Turn Turn Turn
(Pete Seeger)

To everything turn turn turn there is a season turn turn turn
And a time to every purpose under heaven
A time to be born a time to die, a time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal, a time to laugh, a time to weep

To everything turn turn turn there is a season turn turn turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven
A time to build up a time to break down, a time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together

To everything turn turn turn there is a season turn turn turn
And a time to every purpose under heaven
A time of love, a time of hate, a time of war a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing

To everything turn turn turn there is a season turn turn turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven
A time to gain, a time to lose, a time to rend, a time to sew
A time of love, a time of hate, a time of peace, I swear it's not too late

To everything turn turn turn there is a season turn turn turn
And a time to every purpose under heaven
To everything turn turn turn there is a season turn turn turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

The fly

There I was relaxing, resting my arms above my head,
When I heard this annoying buzzing noise circling the bed.
So I slowly turned, raised my head, and opened one eye,
And sure enough there it was, this most enormous fly.

The damn thing followed me down stairs, and as our lunch we ate,
He took a fancy to what I'd got and kept landing on my plate.
We both kept shooing him away, while from plate to plate he flits.
But all he did was Bzz at us, and made us feel like twits.

His Bzzzing became much louder, as if he was taunting us,
You could almost hear him laughing, as he went from Bzzz to buzz.
Then suddenly, deathly silence ! , it's gone as quiet as a ghost,
It seems our resident spider, has got that fly for his Sunday roast.

Richard

Jane, that is not the news anyone wants to hear! First thing that jumped out at me was a  minute ...not a lot of cells and I too  am praying that they got them all.  I know how you are feeling right now, that kind of news is devastating  and to say to you not to worry is not going to happen .Your a fighter ,plus you will be surrounded with prayers so wait till you hear for sure what you are up against then you can worry or not. Praying for good news .

Bubble ,forgot to say thank you for the new start. Loved the poem about the fly! In perfect union beautiful music is played when handled right..

Good morning..

Chilly this morning but not a cold as what Patricia would be ,we are at 37° and have a fire on.

Time to pull all the flowers and the rest of the flower urns put away for another year. This should take up most of the day, have a pot of chicken soup made so lunch that will be. Will worry about supper later.

Patricia, enjoy your day .

Jane, prayers as always also for Bridget that she keeps on getting stronger and stronger each day.

Gloria, the wood fire feels good and all to soon we will have it on all day. I don't know how Jesse knows winter is coming but he now brings a stick of wood in each night!! He was not trained to do this, just does.

Better get a wiggle on..

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good moening everyone,  Happy October. The heat is on and it is 41 now but starting to warm up in here. Did not see any frost on the cars though. Mus t sat the hea t feels good this morning. They go t half the parking lot  done yes terday bu t now need  to paint  the lines on it and do the second half. My CNA had a  time finding a place to park yesterday. Lot  of new people and most  have cars so no t many places for visi tors  to park and I know some CNAs call the office and tell  they they can find no place  to park and cannot get in here.

Mike came yesterday with a bag of tomatoes. I did give some  to Fran-CNA and she was surprised I shared them with her.  Tere were more than I could ea t and not going through the work  to freeze them.

This place in the lobby has been decorated for Haloween for 3 weeks already, already tired of seeing it. Today is t he day  we get out flu shots here in the community  room. T his is also the day tha t all heal th care workers who did not  bet the covid sho ts are no longer working-all fired for not getting the shots. Nu rses in hospitals who worked through the firs t bad out break and now told not to return to work unless they ge t the vacines and they do not  want  them and have no choice.

JANE  my prayers being said for you as soon as I read your post form last night. I had a similar  thing happen to me when I was 33 but every thing went  good and here I still am at 90. God watch over you.

BUBBLE  great graphics again and I no tice one from Phyllis again. From habit I check watermarks/names. Had a with The Fly, good ending.  Thanks for  today's goodies.

AMY  i t does no good to worry because we cannot change anything but God can.

JACKIE  sorry your nurse appoint ment was cancelled. Glad I s till ge t a CNA here, too many  things I cannot do anymore.

Have a good day and be safe.

Well lost that post so will try again. I'm in MO today for a class luncheon. Was not sure I'd get here because everything that could go wrong did. Got me a new iPad Pro & on daughter's "mobile" system (however that works). I can text & do this but not talk, had hoped it would replace cell phone since this has a regular key pad~~

Jane, I'm stunned with your news and while will pray they got it all after all tests are done, maybe do like me and ignore the truth & believe our bodies will heal it's self if we give it a chance. My theory is that my body heals faster as long as I stay happy, get enough sleep & food and again, think happy & be tough. My prayers are with you and you gotta know, heart & stomach in my throat at the moment.

Lloyd, tell Nancy that I said, "if I can manage getting around in here I'm sure she will have no trouble". I'm sure we will all enjoy her views on the crazy talk we do in here~~

I already lost the first message so better shut up & post. I'll be home either later today or tomorrow, for sure. It is less than 300 miles but that wind yesterday & the rain made it a rough drive. Cracked a rib the night before so driving is a little bit of a pain but not nearly as painful as climbing onto that king size bed with the extra memory foam on top... and having 2 cats scrunched up beside me when I try to turn over. You know how ribs do, hurts worse today than the day I did it but know this lasts for 6 weeks. I'm tired of it already. Something else to whine about. ::)

Uh Oh.... Just realize I don't know how to do the bigger & color on the iPad. I will experiment later, posting as it for now!

Not sure I should try to follow Shirley  ;D  but wanted to say  :hello:  to the nice new page that Bubble has given us.

Shirley "sent" the pouring rain to me yesterday morning - just as Son and I were leaving for my medical appointment. Fortunately, it had slowed to a sprinkle by the time we left the doctor's office so we stopped to pick up lunch and come back.
Then he rehung pictures that he had taken down before the new roof work and put objects back on the shelf over the kitchen cabinets.  He didn't do the greenery around them - saying he'd leave that to "the girls".  So now I need to find a time that Miss Emily and her Mom can come over to help.  Emily is tall enough to reach the area by standing on a step stool. Her Mom and I are not but we can supervise.  (I suspect her Dad would prefer we NOT supervise him  ;) )

Jane, prayers and good thoughts for encouraging news about your situation - and also for Bridget's continuing recovery.

I had finally put out my Fall decor  (such as it is) and now need to switch the September scarecrows for the October witches and ghosts.  Also need to catch up on laundry.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Good morning from an Interior at a cool 29 degrees at 9:33 AM. I've been busy with fall paperwork, most routine yearly busywork. Insurance, a possible rent increase, and some political info for the election here on the fifth, among others.

Jane, I was glad to hear of Bridget's good news but saddened to hear of your bad news. Cancer seems to be a given for all of us anymore, but it sounds as if they were in time and were able to eradicate it. I'm staying positive for you. Amy said it better than I could in her post.

Gloria, I don't know why they waited so late to do outside repairs in our complexes. Perhaps having to deal with the hired companys' previous schedules? I suppose we have to grit our teeth and deal with it.

My church community nurse has made her next home visiting appointment for same time, same day, next week....

Ha ha SHIRLEY yes you are getting smarter....so that is happy dog keeping calm whilst singing and clapping, clever dog.....

One of my favorite songs coming from the back bedroom occupied by my oldest daughter when she was a young teenager.

Hello Everyfriend and thanks for the words of confidence.  They helped!  It's nice to know when you have "backup".  I've decided not to dwell on the thoughts and to wait for the final outcome.  It doesn't hurt any more except when I yawn so I'll just ignore it for now.  I do appreciated the prayers.

I'm off to the haystack now.  Frankie is spending the night and she's not ready to conk out so I'll leave her to her own devices.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Good morning...

We had a rain overnight..sure...I wash the van and on comes the rain!

Friends stopping by to pick up two angel wing plants, one for them and one for the granddaughter that they are going to see today.

Household chores (do they ever stop?) Laundry, hope it can be hung out later.

Jane and Phyllis, I did honey garlic  sausages in the air fryer last night, this will be the way to do them from now on. They were delicious!

Patricia, love the song and now I am listening to the rest of songs......along with the sounds of geese honking outside! We will likely get snow this month as we have in the past.

Shirley, hope the rib is a bit better. Takes a while for it to heal ,every move hurts and coughing or sneezing is murder!!

Lloyd, good morning to you. Enjoy your day and say hello to Nancy please.

Best get a move on.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

I'm up and attem and a quick trip to Davy's was on the early agenda this morning but the weather had other plans.  We had dense fog when I got up.  It's lightened a bit but it's supposed to stick around until the sun plows through around 1.  I think I'm going to give it a go anyway.  I can take the back road and there's not much traffic on that road on Saturday.

AMY, I hope you don't find out soon when the housework and laundry ends because....well you know when that will be!

I hope you all have a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.

I think it must be cold out there.  My furnace just came on and it's set for 68 degrees.

AMY, some years ago, my daughter Christy said, "I keep hoping that you'll win the lottery some day".  I answered, "That would be nice but don't you have to buy a ticket to do that?  I've never in my life bought a lottery ticket!"  She admitted that a ticket would be necessary.  That year, for Christmas, I got about 6 lottery tickets.  2 of them hit for $2. each and one of them hit for $500.  I was in a state of shock!

Gotta get this day going.  Frankie is still sleeping and I'm getting hungry for lunch!  Continue in you groove, Everyone!

Jane, wow  that was a good win for sure!!  We just had a tomato sandwich for lunch . I am sure going to miss the tasty tomatoes we are getting now as opposed to the hard rocks we get in the winter time.  Posted a couple of recipes in Whats for Dinner and think I am going to try the  potato and sausage soup. Sounds like a good rib sticker in this cold weather.

Good morning from a white Interior at 28 degrees. Amy, you're ready for lunch, and it's eight here and I'm on my first cup of coffee. Remember the early October 2020 snowfall when I fell and lost my glasses? Well,

..WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM AKDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Snow occurring. Plan on difficult travel conditions. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches, with localized amounts up to 8 inches, are expected.

* WHERE...Middle Tanana Valley.

* WHEN...Until 1 PM Sunday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Look for reduced visibilities at times. Heaviest snowfall will be southeast of Fairbanks.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

Gloria, I cannot foresee having everything piled in a corner of my apartment, six feet away from windows and doors, until next spring! I want this finished!

Shirley, 2021 has not been a good year for us here in S&F has it? I hope you're doing well today!

I'm home & so tired it's hard to breathe... okay, I exaggerate.... just a little. Got most of the stuff into the house but lots to do tomorrow to clean it up. Too tired to eat but cats are looking in the door for their meal. First time EVER that neither one threw up, they were so good I look forward to another trip before snow & ice. Maybe when the trees in MO start changing color.

Gotta take my shower & get clothes out for church in the morning. Was really shocked only 14 at the luncheon & 13 stayed to eat. One of the guys just stopped by to say hello, his wife had a stroke this year & he's been fighting cancer treatments. More are still living but mostly out of state & don't travel anymore. I did get one night in a campground, have to show you when I figure how to get this one photo through the window of the RV off the new iPad. Don't know why I keep buying new toys when the just don't send the "smarts" that go with smart toys! The rib hurts worse than the others I've had, all I did this time was bend over too far & pushed it harder than it liked, gonna remind me for 6 weeks.

I bought a lottery ticket one time in MO & got $5 so put the $5 back on more & a couple had money (nothing bigger than $5 or $10, but the others were the kind that goes on for the big lottery. Dumb me, since I lived in KS I didn't think I could go for the big money so gave the tickets to the sack boy at that grocery store. Never heard that anyone from that little town made it big so don't fret about being so dumb. Have not bought a ticket since.

Gotta go feed Tom, he is staring in the door. Mama Callie hasn't shown up. She did manage to sneak into the garage before I left, I even used the leaf blower to make sure she was out. Andy came by the next day to check & sure nuff, she came trotting out & tried to sneak back in before he could close the door. Haha, think she is mad because usually she is right here withing 5 min after the motorhome shows up in the driveway. Tiger is waiting for her out front, she thinks she is a big girl when she's out front.

Sounds like y'all have been playing nice while I've been gone. I would still love to visit Alaska, Patricia, old dreams die hard. But my dream is to "mosey" around, no tour for me.  Ah, Tom is going to leave home if I don't offer him food!

A good Saturday HELLO to EVERYFRIEND 🍁🍂 So nice to see so many newsy posts.

Thursday we had our yearly physicals.  Everything went great, but the doc ALWAYS wants me to go see this doc for this and another for that.  Truth is......I am DOCTORED out for now!  We both got our flu shots and will continue to stay tuned if and when the Moderna booster will be offered.

Yesterday I saw my Endocrinologist.  I thought he might be upset with me over my A1C but he was not.  He was pleased with my slow but sure weight loss and said my higher bloodsugars are due to my extreme pain and stress🥰🥰

JANE, pleased to read that Bridget is home and doing better, however not good to read about the news from your procedure.  I will be praying for you both.

PATRICIA, no repeat for you of last October's fall.  😩🤪. It is just not right that the6 expect you to be in turmoil with things pulled away from the walls, etc.  They need to be honest and have the people that they are actually working on do this.  I knew your patio area was going to be slippery when w3t when I saw the sheen on it.

Seems I accidentally erased the rest of my post....

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Shirley, we had three inches of snow on Friday, and it started at two PM yesterday and is still snowing. Snow's expected until Sunday afternoon, which has an 80% chance of snow.

Jenny, the leaves were still turning and are still on the branches and not the ground!

Shirley, you could mosey around in certain areas, but you need a current map and info. Bears, lynx, wolves, moose, and other animals roam freely, and it is their land. If you go to any of the parks, you can only go a few miles by car. Otherwise, it would be best if you had a required shuttle bus. We have several hot springs, but only one is civilized; the rest are rustic and need permission to access.

There are world-class mountains within one hundred miles from here, and you don't want to get lost. It's generally frowned upon by those doing the rescuing. The guy who starved to death on the bus wasn't far from here. In short, this area is wilderness and there is no statewide road system. It keeps getting voted down.

There are multiple tours, and that includes both helicopter and small plane tours.

Hey Everyfriend!  I'm about to head for the haystack but I needed to check in here first and see what Everyfriend has been up to today.

PATRICIA and SHIRLEY, Alaska is the only state in the Union that I haven't visited and I've been dying to see it.  But I would definitely want to be shown around.  I'd want to take a very good tour and see as much as I could in whatever time was available.  But I think that's a lost fantasy at this time in my life.  Therefore, I hang on every word that PATRICIA posts about her unique state.  Sometimes, what you say is so vivid, I can almost feel like I'm there!

Frankie was here today and she spent the afternoon cleaning for me.  She really is good at that.  Everything she cleaned looks so good when she finishes.  And she's coming back tomorrow to finish up.  I try to pay her but she won't take anything so I have to be devious.

I went out in the fog this morning and I had my headlights on for the first time in (probably) years and I forgot to turn them off.  Now I have a car sitting out there with a dead battery.  I called my son and he's coming over tomorrow to get it started and then I'll have to drive around a bit to get it fully charged.  I knew when I turned the lights on, I'd forget to turn them off.  I'm such and air head!  But one good thing came of it.  When my son called to see what I needed, he invited me to dinner at his house tomorrow.  What could be better than that?

Gotta go!  My eyes are trying to enter slam shut mode and I'm tired too.  Among other things, Cooper and I had 3 long walks today.  If I measured correctly a while back our long walks are somewhere between a quarter and a half mile.  We both need that!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Good morning  everyone. Went to bed early last night, could not keep my eyes open and as a result here I an at  4:15  am, will need a nap before the day is over.  54 now but will be in the 70's later this afternoon. Now that the heat is on I have it set at 65 and it was running when I got up yesterday and in the afternoon I had the AC on, it was up to 85 in here with the sun hitting this side of the building, I had the shades down, too. Crazy at this time of year.

JANE  years ago I used to play the lottery when it had a big payout and never got as much as a free ticket so quit.

AMY  like you I will miss those tomato sandwicches when the native tomatoes are gone for another year. In the winter when I get a longing for a tomato I have the CNA get me one tomato on the vine as long as they are not too ripe and soft.

PATRICIA  we don't have balconies here and only 2 windows. I do wish they would put in new ones that are easier to raise and lower. I only have strength to raise them about 3 inches, others who are still strong can raise theirs all the way up.

SHIRLEY  glad you made it safely home. I don't know how you could do anything with a cracked rib. I never had that but at times when I had a bad cold with coughing too much my ribs hurt and I could not do much of anything. Yes I did stay home when I had a cold like that.

JENNY  great your yearly check ups went good. By now y ou must be tired of doc tors and having to go to different ones. How I would love to find one of those old time family doctors that took care of everything.

JANE  I always wanted  to visit Hawaii but that was a pipe dream. I always wanted to travel the 48 states. My trveling of our beaut iful country has been done at the computer. If my daughter had not moved to California I never would have flown out there on my vacation every year. Now I am worn out just going to my son's or my grandson's for a holiday dinner. Going to the doct or wears me out even more.

Since no one else is here maybe I will go back  to bed and hope I can ca tch a few more of those ZZZZ's I lost there.

Hello to all who show up later.
Have a good day and stay safe.

Good morning

Another overcast day ,temp is 59° at the moment.

A day of rest here...may end up getting the last 3 rows done on that quilt and binding sewn on.

Friends dropped off summer sausage and 2 acorn squash that they picked up at a  Mennonite market yesterday so there is part of lunch and part of supper.

Jane, can I borrow  Frankie???  She sounds like a cleaning dyno and I am so glad she is there to help you. Got your email and will put that in.

Gloria, the macs I bought are pink inside!! Kyle is now working on ones that I got on Fri buy one get one....so far no pink inside.

Patricia, is it still snowing there? If the rain had of been snow yesterday we would be digging our way out this morning. Rained so hard at times it put the satellite dish out. Areas that had a flood warning last bout of rain will be under a new watch I would think.

Shirley, glad you are home same and well almost sound. Cracked ribs are not nice so just take it easy if you can. Way to go on the cats not up chucking..they must have known bending over and having to clean up would hurt your ribs.

Jenny, its bad enough to deal with covid but you have health issues also. At least you have a good team of Drs and they seem pleased at how you are doing..

Lloyd, tell Nancy we are looking for her to say hello.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend.  My son said that he'd be back after he did his morning run at a place called "Dale's Ridge".  It's a trail that goes along a ridge in the base of the mountains between Williamsport and here.  It's on our side of the mountain.  They have an Alaskan Malemute that goes along with him and gets to run free.  Nice.

But I didn't know how early he goes.  He just left here and my car is running!  I have to take a little drive in about 10 minutes and make sure it keeps running.

I hope Everyfriend is feeling better and can enjoy this day.  I wish you all WELL!

We're supposed to get showers off and on all day today and most of the coming week!  I think we already had one of them because I saw some raindrops on the car when I was out there with my son.  I'm not looking forward to a week of rainy days!

I hope you all have a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

I was so messed up this morning, thought it was Monday and could not figure out why the  things I watch on TV in the mornings were not on the TV. Fianally pulled out my cell phone and saw it was Sunday.

I just got this in an email and have to share it with my cyber family. Hope you like it and have chuckles like I did.

Good morning from the Interior at 32 degrees this morning at 8 AM! Yes, it's still snowing, but it rained late yesterday afternoon and during the night before returning to snow. So, conditions are bad out there! My arthritis has flared, and my right shoulder, arm, and fingers are throbbing! I don't have to go anywhere until tomorrow so, the heat's on, and the couch beckons.

Gloria, the soon-to-be-replaced screened bedroom window opens with a crank, but I leave it shut. As it is now, the screened balcony door is flanked by two matching long narrow windows that don't open. They will all be replaced with a screened sliding glass door, but more importantly, new weatherstripping! The new balcony doesn't drain, and the melted snow freezes, and it's icy out there.

I can identify with what you posted too well! :)

Good morning Lloyd!

Amy, do you normally have more rain in autumn? I've heard that your area doesn't have that much snow, but you know what they say about hearsay!

Jane, thank you for the kind words about my state. Here are some more unique Alaskan facts, "How big would Alaska be if it was a country? At 665,384, Alaska is twice as big as the next largest state, Texas, and nearly a quarter the size of the continental US.

Perhaps even more surprisingly, if Alaska were a country it would be the 17th largest in the world, just a tad larger than Iran." "Alaska also has the natural resources to be 100% self-sufficient." " Alaska is the least densely populated state, and one of the most sparsely populated areas in the world, at 1.2 inhabitants per square mile (0.46/km 2), with the next state, Wyoming, at 5.8 inhabitants per square mile (2.2/km 2).

Alaska is by far the largest U.S. state by area, and the tenth wealthiest (per capita income)." "Alaska, located on the extreme northwest of the North American continent, is the largest US state by size, covering an area of approximately 1.7 million square km (665,380 square miles). Despite its vastness, the state is the country's third-least populous state with only 1.26 people per square mile on average."

"The largest state (in area) of the United States, Alaska was admitted to the union as the 49th state in 1959, and lies at the extreme northwest of the North American continent. Acquired by the United States in 1867, the territory was dubbed "Seward's Folly" after U.S. Secretary of State William Seward, who arranged to purchase the land from Russia.

Critics of the purchase believed that the land had nothing to offer, but the discovery of gold in the 1890s created a stampede of prospectors and settlers. Alaska is bounded by the Beaufort Sea and the Arctic Ocean to the north; Canada's Yukon Territory and British Columbia province to the east; the Gulf of Alaska and the Pacific Ocean to the south; the Bering Strait and the Bering Sea to the west; and the Chukchi Sea to the northwest. The capital is Juneau."

"Russia controlled most of the area that is now Alaska from the late 1700s until 1867, when it was purchased by U.S. Secretary of State William Seward for $7.2 million, or about two cents an acre.
During World War II, the Japanese occupied two Alaskan islands, Attu and Kiska, for 15 months.

President Roosevelt relocated many victims of the nineteen-thirties dust bowl to Alaska where they prospered.

Stalin and Roosevelt's WWII lend-lease program where the US loaned fighter planes to Russia and taught Russians to fly them was located in Fairbanks where there's a statue commemorating the event.

There are seven unique geographical and climate areas in the state.

Alaska contains 17 of the 20 highest peaks in the United States. At 20,320 feet, Mt. Denali is the tallest mountain in North America.

Alaska has roughly 5,000 earthquakes every year. In March of 1964, the strongest earthquake recorded in North America occurred in Prince William Sound with a magnitude of 9.2.
The most powerful volcanic explosion of the 20th century occurred in 1912 when Novarupta Volcano erupted, creating the Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes in Katmai National Park.

The temperature dropped to a record -80 degrees Fahrenheit at Prospect Creek Camp in 1971.
The state of Rhode Island could fit into Alaska more than 420 times.

People have inhabited Alaska since 10,000 BCE. At that time a land bridge extended from Siberia to eastern Alaska, and migrants followed herds of animals across it. Of these migrant groups, the Athabaskans, Aleuts, Inuit, Yupik, Tlingit and Haida remain in Alaska."

SUNDAY afternoon HELLO to ALL.  WE are watching the second half of my Broncos Game. Our quarter back is on concussion protocol, so we may not be able to be 4-0 today😩

We have heard on our news that many people are jumping the gun and going in for their third vaccine.  Our doc said to not even think about getting another Moderna vaccine until it is announced what the booster will be.  He sad Moderna is the stronger of the vaccines and we are better covered than other vaccines people have been given.  Glad you have had your flu shot.

It is perfect temperatures here today.  We are not expecting any moisture for a few days, but we sure could use some.

SHIRLEY, glad you are back home safe after your drive to MO. Nice you got to see a few friends at your luncheon.  Sorry about those sore ribs.  I hope you can take it easy and give your boo-boo's some down time🙏🙏

PATRICIA, I enjoyed reading the stats that you shared about Alaska.

AMY, I have to admit I have certainly slowed down A LOT, but I am hopeful I will gain some back.  I, too, wish I could borrow Frankie.  Poor Bob has been so busy taking care of me for the last six months, our home really needs a good cleaning😩

GLORIA, a lot of us get confused about the DAY.....seems they are ALL the same🤪🤪. Loved the Malox Poem.....it pretty much covers us all‼️

Guess I best head for the kitchen and see f I c@n help Bob.

Have a good evening💞

God morning...

Temp rose in the night tis now 51° and now windows and doors are open to let some cooler air in. A fire proved to be too much this morning. :2funny:

Going to make a phone call and see when an oil change on the van is available today or later on the day tomorrow. Quilt was finally done now to make binding which doesn't take long and it too can go.

Jane,as for the rain David called and said he was the cause due to washing his truck. I would have said yes it is your fault but told him I helped when I washed the van!!

Jenny, you are one that appreciates their husband's help  and I am sure he doesn't mind helping you.

Patricia, yes our Fall rains. They help bring up the rivers plus wells that may have gotten low in the summer. I enjoy the Fall rains as I know how much they are needed. Really enjoyed all the information in your post about Alaska ,thank you for sharing.

Better go feed the birds, I saw drop wing the crow in the group yesterday. For a while he was missing so nice to see him back. Geese are making more fights each day now and it has been a while since the loon call has echoed across the lake.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's been raining off and on since just after we finished eating out on my son's patio.  He made barbecued spare ribs with his own special barbecue sauce on them and they were delicious.  Sarah, his wife, made baked little red potatoes in the oven and fresh corn off the cob.  There was a choice of pie for dessert.  It was delicious but the company was even better.  Frankie joined us.

Then my son drove me in my car home (I don't drive in the dark) and Sarah picked him up.  The rest of the day was a busy one and if you've heard the expression "I'm so tired I could cry"....I WAS!  I went to bed early....around 9:30 and I slept well until 6 this morning.

It's raining here and it's supposed to rain most of the day today, tomorrow and Friday and Saturday.

PATRICIA, I loved our "Lesson for the Day".  Thank you for keeping us informed and up to date.  With you around, we'll never become "stupid old ladies/men"!

AMY, there have been geese forming up in this area for a month now.  The must be teaching the "newbies" to follow formation so they don't get lost on the way South.

GLORIA, I've read that poem before but I'd forgotten until you posted it.  It's a good one for us older folks!

Gotta go!  It's almost time for Cooper to show up!  I'm going to stay home and try to clean up some corners today before my cousin arrives on Wednesday.  I can't wait to see him!  It's been more than 20 years since I've seen him.  He lives in Sacramento, Calif. but he's travelling the East and he's stopping here late Wed. Afternoon and spending the night before he heads off to the Boston area.

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Amy, I see you find names for the birds like I do (drop wing). Does that one migrate?  We had a Canada goose that lost a leg to fish line cutting off circulation & I would take corn a couple times a day to where it was recovering. So sad to watch, but it's mate waited with it & finally they took off for the north, with the one leg dangling by fish line to the other leg. A local bird rescurer did a video of one goose brought in with fish line around both legs. He released it before it's legs were strong enough to hold it up (behind my house), but it had trouble walking so don't know if it made it. Too bad people that enjoy fishing don't realize what can happen to the line they carelessly leave behind.

Patricia, when I was a teenager my youngest brother was sent to the military base in Anchorage & bought an Airstream to take his wife & new baby(early 1950s). She was so good about letters describing their surroundings so I really fell in love with the idea of spending a summer just looking around (not realistic). A cousin started up a trucking line that added to my interest and then another brother was assigned the job of doing an ecology study of how the pipeline affected wildlife. By then I really was ready to go BUT.. not meant to be. My joy in traveling is to meet the people and see what REAL life is like. I used to check a site online of people talking about their travels to Alaska, met Mary Zelle (she posts over in Bosom Buddies) when she & husband made a 2 & 1/2 month trip touring with a camper. They traveled everywhere.

I'd better fix my breakfast, Tom & Tiger ate but Callie still hasn't come home. I really felt bad about leaving her behind.

Jane, envy you the visit with your cousin. One of my favorites is "back east" staying with a son while taking radiation treatments for cancer. Living where I do my house could be a regular stop off if I ever got it ready for company. Most of the east-west travelers go the interstate north of where I live so I haven't put out an open invitation. I would have welcomed this cousin but expect he flew cross country. Haven't heard how he is doing for a few weeks so will e-mail when I get off here. Lunch with your son sounds delicious, I think you have a super nice family.

And now I will send wishes for everyone to have a wonderful day. It is cool enough this morning to enjoy being outside but ribs kept me awake all night & need to make up for it.

Shirley, yes, they get names. I just had a good laugh.  I was watching 3 crows at the feed ,two eating and one taking a sip of water from a rain puddle. Went on about my work when there was a commotion outside!! There was a murder of crows!! Must have been 15 for what I could count and were they raising a ruckus!! Threw out some bagels.....no cheese and all is sort of quiet for the time being.. :2funny: .

My brother that Lives At Page AZ. Ha nest they made on his front porch they use all the time. M uncle decided  that lived in Arkansas Had them nesting on his front porch as well and they dive bomb us strangers setting out there, but not him and his wife setting there alone. Have a good day.

Lloyd, good morning. Birds are not stupid.....they know and recognize people. If I whistle once the feed is put out for the crows they are soon here to clean up on the food. Shirley whistles for her fish and they come and I am sure you must have whistled for your horse and they too come. My trick for the horses, cows and sheep was to fill a big garbage bag  full of air and rattle it......they all came thinking they were going to get donuts. Once they all came I would scurry into the barn to get some grain for them.

Vanilla-Jackie that was nice of your friend bringing you flowers. I suspect they were cut flowers. if so ever three or four days, cutoff the bottom  off at a 45 degree angle. and make this formula and put them in it. take warm water about the tempter you would use as baby formula and test on your arm. ( a quart of warm water put tow t spoons of sugar and to or three drops of of bleach in it) do this every three or four days. they will last three or four times as long. Havea good day.

Good morning!  Of first importance...I'm thinking of you, Jane, and know that with your positive attitude and supportive family the medical problem you are dealing with will turn out all right.  But, I'm adding my prayers, just in case one more good thought can help.

I spend a lot of time in my big chair now and to pass the time I watch live videos from all over the world.  Some of the ones I watch are of huge flocks of migrating birds on a "flyby" in upper Wisconsin.  It is fascinating!  Also, I watch live videos of what is happening all over the world at different seaports and places that I have been and places that I wanted to see but never got to.  It keeps my brain active and informed.

I don't do much cooking now....mostly re-heating already prepared foods...but yesterday I was able to broil  steaks in the Cuisinart countertop oven/air fryer, etc. and make baked potatoes in the microwave.  They tasted so good.  Added fresh vegetables from Papa Spuds and we finished with pound cake from the deli.  It was so good but I was worn out when dinner was finished.  David did all of the clean up...but, he usually does that now, anyway.  Don't know what I would do without him and all of the convenience foods that I can have delivered to my door.  Even the steaks were from Schwan's.  With all of the modern conveniences at hand we don't need to starve even when we can no longer cook as we used to do.

Best thoughts and wishes to all who are fighting health problems of any kind.  I think of you all even though I don't get here to talk to each one of you as often as I would like to.

Take care, All

Good morning everyone, went back to sleep this morning after I first woke and woke again at 9:30. It is a gloomy rainy day and in the mid 50's, not  getting much warmer than that. Any one with arthritis knows this weather is not good. I wwill miss Yvette and her back massage today. Fran - the one coming today is  too gentle.

PATRICIA  now you went and did it, letting us know how many times the smallest state where I live is so small it would fit into Alaska 420  times. Except for some of the politicions here  this is a great state with a lot of history and a role in the Revolutionery war. Love the cartoon.

JENNY  I am another one who could use a homemaker who is not afraid  to clean. With the off white paint ed walls here I would love  to wash them like I used to do years ago but I would have to hire one of  those cleaning crews  to do that and don' t know anyone who was happy with the work they did or didn't do. I used to ve furniture and get behind and into corners. No one does  that these days.

JANE  did not go to bed as early as you last night but woke a lot later.

SHIRLEY  this  talk about  traveling had me remembering  the old T V show wi th Charles Curault (sp) taveling this country off the beaten path and meeting Americans from all walks of life. I loved that program and never missed it. He also wrote a book.

Had a bunch of phone calls t his morning so be tter get this pos ted before the CNA ge ts here.
Have a good day and stay safe.

Good morning from the Interior, where we're at 30 degrees after three days in the low twenties and snow, rain, and ice. We're headed back into the forties, and they say no snow for a while. However, there are roiling gray clouds foaming over the foothills. I don't think we've seen the last of falling snow. Unfortunately, I have to go out today.

Amy, I looked up the Ambassador Bridge, and it looks as if they're still investigating with no clear picture of events. I'm glad your son wasn't near the site! We don't have crows here. The younger ravens hang in a group, but the older mated pairs will vigorously defend their territory against any stray ravens. They don't need our help in feeding! Many shoppers have returned to their truck to find the bed pillaged, and several ice fishers have lost their catches to ravens when they don't pay attention!

One last blurb about the state; a few blocks from me is an older cemetery, and the Russian pilots that didn't pass their training are buried there with a hammer and scythe on their headstones. The Soviet pilots lived in a dormitory next to the airfields, now a public library and malls. I've heard that they enjoyed what nightlife we had back then. I believe we are the only state that simultaneously hosted one group of allies. While at the same time had part of our territory occupied by the Axis.

Thanks, Jane, most of our ducks, geese, loons, swans, etc., vacated the premises last month. However, with our milder temperatures, some ducks and geese have been staying thru the winter. The smaller birds that overwinter have left their single species only flocks to join their substantial yearly winter multispecies flocks.

Shirley, yes, the Anchorage area is beautiful, very similar to Scandinavia! We're not as lush as they're part of rain country along with Washington and Oregon. We're more forested. I wish you could have made it here too. I could have taken you out to see the pipeline. Sadly that era of oil prosperity has ended.

Lloyd, bright birds not to bite the hand that feeds them!

Good morning, Phyllis! I often spend my evenings traveling the world just so. It's fascinating and delightful! I also have several blogs I watch of people crossing the globe in vans.

Gloria, I know you must have more of a population than we do! When I was traveling in the southeastern US, I was amazed that we could travel in what I considered a town or city, only to occasionally see signs on a street corner saying now entering such and such town or city! I traveled as far east as New Jersey and as far northeast as Ohio. Sadly I never made it to Pennsylvania or further northeast.

Patricia, we also have ravens here and I love listening to them. The crows we have nick named MTO birds, the crows will fly over the highway back and forth looking for road kill which they do clean up.

A good Monday to ALL💐We have just returned from having breakfast out with my long time growing up friend.  We do not get to meet as often as we would like as she lives in Wyoming.  We met last Friday night for dinner then again today.  She is in town to visit relatives and friends.  She had a birthday not long ago so these two meals out plus a little gift was our celebration for her.

JACKIE, I will go look for the picture of your beautiful flowers💐 Thank you for sharing the picture with us. They say a drop of bleach will help preserve cut flowers, but I would not put any in potted flowers🤪🤪

PHYLLIS, isn't it nice that we can buy prepared food now and it is pretty tasty?  I am glad your David is there to assist you.  I love watch such shows with birds and the like in them.  They are fascinating.

AMY, I had to chuckle at your shaking a bag and the animals would think they were getting donuts🤪. Local folks have been complaining here about these terrible schreaking sounds waking them up in the middle of the night.....general senses of opinion is it is fox mating.

SHIRLEY, such a sad thing to see when birds get tangled up in fishing line or soda can holders!  They showed a elk on the local news with a full sized tire around it's neck!  Poor thing!

JANE, what fun to spend time with the family.  Food always tastes so good when you eat outside with family.  Thankfully your son drove you home.....not fun to drive at night at our ages.

PATRICIA, a pop up on my phone today said it is Karen Hills Birthday 😩Happy Birthday in Heaven sweet lady.

My PT got canceled today and I am disappointed as I look forward to it after a two day weekend. 😩  We are going for a overnight to meet up with  our 3rd son, wife and Jonah.  Not sure how I will do, as there is not a recliner in the hotel room, but it will be fine.  I may have some good news to share soon about this visit with them.... I hope!  I can not wait to get a hug from my boy....he is growing up so quickly and I miss him so.

Have a good evening EVERYFRIEND.

Jenny

Hello Everyfriend!  Well, one of the things I got done today was to clean off my desk.  Now you can actually SEE the desktop!  And there's room to work.  Of course, it's not going to last long.  It never does.

JENNY, nice to see you and I have a guess as to what you expect to hear from your son.  Enjoy the hugs from the little one and have a good visit.

We did get two nice walks in this afternoon.  The rain actually stopped and aside from the humidity, it was pretty nice out.  I heard the geese on the nearby pond and there must be a lot of them over there because they were pretty loud. They seem to fly between the river to the west and the pond on the east side.  Until they decide it's time to fly SOUTH!

I'm about ready for the haystack tonight.  I've been trying to make my house presentable for when my cousin appears.  I don't want him to spent the next 20 years thinking I'm a slob.

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

...I am guessing one of two things, either another baby on the way, or, THEY are moving back closer to " your " home...Personally i am thinking they maybe on the move again...I know you are always happier when " your babies " are closer to home...

Good Morning Everyfriend!  I hope you all have a lovely day.  I'm expecting and early arrival this morning and I'm ready.  Just a couple things to see to before my cousin arrives tomorrow and then a nice visit.

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.  (Can't wait to hear JENNY'S news)

Good morning..

Milder today and no rain at the moment. A multitude of things to be done today. Waiting on a phone call from hubbys Dr around 10:15 this morning. Washing windows is a job that needs to be done. There are 3 big windows in the sunroom that need to be done first then onto the other ones.

Jane, you are one of the hardest working lady I know definitely not a slob! Have an enjoyable time of catch up with your cousin!!

Jenny, hope you can get PT soon....must admit I hope for a playmate for Jonah.

Patricia, when I talked with son he was in Janes State..but he said he didn't cross that way. I can't imagine the long delay that would cause with both trucks and passenger vehicles. Do you still have your snow?

Phyllis, we don't cook or eat like we used to. I remember cooking a dutch oven full of potatoes and a 7-8 lb roast  along with vegetables and salads. Sat was spent baking.....4-5 pies, tarts, cookies and muffins with hopes that on Mon there would be some left for lunches.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good morning; it's a big day in the Interior at 29 degrees and cloudy at 4:30. We had six inches of snow, eight inches in the foothills, but to paraphrase, along came the rain and washed it all away. At least most of it as the remainder froze to icy slush. Yesterday and last night, the graders and trucks were out clearing most of it away.

While paying bills and buying groceries and pet supplies, I saw a laptop and brought it home. While setting it up, W11 began downloading. So today, I'm coming to you, brand new on most fronts.

Jenny, I'm with Amy on hoping Jonah will have a new playmate.

Amy, I used to cook and meal prep, rinse and repeat, and carried that over into retirement. I don't eat as I used to. And especially after losing 31 pounds from my fall in February. It took a serious fall to accomplish what my doctor had urged in January 2017, and now I don't want to go back to my unhealthy weight. I found a neighbor here that took 7 pounds of my dried cranberries and several bags of rice, dried beans, and grains. He used the now closed donations as a one-stop shopping center, so he was glad to receive what I couldn't use.

I helped him sign up for the bimonthly food program and arranged an online appointment with a service coordinator to take it further. I can't imagine the way he was doing things when he couldn't travel on his own. I believe many older men on their own aren't aware of what's available. If we hadn't struck up a casual elevator conversation, he would be without groceries, or at least not many of them.

He helped me out by taking what I couldn't donate, and I helped him out by giving him information to do it on his own, so it was a win-win.

Patricia, that was a win win ...he now has what you had an over abundance plus information to help him.

Laundry on the go now to quit procrastinating and do those windows!

Cooper and I are going to scoot down to the corner and grab the mail  and frankie will be arriving around 4.  I think her plan is to spend the night here tonight because she has an early work day tomorrow.

My cousin will be arriving around suppertime tomorrow and I'm doing a crock pot dinner.  I thought that might be easier than anything and not much tending or mess to getting it ready.  He wanted to take me out for supper but I'm not eating a lot of things and also not so neatly so I thought we might just eat in.

HOORAY for KYLE!  Good news is always welcome!

Keep on keeping on, everyone!

More rain and snow to come...

Difficult Travel Conditions Wednesday Night And Thursday...

A mix of rain and snow is expected from late Wednesday night through Thursday over the Steese, Elliot and Parks Highways, including the Fairbanks area. This is expected to create areas of wet slushy snow from late Wednesday night through Thursday, with the worst conditions over hills.

In Fairbanks, A mix of rain and snow is expected to develop after midnight Tuesday night, then change to all rain during the day Wednesday. Less than one inch of snow is expected in Fairbanks by Thursday morning, but hills around Fairbanks could see 1 to 2 inches of snow above 1000 ft by Thursday morning.

Stopping by to say Sweet Dreams and God Bless. I'm ready to turn in. Been trying to get chores done & off the list but discovered while ago I have doubled one day so will have to fix that problem, can't be in two places at once, right?

Fantastic news, Amy, so happy for you both.

Jane, your cousin will be so delighted with your home cookin' and easier to gab than in any restaurant. Such a fun day in store.

Phyllis, so glad to see you popping in. Every time I drive through the park across from Back Bay Blvd I think of you.

Patricia, I also had a bit of luck the other day when the pool guy brought some parts I asked for & while I was apologizing for a pile of "stuff" on the floor I noticed he looked pretty interested so asked if he knew anyone that might could use. Lots of pots & pans & skillets, a whole box of all size lights that were perfectly good but I put in LED all over the house & had no use for them. The night before my daughter-in-law took a huge stack of kitchen tools, even one new skillet(gift) for a new cooking program at the school where she teaches math... So, without having to load the car I got rid of the biggest part of my extras. My daughter is the one that did the crawling in the lower cabinets so she took home a couple cast iron skillets & had her car loaded when she headed home. Both boys found things they wanted for camping or just because. Anyway, like you, we were all happy!

Jenny, glad to see your shoulder is coming along & excited about your latest news....

Gloria, the driving wasn't so bad with the cracked rib but bending down to feed, water the cats & climb up on that bed was no easy feat. I did call my doctor today & will check out the extra pain across the back, concerned a little about a lung behind the cracked rib aches. He always makes me feel better, doesn't get excited about my fears & asks what I want to do. He knows I don't go for pain meds & when he suggests something I'm not willing to take or do, just marks the chart with "patient refuses". He reminds me of my oldest gr-son, Cas thought so too. Cas was his patient before me so have known him for more than 30 years.

Jackie, so proud that you did a reading at your church & they appreciated the effort and job you did. I absolutely freeze, always did, when I had to speak in front of a crowd. Didn't bother me at all cheerleading because I wasn't serious & certainly had the loud voice & lungs for cheering, but voice squeeks & sounds totally different when reading someone else's words. So happy you have found a more friendly, caring group of people.

I didn't take notes because my head is still scrambled from so much activity the last couple weeks. I've got a list by the computer, by the stove & in the bathroom where I dress, of all the "to-dos". Tomorrow is "Mow Day" which means I have to unlock gates front & back & move the extenders to the downspouts, etc. I am not pleased with the latest mowing people, they did not do what I hoped but seemed insistant if I wanted them to clean the gutters. It rained a couple days after they cleaned them & the water ran over as bad as before. Gripe-gripe

Been on the phone a couple hours with 2 of the kids checking up. Tiger showed up for the midnight snack so must be bedtime. As Lloyd says, "hope to see you tomorrow". I'll turn out the lights, Lloyd & Nancy....

Good morning..another lovely day in the making here. Thank you for the birthday wishes for Kyle. He may be another year older but is a young pup at heart.

We are going to go touring for the day, will take in all the Fall splendor while we can. A good rain will now put the colourful leaves down.

Jane, enjoy the time with your cousin.

Patricia, snow and rain together is not a good thing...hidden ice. ,makes walking slippery and dangerous. Be careful if you're out in it.

Jenny, enjoy your time with your family. Bet lots of laughter and giggles and HUGS!

Shirley, it is so difficult to get good help anymore. Did the Dr suggest an xray to see how the rib is healing and see your lungs>

Gloria, hope all is well with you.

Lloyd, did you get Nancy to say yes to coming in the forum?

Better get ready, water for dogs, water for us.taking my tablet to get photos I hope.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  This will be short and it might be my only entry today and tomorrow.  I'm going to be busy today and maybe a bit out of it tomorrow after my tests.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PHYLLIS AND MAY YOU CELEBRATE MANY MORE IN GOOD HEALTH!

AMY, I think I already congratulated KYLE on his good news but just in case....CONGRATS, KYLE!

I'm off to get dressed and take Cooper for a walk.  And then get the crock pot started and put away some odds and ends.  I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.  Today promises to be one of my best!  Can't wait to visit with "Scoop".  He picked up that nickname because his father was a newspaper writer when he was born and it stuck for life!

Shirley when I was in high school In agg classes we would go on field trips and see different projects going on. and we went out and did s sight about Laying out terraces and the building a quant building. we were picking up ears of corn and thronging at each other, and the prof Had one finger missing a part of it, he pointed it at us and said I mean stop or yoou will be kicked out of agg. class. I took out off towards a pond that had ducks on it and the other kids Hollard Hammond go on down there with your web footed friends. and for a longtime after that they called me webfoot, but after that dropped the foot and just called me web. and that has gone mostly now but for a acosenal old class mate seeing me and saying hi web. My mother was beside her self about it she said I thought I named my children so they would not be able to have nick names. Life goes on any way. see You all Later.

I just had a call from Gloria and her computer froze up and "it ain't even winter".... she will check in when it is fixed or a new one. Have to make one crack, she sounds like a kid to talk to, not a 90 year old lady! So sorry we don't have bashes anymore but maybe we need to come up with an old bus to chase around the world to visit, you think?

Lloyd, my last name was Smith so with 7 Shirleys in my grade school classes, even the teachers called me "Smitty" and that's how I signed my name all through school. Ike Eisenhower's mother thought she had come up with a name that couldn't be turned into a nickname & look how that turned out!   :-\  ;D

Good morning, rain here and 41 degrees this morning. We had eight inches logged in the foothills, more in the mountains, and mainly slush in the valley. We have rain expected to turn to snow in the afternoon. Ironically, the leaves began falling Monday. I do have one more errand today, and that should be it.

Lloyd, good morning! I turned seventy at the end of July, so I'm not that far behind you! I hope you take photos of all your winter projects and post them as you have before.

Jane, I hope you have a wonderful visit with Scoop! The only nickname I've had was Angelface from my father, which shortened to Angel. I used it for my avatar for years, even tho it was a misnomer.  ;)

Happy birthday, Phyllis and may it be a happy one!

Shirley, I wish I could donate so many items that are just taking up space. For example, I have multiple scarves and vests I used to wear at work and some older pots, pans, and crockpots. We are in month 19 of our total lockdown, and only essentials are open. I recently cut my hair using manicure scissors, and I must have earlier looked very moppish, as I had compliments. Our Delta surge made the news in the UK and even Switzerland!  :-\   :-[  :'(

There were two or three Patricias in every class throughout my school years.

Amy,
I have to go out one last time today, and then I will be in for most of the month, which will be wonderful.

Enjoy your trip, it sounds nice, and I hope you take time to enjoy it and that you take photos!

I hope Kyle has a very happy birthday and some treats!

I am so sorry to hear of Gloria's computer misfortune and know how she feels. I hope she's able to return soon!

Good Morning,

Trying to catch up - apologies if I miss commenting on someone's post.

Jackie, love the pictures of your bouquet.  How thoughtful of the church - and a real indication of how much you mean to them (IMO).

Jenny, Greeley is within easy driving distance (well - maybe not "easy" because of traffic) so I'm guessing both choices are a possibility.

Amy,  Happy Birthday to Kyle and Congratulations on the Good News.

Phyllis,  A Belated Happy Birthday to you.

Jane, Enjoy your special company.  Did I miss what kind of tests you're having?

Re: nicknames.  My husband's "crowd" had nicknames for each other but he asked me to call him by his regular name when we started seriously dating.  They also had a special Greeting that they continued using into middle/old age. All but one of that bunch are now deceased.  I wouldn't be surprised if, when his time comes, he's greeted at the Pearly Gates with a chorus of the deep-toned "WUH".

I know the roofing project is finally finished because the Porta-Pottys have been taken away.   Still need to get my patio arbor replaced but have been told the shipment is delayed until later this month. That's okay; I'm enjoying the open space now that the sun is coming up behind the roofline.

Seems as if my days go by quickly but I'd have a hard time saying why. Dinner date with son tonight.  Miss Emily bringing dinner tomorrow night, which should be interesting.  :smitten:

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere a Happy "Hump Day" (it is Wednesday, isn't it?  :uglystupid2: )

Noticed the 2 posts added while I was typing.
 Sorry about Gloria's computer.

Patricia, your weather sounds like October in Leadville, CO. (Actually, I noticed quite a few other similarities when I "toured" Alaska).  The aspen color was pretty against the snow on the Continental Divide peaks but, of course, when the snow moved a bit lower, it knocked the leaves off.

Patricia, I've been cutting my own hair since 8th grade, more convenient & think how much I've saved all these years!  I can count on one hand the number of times I've been to a beauty shop & was never happy with what they did. I cut with a single edge (Schick) razor blade because the hair is thick & coarse & it gives it an angle cut so lays better. I can tell any place I use a scissor because it will stick out until I cut with the razor blade. Don't know what I will do when I can no longer reach around the back of my neck because everyone tells me beauticians will not use a razor blade these days. Maybe let it grow? You might want to drag out those vests & scarfs, think they are back in, at least around here.

Can't get anything started while waiting for the mowers to get here. I sure made a mistake, this guy's talk was "all talk" & none of his work has been up to par.

Hey, Callie, nice to see you. So far no real color showing in KS or MO, some trees look like half dead, just brown. In my neighborhood a sweet gum tree down the street is dropping leaves that look dry, ground nearly covered. My sweet gum is all green but for a very few that dropped. I took a sample for an autopsy one year when some were dropping like that & they said "sweet gum tend to put on too many leaves so will drop some if they don't get enough water". So I quit worrying.

And, Sandy, I remember when "gay" had a totally different meaning!  I knew a lot of guys nicknamed Butch... and Buddy.

Just had another robo call from Rachael with dealer services about my car warranty. Okay, if I didn't answer numbers I don't recognize I would not have gotten to talk to Gloria!!! Sure wish someone on OUR side was smart enough to do damage to robo callers~~

I get a call about my car Warranty every couple of Months. If I have nothing better to do I go along with the pitch for a while and at some point ask how old of a car will they Warranty. When I tell them I have a 99 Toyota they tend to hang up the phone on me  :idiot2:    :2funny:   I do have a 99 and it is still in FINE running condition. Just have a couple of road stone dings on the hood. Actually I never had more than the original Toyota Warranty.
My wife always got mad at me when I "played" with robo calls.
I also get calls from my grandson (of which I have none) on a fairly routine basis. I usually give this guy a promise that I'll be right there to bail him out, and then complain about doing it the week before. In time they conclude that I'm playing with them and they hang up.

Haha, Rick, we had those calls to "Grandma" or "Grandad" & Cas loved to string them along. I do have a couple personal alarms for live or robo callers & hope someone gets a headache from the screeching. I can't believe we don't have someone smart enough to come up with a way to ruin their fun. Can't imagine anyone stupid enough to buy into any of their schemes but they must make money or enjoy torturing people. This old lady doesn't have much patience for being woke up from a nap!

I have been waiting all day to unlock & lock back the gates to the back yard. The mower is getting a paper today that I need to know if morning or afternoon from now on or those gates will not be unlocked at all for them. I can't just leave them open because we do have kids in the neighborhood and I won't take the chance of one trying to slip in and drown.

I'm having a great visit with my cousin and loving every minute of it!  But he's tired from traveling and I have to be up early so we decided that it's probably a good time to head for the haystack early.  He's in his room now and I'm heading for mine.  We shared a lot of memories tonight!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Ah, Jane, just what I needed to read, that your day was a pleasure/success/happy.  Seems the world has been so crazy fighting the last few years, politics & Covid, we have trouble finding just the happy, peaceful joy of living. Sweet dreams to all, God Bless.  Love ya, Shirley

Good morning..

We had a full day yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Colours out did themselves, from bright reds to orange ,yellows and rusts. We did see people out trying to capture the sights on canvas and cameras.  No moose ,deer or wolves to be seen but on our was a mama turkey and two of her clutch crossed the road in front of us leaving papa on the other side.
The phone started ringing as soon as we got in the door with birthday wishes and folks wondering where we had been all day. We don't usually go away for that length of time. All in all a perfect day!

Jane, let's hope that your cousin will make the trip again and stay a while.

Shirley, my son has a remedy for those the one with your grandson is needing money  my son will retort back......how can you be so cruel...we just buried him/her yesterday and they soon hang up . Either that or ..answers the phone ,listens then says  one minute. Speaks into the air and tells ?? ok you can cover the body up now... back to the scammer he will ask how did you know the victim. I need your phone and address ......and for some reason the scammer hangs up.  :2funny:

Sorry to hear of Gloria's computer.....we will really miss her . Hope her grandson can either fix or get her a new one.

Lloyd, I tell scammers that want to sell me a security system that I already have 3. When they ask me what kind I say 2 vicious (hahaha ) dogs and a husband that at one time taught judo.

Enjoy ,need to get done what didn't get done yesterday and todays chores.

Enjoy your day..

Thank you to all of you, my friends, for remembering me on my birthday.  It made me feel good to have so many good wishes.  I can't believe I have made it to 92 and still managing to get along fairly well.  I'm blessed.

I had forgotten that Kyle and I share a birthday, Amy, and neglected to wish him a wonderful day.  Best belated Happy Birthday to him.  I'm glad he had a good day with his best friend and life companion (and very caring wife.)

Cloudy, warm, and VERY humid here.  Still feels like summer even though we are well into October.  Mother Nature will not let the hot weather go!  David has to go pick up the grocery order later this morning and I hope he won't get caught in any passing showers.

Take care, All.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  And before I forget (again) please, ANY, wish KYLE belated Happy Birthday wishes from me.  I know I didn't do that!

I'm back from the two scans and now we wait for a call from the Dr.  The said, "any time in the next 24 hours".  And I don't even have Cooper today to take my mind off thinking.

SCOOP is on his way...he made his own coffee and he's an excellent bed maker.  I hope he'll be back sometime but he lives in Sacramento, CA and he's 80 so I'm not really planning on seeing him again.  We shared some good memories and a made a couple new ones.

PHYLLIS, I hope I'm as chipper as you are when/if I reach 92! Keep on keeping on!

I'm going to go find something to do that will occupy my mind.  Maybe it's a good day to see to paying the bills.  That'll sure as heck occupy my mind!  Enjoy your day, Everyfriend!

Good morning from an Interior where it is once again raining.

Jane, I'm glad you had a warm memory-filled visit with Scoop! And I'm hoping your scans went well!

Phyllis, 92, you are blessed.

Lloyd, I hope you have a good day today with Nancy!

Amy, I hope you and Kyle enjoyed your day out on his birthday! We don't have wild turkeys here unless you count the larger ones.

I'm going back to town again to return something, the second time in as many days! :(

I rarely had to deal with Robo/spam telephone calls as I was usually working odd schedules or on my way to and fro with two bus rides on either end. When I was home, I let my answering machine pick up, and I either interrupted the message or called back.

The only time I played back a scam was years ago at a psychic's performance. At one point, she had asked those who needed to hear from a loved one to let one of the ushers know. However, since communicating with the dearly departed was very exhausting, she couldn't help everyone. However, they could make a later private appointment. I stood and was chosen. I asked, in a shaky voice, how my brother was doing; he had left us so suddenly, you see.

The psychic received enough clues from the usher's passing along the question to her. She replied that he was doing well, wrapped in the arms of his heavenly father but took time to watch over me and intercede for me. She said more but I don't remember the rest. My friends and I were visibly shaken. Along the way home, one of my friends said she didn't know I had a brother. She doesn't, the others replied; I was bad back then.

It's hard to believe that was forty or more years ago when I did that!

I got one of those Robocalls that started out, "Granny, this is your grandson...."   I asked which one and he said, "Don't you recognize my voice?"  I said I didn't and he proceeded to ask questions which I answered with an I don't recall.  Finally, I asked him if his mother knew he was on the phone and he proceeded with that story that he needed money to get back home.  I asked him how he got where he was and he said he drove.  I said, "how did you see out the window to drive?  You're only 6 years old!  He hung up on me!

I wonder if it is the same "Grandson" on all these grandson calls. The chatter sounds so similar. Could have been a written procedure from the originator of the scam. But it is fun to string him along for a while. I wonder if there are any stats on the success rate of these things. Maybe some Google research tonight.

I just had a d**n call that I answered because it didn't show a name but our area code & I've been expecting a call from my doctor, he sometimes uses his own phone instead of the office. I went in this morning for a check up about the rib & sore lung under it... X-ray of both body parts & a call back later. He is a long time friend/doctor & knows all my fears about not wanting to have to go into the hospital because of the cats. He was Cas' doctor before mine. My oxygen is low, BP high, short winded & fastest heart beat in town, got good reasons for all the above but also they are side effects of people that had Covid. All that & it is peak hayfever season so this old body is throwing a fit.

I was talking to a friend when the robo came in so we hung up in hopes it was the doctor. I can't believe this country doesn't have someone with enough smarts to stop those doing the calls or fine them so much they wouldn't dare, block all calls from the country they come from?  Wonder if politicians are getting kick backs to NOT go after them, you think?  ;) Maybe if phone companies had to pay a fine for letting them get thru they would find a way to stop them.  I tried what Cox had to offer once but they screwed up & allowed the robo calls to come in and my family blocked OUT. Finally had them remove the service and I switched to AT&T. Still plenty of robo calls and I still answer a lot of them but can block a lot but the calls get through on a different number, same recording. I don't often get a live caller anymore. And that, ladies & gents, is how the cookie crumbles........

I  have Malwarebytes on my cell and their VPN, so I never get scams on my cell as I did with the old style phone system. Before cell phones, I automatically left calls to go to the answering machine.

People quickly learned to tell me to pick up or call them back. I hated wasting time with nuisance calls. I would generally either blow an old fashion whistle directly into the receiver or hang up. Then I got smart and purchased the answering machine!

Good morning..

Foggy out there this morning. Today I  take the van in for an oil change and I think a caliper replacement.  There is a squeal in one rear wheel. Could be a stone but I think it is a caliper. :(  Neighbour is bringing me home then will take me back to town when they need to go in.

Jane, no news is good news but the worry is still there. Today may be the day to get a call from them.

Lloyd, Kyle is making little houses/a village. There
are chalets/ bake shop, quilt shop, Santa's house, a round house, hospital and a chocolate store

Shirley, I like the idea of phone companies paying a fine for letting the scammer/robo calls get through. The scammers are using our line that we pay for. Even my cell phone gets these calls and I sure didn't give out my number!

Better get a move on..

Enjoy your day ,stay safe..

Hey, Amy, where's the cheese shop?  I think he needs a pet store as well.... Won't that be fun setting up for Christmas?

Jane, I haven't had a call back from my doctor, either, and kinda making me nervous... I know this has got to be more than a cracked rib.

Got to hurry & fix me an egg sandwich, dress and get to the "Tag Office" to pay the tax & tags for the coming year. Have to be there early or sit in line for hours. A lot of other people don't get them on line or by mail, either, I'm not that good with my phone to try.

Lloyd, it's cool right now 66 degrees & going up to 90 today, even hotter tomorrow & then down a little.  I am ready for fall & winter, but bet I'll be whining if we get the cold & snow for this area that The Old Farmers's Almanac is predicting.

Wishing all a wonderful day.

Would you like the Phone Companies monitoring all your calls to make sure you are not scamming someone?  It would also take a lot of people to do that monitoring and would likely cause an increase in the cost of phone service.  On the other hand, if a Ford cuts you off on the road and you crash, should Ford be responsible for and damage?  I would say it is pretty much imposible for a service provider to know how a user is going to use their product. A couple of years ago a prominent politician was going to take care of that problem   - but. One thing I do think the phone companies could do is prevent Caller ID scamming (Entering a false caller ID ) But I believe it might require FCC involvement and definitely a big expense to modify every tel entity.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  Foggy here but not too cold...I think mid 60s heading for mid 70s.  Not so bad for this time of year.

Rammel, I agree with your "ramblings".  I think our bills would go up and I'm not in favor of higher bills but there must be something to do about all those calls.

Well, AMY, I've been living with your "No news is good news" and hoping it's right!  I still have not heard from the dr. about the scans.  However, there was a posting on the hospitals website that I read, didn't totally understand, passed on to my daughter.  She didn't totally understand it and passed it on to my son.  We all came to the same "guess".  They didn't find anything.  And they did make me an appointment for next Friday.  And my Dr. said once, that if there's bad news, she doesn't believe in making someone wait for it.  Soooooooo.....  I'm hangin' in there.

SHIRLEY, I hope your news is good and that he perceived healing and that's what he wants to tell you.

LLOYD, keep on keeping on.  I'm sure you'll make good use of the work bench and your family will LOVE the chests.

I'm off to collect shoes that don't show a lot of signs of wear.  The high school is collecting them for a project and it's my chance to get rid of some that I've hardly worn and will never wear again.  And it will also help someone else!

I hope you all have a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.

Rick, somewhere I heard that "key words" bring up monitoring of many conversations so when "your car warranty" comes up, track that caller & cut off any means of communication from that spot, no matter what & how many phone numbers involved. I have a few cousins left that have called (from all over the US) and would miss their calls if I didn't answer questionable ones. Some I know are robos & let those slide by but it is so irritating to stop whatever I'm doing, especially sleeping, to answer a robo. I still think pulling all communication from a country that allows robo calls, or states that don't make an effort to stop if call centers don't control, would perk up officials to take a stand! Should be a law in there somewhere .... okay, off the soapbox, Shirley

I changed my mind about getting tags today, would like to be here for that doctor's call. Need to be there early-early, which means out in rush hour traffic. Got to be in the right state of mind to handle that.  ;)

Jane, I have a bag with some of those shoes waiting to give away. Good luck with your news.

QuoteRammel, I agree with your "ramblings".  I think our bills would go up and I'm not in favor of higher bills but there must be something to do about all those calls.
First it would have to be made illegal to make those calls.  Enter our Politicians. Then any action taken would have to be approved by the FCC and/or local authorities. There are certain things that can be done but most are on a local basis - as used in crime cases. There are so many things (Call Forwarding, for example) one can do with a phone that it becomes difficult to track "bad behavior".  At one point in my career I got involved in trying to nail down a kidnapper. While exciting work it is stressful and participants are always trying to think of ways to resolve,
There were other events I got involved with but we always had to be very careful not to violate the regulations - both legal and Company.
You would probably be surprised at what people do to "beat the system". Even big/famous Companies get carried away
We found one person that had a way of getting in to a closed for the day business and using their phone to make calls - for whoever they befriended.
Again --- ramble, ramble, ramble

Great idea, ------ BUT.  How many valid car warranty calls might be made for buyers of new cars?  Do we put them out of business?  Or people who have bought car warranties and want to talk about a claim.

Good morning from an Interior that still has rain and more rain.

I learned this about scamming from an article years ago. They have this elaborate computerized system that rapidly spins through incalculable series of numbers. When they get a hit, it sends a robocall to that number, and the number goes into a memory bank. Those lists of numbers are  sold to waiting customers. They will use similar illegal systems to find weak computer passwords or blackmail public services, schools, and medical centers.

Those types of computerized systems are used not only for illegal means but also for legal means. You might get a legitimate call such as Rick mentioned or calls that are annoying but still legal, such as politicians, information surveys, insurance companies, organizations such as the Red Cross, AARP, or even neighborhood organizations.

A good Friday Morning HELLO! Today is SIX weeks from my surgery day......the day I can take off my sling😻😻  I have PT this afternoon and
I go to see my surgeon on Monday👍

I can not yet reveal my news, however I will have the OK to do it soon.  IF we did not have to worry about LURKERS
I would do it right now.....but we do!

Our time with family was wonderful....of course the time flew by MUCH too quickly😩😘.

Our youngest son just called and he is coming over to help us get some things done, so I have to get dressed.

Have a good day.

Good Afternoon,

Jenny,  Hooray for getting the sling off!  I'm guessing you're referring to - Ahem - "related" lurkers. ;) but I never forget that THE PUBLIC can ALL read these posts and only have to register if they want to join in.

Have enjoyed reading the responses to my question about "preparing" dinner (think I forgot to give that choice) and what to call various breads.

I know Jackie would say biscuits when she refers to our cookies and, probably, her scones are kind of like our biscuits.

Both sets of my grandparents came to Indian Territory before Oklahoma statehood - from Kansas and Nebraska.  My parents were 12 and 14.  So we didn't use a lot of the southern phrases common in our area.
Hubby was born and raised in Mississippi. I had to giggle when we had started steady dating (64 years ago) and he said he was "fixin' to carry his Mama back to work".  I think (hope) I was tactful enough not to mention my mental picture of him scooping her up and trotting down the street with her in his arms.

I can relate to the spam calls; fortunately, I can block most of them but agree they just use a different number.  Current annoyance is doctors' offices that are now using a Call Service - some of which are out of state Area Codes.  I realize appointment reminders are robo-calls but I think they should identify the particular office they're representing.

Weather gurus are having a fine time predicting possible severe weather for the next week.  I've done necessary errand this morning and am saving Domestic Duties for stay-at-home days...after watching my Oklahoma University Sooners beat Texas tomorrow.

Miss Emily brought Arby's for dinner last night.  Off to have left-overs for lunch.

Have an Enjoyable Day, Everyfriend.

...yes dunking a biscuit in our cups - mugs of teas....now as for scones, dont they come under a cake...( cream tea ) they do here in UK... I know our cream and jam scone comes jam first - clotted cream second when in Cornwall....When in neighbouring Devon, it is cream first - jam on top...Guess easier to just turn the scone upside down whichever county you are in..

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's a cloudy day in Central PA.  supposed to rain later but not till early evening then all day tomorrow.

I didn't stop in last night but then, almost no one did!  I had a bit of bad news yesterday.  The scans that were done this week, picked up some cells in my jaw.  That's the only place they showed and I have an appt with my dr and her associate on Tuesday to decide what must be done about them.  I didn't use that nasty word that begins with C because I dislike it with every fiber of my being.  I don't use the word "hate" very often but in connection with that C word, I do use it!  In the meantime, I've decided that God is with me and he hears our prayers.  I hope you all bend his ear and ask him to be with me!  I'm choosing not to discuss this with anyone except the drs. at this point and I'm just going to get on with my life.

I wish you all a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Jane, as always you are in my prayers..The most important thing is to not let worry over take everything. You have the BEST Dr. working for you. Rest when you can, don't push yourself. When your body is resting ,it is healing..no stress on your body. Take it one day at a time..let others around you help you.
Now having said all that to a special lady that can put most of us to shame working I hope you listened to some of it.  :smitten:

Jane, you know we're with you full time, prayers & thoughts. Much as I HATE the thought of "C", it isn't as tough as it used to be. My brother in law had the worst kind (MMelanoma) but with chemo lived 30 more years. (That will make us 116). You are full of love and that makes all the difference in the out come. One thing you can count on is that any time you do want to come in and scream or cry, we'll be here for you and won't tell your family you had a melt down, promise.

Today I went to a reunion of my long time Girl Scout friends.  We're lucky to have people over the years who have planned these gathering and we all share some old but timeless memories and it's fun to bring the back and share them again.  Some of the people who come to the reunions, I've known since I was in fifth grade when I started to go to Girl Scout Camp.  I love seeing them every year.  And some of them were beginners when I was a Senior Scout Counselor-in-Training.  But the memories are all there!

I hope you are all having a good day.  I hope it continues to be a good one!  Keep on keeping on!

Good Morning Everyfriend!  We were supposed to have rain all day today but that prediction has changed.  Now we're just looking at a cloudy day and a high temp of 68!  I can live with that!

This will be a shorty because I have to go get ready to go to church in a little while.  Breakfast first and then prep.  My granddaughter's husband is preaching at their church in Houston, TX this morning and I'll be home from church in time to visit their service on line.  I always knew that he picked a winner when he married her but now I pretty sure it was mutual.  I really like him and they make a great pair!

I hope you all have a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Hello everyone, my grandson just left and he got this lemon up and running again. When he finally go t my message he called me and I  told him what  happened. He said he thought  he could fix what happened. He worked his magic and here I am once again. I have no idea wha the did, his fingers jus t fly over the keyboard and different pages come up and go so fast before I could read anythinG. He brou ght his son with him and it  looks like he grew since I last saw him at Christmas. My son  told me he has been shy since school started t his year and boy I could see it. I asked him how he likes school this year and he said  the best part was going home. I asked him what he liked learning most  and he said Math. I told him his grandpa was very good with numbers, too. He gave me a big smile when I said  that. Tha t was  the hilight of this past  week.

I just cannot read all the posts but JANE I did scan yours for news. My prayers go with y ou to the doctor's next visit. With all of us here praying for you God will hear and think you best stay with us since so many love you.

A lot of email to catch up on and I can get on Skype againin another hour.
I sure missed everyone.

Be safe and be happy.

A good Sunday HELLO to EVERYFRIEND.

JANE, my thoughts and prayers continue for you more than ever.  I certainly hope the visit to the doctor will ease your stress some knowing that there are many options these days for your issue.  No one likes to hear the C word.....many of us do HATE it, and rightfully so.  Pleased to read you got to spend time with the Girl Scout Group.  Precious memories 🥰

We got to be with Dr. Dave and Family yesterday as well as youngest son and DIL.  It was wonderful to catch up with the kiddos as we have not seen them for three weeks as they have all been so busy.

I am enjoying my arm to be hanging so much!  It sure helps with my balance!  I see the surgeon tomorrow and hope all is well and I won't have to see him for 5 months!

GLORIA, so good to have you back.  Thankfully your grandson helped to get your machine up and running again.  Glad you got to see your great-grand too.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING 🦃 to you AMY, a day early.  Enjoy your meal today.

Hoping EVERYFRIEND is having a good day.

Jenny

I'm just getting in here to say "goodnight".  I've had unexpected company today.  I had barely got home from church when I heard the door and Cooper.  I thought it was Frankie coming in because she said she'd be over today.  It was my daughter, Christy from Maryland.  She said she just decided that she wanted to come up.  I suspect she wanted to see me because I've certainly got a lot of hugs today.  She's spending the night and taking off for Maryland first thing in the morning.  Frankie did join us later and we've talked non-stop all day.

JENNY, congrats on your healing process.  I bet it feels good to be able to have your arm free.  And thanks for the prayers on my behalf.

GLORIA, so good to see you here!  Isn't it nice to have a grandson who is willing and able to fix our stuff?  I think we are all lucky!

It's been a good day and I'm going to cherish it!  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Nice when the family rallies around, Jane. Your kids & grands all have big hearts.

Jenny, glad your arm is getting better... so when do you tell all?  How's your dad doing these days? I'm sure you wish you could spend time near him but life gets complicated with a spreading family, doesn't it?

Gloria, we were talking to a man at breakfast this morning (Andy, Pam & I), we all shared a love of Colorado but he ended up saying he'd rather live in AZ near the mountains than any other state. I thought of Regina & their place, I admire them for following their dream. So far I haven't found any one spot that feels like MY dream home. I do like the 4 seasons & if I was years younger would be happy living on the road, not have a permanent home to take care of or worry about.

Amy, does your gr-daughter tent camp in bear country?  I was uncomfortable with the boys using tents in CO because we did have bears come into the campgrounds & do some damage. How old is she?  Only one of my 7 grands loves camping (where did I go wrong?) Happy Thanksgiving, do you fix a turkey? I'm not planning on any "turkey day" celebration but told the kids when we have our gathering between Christmas & New Year, if they want I will do the turkey, turkey & noodles & gravy "one more time".

We've really had a downpour the last hour or so, radar shows more pumping in. Okay, Callie, you can turn the faucet off any time~~

Heading for bed, maybe one more snack?  Sweet dreams & like Lloyd says, "hope to see you tomorrow"........

Good morning everyone, up and at'em this morning and it is still raining lightly. Rotten holiday week end. My son and DIL spent the past week in NH for a vacation. They will be coming home today. Yesterday my grandson said he his wife and son were going to head north to NH today.Hopefully it is not raining there. This is the time of year the foliage should be beautiful but from what I heard on the news the colors will be late this year because of the weather. I know the maples at the end of the parking lot are just starting to turn at the tops of 2 them. Those 2 are more open to the north and that is at the end of this building and the trees near this place act like a funnel for the colder air.

AMY  Happy Thanksgiving to you and Kyle and family. Thank you, nice to know I was missed. Odd we have never met in person but still feel like a family and miss each other when one is missing.

JENNY  thanks, it was great seeing my little one yesterday. I had not seen him since Easter.  My son had told me he has been shy since starting back  to school and I sure could see it yesterday. Sure feels good getting out of tha t sling. You were in it longer than I was.

SHIRLEY  when I think of how 3 weeks aft er getting this lemon it went back to the factory.

JANE  how wonderful your sist er came to surprise you. So nice to still have sisters around.I am t he last of my siblings and the oldest any one reached. My grandson always answers my SOS when he is ready. His job is compu ters and he will onlly work on his Dad's -my son Mike-and mine. It  might  take him  time to get here but he will. When I moved here  the computers in t he library worked so I could use one of them but now the ones who did use them cannot even play games on them.  The witch will not spend money to have anyone check them. Hugs and prayers continue for you.

SHIRLEY  I am a Yankee and cannot imagine living in any other area. When my daygher and SIL  took me to Arizona I did love every thing I saw but  don't think I would like living there-way too hot  for me. Like you I want the 4 seasons and that includes  the snows of winter.

Either I am here early t oday or everyone is sleeping in.

Be safe and happy and healthy.

Like the girl used to sing what ever will be will be. Have a good day. Nancy got up and left me in bed and went by her self to her doctors appointment. Last night I was cracking and shelling hickory nuts that our oldest daughter brought to us. they are so tine I think they are not or the trouble. A neighbor Has a big walnut tree, and she said I could ick all of the I wanted. they do not use them. the sun hid and Is raining again as I am typing the post . Have a good day I will see you Later.

I woke up, fed cats & myself and seriously thinking more sleep is needed. After over an inch of rain yesterday & last night I need to open the motorhome, put the slide & awning out to dry. It does catch water in those canvas parts that open & don't want to mildew. My NEXT vehicle with the bed in (like those '40s & '50s conversion vans) will fit into a garage or not for me. I watched the Rialta age as well as this one, from the sun & all weather. Pains me... Too bad none of the big car makers realize a lot of us out here would love one of those vans again, but I checked all over the US & they just don't sell them. Dealers can still buy the E-150 but don't. Anyway, tired of thinking about it so why not some extra zzzzzzzzzzzzzs?

I thought about getting my tags for the vehicles but thought again... it's Columbus Day only called something else now, so expect all state & fed offices will be closed as well as no mail. I do not see why Columbus Day is offensive to anyone, without his "sailing the oceans" we wouldn't have an America, isn't that right? Anyone here wish that never happened? REALLY??? Picture the world without an America... would we all be dying in our 40s, go to the moon, feed the world?

Good morning..
A dull over cast day here...thought of putting a fire on but got to work and no fire needed now.

Thank you for the Happy Thanksgiving wishes. We are staying put, with Kyles compromised immune system we don't need to be in crowds.

Shirley at one time like the rest of you I would put a 30 lb turkey in the oven...not now. We have a Butterball turkey breast, and all the fixings. Dressing/stuffing will be made in the IP as it turns out so good!! A double batch will be made this time. Have pumpkin pie and whipping cream for dessert. Granddaughter is 25 and loves to camep and yes there are bears, wolves (4 legged) moose and deer. Not sure on if there are elk in that area.

Gloria, my friend and I shared a bushel of Macs and they smell like macs too!! Will make some applesauce and may can some..

Jane, that was a nice surprise to see Christy. Enjoy your visit.

Enjoy your day and stay safe!

Merry Monday,

Shirley,  we'll have to find someone farther west to turn off the faucet.  The severe storm system that blew/rained/hailed through here last evening came from the Texas panhandle and moved up toward Lloyd and folks northeast of him.
Lots of damage south of OKC but, since I live "north of noon", just heavy rain here.  I was watching t.v. with my "t.v. ears" in so didn't really notice it until I turned on outside lights and looked.

Happy Thanksgiving, Amy.
I grew up with bread stuffing for the turkey but learned to make it with cornbread as a side dish when I married a Mississippi native. Family prefers the southern kind and so it's a "must" when I go to dil's family gathering for Thanksgiving.

Gloria, good to see you back.

Jane, how delightful to have the unexpected company.  Know you've enjoyed all your recent visitors.

Jackie, I'm sure I had scones with clotted cream and jam when I was in England but the only ones I've had here were more like our cupcakes.  (Is clotted cream anything like our thick sour cream that comes in a carton?)
Southern biscuits are often served for breakfast or supper topped with a thick creamy sausage gravy - along with scrambled or fried eggs and hash-browned potatoes.
They can also be served with sorghum molasses (NOT molasses syrup like what comes from the grocery store).  My mother was horrified when my Dad taught his grandsons to poke a hole in the side of a biscuit and put in molasses mixed with butter instead of slicing the biscuit and spreading the molasses and butter over it like jam.

Off to find something useful to do.
Enjoy your day, Everyfriend.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, AMY and KYLE!

SHIRLEY, I'm with you about changing the name of Columbus day.  They could have just added a holiday for the Indigenous Personnel.

I'm practically worn out and I'm trying to keep too busy to think about tomorrow.

I hope you're all having a good day...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Callie, I still try to keep the White Lily corn meal mix on hand to make that southern corn bread. Cas loved it "fried" in a cast iron skilled with plenty of Wesson corn oil... and begged for the crunchy part if any left over. Had to have the grease "dancing" before pouring in the batter & then pop into a hot oven. A must with beans & ham... my mouth is watering... and his Mom always made fresh coleslaw & sometimes potatoes boiled in beef broth and or green beans fried with onions. She was just as apt to pull a skillet of fried chicken out of the oven to go with all that other, a wonderful cook but we always came home "with zits" on our faces from all the grease she used. I never would have thought of green beans & dried beans at the same meal, but was a meal to remember. No sugar in her cornbread, for sure, and only white cornmeal. I love to eat good food.

Sweet dreams, got one more meal to feed the cats & something for me & off to bed. It is nice & cool with the door open right now.

Callie...from what i gather is clotted cream is made from skimming the cream from the surface of the milk...there is a difference between both, only clotted cream is used for Devonshire - Cornwall cream scones....

Good morning everyone, another cool cloudy one here again. Seems like the sun wakes up after noon lately. That is the forecast for today again. Was dpwn to the upper 40's when I got up this morning. Today will be my las t day for the CNA I have been getting and Yvette gets here t omorrow. Will be good  to get her back. BUT next  mont h she sill have a knee replacement surgery. She will be out again. Fran-the one I will have today- I had before Yvette s tarted coming here.

LLOYD  like you I have nights I cannot get to sleep so next day I mostly lay on the couch watching TV and dozing on and off all day.

JANE  I wish you the best  of everything today. Hugs and prayers for you.

AMY  my Mom made French dressing-hamburg and mashed taters-, my MIL made chestnut  dressing and I learned  to make that,  too. Chestnuts are too costly these days to buy, lot of work, too. I no longer cook a turkey, leave all those big meals to my family now.

CALLIE  I never tried making cornbread but  I do like eating it.

SHIRLEY  I used  to love ea ting good food and had a good apetite but now I could go all day without eating and still not be hungry. Any wonder I weigh 80 pounds?

JACKIE  will miss Rammel's posts. Prayers all goes well for him.

Time  to get into the shower and then have breakfas t.

Have a good day, stay healthy and happy.

I'm keeping you in my thoughts today, Jane, and thinking only positive ones for you.

Happy late Thanksgiving Day, Amy.  Your celebration meal sounded perfect!

I was born in Fort Scott, KS, and raised in Ottawa, KS, but my mother cooked mostly Southern.  Cornbread NEVER had sugar in it!  Heaven forbid!  I was surprised when we moved to New York and discovered their cornbread was sweet.  I never got used to it even though we lived there for 27 years.  And, I agree, a cast iron skillet pre-heated in a hot oven is the only way to bake cornbread.  It gives that lovely crisp brown crust and soft inside.  My husband's family never put sugar in cornbread either so we were compatible in our marriage.  ;D

Adding Rick to my good thoughts and prayers.  And, there is always enough left-over for anyone who needs them.

Take care, All.

Good Morning,

Amy, cornbread mix in a box has sugar in it.

My mother-in-law would grease her cornbread stick pan with Crisco and put it in the oven while it was heating to about 400º. Then she put "some" (she never measured) self-rising cornmeal in a bowl, broke an egg into it and turned on the hot water. She would move the bowl in and out of the hot water while stirring until "it looked right".
Her cornbread was always crisp on the outside and absolutely delicious.

She had promised me the cornbread stick pan but it wasn't there when we cleaned out her kitchen after her death.  I suspect I could have found it in her granddaughter-in-law's cupboard but it wasn't worth the effort to get fussy over.

More stormy weather due in later today and overnight.  One forecast is for this area to get it between midnight and sunrise.  May be a short night!!!!

Prayers for everyfriend with concerning issues and  :smitten: for all.

This weather is unbelievable ,almost 70 °  here now and sunny!!

Just talked with Jane and she has to have surgery, doesn't have a date yet though. Prayers and healing thoughts are needed.

Callie, I enjoy cornbread...sweet. Haven't had it any other way but willing to make some just for the cornbread dressing. My friend gave me a recipe for cornbread muffins and I try not to make them too often as they are delicious...betcha can't eat just one!!

Lloyd, our turnips didn't amount to much this year but I did buy some and canned them.

Phyllis, thank you....the best part of a dinner is the leftovers which we will have tonight.

Gloria, was there any bread in the dressing? My friend liked water chestnuts so I put it in the dressing one year and he enjoyed it. A little crunch in the dressing.

Good evening, EVERYFRIEND.

I have been thinking about and holding good positive thoughts for you all day, JANE. I am sad that you have to undergo another surgery, but we want you to not have ANY of this C left in your body😡. Continued thoughts and prayers 🥰

Thank you AMY for the update on Our Jane.😩  We certainly want her to be clear of this awful C, so this surgery is necessary.  Your Thanksgiving meal sounded yummy....glad you two and the pups enjoyed it.

JACKIE, sorry to read that you have heard from RAMMEL and he won't be posting.  Positive thoughts and prayers for our friend. Thank you for sharing this news.

Loved all the comments about cornbread and how it is fixed, etc.  Cornbread was not a big thing in our family when I was growing up.  We did have it with ham and beans, but it was never fried in grease as it cooked, and it DID have sugar in it! We did not have cornbread dressing either, always dried bread.  My hubby, a southerner did grow up eating cornbread, and cornbread dressing, of course!

CALLIE, I am sorry you did not get the cornbread stick pan.  Bob and I can relate to that having been promised something and it was already gone.  Nothing to be done about it, and your right not worth a fight over. Let this be a warning....if any of us want someone to have something of yours , either give it to them NOW or make sure it s written in a will.

GLORIA, yippee your Yvette is back! Happy, happy for you!

SHIRLEY, I, too, still think about your little motor home.  I know you loved it.  We wish we had been the lucky person to buy it😩😩. My dad is doing about the same. Sure wish I could travel to see him.  Hopefully soon.

PHYLLIS, good  to see your post.  I did not realize you were born/raised in Kansas.  My mother was born in Kansas also, however she was not happy about it.  My grandfather worked for the Rio Grande Railroad and he was sent to a very remote location about the time my grandmother was due to deliver.  Grandma went home to her parents in Western Kansas, and my mom was born😘
I had my 6 week check at the surgeon yesterday and he was pleased.  The X-ray showed everything was in place.  Will see him again in 6 more weeks.

OK, I still can not tell ALL, yet, but I will say that a son and his family are going to be  moving to Colorado !  YEA!   We are thrilled to death.  As many already know, our youngest just moved out of CO!  WE have had this happen once or twice before!   In addition, while we were with them we were told the wonderful news that a new little one is on the way.  So those of you who guessed these two thoughts are the WINNERS‼️

Peasant dreams to all. Good morning, JACKIE.

Jenny, I'm thrilled with your news & thank my "lucky stars" that both my boys live near & my daughter comes to visit every couple months (if not oftener). So happy to hear of another baby. My mother taught us all her life that "the best thing you can do or give your child was a sibling". I believed her and see how much my 3 mean to each other. How I wish you had been the one to get my Rialta, did I tell you how much that crook stole it for?  He knew I was in no rational condition that day we came to pay & pick up the new one without ANY price on the Rialta for trade. If ever someone got "screwed" it was me that day! They are no longer in business so that is some satisfaction (not much).

Jane, I am so sorry you are facing more surgery, hopefully you caught it early and that will be the end of this trial. You know my prayers & thoughts are with you.

Callie, we also found some things missing when my parents died, things I am positive neither would have given to anyone. Dad spent his last few months in a nursing home & a nephew & wife stayed in his home during those months, but before he went in several people stayed with him & had access to the room where the items were kept. I feel certain that anyone that took them has been punished already and not by the family.

About the sweet & fried cornbread, quite a difference & took me a while to appreciate the white & fried kind. We didn't have cornbread often & think the Jiffy mix was only kind Mom fixed. She made wonderful bread & rolls but I don't even remember eating beans often. I know Cas' mother made fresh churned butter & the buttermilk went into the cornbread & biscuits.

Better close this down tonight, we are expecting severe weather after midnight, even a tornado watch & high winds. The power line has some tree limbs that could cause trouble so better get sleep while I can. I really don't want to think about hail since the new roof on house & RV was put on less than 3 years ago, BUT this is Kansas!

Hugs to all, God Bless and give all of you a peaceful night. I loved June's saying about "turning your worries over to God, he is awake anyway", I have her real quote somewhere but not on this computer...

Hello Everyfriend!  Beautiful day in Central PA today!

OH, JENNY!  I'm so happy for you getting some family close by and adding another little member to the family!  What fun that will be.  And congrats on the healing process on your arm!

SHIRLEY, take care if the bad weather hits close by.

About the cornbread...we had lots of it while I was growing up.  My mother made it and my grandmother made it.  I don't know if it had sugar in it or not but it baked either in a loaf pan and sliced or in muffin tins.  I wasn't a huge fan and my husband didn't like it at all so I didn't continue to make it.

Sorry to hear Rammel isn't going to be around!  I hope whatever it is that will keep him away will be short!

I do have to have more surgery and it isn't going to be easy but I have a surgeon that I trust partly because I was impressed with his time with me and partly because my other surgeon that I've had for a couple of years said that if she needed what I do, he's the one she'd want to have do it.  There's a surgical staff meeting tomorrow and after that I'll know when the surgery will be scheduled.  My daughter, Cindy, is coming this Friday from Oklahoma for a week long visit and he said that it will not be until after that.  I have not seen her since the pandemic shut down cancelled her last visit and I wasn't about to miss this one!

It's not easy to talk about this right now.  I thank you for your prayers and please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.  I know you all have an "IN" and HE hears you!

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Good mor ning every one 51 now and supposed to get to 73 for a high. Just checked daughter 's area, 38 there. Cold early there this year.

LLOYD  my son planted  turnips this year and I expect  to get a few of them when he digs  them up.

CALLIE  my daught er has one of those cast iron cornbread pans. Have no  idea if she puts in sugar or not. My Mom never measured anything when she baked, a handful or a pinch, Regina does that with some things she makes often. She is named after my Mom and does some things like her, too. She was only 7 months old when my Mom passed away so she never knew her.

AMY  just enought bread added  to the chestnuts to help hold it  together with some melted butter. Those chestnuts were cooked before peeling, only way to get then peeled was when they were hot so no crunch to them.

JANE  just read Amy's post, so sorry you need more surgery. Prayers will continue for you.

JENNY  nothing would make me happier to have my dughter and her family move here but I know that will never happen.

SHIRLEY  hope t hat  bad wea ther never made it  to your area last night.

JACKIE  good morning.

Have a good day and be healthy and happy with God's love.

A little story about "cornbread".  My mom could do awesome cornbread. She was one of those "throw a handful of this, and two pinches of that into a bowl" and come out with perfection.  Anyway, I don't know if she ever put sugar in her cornbread.  I know when I made it (without Jiffy to help) I put a little bit of sugar in.  Now to the little story.  Mom and I had this wonderful, black friend who would come and stay with us on the weekend.  She was NOT a maid, housekeeper, baby sitter.  She was a real friend.  She would make what she called "hot water cornbread".  I think it would probably be classified as "corn pone".  White cornmeal, hot water, and have no idea what else; then fry it up in a skillet.  It was never greasy, but I loved that stuff so much, and couldn't wait for her next visit.  I never tried to make it, just let the memories live on.  (however, if anyone here knows how to do this, I'd be willing to give it a try!)

Frankie worked late tonight and she's off tomorrow.  She's coming over anyway so Cooper is spending the night here and she's getting some much needed rest.  I'm off to the haystack.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Good morning..

We were off and running yesterday, bundled all the items we had to go to Sally Anns and took off. Great day for driving as it was overcast with a call of rain on the way.
The list we had was long but one by one we knocked each off the list! Our stop at SA didn't pan out.again. They are now closing their doors for good so off to another place that did take it all.
We were two pooped puppies and yes we had those also in the van with us .

Jane, have fun with Cooper today..

Gloria, if time permits applesauce will be made with some of the macs.

Jenny, boy, that sure makes your heart smile to have family live close by. Now a wee baby to hug along with the rest!!

Shirley, you are right, family doesn't have to punish, the man above will have the last say.

Bubble, thank you for the recipes....both look interesting.

A lot didn't get done yesterday in the home so today is it......better get started.

Enjoy your day and stay safe.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's extremely foggy this morning and not supposed to leave us until mid morning.  I'm glad Frankie doesn't have to go to work today.  That road she drives can be bad on a foggy day!

Actually, AMY, I'm not spending the day with Cooper.  Later this morning, Frankie will be picking him up to go to the groomer and then she and I will hit WM.  Right now, he's still snoozing in bed.  I'm going to have to go shake him loose pretty soon.  It's way past his breakfast time.

I hope you all have a good day today...better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow!

Good morning everyone, not quite 7 yet and already in low 60's. Crazy temperature  this fall.
When I was talking to my daughter yesterday she was dressed in layers, Tshirt and sweatshirt, my SIL had his flannel shirt and jeans on.

TOMEREADER  I don't remember my Mom ever making cornbread. Only time I made it was back when the box of Jiffy was only .10cents. One DIL got a recipe for cornbread  that called for a can of corn and she made it. Was so bad she threw it out for the birds and other critters who eat anything.

BUBBLE  if I could still bake I would  try one of those corn bread recipes. Sadly none of the CNAs I have had can bake or are cooks, even Yvette "bakes" cookies for her grandsons, the kind sold in a roll, refridgerated and sliced and baked. When she tells me she baked cookies I ask =from scratch?= and she says yes. I just look at her and she laughs.

JANE  I pray you are no t worrying too much, really does no good to worry, as June used to say leave  it in God's hands.

AMY  I have no idea how  the SA stores are doing here, been a few years since I have been near any of them.

Have a good day and stay healthy and happy.

Those recipes are for what we called Corn Cakes, Bubble.  I suppose you could just pour in the whole bowl of batter, Tomereader, though I've never tried that.  Just watch it that it doesn't brown too much before you flip it and brown the top.  It's good but it's not corn bread, IMO.  Corn bread needs to have buttermilk, preferably, or milk will do instead of hot water, and with or without sugar.  We all grow up calling the same things by different names.  In the Northeast these corn cakes are called Hoe Cakes.

Take care, All.

This was sent to me and yes it is a long read but a good one. Grab a kleenex!

In Phoenix, Arizona, a 26-year-old mother stared down
at her 6 year old son, who was dying of terminal leukemia.
Although her heart was filled with sadness,
she also had a strong feeling of determination.
Like any parent, she wanted her son to grow up &
fulfill all his dreams.

Now that was no longer possible...
The leukemia would see to that.

But she still wanted her son's dream

to come true.

She took her son' s hand and asked,
'Billy, did you ever think about what you wanted to be once you grew up?

Did you ever dream and wish what you would do with your life?'

Mommy, 'I always wanted to be a fireman when I grew up.'

Mom smiled back and said,

 'Let's see if we can
make your wish come true.'

Later that day she went to her local fire

department in Phoenix, Arizona, where she met
Fireman Bob, who had a heart as big as Phoenix.

She explained her son's final wish and
asked if it might be possible
to give her 6 year-old son a ride around the block on a fire engine.
Fireman Bob said,

'Look, we can do better than that.

If you'll have your son ready at
seven o'clock Wednesday morning, we'll make

him an Honorary Fireman for the whole day.

He can come down to the fire station, eat with us,
go out on all the fire calls, the whole nine yards!

And if you'll give us his sizes, we'll get a real fire uniform
for him, with a real fire hat - not a toy -- one with the emblem of the Phoenix Fire Department on it, a yellow slicker like we wear and rubber boots.  They're all manufactured right here in Phoenix,
so we can get them fast.'

Three days later Fireman Bob picked up Billy,
dressed him in his uniform and escorted him from his hospital bed to the waiting hook and ladder truck.
Billy got to sit on the back of the truck
and help steer it back to the fire station.
He was in heaven.
There were three fire calls in Phoenix that day
and Billy got to go out on all three calls.
He rode in the different fire engines,
the Paramedics' van,
and even the fire chief's car.
He was also videotaped for the
local news program.
Having his dream come true,
with all the love and attention that was lavished upon him, so deeply touched Billy that he lived three months longer than any doctor thought possible.
One night all of his vital signs began to
drop dramatically and the head nurse, who believed
in the hospice concept - that no one should die alone, began to call the family members to the hospital.
Then she remembered the day Billy had spent
as a Fireman, so she called the Fire Chief and
asked if it would be possible to send a fireman
in uniform to the hospital to be with Billy as he made his transition.
The chief replied, 'We can do better than that.
We'll be there in five minutes. Will you please do me a favor?
When you hear the sirens screaming and see the
lights flashing, will you announce over the
PA system that there is not a fire?
It's the department coming to see one of its finest members one more time. And will you open the window to his room?'

About five minutes later a
hook and ladder truck arrived at the hospital and extended its ladder up to Billy's third floor open window --
16 firefighters climbed up the ladder into Billy's room.
With his mother's permission, they hugged him and held him and told him how much they LOVED him.

With his dying breath,
Billy looked up at the fire chief and said,
'Chief, am I really a fireman now?'

'Billy, you are, and The Head Chief,
Jesus, is holding your hand,' the chief said.
With those words, Billy smiled and said,
'I know, He's
been holding my hand all day and
the angels have been Singing...'
He closed his eyes one last time.

My friend would do that, even let me try it, patting out the pieces with love! Thank you again!  Have to check now and see that my cornmeal is still fresh!

Shirley, please do send it on. I lost my cousin to leukemia...she had just turned 8 yrs old.

We had a good day so to speak ending it with a little excitement that we could do without. Kyle wanted to remove a log cabin and shorten the board that it was sitting on. All went well , I had just moved everything to the other side of the shop when I heard a commotion.........he fell.  Missed the last step on the ladder and down he went! After checking him out to make sure nothing was broke  I helped him up. When he fell he popped both hearing aids out when he hit his head.  Didn't dampen his humor and he said the floor broke his fall........ MEN!!!! Gosh !!

Patricia,, where are you? How is the renovations coming along?

Oh, what a scare, Amy, but bet he will be a little sore & stiff tomorrow. Does he take any blood thinners?  Got to watch any fall/internal bleeding if so. Tell him bubble wrap will be the NEW fashion if he isn't more careful~~

I went to Walmart to get their cheapest cans of salmon for the cats, out but some due in tomorrow, so went on to the dealership to get the first oil change for the Encore.... it has 2 recalls & one is a 2 hour update to the radio so they asked if I wanted to come back in the morning & they will bring me home (in my car, of course) & pick me up in 3 hours (2 for update & hour for oil change & free car wash)... better idea so anything I did today I get to do over tomorrow. After they pick me up I will head back to Walmart & sit there until they unload that salmon! These cats are living pretty high on the hog with the raising prices!!!

Better get something to eat before bed time, no sleeping in or going back to bed in the morning. The cats need a lot of time to get organized & have breakfast & even tho I have clothes ready to jump in, takes some doing to move very fast. :-[   Hey, maybe a nap while I wait for them to fix the car.... plenty of jobs waiting to be done.  ::)

Sweet dreams & God Bless, wishing everyone a restful, peaceful night.

Boy, I'm tired tonight!  Frankie and I did a WM run and I'm all stocked up for company.  Cindy is probably in West Chester, Pa right now.  She was getting ready to board her flight around noon today.  Her daughter lives in West Chester and is going to college there.  Her plan was to spend the night with Courtney and come up here tomorrow.  I haven't seen her since the pandemic shut us down last year!  I'm ready for a visit!

She's been working from home for the past three years and she's bringing everything she needs with her and staying until after my surgery and will work from here.

Frankie and I did a WM run this afternoon and I think I got everything she needs to be comfortable here.

AMY, I loved the little Fireman story.  And, like Shirley, I had tears in my eyes.

I copied the cornbread recipe, too, BUBBLE.  Don't know if I'll have time to try it but it actually sounded good to me.  And I've never been a fan of cornbread.

I'm off to the haystack a bit early tonight.  I think I wore myself out tonight.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Good evening, EVERYFRIEND  ‼️

I went to the pool this afternoon...it was FABULOUS....rode the recumbent bike.  Then in the pool for an hour then hot tub.....more of a work out than any physical therapy I've had. I probably will be good and sore tomorrow, but feel quite good right now‼️. Did not swim per se, rather just moved my arms and legs....was able to stretch my sore leg real good.....big marching steps!  It was so great! I am feeling really good about it😘

GLORIA, oh I know how happy you would be if Regina and her hubby would move to RI.  Now we have both the left and right coast covered with 2 sons, and 2 sons here in Colorado.  Feeling pretty blessed🙏

JACKIE, I hope you enjoyed the afternoon fun session about things we grew up with!  What did you end up taking?  Sounds fun.

Good night and pleasant dreams to EVERYFRIEND.  Good morning to you, JACKIE, when you come in.
