Monday evening HELLO‼️ This past week just passed so quickly.....PT 3 times a week and swimming when I can.

We did drive up to see Jonah, his mom and dad on Saturday.  He is so proud of his new home and had to show us all around. It took us one hour and 10 minutes to drive there but 3 hours to get home with  traffic and a accident on the freeway! Ugh😩  Sound familiar, CAROL?

Yesterday was Bob's Birthday, so we went to Dr. Dave's for a fun dinner and party.  Always fun to be with the family and friends.

So pleased to read Jane and Phyllis are both improving and may be able to leave the hospital soon! Hope and pray MARYPAGE is doing as well too.

Bless all of our group that are suffering.  My heart aches for you, Beverly.  I know you miss your life partner, Chape. Two friends passed this last week, and one cannot be but sad to know how hard it is for the remaining spouse to go on.  I watch my son trying to do his best to be mom and dad to his three children....

OH MY GOODNESS......MARYPAGE‼️ I am SO HAPPY to see you posting!  Continue to be strong and feel better ❤️‍🩹

Enjoy the week to come....and pleasant dreams‼️

Thank you, Jenny.  And I am so happy to hear all the good news coming in about your wonderful sons, as well and all.
love to you, always
I have such great memories of you & Bob in Williamsport.  Oh, to be able to hop back those twenty years, huh!  What did those wonderful singers call themselves: the Dim Ditties?  Something like that.  P.Roe led them, and Katie was one of them.  Someone died or something, and P.Roe actually called ME and appointed me a dum dittie (or whatever), and it was then that I realized they were recruited by their notoriety, and not by any sort of audition.  No wonder they were so funny!!  And I had to admit to her that it just wouldn't do.  I would have LOVED to have been one of that crazy bunch, but from birth I have never been able to sing a single note in key.  So sad.  I adore music, but am tone deaf.  Dang it!

FlaJean

Jenny, Good to hear from you.  You sound so busy with your PT and visiting your family.  Happy Birthday to your hubby.  The time does go by so quickly.

We are having a beautiful day here in Northwest Florida.  We are finally seeing fall weather.  Our high will be 73° according to the weatherman.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Marilyne

Mary Page - I love to hear about the "bashes"and meet-ups that you all enjoyed during the years of Senior Net.  I was member then,  but so far away,  and all by myself in Northern California,  so I never was able to attend any of them.   I don't think anyone from CA, ever  attended, but possibly some members from Southern Cal?    I enjoy looking at the photos that still get posted occasionally.  Such joyful memories for you all!

Jean - Good to see you posting here again!  I wonder if our weather is still the same?   As I mentioned before, I remember how we have similar temps in Northern California and Northern Florida, this time of year.  Lingering in the low 70's every day.  Today seems cooler because we have fog coming in from the coast, but it will burn off by afternoon.

Jenny -  I can imagine how you enjoyed seeing Jonah, and having him escort you around the new house!  I know how happy you are to have them closer than Arkansas.   I can relate to how grueling it is to drive even a short distance in today's crowded world!  I still drive, but never on the freeways anymore!   It's bumper to bumper now, so accidents are inevitable in conditions like that.   Especially when huge trucks are barreling along with the flow of traffic.   I don't know how I managed to drive back and forth from here to Los Angeles for so many years, on I-5.   Both daughters lived down there in the early 2000's, so I made lots of trips.

MaryPage

Marilyne, we had a Dick Carstensen from California, and a Fran Middleton from Mill Valley, CA (who, if I am not mistaken, had some job within Senior Net, or something like) and finally one of the loveliest human beings I have ever enjoyed the acquaintance of: Adrienne Jonas.

We had Jean Campbell (Scottie) from Scotland and Janette McGlynn (Jinty) from England: they were hilarious.  John & Mary DeBoer came from New Zealand, and we all adored them.  It was fascinating to talk with Margret & Paul Walbeck who came from South Africa, and there was a whole Bash in itself present from Canada.

I have the same emotions as you regarding traffic today.  Honestly, I look back at my thinking nothing of leaving home at four A.M. and driving ten to twelve hours (always stopping for breakfast and lunch in the same Howard Johnson, or so my daughter Debi believed for years!) to what I think of as "Upstate New York", just an hour & fifteen minutes short of Montreal, with some of my kids.  Now, I don't drive at all, but just riding any distance makes me uncomfortable, so I do not travel at all any longer.  So it is that not only times change, but people do!

I've enjoyed reading all your messages but I haven't felt very chatty lately. In case you'd like to see an obituary for Chape, I'm posting the one from the funeral home. I will get back to posting soon. Lauri and Lisa are back home in New England but I've been kept very busy by Donna and Michael.

MaryPage - I'm so glad  your procedure is over and you are back with us.

I am literally crying emotional tears with gratefulness...my doorbell rang and a lady from the charity " Small Acts of Kindness " was standing there with a large canvas bag absolutely full of stuff, the bag is heavy and i have not looked inside it yet, so it will be a pleasant surprise, sure it will be a mixture of foods, chocolate drinks, thermal winter warmers, socks-gloves-blanket, books - playing cards, etc etc....She told me she had another 20 homes to deliver to...Not sure how they got my name and who nominated me, to add to this years Christmas home delivery as i had one last year when i was living 140 plus miles away from where i am living now....God is truly wonderful, He knows what we need, and he gives us what we need, and not, what we want...Good things happen when we least expect it...and somebody up above is definitely taking good care of me...

Oh wow, animal charity home collector has just left with my suitcase included and its full donated contents of clothes, jewellery, bric-a-brac etc...After many phone calls ( several months of trying to get a driver and van, ) to a Blue Cross animal charity shop where they had no driver willing to come out to my location... So i contacted a local R.S.P.C.A. animal cruelty charity shop " yesterday " by phone, and told they would send a driver " today "now i know which animal charity i will be donating to in the future...

Beverly - So nice to see a message here from you.  Thank you for including Chape's very loving and interesting obituary notice.    We understand that it's too soon now for you to feel like conversation,  but please return here to B&T, whenever you feel like talking.  Someone will always be here.

Jackie - What a wonderful surprise, that someone from the charity,  "Small Acts of Kindness",  brought you a huge bag filled with all sorts of Winter necessities, and food too!    So nice of you to, "pay I forward", by sending a  suitcase filled with items for the R.S.P.C.A. animal charity shop.  I'm very impressed with the kindness of the people in the city where you live. ❤️

Good Morning,

Beverly, thank you for Chape's obituary.  Take your time about joining in - not only here but anywhere.  These things can't be rushed - no matter how much we may think they ought to be.  Love and prayers to/for you.

Jackie, Wow!  That was a nice surprise!!!!  Glad you found a charity to which you can contribute, too.  I agree with Marilyne about the place where you now live. Good choice!

Looks as if my day may be centered around food.  Grocery order will be delivered this afternoon.  "Dinner Date" with son tonight.  He's bringing burgers/taters from our favorite place (locally owned - not a chain).

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere a Wonderful Wednesday.

Beverly, thanks for sending Chape's obituary.  I know it must be comforting to have Donna and Michael close by.

Marilyne, I understand what you mean about that traffic from our trips to the area when our daughter lived in Calif.  She drove from Santa Cruz to the "Valley" every work day for years in that awful traffic and that was a few years ago.  I graduated from high school a half year early and visited my sister in Victorville for a couple of months before going to work for AT&T.  No traffic in Victorville.  I often wonder how or if that little town has changed.

Another beautiful day.

More bad news. Jim took a nose-dive last night. His blood pressure tanked. Now they have him on dialysis and gave him Epinephrine. The Dr. didn't sound too hopeful that if he pulls out of this he will live for very much longer. Except for two hours Sue has been at hospital since around 8AM. She is going back over around six to watch basketball with him. At least he is alert. He finally called his son to let him know the situation. He didn't want Sue to tell anyone because he didn't want all the fuss of people in and out. Anyway, his son was pretty ticked-off that he wasn't told sooner. I am sure he thought Sue should have notified him sooner. He EX was more understanding and told Sue he was always very private that way.

Marilyne

MarsGal -  So sorry to hear that Jim is not doing well!  The dialysis should help, as well as being in the hospital, where he will be monitored 24/7.  If he feels like watching basketball, that sounds like a good sign.  Please keep us posted on how he is doing?

Beverly

MarsGal - I am so sorry to hear this about Jim. It sounds very much like what Chape just went through. I will hope and pray for the best.

Shirley

Beverly, thanks for posting the link. Hope you don't mind I left a short note for you & the family. I know what it means to come back in here when your world turns upside down, like someone puts an arm around you, right?  I am at 8 & 1/2 years later and realize my mother really was smart, that life goes in phases and this is "another phase", not at all like each of the others but can be as comfortable & happy as you let it be. Hugs to you.

Jackie, great that you are being cared for and have the chance to care for others.

MarsGal, sorry about your bad news today and hope Jim & Sue find peace and comfort in the days ahead.  I lost my oldest cousin this week and today learned my oldest gr-son's father in law has tested positive for Covid. He's in a nursing home and has "no resistate" signed, so not much hope for him. He had a massive stroke 10 years ago so not in good health, but conditions are so strained for visiting and even funerals because of the virus, makes the situation worse.

So many nice posts to read tonight.

BEVERLY, thank you for sharing Chapes Obituary.  I had no idea of his many accomplishments.  Hugs to you. 🙏

MARYPAGE, the memories we have of the bashes are so special....I enjoyed reading every name you mentioned..... such wonderful memories I will cherish forever and you, my dear, are at the top of the list!

MARILYN, I am sad for you never have ing the opportunity to join in a bash.  You would have loved it so much😘

MARSGAL, so sorry to read the news that Jim is failing more.  I pray the dialysis will turn things around for him🙏

JEAN, thank you for the nice Birthday Wishes for my Bob.  Happy to read your weather has been nice.  Ours has too, but that is not good, unfortunately 😘

JACKIE, how exciting and sweet to be delivered a nice package of goodies.  You are so kind hearted to pay it forward.....happy to read you were out with your church group.....hope you were able to keep your eyes open!  Thankful that Small Acts of Kindness made your day VERY SPECIAL😘

We still have not had a drop of snow yet this year.  We have not had snow here in 280 days I head on the news AND if we do not get snow before the 21st of this month we will have broken the record of the latest snowfall ever!   We have a terrible forest fire near Estes Park.  Last night a company had their first ever night time retardant drop, but sadly it ended in a crash of the plane and the pilot died.  So sad, and a terrible set back for this, what we hoped to be a wonder advancement😩

CALLIE, I hope dinner and visit with your son was wonderful!  Precious time together!

Pleasant dreams to all.

Sad news. Jim passed away some time around 1AM this morning. Sue had just gotten home from the hospital when they called to tell her he was gone. She called me from the hospital about 2:15am. Jim's EX was on her way in to be with her, so she said she would call later on today.

This has to be one of the worst years I can ever remember - for a lot of us. However, there are a few bright spots. Jackie, your finally finding a good place with a welcoming, friendly community of people is one of them. Thank you for sharing. It cheers me up.

Vanilla-Jackie

MarsGal...thank you, yes, " bright spots " been 2 & a half years of non - stop crying when back home and inside closed doors...

So so sorry to hear of this sad news of Jims passing and sad for Sue who was not with him at the moment when he passed away...

Mars - so sorry to see the sad news about Jim, this morning.   Prayers going out for Sue, and for you too.   You've had a lot of sadness to cope with this past year, what with the sudden loss of George, to Covid.  It's a bad season, for those of us in our senior years.  So many dear friends and beloved family, have passed away.
