  • so_P_bubble: Good luck in your search, maybe you will be lucky and even get a better bargain than last!
  • Amy: Oldiesman Hope you found a car today..

  • Oldiesmann: I guess on Saturday I'll go out and get my stuff out of the car, but I'm now back to searching for a car

  • Oldiesmann: Heard from them this afternoon. The cost of repairs ended up being far more than they originally estimated and about $1200 more than what they say the car is worth (which is a little more than what I paid for it), so they're going to total it.

  • so_P_bubble: Fingers crossed! I hope the final cost for repair will be lower than previously estimated!
    October 16, 2019, 01:17:17 pm
  • Oldiesmann: It was towed to the local body shop on Friday so I should know more this week about whether they want to repair it
    October 14, 2019, 12:50:22 am
  • Oldiesmann: I believe he meant "borderline" in terms of cost of repairs vs how much they think the car is actually worth

  • so_P_bubble: the yearly licence. Big loss. and I cannot do without a car.

  • so_P_bubble: Michael, that does not sound good, especially for your own security. Maybe you could sell as spare parts and find another bargain? A few months ago mine was stolen during the night and the security cams showed it fleeing toward the Palestinian territories - gone forever. I had just paid the yearly l

  • Oldiesmann: Bubble, the insurance company is having it taken to a local body shop to further inspect it. The appraiser did say it was "borderline" repairable though, despite otherwise being in good condition and having low miles (less than 76,000)

  • so_P_bubble: Brian, what is your problem with how long it has been? There won't be a chat here for a very long while.  If you want to chat, please find some other place more compatible to your needs.  Most of our members much prefer the forum discussions which are perfect for our different time zones.

Will try to get a post in before internet goes out again. It's giving me a headache with seconds on & off. If you don't hear from me for a few days, I am swamped with "to-dos" & stressed with all going on in the neighborhood. House across the street starting the roof & other repairs today so nearly impossible to get in & out of driveway. It's HOT HOT HOT & the cool down keeps getting pushed back. Not happy the new washer insists I use HE (high energy) detergent, etc. so when to Wally World & spent a forture... told the checker I have a dear online friend that works for Walmart... and that I may start going dirty if it costs this much to keep clean clothes & linens!  She wasn't a very smiley person, not our Janie!

Hi to all... oh, Callie, I did the same, looked in Photos & in here for that photo...  :crazy2:

Past my bed time sweet dreams everyone.

CALLIE and SHIRLEY, I have to tell you that I saw the picture BEFORE I read JENNY's message.  I've sort of developed a habit of looking at the picture first because she's always changing it to reflect her love for her grandkids!

SHIRLEY, thanks for the kudos.  I try to have a smile for the customers even if I don't feel like it and if they crack a joke, I ALWAYS laugh!

I have 7 quarts and 8 pints of veggie soup cooling in a couple of places around here.  And there might be 5 or 6 more pints tomorrow morning.  I'm going to have to get at it early because my friend and I are going to see Downton Abbey in the afternoon.  I had some for my lunch and it's good enough to serve to company.  Anybody wanna come over for lunch?  I'll even make a sweetbread for dessert!

Now I'm going to hit the hay because I'm beat right down to my socks and that's bad beause I'm not wearing socks.  I wish you all a pleasant night's sleep and a happy tomrrow!  And my God bless us, every one.

It is much too late to be posting, but I just wanted to say a quick goodnight to EVERYFRIEND.

I do not want to cut Matt's time short on my avatar, but I just saw this picture of our Granddaughter Kate, taken last Saturday with her dancing group and I just had to share it with you all!

Kate is Dave and Michele's Daughter.  She is 9 years old, turning 10 in 2 months.  She has just matured so quickly.  She had braces and just got them off a couple of months ago, and since then she just gets prettier and prettier❣️  Of course I am not prejudice one bit❣️❣️

Today was Matthew's last football game, so we had to go and see them win another game.  They have one left on Wednesday but Matt will not be playing as they are putting the B string in. They will be in the, playoffs as they have won every game.  Since Matt will not be playing we are thinking about driving to Vail for a couple of days to check out the beautiful colors....they say it is a spectacular year for color and it is at the peak right now.

Brian and Cathy have just boarded their flight from Hanoi to Hong Kong where they will spend the rest of their time away.  With the recent picketing going on there we certainly hope they will be safe.  It seems most of the marching, etc. goes on on the weekends.

SHIRLEY, I am sorry you are stressed out with all the Internet coming and going as well as the roofing going on in your neighborhood.  Take care of yourself....don't let this get you down.

Yum, yum, JANE.  Veggie soup made.  Enjoy movie day tomorrow.

Pleasant dreams to all and off go the lights.
