Well folks the Democrats have finally lost it all.  Even got all the ding bat celebrates doing commercials wanting the constitution ignored.  And everytime Trump makes an appointment they go a little more bonkers.

Obama has managed to politicize every part of government, including our intelligence agencies.  The Donald sure has his work cut out for him to clean (drain the swamp) all these lefties out of government.

No doubt about it folks, we elected the right person to get this country back to what we knew as the United States of America.
Of course, it is going to be so strange to see Obama leading all those demonstations down Penn ave.  And demanding that safe zones be created for the snowflakes.

Ain't this fun? Reading how Billary is bribing Obama and the press brings joy to my heart. I post responses to Trump on Twitter, I hope he reads them.

I can't wait until Do Nothing Obama is gone and we never hear (hopefully) another word from Billary.

The states telling Stein to shove her recount was a joy to behold.

Phew. We dodged a bullet with that one. Hope they go back to Chappaqua and stay there until Doomsday.

I received an email from Kelly, asking me to please copy and post the following message on Norm's B&T, Soda Shoppe and the Games Board.

Dear S&F members

It is over four months since I posted on seniors and friends, because of health issues.  When I am able to return I cannot say, but in time I will post again if on a much reduced basis than I used to.

I now live in the United Kingdom in a community helping with health matters.  Replying to members by emails is not possible at the moment for me because of these health matters and my inability to use voice recognition.

I am unable to access S&F as I have lost my username and password.  If anyone has asked about me, I thank you.

Thank you, Marilyne, for the information on Kevin.

Hal, while I may or may not agree with her or your post or even others here, I do not agree with the way posts are made if rude. Yes we all have issues of some type,  and we seldom all agree, all the more reason to be considerate of others and especially if they are not here to defend themselves.

Well said, angelface.

I hope Kelly is okay, and I look forward to his return and his responses to these cruel posts about him and the defense of cruelty against him.

Oh, and for those boo-hoo'ing poor Halkel, check out the political board. He has been cruel for years, hence the quelle surprise.

Well, I think JeanneP has every right to express how she feels.  And a lot of what she says I agree with.  Kelly hated to be disagreed with and he and I had some words over his thoughts and my thoughts on different matters.  I have nothing to apologize for nor does he, should he ever desire to return to this forum.  Yes, he as well as others have disabilities.  Many on this forum have disabilities, including myself.  Some from birth, others from old age and deterioration of bodies.  That is life, like it or not.

At any rate, I don't think JeanneP's comments are cruel, just what she feels and I support her right to say it.

With Kelly, I don't think there is anything wrong other than he wasn't getting the attention he wanted from everyone. After all he posts what. 3000 post in 2 months. We all do less in years. Think he was thinking that when he asked or said something that everyone supposed to answer. Saying Goodnight. Goodmorning does not mean we all reply. That is not what these kind of Forums work like.
Also we have had many people drop out without knowing the reason.  They just find different ways of communicating. Some of us even got E-M from him wanted to do it this way. Again we do that with very few people that we talk to daily in a Forum.
I don't think his medical was anything that would have him going into hospital for. Let just hope he is being kept busy doing other things. If he feels like coming back he will

JeanneP, what a very cruel post.

MaryPage, just a few minutes ago Pat commented on how thankful she is to have her easy chair as can find comfort in it.  It is motorized so will recline and go back to normal position with a switch on the side.

Larry, I can empathize. Hubby has spinal stenosis and cannot sit in a 'comfy chair' or on our 'comfy couch'. He is comfortable only in a hard backed chair. Epidurals and possibly, hopefully not, surgery are in his future.

Awful stuff, back and leg problems. In his case, comes from 50 years (and he's only 65) of working on cars. There's an 8mm of him driving a Crosley (!) when he was 10 or so.

Since Sunday, Sarah had been going downhill, not eating and lethargic but drinking a small bit and eliminating that small bit. Today I took her to the vet and her signs were poor. They did fluid and blood work, Xrays and ultrasounds. Her abdomen was full of blood and white blood cells so they did exploratory surgery.

Her liver had a tear in it and had blood and fluid leaking out. They have no idea what happened, nor do I. They took a small bit of the liver by the gall bladder and sewed up the tear but she simply wasn't coming out of the anesthesia and her signs were poor so we decided to let her go.

I already miss her so much.

I am so sorry, Patricia. These little creatures fill our hearts with their unconditional love, they leave such a hole when they go.

Be comforted that you did all you could for her.

Kelly, I pay an admin fee every year, so in actuality there is no free lunch. Plus, all banks get to use your money and don't pay enough interest anymore, so again - they win.

But thank you Mary Ann, you gave me the push to cancel all my auto pays. True, I have to do more work each month, but it's worth it not to again go through what I did with Verizon and Frontier. Plus, all of this fuming and fussing is fun.

The payments I have taken from my checking accounts are all utilities.  Others, I authorize the bank to send checks and I write down all of the info they give me, especially confirmation number.  All are on a one-time basis.

JeanneP, thank you for the information and I’ll look into it â€" or have Tom look for it.  This is for a full screen.

Deedee, whenever I’ve renewed magazines, they have always extended my subscription from the end month.  I have not had any trouble with renewals but I am discontinuing two subscriptions because it is getting harder and harder to read the fine print, also the white-over-gold that they sometimes use.

Mary Ann

Thanks, MaryAnn. I used to have it set up where I sent the check via my bank. Think I'll cancel all my direct pay and go back to it. They've had use of my gravy train for long enough.

These are all car magazines, and I'm betting it's one company in charge of all the subscriptions.

Larry, before Windows 10, when I would send something to the printer, the printer would come on and print.  When I installed Windows 10, my printer would not work.  Tom got it going by adding “Copy 1” to the name.  Then I found I could not print individual labels; I could print an entire page, but not singles.  With this new Window 7, it sends things to the printer, but I have to get up and turn on the printer.  I can store stuff on the printer until I’m ready to really print it.  That’s my “printer tale of woe”.  I am having trouble with the computer in that the copy suddenly goes very small, so small you can’t read it or much larger than necessary.  It’s done both while typing these paragraphs.

I have more problems with my computing and printing equipment and those frustrate me no end!!!

Mary Ann

MaryAnn, have you tried as I suggested to Larry? That is exactly what I had to do to get the printer out of sleep mode, but when I escalated, one of the chat people finally instructed me on how to get past the 15 minute sleep setting.

MaryPage, I have had DirectPay with just about all my billing companies, and fully dread the day I have to turn any of them off. However, I think the problem with Verizon and Frontier was the manner in which this sale took place and the alleged notification. There was a direct pay 'opt out' notification sent in a letter, not an email, and I usually do not take much notice of letters from Verizon. As I informed the low-lives at Verizon, the option should be to 'opt in' not 'opt out'. They cared not.

In addition, THREE MILLION customers were dumped on Frontier Communications - google their name to see the trouble they are having, their stock has dropped like a stone - and they were ill prepared for the switch. I am luck to have got out when I did and, hopefully, as bloodless as I hope to have done.

Oh, and yes, I've learned the hard way about the renewal boondoggle. Hubby gets magazines and starts to get renewals three or four months before the year is up. IF he renews (we've done it once) before day 1 of the last month of the year, the subscription starts immediately and he is hosed out of the additional months. Of course, until I start my campaign of harassment against management and then they quickly acquiesce. As I noted, I cannot imagine how someone not well versed in computers gets through their normal workday.

It's all about the money and all companies are evil.

Sandy, in my dotage I now sport a near crew-cut and happily leave the razor and scissor and razor scissor (I'm the only one my hair guys uses it on) and shears to my hair guy. I think he uses a #2 blade on me and my dog is a #1. Or vice versa. ;D

Hi everyone.  I have had a very frustrating couple of hours trying to get my laser printer to print what I want and not so to sleep all the time. What should be simple isn't anymore.  Then the other Inkjet printer doesn't want to work.  Our son will be over later this afternoon and I will see if I can get him to get them set up so when you send something to the printer it actually works.  We had a very nice Sunday.  Today I will go to a meeting in a little bit and then play it by ear.  I don't have time to write more this morning as want to get through all of the discussion boards before I leave if I can.

not go to sleep all the time............... HAH! Larry, you hit upon the MAJOR bone of contention I had with my new inknet HP. I assume you mean that it goes to sleep all the time?

Forgive me, I'm sure I've shared this latest frustration already.

I guess some idiot in corporate thinks everyone wants to save energy with their home printers, when it is being diddled away by corporations and countries the world over.

It took me two tries, with two chats, and an escalation to the VP's office - they were about to give me a new printer - but I got a noisy printing issue (take out the ink cartridges, put them back in, yeah, that makes sense) and the sleep issue resolved.

The digital (I hate it) setting panel specifies a top time of 15 minutes before it shuts down. Rather than reading the book or researching, I contacted the third world country chat people and was told, "oh no we can't override that 15 minute limit". Never believing that all the chat people are given the same education, I contacted another chat person and was told "oh of course you can override the 15 minute" and he showed me how. Easy peasey.

I escalated to an HP person before I talked to the above chat person and she had someone call me and walk me through the ink change out for the noisy printing. Meanwhile, my previous printer lasted 10 years, I give this one 3.

Western Joan, my issue since April 1st with Frontier has finally been resolved. Yes, it was legal that my bank gave Frontier my private bank account information for their automatic invoice payment, because this is what happens when one company buys the client list of another.  No, my bank couldn't do anything on my behalf, I had to call Frontier. No, Verizon couldn't care less because they already had passed on all my information.

Yes, Frontier had already processed two of my bills, the billing payments being collected in advance, and even though I canceled my service on April 8th, I had paid through April 19th and was assured by one person on the phone AND her supervisor that my account had been canceled, my auto pay had been stopped, and my overpaid money would be refunded in 2 - 3 billing cycles.

HOWEVER, I then received an email that my account was AGAIN being debited for ANOTHER cycle, and I lost it. I went to their annual report, and their website, and wrote to the CEO and to every single email I could find on their website, mostly press people. Oh, and I had been pitching a fit on Facebook and Twitter to no avail.

Well, this last did it. I got an immediate response, on a SUNDAY, in the form of an email and a voicemail, telling me that my account had been canceled, dating back to April 8th, they gave me a confirmation number, that my auto pay had been stopped, and that I would be getting my overpaid money back to the 8th.

I'll believe the latter when I see it, but the auto pay does show as canceled, as does the account.

Now, my question? Why did it take ALL this to get a resolution to an unethical problem that shouldn't have been created in the first place. And what happens to someone not driven by the devil who might have given up in the face of idiots in corporations?

So, Larry, don't give up. Write and call everyone you can, chat over and over and over, and I bet you too will find someone who tells you how to override their stupid sleep button. On the problem with pages not going to the printer, the chat reps have a handy capability of remotely taking over your computer to solve driver problems. Good luck.

--Do you keep something with you to eat to get your blood sugar back up when you get that sinking feeling?

Larry, I've had the television (fault of the cable box, fault of the so-called 'smart' tv, who knows) turn off on me at odd times. If all else fails, and I've taken to 'chatting' with Samsung or FIOS (I never call, the phone tree dries me bonkers), they usually have me unplug from the wall and wait, then plug it back in. A hard restart, like a computer.

Technology is SO brilliant now, isn't it? Yeah, right.

Yes on the gardening, although I wish I could say I could stop myself completely from doing this and that. However, at least now I know what motions are going to cause agonizing pain.

I tried a Brother laser printer, and wasn't thrilled with the idea of toner. I then switched back to an HP printer, after my first one had lasted 10 years (obviously this one won't) and found that it would shut off all by itself in the interest of saving power. Now, since I couldn't care less about saving power, I 'chatted' with one rep. He said there was no way to override. I then escalated to corporate and in the meantime 'chatted' with another rep. Oh sure, he said, just hit this, this and this on the (now digital) screen and override the shut off. So, the reps aren't even given the same education. Isn't that great?

I've avoided those live animal cams since the one I tried with hummingbird babies. I was furious when the mother abandoned the babies and the aunt was abusing them. The monitor said they couldn't intervene until the very last. Well, they finally did and the babies were saved. I think it's BS that monitors can't intervene, and hope someone helps the baby eagles before they die. Nature is cruel, but humans are more cruel.

I only have moderate low blood sugar, but have to eat every few hours or I, in my words, "zone out".

Morning Larry, I am just about to go out to do a little yardwork. I do mean little, my arthritis only allows for about an half-hour before my back starts giving me fits.

It's interesting, isn't it MarsGal, what we think the human body can endure? But can't. Athletes are witness to that. I've been gardening - heavy gardening, digging and moving boulders out of the ground gardening on about a 1/4 of an acre - for 25 years. Never mind that most of what I've paid for and planted has died, that's another story, but this year I'm done. Well and truly done. Not because I want to be or because I'm not too stubborn to have tried ONE more plant that might not have died. But because I have developed arthritis in both thumbs, and even a gentle nudge of a trowel into the earth makes my eyes cross with pain.

So now I walk around the yard and watch, as more plants die and can't be replaced. And of course I won't pay to replace them, because landscapers are crooks. I know hindsight is 20-20, but were I to do it over again? I would have bought a condo instead of a house with a yard.

But hey, it could be worse.

It seems to me more and more companies are trying to pressure their customers into using direct payment from your bank account.

Faster and quicker, MarsGal. Faster out of your bank account and quicker into theirs. It's all about money, everywhere you look.

Plus, as is the case with Frontier Communications, even though I canceled services? The money had already been debited and now I have to wait (2-3 billing cycles, I was told) for a refund of the money that they shouldn't have been paid.

Again, the reason Anderson Cooper was disinherited was because he asked his mother to do so. He felt that he had enough of his own and did not need hers as well. I'm sure he told his mother that he appreciated the thought however. And that may be one of the reasons they are close.

He spoke of this with David Letterman after he first came out.

I understand, but were I she, I would have refused.

Come the day the others go through their unearned fortune, they will probably go to Anderson for help. He, being a nice guy, will probably help them.
