Happy May Day, to everyone!   It's a lovely one, here in the Santa Clara Valley.  Clear and sunny, with a brilliant blue sky and a temperature of 72 degrees at 11:00 AM.  The only problem is that we have now entered full drought mode, and will now have to start water conservation.   That means conservative watering of outside plants, and turning the lawn sprinklers off.  We won't have to get that drastic yet, but it will be mandatory by sometime in June.

Sandy - Did you consider getting a portable air conditioner?  I'm thinking seriously about getting one for the bedroom.   We have central AC, but the house is old and not insulated,  and the bedrooms face West, so our AC slows down considerably in late afternoon and evening.   I've been looking on Amazon, but can't decide whether to get one or not.   I'll probably make up my mind fast, when the first heat wave arrives!

Mary Page - I ordered the Curad bandages from Amazon, so they will be arriving sometime over the weekend.   I'm looking forward to trying them for my dry mouth issue.  Like MarsGal, I also have a problem with my nose getting stuffed up, so hope that will not be a problem?

Callie -  I hope your hummingbird returns today for some fresh syrup from your feeder?    I've seen lots of hummers this Spring, so far, even though we have nothing blossoming in our yard.  They used to like the large Bottle Brush, next to the birdbath, but unfortunately it did not survive the Winter, so we removed it, except for one thin branch.   I  think it died from old age, and not from lack of water.   It was there when we moved into this house in Spring of 1971, so is well over 50 years old now!  the house was build in 1960, so I assume that the original owners planted it the first couple of years they lived here?

Mars Gal - Looks like you're doing well with getting all the things started in your house that need doing!   You've inspired me, but I doubt we will accomplish nearly as much.   Also good to hear that you had no problems with your first vaccination!   Our younger daughter Sandy, got her first shot this past week also.   She got the Pfizer vaccine, which was the only one offered by Kaiser Health Care.  She was hoping for the J&J, and would have opted for it if it were still available.

Patricia - I know I mentioned a while back, that we like to watch the HGTV show called "Buying Alaska".  It's about families or couples looking for a house to buy, in different areas of AK.   Some in the cities, and others want to be as remote as possible.  Your mention of the gardeners being unhappy with no Spring sunshine this years, reminded me of something I've noticed when showing houses in the outlying areas.   A large number of homes have greenhouses.   Some are heated, and all have lights to simulate the sun.  When the buyers walk through the greenhouse, I always notice the large selection of veggies  growing inside.  Beautiful tomatoes, and lots of different berries and every possible lettuce, cucumbers, et al.

Jackie - Glad your lift/elevator is working, so that you have freedom to come and go.  I've heard that Spring is a lovely season in England, so it would be nice if you could get out into a park or somewhere where you could enjoy the beauty.

I'm getting writers cramp, from this endless message, so best I stop now and hope to be back soon!  Just realized I've been sitting here for an hour!  :o

MaryPage

Well, I just learned the hard way that you cannot write half a post in here and then leave it to check something else out and come back and find your post again.  It has left this planet!

When Judith said I should tape my mouth with a bandage, actually she said band aid, as everyone does, but that is a brand name, and to the best of my knowledge, they don't have a mouth tape available.

But hey, I've discovered a lot of people DO!  Don't try that Sominex one this dentist recommends. That is one of the many I tried previously, and they DO NOT STAY ON.  They are expensive as all get out, are actually a set of lips in barely flexible plastic with some, but not enough, stickum on them. And the box of them dries out completely before you have used half the box, so then they won't stick any longer AT ALL!

Never the less, my sense of honor tells me you can probably search for MOUTH TAPE and find it.

Here's a dentist who suggests mouth taping,  It is obvious he gets paid for promoting Sominex lips, but they all do that sort of thing on their own websites these days.

Marilyne, on a normal year in the Interior (Not the coastal areas), you cannot plant in the ground until Memorial Day, so lots of people get started early with greenhouses.

There are two reasons for our larger, more vibrant vegetables and flowers. One reason is our 24/7 summer daylight, at least thru August. And two is after we started getting alien plants, bugs, and animals from elsewhere, they made it a law that it's illegal to use plants or seeds from outside the state.

And they are religious about eradicating alien plants, yours or wild such as the Siberian Larch that some people had planted. That tree's root system goes everywhere and kills other plants and trees' root systems.

Alaska also made it a law that the only plants and seeds sold in the state must be propagated within the state with appropriate labeling and provenance.

"ALASKA - If tales about 138lb cabbages, 65lb cantaloupes, and 35lb broccoli stalks sound far fetched to you, let me introduce you to the growers who put these produce giants on display at the Alaskan State Fair.

It's "definitely a freak show," the Alaskan State Fair's Crop Superintendent Kathy Liska told NPR. "Some things [are so big], you can't even recognize what they are."'

HAPPY MAY DAY to ALL.  Oh for the good old days when we would find a little basket of flowers on our porch on this day💐💐 Of course we would do the same for others too😘

This has been a busy and crazy week.  Thursday I had the MRI on my good shoulder.  I dreaded it as I am extremely claustrophobic....I found this out a few years back when I was having my first MRI... it did not help when the tech said," it is going to be extremely tight in there.....GREAT 🥺 Thanks DUDE!  I made sure I got my eyes closed before I was rolled in and I kept them that way!  It was 40 minutes and I kept my mind busy thinking about how many of these Michele has done.  😩

The results of the MRI appeared on my medical page very quickly.  When I read the details I just knew it was not good and surgery was again in my future😢😩😤  Tear / tearing appeared a lot in the report.  Yesterday I received the doctors summary and even though it is not a very good scenario, I will not be facing another shoulder surgery immediately. They hope they can get me through for awhile with some cortisone shots.

Yesterday I had a appointment with a new diabetes doctor.  I was slipped in a "before the regular patient day started", I was told.  Kind of a meet and great one.  WELL.... one hour and a half later the doctor moved on to his normal scheduled patients.  He did not rush one bit and seemed quite intrigued by my situation.  Moral of the story is he said I am not a diabetic....the past years have been nothing but a very clear picture of other docs pushing this diabetic drugs at me, and they are more than likely the cause of my weight gain over the years.  He took me off of one pill and no more insulin for me at all!

There is a in house dietitian and she had a opening a couple of hours later if we could wait.  I called my PT lady and she was more than happy to slide my work out by one hour.  So we got to meet with the dietitian for one hour also.  She was very pleased with our current eating habits so that went very well also.

My PT time was great!  Tara, my gal is wonderful. We did our PT stuff and then she turned into my masseuse. She said I deserved a extra little treat after what all I have been through.  After sitting in the doctors office with my arm sling cutting into my neck for 4 hours she massaged my neck and shoulders...my poor arm that still has bruises and extremely sore and my incision.  It was fabulous.  She is one very sweet lady.

Michele was moved to acute care yesterday evening.  She is still on the same campus.  Dave had to do a lot of calling and dealing to get this accomplished over just skilled nursing.  She has PT three times every day and with any luck she may be able to get home by next weekend, Mother's Day. 🙏🙏

I am sorry I took more than my fair share of space here....

I hope you all had a good Saturday.

Jenny...
...oh those MRI's i was under one of those 3-4 weeks ago, no fun...good you got your results straight away, i am still waiting to hear about mine, my chasing up phone message has been ignored, re, my PP-MS progression..
Sorry to hear it was not a good result due to tearing's and you are facing fresh surgery to repair " good shoulder " sometime in the future...again, not good news you want to hear over the Bank Holiday period...If there was any encouraging news, it was that you are NOT diabetic..that alone is cause for celebration, if only to shut those medics up who have been trying to push unnecessary drugs onto you intimidating that you are...

Oh i was hoping to hear Michelle was now home, not still in hospital...if they have any heart, knowing SHE is a MOTHER, they will allow her home for Mothers Day, not disappointing the children...

MaryPage

Jenny, I am interested in every crumb of what is going on with you, and I am sure everyone else in here is as well and all. I do wish I could make it all better. Well, you got around as swiftly as a skateboarder back in 2001 in Pennsylvania, and that is the way I remember you. Hey, I did, too!  The here and now is a different story.  I have one motto I feel extremely strongly about, and I think it is needed in too many medical situations these days. It is this: each and every one of us old folks should make every attempt to have an advocate with us to question what is being done for us and to make certain everything is being considered with the goal of keeping us alive and comfortable. I have one daughter & two granddaughters who are nurses and one granddaughter who is a speech pathologist and spends a lot of her time with old people. It is deeply ingrained in our species to tend to be dismissive of our age group. We seem "past it" and dimwitted and a waste of time & effort.  Sounds like Jenny really got lucky with that doctor!  Years ago, back in 1990, I think it was, I literally saved an aunt's life once!  The experience still makes me shudder.  She was a patient in a very highly ranked hospital and about due to be discharged when I went for a routine visit.  I noticed she exhibited a symptom that had led to serious circumstances for her two years prior to this hospitalization, which had nothing to do with her currant situation.  She had had a serious stomach problem leading to an over 7 hour surgery previously.  I went and spoke with the head nurse on her ward, telling her what I observed and referencing the problem and the surgery. The nurse was shocked that she had not known of this, and looked up my aunt's record, as it had all taken place in this hospital, a place where my aunt had actually worked!  It was not in the record!  The surgery and all was just not there!  But the nurse was able to garner some information from some other source, and Bob's your uncle, my aunt was in ICU as quick as a wink and there were doctors and nurses all over it and they confirmed she had the problem back again and she was fixed up and lived a few more years.  I mean, it all made me feel as though I had been tackled in a football game!  It still does.

Things fall through the cracks.  Medical staffs are overworked and have families to get home to, yet stay after their paid hours to get paperwork caught up on.  My sympathies go out to them, but I also think they need to insert a tad more training re not allowing themselves to own automatic dismissive reactions to their older patients.  A lot of them could do with some retraining of those built-in, primitive notions of the uselessness of the elderly.

patricia19

Unfortuntly, MaryPage, it is not only the elderly that is pushed aside or not listened to. And hospital policy is behind much of this. Many hospitals are run on a for-profit, corporate system, and time is money.

I am so glad that these types of hospitals and insurance plans are illegal in this state. Not to say hospitals and doctors here don't have their own grave issues.

Sandy - Did you consider getting a portable air conditioner?

Marilyne..

I have been contemplating the portable
AC's for a long time,  but the man at the Appliance warehouse said that they
no longer sell them because they tend to be noisy and cumbersome  and do
not do as well as a good Window AC.

I chose to buy another Window AC made by Friedrich ...
They will deliver it next Saturday and haul away my old
AC.  Plus my daughter does business with them and if any
thing goes wrong,  they will take good care of me.
I believe that the service will be better dealing with
our friendly Appliance Warehouse.  And
that their advice regarding a portable AC for
my situations would be better.

I also make sure that I have my daughter with
me when I go to a specialist ..  and WE talk it
over together before I go under the knife.

Since I am on a blood thinner "operations" have
to be absolutely necessary,
Messing with my blood thinner is always foremost in
my  mind.  So having Kelly  along being my
advocate is very helpful AND  necessary IMHO.

Jenny - Good to hear that you found a good diabetes doctor, and that he stopped your old meds!  That is a rare thing, when a doctor actually removes a medication, without prescribing something newer and stronger to take its place!   I think you'll feel a lot better overall, without those meds.    Also sounds like your MRI looked bad, but the doctor wants to wait and see, before  recommending  surgery.   So looks like you now have two good doctors!    Also, keeping my fingers crossed, that Michele's radiation treatments, will work, and the she will be going home this coming week.

Mary Page - I have so much to say about Senior Health Care here in California, and most of it is not good.  No serious complaints from me personally, but mainly that here in overcrowded California, there aren't enough doctors to take good care of the masses of humanity.  It's the seniors who don't get adequate care, or who get no care, and fall through the cracks, so to speak. The main thing I want is to find a doctor who will listen, who will care, who will ask questions, and who will remember you the next time you show up.  Unfortunately, those caring docs we remember so fondly from the past, have all retired here in my part of the country.  We now have to settle for the young ones who have replaced them. Not nearly the same, and not nearly as good, IMO.    My husband and I don't have an advocate . . . meaning that no one in our family works in health care, or knows any more than we do.  So we have to do the best we can to advocate for ourselves and for each other.  I truly believe that Once you pass age 80, you are no longer of interest to the doctors. That's why they prescribe so many (too many) meds.  They just want to get you out of there, and move along to the next patient. I guess they figure your days are numbered anyway which is true of course.

I should add, that one specialist,  the dermatologist,  loves to see us oldsters!  The waiting room of the dermatologist's office looks like the lobby of a retirement home!  Seniors have so many skin problems that need attending to, that I can't even begin to list them all!  I only know that Medicare covers everything, and we pay next to nothing, and we get good care and treatment.  I'm extremely grateful for the care they have given me, as well as my husband.

Sandy - Thank for the information on the, window vs. portable, air conditioner.  I will probably end up not getting either one, and may just opt for a fan to move the air in the back of the house.  Before doing anything, we should call an HVAC person, to come in and see if there is anything that can be done to improve our the flow of AC throughout the house.  That's the "common sense" solution, but I'm afraid they will say we need a whole new system.

Denver

A good rainy/snowy evening from the Mile High City.  We are really getting a wonderful soaking👍

MARY PAIGE, IF only I/we could still be the capable persons we were 20 years ago!😘  I think your motto is spot on.....we all need someone to be our advocate these days in your lives. I am in awe of your story of saving your aunts life.  Very impressive that you were
able to recognize symptoms that were indicators of the serious stomach issue that required the original surgery. Wow😍. I agree with much of what you have expressed regarding doctors being over worked for the most part. I know first hand how my own son has spent many more hours of his own time as he attempts to keep up with his work load with his patients.  Many doctors are not allowed to spend any extra time with the 15 minutes allotted.  That is why I am shocked at the amount of time this doctor that I went to could possibly spend that much time.  We have lived in Sun City Arizona and I think medical care in those communities is even more concerning regarding most caregivers not really wanting to help this aged group to stay comfortable and have some longevity.

MARILYN, I totally agree with the points you have made as well. For sure the dermatologist are happy with us old folks!

SANDY, be glad your daughter lives close and can go to medical appointments when needed. Sadly, many live away and have no one to be there for them.  I am definitely blessed to have a son that lives close as I am able to ask his opinion about any medical needs and know that he will look out for our best interest.  I am thankful.

Michele is working her heart out with her PT team.  She is still so weak, but Dave said she will not quit until she nearly drops.  The team met today to talk about her progress so they could make a guess as to when she might be strong enough to go home.  They will talk to her tomorrow.  Unfortunately the intern came in tonight and said that it would probably be 5/21. This was not well accepted, needless to say.  Dave tried to calm her down saying they must wait for the official word from her team.  They are extremely upset that their Thursday meeting with oncology has been postponed AGAIN, three weeks in a row.  They know the cancer is spreading rapidly and she has had no chemo treatments for much too long.  They just do not understand WHY this happening😩😢

It is bedtime as I have had a few interruptions.....I made sure to save this elsewhere so I would not loose it.

Pleasant dreams to all.

Marilyne...sadly told yesterday when lift repairman came and spoke to me as i was in conversation with our lovely new onsite resident manager that sadly our one lift can not be repaired...It is now a third time during the past one or two weeks it has been out of order...My elderly opposite neighbour told me over the years they have had so much trouble with this one lift, even being out of order for months...Lovely manager told me there is no other place to place a lift nor any other alternatives as to a type of stair lift can go, think he said due to being the fire escape exits, a previous manager had one taken out..Whoever built this building 1980's  did not have safety for the aged and disabled in mind...I also feel for the two floors of residents that are above me...I am on the first floor of four floors...Our poor manager must be wondering why he took this position on, ( his wife has just given birth, just three weeks ago, they are living on the top floor of our building )...he showed me the photo of their new-born baby..[/b]

Jenny, I am so sorry to hear about the delays in treating Michelle's cancer. This is not good news at all.

Jackie, are can't they dismantle the dead lift and put in a new one in that space?

This morning I watch the sun rise at Rio de Janeiro. It looked lovely, but got me to thinking. There is so much red/orange in those clouds around Rio and Sao Paulo. Is that smog? I hardly ever see red skies here anymore what with all the air quality improvements and all. Two days in a row of completely socked-in fog at Sao Paulo, but the planes still go in and out. Can't even see the airport and plane lights through the fog in early morning. I noticed that at both places the clouds hang low and at times the clouds reach down to cover the top of Sugarloaf, so maybe Sao Paulo gets covered in clouds too. Clouds or smog or a bit of both?

Bubble, since I've been watching the Rio and Sao Paulo airport cams, I got reminded of your friend in Brazil again. He only posted a very few comments in the library forum. It is rare to find someone posting here or on SeniorLearn who enjoy reading SciFi and post comments. I don't think I got a chance to find out what kind of SciFi he likes best. It is always interesting to me to see what others are reading and what they think about the stories they read.

MarsGal...
...he is back working on it again, i have just spoken to our on-site manager a few minutes ago, it was explained to me yesterday what the lift issue is, so unsure if a dismantling-new lift is feasible, anyway leave it to the experts to solve this matter...this is not a busy or active place, one rarely sees anyone...

...do protect your mouth-throat-chest from your fog, and its more damaging smog if it ever reaches you...Oh and how do those aircraft pilots manage to fly through it...i should imagine they say a prayer as they are approaching, and another prayer when they get out at the other end, i know that i would be...

...yay, lovely in house manager has just knocked my door, our lift is working, but he added with that positive-negative looking smile, as to for how long he doesn't know...told me a new lift would cost 60 thousand pounds and it hits our pockets, or my landlord opposite pocket...
... mind you, i am still going to be a tad nervous now in using it, especially when my folded traveling mobility scooter goes inside it with me, the extra added weight as it is a one person only lift, removals in and out have to use the stairs....Anyway enough said about our current lift situation...
" There is no present like the time "

MarsGal

Fingers crossed that you lift continues to work, Jackie.

We get air quality alerts when we get high rates of pollen or other pollution. It doesn't happen very often. While the US is number two (at just about half of China's output) in regards to greenhouse gas air pollution, it is way down the list in particulate matter air pollution.

The pilots are not exactly flying blind since they rely on their instruments to tell them exactly where they are and for landing and taking off in foggy weather. Many of the planes that fly in and out of Sao Paulo and Rio are regional airlines, so they are used to it.

Vanilla-Jackie

MarsGal...
... you hit the nail on the head...yes those pilots are used to it and prepared for it..

MarsGal, I went through a marvelous period in the nineteen fifties & sixties of reading Science Fiction.  That was The Golden Age.  I found it all quite wonderful, with Fred Hoyle's THE BLACK CLOUD the best of the lot.  Then SciFi began to be too much Fantasy for my tastes, and I gave it up completely.  I read about three non-fiction books to one fiction these days.  I do love the Aunt Dimity series, and just read the 24th book last month.  The thing is, I am a crotchety old lady who does not like constant cursing or blatant sex or people being rude and unfeeling towards others, and these things describe most current fiction in a nutshell!

patricia19

I needed to get several things done today that I could no longer put off. I had a 1:30 pickup and return scheduled with Senior Resources, Volunteer Services and got a call less than an hour before that they were short a volunteer, and I got the short straw.

I called a taxi and headed to the outside and the chairs set up by the parking lot. That trip was a painful throbbing that I could have done without. Then the cab was an SUV, but I managed. Of course, the store didn't charge all the riding carts, so I waited 20 minutes in the entry.

Since this was my first time driving, there were a few close calls, but I managed not to run over any displays or unfortunate bystanders. Everyone was super helpful, even those leaping bystanders, and I managed to be in and out in less than an hour. Of course, the return cab was also an SUV, but I led with my right side, and it worked.

I discovered some things today, I could now go outside on my own and that the pain was more from sitting than standing. Even walking and return riding the elevator wasn't as painful as it was going down initially. I wonder if I should have incorporated earlier exercise? Perhaps my healing is further along than I thought? Was I a whiner?

Anyway, no more depending on stressed-out agencies!

The sun was out today; no more snow and birds and insects enjoyed the sunshine with me.

MarsGal

Hah, Patricia. You might be on to something there with the exercise. I sadefinitely notice that if I don't move around enough, I get stiff at the least and sometimes pain. Of course, all that makes me not want to move, but that tends to make things worse when I do. Ain't arthritis fun?

Somebody is being a comic, I think . While checking the Marine Traffic site I saw that one of the Coast Guard search and rescue boats at Port Huron had listed its' destination as Disneyland.

Marilyne

Good evening everyone.  Just a quick hello to all who checked in here today.  It was a busy day here, so as soon as I get the kitchen cleaned up, I'm going to watch a new episode of "Home Town", and then an early bedtime.

Mary Page - I like that intriguing book title - "The Black Cloud".  I'll add it to my ever expanding library order list.

MarsGal - Interesting that one of the search and rescue boats on Port Huron, is heading for Disneyland?  D-land is inland from the ocean, about 10 to 15 miles, so I'm really curious has to what that is all about?

Jackie - My daughter is on the third floor of her apartment building, and her elevator/lift is also very small, and is in the process of being repaired again this week.  I talked to her this morning, and she had just carried two heavy bags of groceries up the three flights of stairs!  I don't even like to think about it!  :yikes:

Jenny - I feel so bad for Michele, that her doctor doesn't want her to go home yet.  :(   Mother's Day, is Sunday, so I hope Dave can bring the kids to visit her?

Marilyne...
...saying a good morning ( 6.am here in UK,  i am up, had my first mug of tea ) it must be your bedtime so saying a goodnight to you, and sleep well..

...Yes we dont always think of the consequences when moving into our new home whether a permanent home or a temporary home, do we...the what if's, if the lift breaks down-is out of order, not even asking that question of " is there more than one lift in the building, " and so forth...As for me, i am now frightened of stepping into our lift, particularly when with my folded up travel mobility scooter, its extra weight, as no allocated bay outside for it, and of course it is a one person at a time only lift, so our pinned to the lift notice informs us...

I so feel for your daughter, she got herself out using the lift, expecting to take the lift back, your poor daughter had no other choice but to walk up those stairs, it was either that or leave the bags of shopping in the car...

...I remember my lovely Indian friend telling me that she got stuck in our lift not that long ago, she was by herself...she told me she wet herself, thats how frightened she was...

I am a scaredie-cat when it comes to elevators, so I don't want any more to do with them than is absolutely necessary.  My usual encounters with them are when keeping medical appointments.  I could not possibly, being the total coward that I confess to being, live with one.

Marilyne, I would be extremely surprised if your library has that book.  It is old, old, old; and generally, unless it is something that sells the size of Gone With The Wind, libraries do not keep books that long.  It is not, however, out of print.  Hoyle was one of this planet's best known astronomers back in the day.  He worked out of Cambridge, and was a Sir in England.  A Yorkshireman. As far as I know, and what do I know is the question, but seriously, as far as I know, this "The Black Cloud" was his only ever work of fiction.  I expect he wrote it for fun, but also to show that sci/fi writing could be serious and not all flamboyantly fantastical. I find that Thriftbooks has it, and that, Surprise!, Barnes & Noble has it even cheaper.  I did not check Amazon.  I think they made a movie of it, but again, I cannot trust my memory these days. It is a quiet little book that satisfies the heart and makes you think. I believe it was this book that made me realize that while the signs used to represent numbers will be different on every planet with intelligent life on it, the concepts regarding those numbers will be precisely the same. What is, is. From that dawn in my head, I came to appreciate that the whole universe can basically be explained by numbers. In short, you can be on a planet a billion miles away, and still have to take Algebra. Seriously.

Hoyle was, unlike the majority of astronomers of his day, not a promoter of "The Big Bang Theory."  I admired him hugely, but was and remain to this day an adherent of The Big Bang. I even like watching repeats of the TV comedy show. In case you have never tuned it in, it had a run of 11 years before it closed down because the lead wanted to try some other acting. Basically, it features 4 geniuses who are geeks or nerds or whatever the correct word is for them. Those repeats run all the time on many channels. I think of it as my lapse into silly brain.  There are some great actors involved, though.

Well, I am thrilled to have learned tonight that The Black Cloud is still in print.  Who knew?!?

Morning all. The sun is shining. That is promising. I see mowing the front lawn in my very near future (after the dew dries off). I spent the last two days reading, so I really need the exercise.

SN15 landed! This time Elon Musk's Starship make a good landing. Except for the fire from a leak, that is. They really have to find a fix for that.

My hair really, really needs cut and there are a few other things I need to do that I am putting off until after the 2nd shot. Getting excited to get out and get some things done that I have been putting off.

Greetings from an Interior in late Spring mode, with lots of catching up to do! This is the third day with passing showers, so I expect the greening to show up in the second week, but when have these climate change years been predictable?

My leg went back to painful for an hour or so yesterday, which proves the theory of my osteoarthritis having a new area to plague. Otherwise, it's obviously better and better.

I'm working with Farrah, and greed is a good stimulant with her. She will take a hard dental treat from my caged fingers without a nip. She will catch a soft throw in her mouth, perhaps six or seven out of ten, and she will sit and remain that way so I hold a treat for her. It's a good thing she can't read this, or I'd end up with something unsavory in my bed... ;D

MarsGal, my osteo at present, is closely linked to the current barometric pressure, which strikes unpredictably. I have felt it in my nasal area, just above my right elbow, my left thumb and hand area, and in my fingers and toes. And now in my left leg.

One good inadvertent part in all this is I lost the twenty pounds my then doctor requested I do back in January 2017! When routine appointments become available again, I need to find a new arthritis doctor. I also need a haircut as I again resemble that Buster Brown character.

I rarely read science fiction. My reading tastes are mainly historical, both fiction and nonfiction. I have read some science fiction, such as the Dune series. I love to look at space photos and read about the why and how of its theories. I'm not that drawn to aliens and space fiction altho, again, I liked "Deep Space Nine" when it was on. So, I guess if it's historical in nature, I'd like it.

Last year, I was in one of our elevators when it decided to go on a tangent and went up and down on its own. I was finding it hard to breathe. I was scared for a while and jamming that red button. However, no one answered before it stopped on its own. So, perhaps someone did?

They were out the next day, testing both elevaters.

Good morning.

How could I have possibly missed the fact that MOST of my post from last night is missing?  Only the ending is on here😩😢

We are going to have a beautiful day, so I hope to go with Bob again this afternoon to pick up the boys and possibly go to Grandson Matt's lacrosse game.  We have been invited to have dinner with Dave and the kiddos as Dave's life long friend is having Lou Malnati pizza delivered from Chicago for their dinner tonight‼️

We have cable repair coming this morning to hopefully fix a on going and very annoying internet problem.  Also have PT coming too.

Have a wonderful day  🌹
