Cool Shirley ...

I would have to have a 3 wheeler,
because of my vision..  I give anyone
our age credit for bopping around on
a bike.

You know the rules and breaking something
is not an option.

Have FUN!

Good Morning Everyone,
from the still coolish and overcast,
rocky coast of Maine.

IMHO,  step ladders are useless,  to me.
They put me up just high enough,
so when I fall,  I certaining will
fall hard and break something,
if not many somethings.

I have a 7 foot ladder that I purchased
for anyone who might come to my apt
to help me ....

I don't use it any longer.

Regarding cell phones??   I
believe that everyone who is
driving needs access to a cell
phone.   Handy right next to them
in the car.   Never using when
driving.

Just in case something goes
wrong....

I have a smart phone that  I use
for my everyday phone and I just
got a landline (Just in case something
happens to my cell phone)...

As you all know I also have
life Alert,  which I highly recommend
to everyone.   Mine is just for
around my apartment.

I hang my cell phone around my
neck if I go out with out anyone.

Fun to see how we all live..
and why we choose to live
that way...

Everyone is an individual and
we all have different needs.

Thank you Larry for letting us know the
bad news about Pat Scott passing.   That is
very sad.   We have known Pat since the
beginning of Senior Net.   I will miss
her.

Also thanks for letting us know about your
experience with  Hospice.   I know that they
will be a great help to you and Pat
as your journey continues.
I will miss you,  also ....   oh dear !

Good Morning Everyone from the
overcast but Spingish Rocky
Coast of Maine.

I have found that by going to
the front page of Duluth Harbor,
I can see many boats that have
arrived in the last couple of days.

It is very convenient because I don't
have to go looking right away.

And I see many that I might have missed.

The link that I use is in the my
signature below.

Good Morning Everyone from the sunny
but cool and partly cloudy, rocky
coast of Maine.

Regarding Recycling.
Here in my building, they do not
encourage recycling,  as it  has not
been set up  (yet) to be able to do that.

I am in the process of switching from
regular trash bags to the new green ones
that are suppose to be biodegradable.  I
am doing this slowly as my old ones run
out.   Green is the new me!

Our grocery stores now encourage
using our own bags which have
been recycled from plastic refuge.
I have many of these.   Where I have my
groceries picked up they use brown paper
bags to transport my order.

So slowly I am changing to be able to
do my part to the greening of America.

It is so sad when we lose a beloved
animal.

Another weekend is upon us.
Everyone,  enjoy your day as much
as possible.

My hair is much better today
than it was when I was growing up.   It is salt
and pepper now with most of the Salt on the sides
and top and alot of pepper underneath and down under to the back.   The top is Silver..  I started cutting my own hair years ago because I never could find a professional that knew how to cut it.  My hair is straight and I do use thinning shears to help it to have more body.   I use good shears that are very
sharp.

I have learned many a painful lesson
through the years by snipping my own skin
on my fingers.   (Now I wrap them with tape
when I use the sharpest shears)  :uglystupid2:

I also wear a lot of hats,  so I
don't fear making a mistake (which
SI have a few times..

Hats hide everything !!! And keep the sun off.

Good Morning from the overcast and
cool, rocky coast of Maine.
No sunny or better weather in sight.
To bad because May is usually a
great month weather wise ....
But not this year.

Good to see that you are feeling better
today,  Larry,  and that Pat has found
a way to wear her hair that is easier
for her to deal with.

I cut my own hair,  twice and year,
and yesterday I did my Spring Cut.

Cutting my own hair is a mild stone for me,
since I lost my vision a few years back.
But I manage to do it and it usually comes
out pretty good.    It is short and easy
to take care of too.  But of course I am
always a little bit anxious when attempting
to cut it myself.   Yesterday was a good day
for hair cutting.

Have a good day,  Everyone..

Good Morning Everyone, from the
overcast and cool rocky coast of Maine.
It looks like it is going to stay this way,
between overcast and rainy for the next week or two.

May is going to be a rainy one.

I  hope that Larry will drop in and let
us know how his day was yesterday .. .

Good Morning from the cloudy
and cool rocky coast of Maine.   Not so much sun today but the weather is warming up.
I am not complaining because there will
be enough time for that when the HOT weather arrives
this Summer.  Usually starting in June.

Larry,  I am glad to see that you do have
access to a wheel chair.   Hopefully it will
be one that you can move around with.   Even though
you may have to rearrange your furniture to accommodate
it.

Making the decision to use one must really
be difficult for you.
But try to keep in mind that your passage through the next few years will be easier for you when you do not have to worry so much about falling,  and can sit and enjoy your daily duties with out having to heal from broken bones.

This is what I would worry about.   I bet that
there are exercises that you could do sitting in chair that would keep your leg muscles in shape.
Just a thought,  Larry.    You know yourself
what  you need to do.   Good Luck  and take care.

Good Morning Everyone...
It is sunny here this morning on the
rocky coast of Maine.

Larry.....

Why don't you get your self a wheel chair so
that you can  get around with out falling
for a while.

I know it is not fun to think that you must
have one,  but falling is  much worse and so
far your luck is holding and you have
not broke anything... (cept blood vessels)  ..

I am talking wheel chair and not scooter..
something that you can sit in and get around.
perhaps electric would work best.

Just my thoughts for you to help
you heal ...

Hugs

Fe has just turned three years old this week....  And is just growing up so fast.

She is a friendly happy girl...  Her Mom gets her out into play groups etc and volunteers at Nursing Homes,  so she is very well rounded.

Plus three of her Aunties and her Grand Mother live right next door.

She is growing up so fast, of course...

many many days.   And so it goes.

Larry,   good to see you this morning..  And

very big deal.    Congratulations!

All is well here for me..  I have been having
a series of testing since the beginning of the
year and I am very pleased with all of the
results.

I call this my 75,000 mile checkup,
now that I am 75 years old.

Sandy, you are the "free spirit" that has amazed me how well you adjusted to a completely different life from what you had a few short years ago. I am dead serious, your acceptance of leaving the road to find happiness and satisfaction, accepting even giving up your drawing.... I am speechless and realize I am not letting loose of my freedom nearly as gracefully. For sure, it takes lots of strength to do what you have done. Sincere compliment.

Shirley  ..

Thanks so much. I reached a point
that my only choice, if I wished to keep
on living "stroke free", was to follow
my Cardio's instructions..
Fortunately the meds she has me on
are acceptable to my body.

I do question her each time and
she is very good at keeping me
informed and up to date on
my AFIB condition. (Which is doing well
right now on Coumadin. )

Lucky for  Coumadin is very very
affordable.

My limited vision is what has taken
its toll on my socializing etc these days.

I prefer not to go out much (one day a
week with my daughter Kelly)..

Since there is nothing I can do to improve
my vision,  I am resigned to making the
best of my world while I still can.  And
I am grateful for what little central vision
that I have left.

If I struggled  with the "cards I have been
dealt" , then I would become very depressed
and give up.  ( Which I am not ready to
do right now! )

Thank you for your nice response to me.

I hope that  you and your body can
work things out so that you do not
have to continue this struggle that
you have to contend with.

Good Morning Everyone,  from the
overcast, and sometimes rainy,
rocky coast of Maine!

I have had strokes because of my Afib,
and depend on blood thinners
(Coumadin) to live and
prevent more strokes.

Shirley ...  We all have to make decisions
about how we are to be treated as we age.

And the blessing is,  some of us are still
able to make those decisions for our selves...

I wish you well and give you credit for
doing what you believe is correct for you.

Good Morning from the
warmer but overcast,  rocky coast of
Maine.

Yes Mary Ann,  Fe is growing up.  She
is such a joy to have around.

As I age, I may seem callous and cold
to those who do not know me personally.

But a lesson that I learned many years ago,
is for me not give  the care of my heart
to those who do not appreciate or deserve it

Best wishes to all and anyone who
are suffering today.    Hopefully
in the near future the sun will
