Good Morning Everyone from the clean but cold,
rocky coast of Maine!

At 7 AM this morning the fire alarm system went off
and of course woke everyone up.
Fire trucks etc came,  but they all left
and the alarms finally shut down.

Considering that there are over 150 apartments
here, it is not surprising with an occasional
fire alarm goes off...

It is good to know that it is working!

Have a good Saturday,  everyone!

ShirleyN...  glad to see that you are handling
the treatments so well....  Best Wishes to you from
me.

Hugs

Good Morning Everyone from the colder,
still,  rocky coast of Maine.

I spend most of my day listening to
movies and series on NetFlix, Prime, and
Acorn and Hulu  etc.   And less time
on the computer.

I do follow  MSNBC  daily to keep
up with what is going on in the
world politically,  (from my  point
of few)..

Things change so rapidly that
it gets confusing if I skip much.

My old friend Vicki and I talk
"politics",  but we are cut from the
same cloth,  so it is fun and not
frustrating.

Have a good day,  Everyone,  and don't
take any wooden nickles.

Good Morning Everyone from the cold but
sunny,  rocky coast of maine.

I think that the problem posters are having concerns
the "Quick REPLY"  option that is at the bottom
of every page.

Which give the false impression that there are no
more posts to read...    when often there are many
more pages of replys to read....

I don't use "Quick Reply"  but instead
just click on "reply" button that shows up .. only
after I have read all of the posts ...

So sad that we are loosing posters because of the
problems that have come with this new soft-ware.

Good Afternoon (almost here on the East Coast) from the sunny and cool, rocky
coast of Maine.

I use Almond Milk all of the time...
I store it in my refrigerator and if NOT OPENED, it will stay good for a very long time  (many weeks?) ...
But, once opened,  it should last 7 to 10 days.

I have never had my Almond Milk go bad and I
suspect that I might have used and open carton
even longer the 10 days.

Spoiled Almond milk looks funny,  smells funny and tastes bad,  so I always check when in doubt.

I am allergic to dairy products (not necessarily "lactose intolerant" but
dairy products,  cheese,  ice cream, yogurt  and cows milk etc so
almond milk is a must have for me.

I find that not eating daily is difficult...
There is no substitute for good ice cream, and  good
yogurt, and fabulous cheeses.    And I miss not having them... But almond milk really satisfies my thrust for regular ole Cows Milk.

And for that I am grateful.

They do sell non dairy ice cream, and yogurt..
but they are so calorie laden that I only try them
occasionally ... I have never had a non dairy
cheese that satisfies me.

Have a good Saturday,  everyone..

Good Article Angel....  I feel time fleeting  faster
and faster every year..  So it is good to
understand why!

Good Morning Everyone,  from the slightly cool,
and cloudy rocky coast of Maine.

Just another Blah Day, to go along with
all the other Blah Days that we have
been having this late fall.

Of course this is pretty much par for the
course here in Maine.

All is well here except I am "fighting
off" a miserable cold....  "fighting off"
is much better version of said cold!

So I am grateful for feeling OK.

Have a good day,  EVERYONE!

Good Afternoon...

Larry, yes... living in the corner apartment
on the main street in the arts district of
down town Portland is well worth the trade
off of my having to put up a few cooler days
inside my apartment.

As I have mentioned before, I grew up in
an eleven room Farm House that had a
"one pipe furnace  (coal and wood)"...
I slept at the head of the stairs on the
second floor,  so the heat from this old
fashion furnace,  alway made it up to my
room....    My father would get up early
before work and stoke the furnace so that
by the time the rest of us got going
for the day,  our house was warm enough...

I always sleep better when the temps are
on the low side.     Of course,  we always dressed
for the occasion.  And never really
suffered much from the lower temps.

Today is pretty much the  same.

Have a good day, everyone.   And may
you all be very comfortable no matter what
the weather.

Sandy, do you have tumbleweeds in Maine?

Good Morning from the warmer and rainy rocky
coast of Maine.  No need for extra help with
the heat today .....

On Tumbleweeds

We don't have them  here in Maine...

Like cowboys, wagon trains and buffalo,
tumbleweeds are icons of the Old West.
These twisted balls of dead foliage
rolling across deserts and the open range
are staples of Western movies and the American imagination.

But the truth about tumbleweeds isn't so simple.
They may be romantic symbols of our national
love affair with the Wild West, but tumbleweeds
are also invasive weeds called Russian thistle,
and many modern-day Westerners fear they're
taking over.

How they got here

In 1873, Russian immigrants arrived in South Dakota
carrying flax seed that was apparently contaminated
with Russian thistle seeds (Salsola tragus).
Once sown, these invaders from another continent
quickly sprouted, unhampered by natural
predators and diseases to keep them in check.

Each winter after Russian thistle plants die,
the brittle bushy parts snap off at the roots
and blow away, dispersing seeds wherever
they tumble (about 250,000 per plant).

Good Afternoon Everyone....
It is hard making changes,  but
we can do it.  We just have to  keep
trying ....
Not sure what is causing you to make
mistakes typing,  Jean....  Keep working on it...    Are you sure that you didn't spill
something on your keyboard??  To make it
sticky and hard to type on?

Good luck in finding out what is your problem......

Good Evening from the warmer
but wet rocky coast of Maine.

June ...
I am so glad that you have been
able to find relief from your itchy
skin using cooler water when
you shower....

I have to work into it gradually, too...
Initially warm but then I drop the temperature
before I finish up.     This does make a
difference when my skin is itchy.

Have a good weekend,  everyone...

blows dropping the wind chill factor.

Good Saturday Afternoon.

I also like Danielle Steel books
to listen to when I go to bed
at night.    I set my timer to 1 hour so I
don't miss much if I fall asleep.  When
I wake up for my night time stroll I
set the timer again and go on listening.

Good Saturday Afternoon...

It has warmed up here considerably...
and this warmer weather is suppose tot hold
for a while...

So I can start pealing off my layers
and let my body breath again.

I like the idea of decorating with
tumbleweeds!     Once I figure out
how to prevent bugs in them  (if they
in fact do have critters hiding out)...

They would be fun to paint different colors
and add holiday lights to them...  always
fun to improvise and make use of what
we have available to us to make
decorating fun and somewhat cheaper.

It is 3:30 now and by 5:00 or sooner
the sun will be gone for the day.
(I do not like these long "Winter Nights",
but have to make the best of them.

I often buy and wear "Men's Clothes",
as they do cover more of me and I like
the way they fit.

Have a good night,  everyone..

I am prepared for when the temps are very low
and the winds coming from the North/East/west
are high.

The down side of living in a "corner" apartment,
with a great view of the Main  Street here in the
city of Portland Maine.

I am prepared for these days and
hopefully we will not have too many
of them this Winter.

But, of course, one never knows..   I would
rather it be too cold then too hot.   Because I can
always throw on another layer.     I really hate
the heat.

All is well.

Good freezing cold morning here from the
rocky coast of Maine.

Inside I woke up to a temp of 52 deg/f.

So I have put on layer of clothes.   (Some wool)..
I have my electric kitchen stove turned on to 450
degrees,  and my little heater right here next to
me ,   and slowly my living space is warming
up.

Tomorrow the  temps are suppose to get more
back to normal with out the wind chill factor...

Daily record low and coldest Thanksgiving temperature records were set at Portland and Augusta. ... November 22, 2018.

Yikes...   Soon to be better I hope.
I am SAFE....
