michele, but the last two days have shown some improvements.  Of course any improvements are just wonderful to hear.  She is slowly starting to get a bit stronger. The decision was made yesterday to start radiation on her entire brain. This has not been a treatment plan they ever wanted to do, hence the three gamma knife procedures that she did have done on smaller regions. They did treatment #2 today and 5 more will follow each day.
The goal is to get her stronger so she can get home as soon as possible!

SANDY, I have already seen this darling picture of Fe, today on FB.  SHE IS DARLING.  ALWAYS has been.

LLOYD, I feel sick to my stomach after reading your post about your home being taken away from you by this person that you thought of as a friend. I have to admit it,  I NEVER thought you could possibly loose this case😡
I am so sad for you and Nancy.

Tomorrow I go to see my surgeon.  I will get my sutures out, I am sure.  Then I know I will be told what PT he will want me to start. Problem being.....he is used to working on athletes and not old ladies that are not in great shape!  I am hoping he will agree to let me have some in home PT to start.

Enjoy the visit with your girls, JANE.

Pleasant dreams to all.

Jenny

Sandy, she has gorgeous eyes.... and doesn't even need make up! Seriously, she is & at any age, will be a beautiful person, the kind that show up on magazine covers.

Did I mention that when I went out to take the motorhome to have the propane tank filled so the RV doctors can work on it next week to find the leak & de-winterize... but it was DEAD. Andy got over tonight & checked it out... 5 year battery about a year old so covered, but I have to get it there to replace. That's on the schedule for tomorrow morning, then on to fill the propane & hope it doesn't leak out again before it gets to the next stage.

I think I'd like to run away from home withOUT cats and motorhome. I'm feeling so guilty tonight because I yelled at Tom for marking a box sitting on the floor in the hall... so wouldn't let him go to my bedroom all day & he's out tonight & it's cold, he didn't even eat his supper. I really hurt his feelings. I do think he is forgetting his "house manners" he has been outside so much lately, but he is getting old, too. I'm ready to part with the motorhome but know when all's well I will change my mind. Too much stress all at once. The eyes, company in the house is even a strain when not used to anyone around 24/7. Plus all the things that have gone wrong. I know, could be worse.  :-[

So, good night to all. Sweet dreams and God Bless. Love ya all. Shirley

Good to see you Jenny, and hope the days will be better for Michele. I have nothing to complain about compared with your whole family. When one hurts the whole family is in pain. Love to you all.

Good morning...

Going to be a nice day here. NO SNOW! Kyle needs to pick up some supplies at the lumber yard and if the grocery store isn't lined up back to PA USA I will pick up some essentials.

Jenny, praying for miracles..

Jane, hope you can relax some today.

Shirley, that motorhome sure has given you grief. Lots of work involved in keeping it  on the road.

Phyllis, Joy and Gloria hope your day is one that you enjoy.

Enjoy your day and stay safe..

Good Morning!  Cindy is up and checking in with her job.  Nice that she can take off and bring the essentials with her!

AMY, let me know if you want me to get in line and save you a space until you can get here to take it yourself!

Gotta go take the doggies for a walk.  I've inherited Cooper so Frankie can spend time with her cousin, Courtney who is Cindy's daughter.  No rest today!  Cindy wants to do a little "country sight seeing" and I'm going with her!  She has plans for dinner tonight but Christy will be arriving from Maryland around 7:30.  I love it!

Gotta go take the doggies for a walk!  Enjoy your day!  Prayers continue for the heroine of this group!  God bless Michele and her whole family!

Considering the terrible things that others here are dealing with I hesitate to say anything about myself but I will tell a little anyway.

For sometime I've been having a problem with my left foot and have been very worried that I was going to lose it.  I finally was able to see a specialist yesterday and he gave me the "good news/bad news".  I have a vascular condition called "acrocyanosis".  I will not lose my foot and I will not have to have surgery.  But, there is nothing that can be done about it so I will just have a purple foot and recurring pain, apparently for the rest of my life.  With a few aids such as pain medicine, elevation, compression stockings, etc.  I will be able to live with it.  It is caused by slowing or sluggish circulation that is depriving the tissue in the foot and lower leg of oxygen.  Not enough to destroy tissue but enough to cause some problems.  Not terribly common but not unexpected in a 91 year old.  But, it can be dealt with and I count myself very lucky.

I am so sorry for Lloyd's loss of his home but maybe it is time to find a smaller place in town and take life a little more slowly now that his heart is giving him some problems.

I'm sorry, too, for the not so good news about Michelle's on-going battle with cancer.  She and her Dr. Dave and the whole family are always in my prayers.

Take care, All.

Good morning everyone. Surprise, I am actually posting this morning. Had a good 7 hours sleep last night. Been lucky getting 3  hours sleep la tely then doze on and off all day. I am so lucky  to hve Yvette here  5 days. She is a pretty good cook and she makes sure I have meals  for the week ends. Las t  Sunday my oldes t son and DIL invi ted me out for dinner. Shock all my family here was there except one grand daughter who had to work. The res taurant was crowded bu t son had reservation. Looked like all family groups. My little grea t grandson came up to me with a big hug and handed me a card he made and inside he put some of his stickers. It now resides on my fridge.
Thank you for the birthday wishes. Hard to believe I am the youngest of my siblings and older than any of the others were when they passed away.

Hope it  starts feeling like spring here soon. Was 33 to start the day.

Have a good day and stay safe.

Good morning from the Interior! It's 34 this morning and, as usual, these days, to hit mid-fifties as a high. The snow is receding, and everything is brown, awaiting warmer weather. I wasn't able to get out and am also waiting for warmer weather and better days.

Phyllis, I was sorry to hear about your left foot and hoping that you will have better days with pain medication, stockings, and care. I wonder, along with Amy, if applied heat would help?

Gloria, it is so nice to see you posting and that you got some sleep! I'm glad you had time with family, and what a sweet great-grandson! It's nice to hear you and Yvette are back together again!

Good morning Jane! It looks like dogs and kids are back together at your house! Enjoy!

Good morning Amy! I didn't realize you lived that close to Jane or PA? It seems like you and Jane are always on the go with one errand or event or more. You'd probably be dangerous together if you lived closer. Between the two of you, you'd put things right!

Patricia.  we are 46° at the moment and a nice sunny day out. We just came back from getting 30 bags of mulch and now I need to find the energy to spread it around the trugs.

Jane and I do live far apart but we are close in heart. My son has met with Jane and I am so envious of him. He sometimes stops at the Walmart she worked at.

Talked with my neighbour, the man he took to the hospital  on Monday was given 2-3 weeks and to get his affairs in order...seems the 2-3 weeks was generous as he passed away last night. That makes two from this area and both had cancer. I really HATE that word.

Now I had better get my rear in gear and get  something done. I did come across a saying and thought  how fitting. Today I am doing nothing because I started doing it yesterday and I wasn't finished..I'm no quitter :).

We had a busy day! Right from 7:57 am when our load of firewood came, next the folks to pick up their trug and possibly order another one. Next we high tailed it ot the lumber store for more plastic and doweling. Back home Kyle worked on the tops/covers for two  of our trugs while I worked on the front garden laying down plastic them black mulch over top......all 30 bags of it.  During this time two people asked about a trug and one ordered one for next Fri. I don't think either one of us will need any rocking tonight..

Is this a compliment or not??  The folks that picked up the trug, her husband said while talking about covid that if he got it it would likely kill him at his age..he is a smoker which doesn't help the lungs. When I told him our age he said WOW I didn't think you were a DECADE..yup DECADE......(thats old) older than me... :2funny:

My ha ha for the day...

Going to do a lot of nothin g if Don hasn't done it all on me..

Today was a VERY busy day!  I made a good breakfast for my two daughters who spent the night here and for me, too.  Then took Mickie for a walk (Christy took Cooper).  Then we all got showered, dressed and Cathy arrived.  We went to lunch at "THE FENCE" (a local drive-in and then spent a couple hours walking the three floors at a local Antiques, and second hand store.  It's almost a block long and just about as wide as it is long.  We all came back to my house and the girls talked a while and then two of them left and I took a nap.

We were invited to Cathy's (I thought) for supper but it turned out to be a surprise birthday party for me at the local hotel dining room.  We had a room to ourselves and everyone was there.  I was surprised out of my socks!

When we came home, we took the doggies out and collapsed.  Cindy has gone to bed, Christy is getting ready to go and I'm on my way to the haystack!  I wish you all a peaceful nicght's sleep and a happy Spring day tomorrow!

AMY, congratulations on looking decades younger than you are!  Keep up the good work!

Good Morning everyone. I have been playin catchup. I am at least two days Behind Here. well I think what you call a trug Is what I call raised beds. I have to re build Mine they fell over and came apart when I was moving them. Nancy wanted the closer to the back door so she would not have to walk out to the greenhouse. my was 16ft long, consist of four x four one foot deep Plastic tubs, with bows out of PBC pipe over the top. with rails about two foot on the side of them where the venial was fastened , so the bottom 2 foot could be raised up to let air pas through. Now I just need to get some get up and go to fix them. Have a good day.

Good morning..

Another fantastic day in the making and a day of rest.
Cloudy with a threat of rain today...temp is 38 °

We are just going to do a lot of nothing today....get meals and that is about it.

Sandy, the best way I can explain trug is like Lloyd said a raised garden bed but this one is on legs..sort of like a manger on legs. Check them out here..

Jane, what a lovely surprise!!! You have special children, but then you're a SPECIAL Mom.

I do think there will be one job done and that is a cat nap at some point today.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning, Every Friend!  Got my eye drops in, one cat fed & 2 to go, then dress & off to church by 7:00 am. Tom usually just barely makes it home before I leave on Sunday mornings, Callie has taken to sleeping in her heated bed in the garage (she has a self feeder, water & litter box out there so what more can a girl need?) and Tiger slept in the basement bedroom last night. It is piled with pillows & other "stuff" to keep them off, but Tiger found one comfy spot & already has it fur laden so I'm leaving her be. Most of the time she sleeps with me but think we both sleep sounder each in our own beds.

Jane, what a delightful "gotcha" party! For sure they all enjoyed the surprise as much as you did, and to be honest, I'm enjoying reading about it. Time to break out from this year of seclusion, thanks for sharing with us!

Better get a move on. Lloyd, I will take a photo of my "trug" when I get home from church. We do leave right after Communion so I can get out of the lobby crowd. We now have part of the pews un-divided but one section still every other pew blocked off & only family members side by side. We have a new big church so plenty of room, it's that getting out that concerns me, with such close contact, lots of people. This is the 3rd new/bigger building in 11 years, the happiest church I've ever been in and a lot has to do with the hard working Priest whose family lived on a farm in the same county & his siblings still do. His mother died this past year but his father is still living. His assistant is from Oklahoma and he is equally up-beat & even younger.

Back to my trug, I never heard of one until Amy started talking about them. My kids took the hint & got me one for Christmas (or birthday) & recently put it together & we filled with dirt a few weeks ago. My Early Girl tomato plants already have blooms as does a single "Beefsteak" that had a few blooms when I bought it. Big Boys are later. All the lettuce varieties, including one pack of endive & one spinach, bibb & a mixture, are up & I'm ready to eat but will have to wait a while yet! It survived that late snow but hope I don't have to cover again.

Wishing all a Super Sunday, it's in the 40s & to be warm today. Love ya, all...Shirley

A good Sunday Evening HELLO to y'all.

First and foremost...AGAIN  I thank you ALL for the prayers and support you give for Michele.  She has been in a lot of pain today from the chest tube in her lung, but Dave said it is draining well and hopefully she can have it removed tomorrow 🙏🙏

Seem I have not posted since my visit to the surgeon.  I thought sure I had😩  The appointment went well. I only saw the docs PA, not him.
My sutures are out....the glued incision just waits to fall out when ever. They took X-rays of both shoulders.  Surgery one looks great, but the hurt one I have to get a MRI this coming Thursday to make sure I did not tear the rotator cuff.  I will be having in home PT for awhile 👍. I ask the if I was sitting up or laying down for my surgery?   They said I was sitting in a beach chair when my surgery was done....had a nice vacation and didn't even know it‼️

IF Ihave torn my rotator cuff on my good arm I will not be able to have it repaired until the first one is healed completely ‼️😩  I certainly hope and pray the MRI proves it is just a strain🙏🙏

Michele had a chest tube put into the bad lung that has the dead part last Friday.  They did not want to do this but she had to have it done as well as the 5 radiation treatments on her brain before they will allow her to join a new clinical study starting next week.

Dave took the children to visit Michele yesterday morning and it went very well.  Dave said it was just like they were sitting around the dinner table.  The kids thought she looked better than they expected her to😘. Best medicine possible for their mama
I must go help with dinner.  Dinner is over.....home made lasagna brought to us by one of my sweet first cousin's yesterday morning.  Along  with 2 breakfast's and fruit..  Veggie tray, special pasta salad, chili with corn bread bites and shredded cheese for the top and this amazing lasagna.  We ate on it all day yesterday and today, so it gave Bob a nice break from cooking.

DONKLIN,  ."I am busy doing nothing, but I'm two weeks behind"‼️ Thank you for a nice chuckle.

AMY, well, what better compliment could you ever hope to receive than the one you two got from the man picking up his trug!  I looked at the Walmart site and could not believe all the nice thugs there......can not pull that up here in the US😡  Indeed, MIRICLES are just what we are going to need for Our Michele🥰

JANE, what a wonderful surprise you had when you were fooled about where dinner would be served. HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY...... you are so loved‼️

GLORIA, it is always a happy day when we get a post from you.  So happy Yvette is there with you so much.

SHIRLEY, sounds like your trug contents are growing great....can't wait to see a picture.
PHYLLIS, I am sorry to read about your foot issue, but I am sure glad you found out it is not something that will cause you to loose your foot....how frightening.

Pleasant dreams to all....have a great Monday.

Jenny

Good Morning Everyfriend!  Yesterday was a special day but it took all the "Get-up-and-go" out of my entire body!  Even my toes and my nose were tired last night.  There were 12 here for the potpie supper and it was great.  Christy stayed in the morning and afternoon and in between weeding and planting, she helped with dinner prep.  We had all the stuff lined up for salads so they could help themselves as they arrived and the potpie was on the stove with plates sitting on the counter beside it so they could help themselves when they were ready.  It went pretty smoothly and they hung around and socialized for a couple hours after.  They were all gone by 8 or so and the kitchen was cleaned up.

I collapsed on the couch until Cindy and Christy came home and then I went to bed.  I wasn't all in but my shoestrings.  My shoestrings were so far in, I couldn't even find them.  But I loved every minute of it!

JENNY, glad to hear the good news about your arm and I'll wait for good news about the other one!  Michele and her family are still in my prayers!  She's not just a trooper herself!  She's raised a family of troopers!

AMY, you ande Kyle will soon be known as AMY AND KYLE TRUG!

PHYLLIS, just in case I didn't say it before....HOORAY about the foot!  Good luck with the treatment!

I have to answer the BOINGER!  It's Mickie's breakfast time.  I think I'm going to eat leftover pecan pie for my breakfast!  Someone has to eat it!  It's too good to waste!

I wish you all a good day....better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Amy, I'm here, same old song and dance with our weather and otherwise, but I'm enjoying everyone's doings, errands, and stories. I'm also hoping, along with everyone, for Michele, Jenny, and Phyllis. I'm hoping Lloyd has better luck with the lawyer and enjoying reading about Shirley's trug gardening.

Our local grizzly and brown bears start leaving their dens in late March or early April, black bears a bit later in early May. "According to Tony Hollis, Fairbanks Area Biologist for Wildlife Conservation for Fish & Game, right now is the prime time for grizzly bears to begin waking up. Hollis explained, "This is the time of year that they start coming out.

The brown bears come out; first, grizzly bears, usually mid to late April, emerge from the den. Black bears generally come out a little bit later, usually starting in May. But this is definitely the time of year where they come out of the den and start roaming around. They'll start looking for food not long after they come out of the den. They can travel around quite a bit looking for food, so anything they can eat this time of year is a bonus for them."'

Patricia, we were surprised to see this bear. He wintered well, beautiful thick coat on him. I know they are out at the dumps  as they leave a calling card behind. Also watched for Osprey but all the known nests were empty, too early I guess for them.

While we have seen some animals around the areas where the different rivers bisect the city, the majority of animals are in the suburbs, so I rarely see them anymore. Male bears show up first in the spring followed by females without young. Finally by bears with cubs, in early May.

When I was able to visit the sanctuary, it was fairly common to glimpse bears or lynx in the far reaches after eight pm and in the very early mornings. The sanctuary is partially within the city limits and has two public areas out of a larger private acreage. I miss going there.

On April 17, 2021, a Sandhill Crane landed amid Canada geese and one White-fronted Goose at Creamer's Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge along College Road, per the local newspaper, so it's started.

Lloyd:  So sad your ex friend turned out to be greedy.  I am glad you have a place (here) to tell your story.

Jenny:  Prayers for your DIL and all the family.

We had a racoon problem last year and now there is another critter in the attic.  Sometimes it just rains costly problems.

Otherwise, we have gone through the winter OK - and will be nice to sit on the deck now and then,  Twice, there have been deer in the ravine so that is always a treat.

Best to all who have health issues or have relatives with same problems.

Good morning

Calling for rain this morning..would like to finish off spreading the mulch but will see. Know enough to just take it one day at a time anymore. Need to do some banking in town
now you have to make an appointment just to get in the door!
Then home to wait on the phone tech, after talking with 4 on the phone yesterday they are finally sending a repair man out!

Carol, nice to see your post.Watching deer is always a treat.

Lloyd, worry won't help you and know it is difficult not to worry but you are only hurting you by doing so. Please take care and you will get through this difficult time.

Patricia, it is a welcome sight when all the animals come back to the area....yes even the skunks.

Jane, are you rested up yet?

Phyllis, Joy, Jenny, Shirley ,Sandy  and Callie hope you  enjoy your day.

Need to get ready to meet the day.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

I loved having my family together this weekend.  After all the separation because of the pandemic, it was nice just to wathch them interacting with one another.  If I didn't do anything elso good in my life, I can say, I'll be leaving a family that loves one another!  And that makes me happy!

CAROL, how nice to see your post.  I have been sitting out on the deck the last couple of days hoping you might drive by and we could wave!  Sorry the critters are not n your attic again....Gurr!  We have captured some good videos of a heard of deer in our front yard, recently.  They are such a delight to see!  Also a bobcat here and there.

JANE, I can totally relate to the joy of being together with our families and watch he love of them all mingling in together!  That is a blessed gift in itself🥰  Enjoy your ongoing celebration tonight with the rest not the family.

PATRICIA, LOVED reading details about the bears returning.  And other wild life of course!

JACKIE, nothing but sadness when I think about how things are today and the way they used to be......we pretty much trusted in everyone unless they proved they could not be trusted. I miss that comfortable and friendly feeling.

Michele got the chest tube drain taken out of her lung yesterday....she was in awful pain from it.  Today is her last brain radiation treatment.  Please Lord, let her get strong enough to go home to her family🙏🙏

I had my first PT session and it went wonderful.  We both liked the nurse a LOT.  I will see her twice a week for four weeks until I see the surgeon again.  I have really been exercising a lot the last few days and even though I am extremely sore I am showing great improvement of strength!  I am happy and proud of myself.

I wish you all a good day.

Jenny

Post by: Shirley on April 27, 2021, 02:44:15 PM
Congratulations on the recovery, Jenny. So glad you have a PT'st that is caring. I meant to tell you that I had a drain in my lung for months (from what I heard). Had pneumonia, whooping cough & measles all together when I was 2. I do remember the doctor stopping by on his way to the hospital, to check the drain & think about the last time I got caught up in the tree out front.  :-[  Mother said later that one of the neighbors told her "she was happy to see me out turning cartwheels again" but drain was still in. I still have the scar from that drain & it still is attached to my lung so it "pulls" any time I gain a few pounds. I know Michele's is a lot different but she has my sympathy for all she goes through & not trying to make lite of it.

Lloyd, you & Nancy also have my sympathy, for sure it is upsetting to be PUSHED by anyone. Take it one day at a time and if you don't mind an old friend "preaching" there is a Serenity Prayer that I say at least half a dozen times a day (I have a copy of it inside my Kindle cover, was sent to me when Cas died nearly 8 years ago). God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference. It isn't easy to feel you have been cheated but all this stress makes the "crime" twice as bad for your & Nancy's health. Maybe it really is time for the 2 of you to get a nice place in town & enjoy the years going fishing and "chilling". You might even have time to enjoy the "toys" you have, maybe you & Nancy will a trug garden in town. Start planning for a little fun in the days ahead! I didn't know what was ahead when Cas died and to be honest, it has been a super nice 8 years because I do believe in that little prayer. Take care.... wishing happiness for you both.

And now I need to head to the store. Sounds like we may get some nasty weather later tonight. I really don't want to think about hail or hard rain that will tear up my garden! I will send a couple new photos (taken this morning) to Bubble, to show how the lettuce is growing. Not quite ready to eat BUT.. and I will figure a way to shelter the trug, just in case.

SHIRLEY, you and I are now the same age!  So if I'm 100 so are you!

LLOYD, I agree with everyone else. Take life as it comes and go on with it.  Maybe it is time for you and Nancy to find a nice place in town with a yard big enough to grow some goodies and not too big to have to work hard at it.  I know you're used to the country and I was too when I finally sold the house where I raised my kids and entertained my friends and family.  This huse is a lot smaller and it took some time to adjust but I'm happy here!  You'll find your niche!

JENNY, it sounds like you're on the road to recovery!  I'm glad to hear you're doing well andI continue to pray for Michele.  She's a winner!

Thanks for all the balloons and flowers and for the good wishes!  I've made some good friends on these forums!  You're a special bunch!

I think I'll let the doggies out and take a short snooze.  I'm beginning to droop a bit and I don't want to fall asleep over dinner!

See, Jenny, I told you the PhysTherapist would do right by you!  And good on you for seeing it through and enjoying it.  Happy Recovery to you.    Also, prayers and good wishes for Michelle. She has a beautiful cheerleading team here on SodaShoppe.

Patricia, thanks to you for the "wild life report" and all the wonderful recipes you post over in what's for dinner, and also the photoshop board.  You, too, Bubble! I enjoy looking at those.

Lloyd & Nancy, bless your hearts.  It seems like you ought to be able to "appeal" the judge's decision on your property.

Shirley, as big as your place is, there ought to be some place where you can put your trug to keep those wild Kansas winds and storms from damaging it and the plants therein!

Jackie loved the picture of that flower arrangement you posted for jane's birthday.

Good morning everyone, Jane give Mickie another cuddle for me today.

Cool this morning at 28 degrees, and we're expecting snow on Friday, from a coating to an inch! I don't know what is happening this year, but after reading about La Nina, I  expect anything goes!

I will attempt another trip out later today; wish me luck as I haven't gotten one in yet.  :(

Think POSITIVE, Patricia, you can do it!  I find it harder all the time to do anything without a struggle but know from watching my father, we can't let up. I am sure the muscles around all my joints are lazy & that's why the joints hurt. For sure a tad stronger since the fish are back & I go down that hill every day. Hang in, you used to walk so much you made us all look lazy.

Thanks for the comments about my garden. I would never have known what a trug was if not for our Amy, so see what a great place this is??? Never too old to learn. I feel like a kid when looking at the lettuce growing... "is it ready yet?" Thanks to Bubble for posting!

Happy Birthday to Mickie... haha, I hear the M I C K E Y Mouse Club song every time, Jane! The dog I got for my 6th birthday was named Mickey because my folks were totally fond of Mickey since Walt Disney grew up in a little town down near where they lived. I got a clock, my sister got a watch one Christmas with Mickey's hands pointing to the time. My sister had a blue glass with Mickey's face in white.... BUT, Jane, I love the idea that your Mickie is the girl spelling, isn't that right?

And now I better get a move on, it's past lunch time & I have nothing to show for my day. My youngest son had cataract surgery this morning (2nd eye). I don't like his doctor, he opted for the whole implant so he doesn't need glasses & that's more/different than mine was. He said the laser was painful so you know how it is, we walk the floor until we hear everything is okay. Doesn't matter that he is pushing 60 (born in May of '63).

Time to hit the haystack!  I've tried to complete my "nothing" today but I kept getting dragged away from it so I'll have try to finish it tomorrow!

AMY, Mickie got lots of specials today, she took a car ride with me, we went for two extra walks, she had some goodie snacks and even a little piece of birthday cake.  Also lots of hugs and smooches!

Yes, SHIRLEY, I always think of her name spelling as the "girl" version!  She's such a sweetheart that it's easy to love her!

I passed on all the good wishes from her friends on S&F.  Thank you very much!

Now I'm off to bury myself in the haystack but I have to close the windows first.  We're supposed to get some rain tonight and tomorrow.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy Spring day tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Today wood..more wood till this pile is done. Last night the loons were calling across the lakes. Enjoy their echoing songs .

Shirley our front yard in peppered with trugs at the moment.8 of them but 5 are to be picked up by their new owners.

Patricia, how was your trip? Did you manage to get all that you wanted done.

Jane, I bet Mickie gets the royal treatment each and every day. I know these dogs do.

Callie are you alright?? Saw where a tornado went through OK on the news last night.

Better get a hitch in my get along..

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning everyone, yes I am still ar ound but not here at the PC  too long anymore. We did something different yesterday. A beautiful spring day so went out for a walk, felt wonderful-but by the time we got back to the door to come inside my legs started getting wobbly. Yvette is so good she noticed how I was walking so she got the pain cream I have and gave me a back massage and did my legs, too.

JANE  I know how tired y ou will be when your family leave but hos wonderful it is to have them there with y ou. I remember how big my apartment was when my hatghter, SIL and 2 grandsons left after a visit. I wish t hey could all be here for a visit  again.
Happy Belated Birthday

PHYLLIS  looks like both of us will have to live wi th pain. No t nice but at least we are still alive.

AMY  getting so I don't have to tell Yvette what I want or need. She has made the days  she is here she knows what needs to be be done. Tuesday is grocery day, yesterday laundry and tomorrow is housework. Oh boy I had to copy your doing nothing because you started yesterday. I will have  to send that to Yvette.

SHIRLEY  must have heard you because here I am this morning.

AMY  nice when people say you look younger you are. I get that at times, I do not have a lot of wrinkles on my face and tha t must be the reason.

LLOYD  I always wanted a greenhouse but have stopped wanting one. Impossible where I live now.

PATRICIA  I am lost on weekends without Yvette but am thankful she is here 5 days. Unusual for the company she works for lets her come for 5 days a week.

JENNY  No one is as happy as me  to hae Yvette here 5 days. Usually on gets the same CNA 2 or 3 days. I get 13 hours a week of her help.

Time for me to get out of this chair and lay on the couchfor at least 30 minutes.

Have a good day and stay safe.

Good morning everyone, it's 33 here now with a high expected in the late fifties. The snow is still expected on Friday, which is unfortunate as it's basically melted now. May temperatures are not expected to be more than what we have now.

I wasn't able to get out yesterday. I keep thinking I will, but it doesn't happen. When I attempt too much, my leg lets me know. It isn't as painful as it was, and it is improving. I just expected more.

Good Morning,

Amy, tornado was halfway between me and the Texas border! Thank you for your concern.

Bigger news story this morning is the hail storm that hit Norman last night.  Main target was an area known as Automobile Alley because it's a mile long stretch of used car lots.  Millions of dollars damage to windshields there - plus very heavy damage to blown out windows in business buildings/residences within several miles of there. News showed a customer-made video of baseball size hail stones "raining" down on the floor of a Walmart due to skylights being broken.

If OKC were a clock face, Norman would be south of 6:30.  I live "north of noon" so, although we had had steady rain for a couple of days, we did not get the wind or hail...at least, not yet.  Oklahoma storm season is not over.

All is well in my little corner of the world.

Callie, after I read your post, I went and looked for news reports. we have had hail covering the yard like snow, a couple of times, but never anything that destructive!

Amy, when we spent a year in Kentucky with my ex's family, I piled wood several times, (always on the lookout for snakes), and put up food in the root cellar. That was an interesting time up in the hollers!

I had purchased a 4T external online and have spent the day organizing and tossing.

I'm heading for the haystack in a few minutes.  It's been a tiring day and I can't figure out why!  I just kept "movin' along".

Callie, I was very interested in the locations of your storms and I relaxed when you gave such good directions as to where they were.  Since I now have 6 family members in two houses in the Tulsa area, I take special interest in where the storms are.  Thank you for the specifics!

Gloria, so nice to see you and yes, you are so lucky to have Yvette!  It sounds like she's a winner all around!

AMY, I think that Bank Teller was just a bit lazy for not wanting to pile wood.  It would have given her a good chance for some fresh air and good company!

I think my eyes have entered slamshut mode so I better get to bed while I can still pry them open to see where I'm going before they slam shut again!  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy Spring day tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

I had one of my super long posts just about ready to post when a friend called, we talked about an hour & the computer went to sleep....and the post got lost in the shuffle. Been lucky lately & not lost any for a while so was just typing in the post box & not on Word Pad... my own fault.

Callie, I have not heard news today, you'd think just ONCE all day I'd be in front of TV at the right time, but.... sorry about the hail. We've had our share over the years, so many years. One year not long after we moved to this house hail hit just this corner of town. Was so bad it totally pulverized the flowers along the sidewalk as well as everything else around. I was standing in the street talking to neighbors when a car came driving slowly by, the side mirrors were dangling by the wires, all windows were shattered so completely the lady driving could barely see out and dents one on top of the other to the point even the driver gave a chuckle at the sight. She stopped to visit with us & said she was at the grocery store & had to just wait till it was over.

Gloria, was upper 70s today & starting to feel like summer... care to whine with me? I will admit that the heat isn't bothering as much as 20 years ago.

Amy, before I uncovered the trug this morning I noticed a little patch (maybe 1-2") of tiny toadstools or mushrooms, pretty, kind of lacy. Planned to take pics when I uncovered a little later but they had disappeared! All looks good. I Googled to make sure how to get the suckers off, I remembered Dad doing it but wasn't positive how/when.

My brain has gone to bed so I'd better post & shut up. Sweet dreams & God Bless...love y'all.
Shirley

Good morning..

Rained most of the night and is still sprinkling. Today is back to the lumber yard ,then home to work. Kyle is making a cover for one of the trugs for a man. Another man stopped in and may order one for his 89 yr old Mom seems they wouldn't let her garden last year and heard about it all winter.. :2funny:

Gloria, it is so good to see your posts and read that you are doing well. Yvette is a God send to you.

Callie, good to read you did not get the tornado or any damage from the hail. Can't imagine all the damage on the cars from the hail!

Patricia ,I don't mind the snakes, not that we have many here but sure hate the spiders.

Jane, not much wood to pile from the load and if it stops raining it will be done today. All my muscles are talking back to me including my eye lash muscles!!

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  Cooper spent the night with us.  Frankie was just plain too tired to come get him when she finished work at 10.  He made himself at home and slept wherever he felt like it.  He started out on the little rug in the bathroom, moved to the bed where his "mother" sleeps when she's here and ended up on the recliner in the living room!

We've all had breakfast and the doggies had their walks and now we're in "relax" mode.

SHIRLEY, that must have been some storm and that lady was brave to drive that badly damaged car!

AMY, Christy managed some yard clean up in the garden area of my yard and said she'd be back on Mother's day to do some planting.  We're going to put in some tomato plants, a pepper bush and whatever else Christy decides I need.

I need to go get some housework done today.  The floors in particular need some attention.  I hope you all have a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Sorry I haven't been here for a few days.  No real excuse...just laziness, I think.  All is well.  I finally received the compression stockings that the vascular doctor said I need to wear.  I ordered them on-line because all of the ones that I saw in the local stores were so ugly.  If I HAVE to wear the darned things they might as well be attractive (!), if possible.  Anyway, they finally arrived and after learning the tricks of putting them on they actually do help my feet and legs feel better.

It's been hot here the last couple of days and it's getting very dry.  We had a fire warning yesterday because it has been several days since we've had any rain and it's been very windy.  They are asking people to not do any outdoor burning.  It is so easy to start a forest fire around here when it is this dry.

That is about as exciting as it has been so I'll just say I'll talk to you all again soon.

Good morning from a chilly Interior at 24 degrees with an expected high of 35. We didn't get the inch of snow they had on the ridges or lower foothills. However, we did get a dusting on the yards and not on the streets. Our light is back, it only starts to get dark at ten PM, and even that isn't a full dark. By mid-June and the summer solstice, we'll be back to 24/7 daylight. Then we start losing that light minute by minute until the winter solstice.

Callie, that four-inch hail caused 3.5 billion dollars worth of damage, I learned yesterday. I can not even imagine a storm like that, and the pictures shown reminded me of a war zone. I am so sorry!

Amy, I'm no expert on the South or government policies, but my ex's family has been on that small plot of land since Daniel Boone's days, they told me. And they have on-site, a small family graveyard with dates reaching that far back. I mention this because on their property, they are only allowed to harvest trees that have fallen.

Now, this was in the early seventies, that they would take a mule, go out with a chain saw, cut the fallen trees into manageable pieces, attached those pieces one at a time to the mule who would then drag them back to the houses. That's where they would be cut further for the three-family homes on the property. While this was being done, the women would be harvesting and putting by the crops. After the family harvested the food, the food was cooked in large kettles and cooled to be placed in sealed jars in the root cellars under the homes and with the root crops.

The three homes were his paternal grandmother's home where we stayed, a little further down the hill was his parents and his grandmother and across a road was his brother and family. Further down that country road lived Aunts, Uncles, and cousins of their extended family in their own hollers. This was about eighty miles north of Knoxville, Tennesee.

Jane, you must be looking forward to gardening with Christy! I remember the photos you showed from an earlier time. I used to garden on porches and balconies of past apartments, but here my balcony faces northwest and is recessed about four feet. Only shade crops will grow there. there are small available plots in front for tenents who bid early for one. However, sometimes those crops get up and walk away on their own.

I should have gone to bed a couple of hours ago when my body told me it was time!  Not only have my eyes entered the slamshut stage but my body had gone into "Igiveup" stage!  I think I overdid the cleaning and moving furniture today and it's telling me "enough is enough".  I'm off to the haystack.

AMY and PATRICIA...please keep your snow up there.  We had cooler weather today made cold by high winds that didn't give up.  I hope tomorrow is more Springlike, everywhere.  Right now...I give up!  Good night!
