Good morning everyone..

Beautiful sunny morning here with birds singing their song. Something was bothering the geese last night ,three times they put up a ruckus along with the loons. The one that woke me was the sound of a loon so close I thought he was taking a short cut through my bedroom window.

Yesterday was productive, the garden is now tilled. The dance was shaky but soon  leveled out. I see I missed some onions last fall and they are starting to grow! On to the front garden where I cleaned out some of the suckers from the trees, there is a lot more to do but tomorrow ....maybe :)

Friends stopping a the house to pick up some items  is all that is on the agenda.

Neighbour called and this time he came over with all of his Mom's yarn, needles and patterns. One pattern that interested me was one for Newfie mitts and they sure look warm. Bags and a tote brimming. Told him what I didn't use it will go to another lady that knits items for the humane society. Nothing will get wasted.

Jane, you had a great day and hope you are not feeling the effects too much today. Our gardening centres are now open with curb side pick up so I may be able to get a few tomato plants. Pumpkin seeds have been planted in pots in the house to get an early start  .

Gloria, I don't blame you for enjoying the nice weather outside. Babe ate her breakfast and all pills disappeared.....now why would she leave them the other day??

Better scoot.

Enjoy your day everyone ,stay safe.

Gloria, I've visited the coast all the way around the US and still shiver, almost sick at my stomach as I watch the waves and "unending" water. Not sure why unless that trip across the water to England left me with that lonesome feeling, knowing I couldn't go home for 3 years. Love the scenery and shells but the whole time I breathe like I can't get enough air.

We have severe storms moving into the city, really hot when I woke up but this is spring in Kansas! Guess I'd better dress in case weather gets worse, had my breakfast & cats fed, all inside so can sleep easy if I go back to bed. That sounds like a good idea!

Oops, Amy & Janie snuck in.... morning girls, will be back later, bed is calling. Normally I would be on my way to church, maybe soon?

well I had a good sized post ready to post and hit something wrong and away it went poof away. well we had two of our granddaughters over and ate noon meal with us.yesterday they brought Lawnmowers over and mowed our yard.awhile back I got the R V  stuck in the yard down at the shop. and spinning is forward and backwards broke the rear end. make's a ta rabble Noyce now. so to the garage it will go now. one grand daughter Is president of the Bank she works at. she is sharp at fixing things on computers. she keeps the bank's up and running her self so dose not have to call in outside help. Our laptop would take the picture to the big screen T V but would not take the sound to TV so could not control the sound there. you guessed it she fixed in a few min. works great now.sound just like the person talking is, not a ecakoa.Have a great rest of the day.

Well, I came in the Soda Shoppe and said "Hello" and all I heard was an echo!  I see LLOYD has been around but that was way back in the early afternoon.  I unplugged the coffee pot and turned the heat off under the teakettle and washed up a couple of dishes and now I'm going to go to bed.

I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy, healthy tomorrow. And may God bless us, every one....wherever we are!

Nancy has already gone to bed, I am going to bid you all good night and sweet dreams,go take my shot and last pills for the day, and join her see how close she will let snuggle with out hollering at me. Hope to see you all tomorrow. good night.

Good morning everyone, another morning waking early. Hope it does not warm up too much, need to get a new AC this year. I would die with the heat up here when the sun hits. In winter I appreciate the way it warms up but not now. With all the time I was outside this week end I did not see anyone.  53 apartments and I was the only one outside. Wonder if they are afraid of the fresh air.

AMY  great feeling when the ground is soft enough to till it for planting time.  Years ago I looked forward to planting seeds and my tomato plants. Never had enough tomatoes and I canned hundreds of quarts of them.

SHIRLEY  I always loved the ocean but never wanted to be out  on it in a ship miles from land. My #1son and DIL go on a cruise every year, I had a chance to go but passed it up.

LLOYD  looks like you better stay away from machines, they either hurt you or they break down somehow.

JANE  I did sleep good last night and woke early once again. Hope you had a restful sleep, too.

Wow where was everyone yesterday? Like others implied, I hear an echo in here this morning.

Have a good day and stay safe.

Gloria you beat me up again. No matter so i get to see and visit with you. I do seam to have a lot of problems, but it is better to have them than set on the couch all the time. seams as though I was thought in Sunday school class that god would not give you more burdens than you can bare with out helping you through when you come to him and ask for help. a simple prayer has always helped me through. it is 53º and clear now but is supposed to just get to 61º and rain after noon. I think if Nancy wants to go with me we will go to Sam's club and get some things we do not thing we can't do with out. if she dose not I may go to shop and make a recipe box or two. think they would sell good. Have a good day and hope to see more of you all today here. we are not allowed to travel. I wounder how long we have to put up with things like they are now, and where did common good since go also freedom of religion go. have a great day.  Lloyd

I'm up and attem this morning.  The temp was already 52º when I got up and heading for the low 60s today.  I have some one-handed weeding to do today to get ready for daughter Christy' visit for the weekend.  She loves gardening and that's what she always gives me for a combination birthday/mother's day gift.  But I usually try to get as many of the winter's accumulation of weeds out of the way as I can before she comes.  This year is not going to be so good but she knows that already.

GLORIA, I was outside as much as possible yesterday but I have a really good excuse for going out...well, two good excuses if I count the weeds.  I take Mickie for a walk whenever I think about it or whenever she reminds me of it.  It's good for me and it's good for her to be outside and to getting some exercise.

LLOYD, I hope you and Nancy can agree on what's to be done today!  We can't run out of the things that keep us going!

I guess I better go get dressed because it's almost time for breakfast (dog and people) and right after that, Mickie tells me in no uncertain terms that it's time for her first walk of the day!

I wish you all a lovely day!

I'm here on a sometimes cloudy and sometimes sunny morning.  It is supposed to be cooler today, I think.  The air conditioning has been running for the last two days.

I didn't do much yesterday.  It was not a good day for me.  I spent most of the afternoon and evening in the recliner.  But, I slept pretty good so I am hoping for a better day today.

Laundry day, as usual, and David will pick up groceries.

Take care, All.

Good morning everyone..
I am up but not att'em ,guess att'em will follow. I hope.

Friends came yesterday to pick up their things and left us with two wrought iron plant hangers he had made. That was a nice surprise and will soon have plants hanging from them!

Not a lot on for today other than picking up dog food and sewing.

Jane, we have misty rain here this morning so no gardening here. Would love to come and help you with yours.

Gloria,I think this year we will see a lot of people canning.  I know I need to do more of one pickle as my neighbour and my friends have already put their order in :))

Lloyd, hope you have a great day.

Good Evening Everyone!

No one has  posted in here since
a little before 8 AM this morning..

I am doing fine.   The weather here
today was warmer and sunny, but
I am not too sure just how long
that will last.

Hurrah for MAY... one of my favorite
months here in the North East with
a hot summer not too far off,  it
is nice to enjoy sweater weather
that we are having now.. (until the
rains come!) ..

Tomorrow I get my food delivered after
staying up and ordering it last night at
Midnight.   So I only have to
wait two days for it to be
ready for my daughter Kelly to
pick up and bring to me.

I feel very very fortunate and sure
hope that I can get by without
catching the dreaded Covid_19
flu.    We are all trying
real hard here not to get it...
but sometimes reality interferes
and some of us have to suffer
the consequences .....

Fingers crossed that we all
survive this.

Have a good day and night.

Boy!  It sure was a slow day in here, today! I hope everyfriend was off having a good day and that they will be here tomorrow to tell us all about it!

I didn't do much today.  Mickie and I had several walks together and I pulled a few more weeds.  This morning, I took down some stuff that would be in the way when the guys come to start on the floors again.  That took about an hour using only one hand.  There's more to take down but it's just not the same when I can't use both hands.

I'm hoping to get more moving done tomorrow but time will tell.  Right now, I'm off to Dreamland.  I wish you all a peaceful night's sleep and a happy, healthy tomorrow.  And may God bless us, every one!

Good morning everyone. Sandy and JaneS looks like you two were the most here yesterday. Jane please do not over do it get someone to boss an do your heavy work. you do not need to have a back set, and if you cant get anyone else get the  flor people to do it and give them a couple more $$. our motor home is down in the meantime or we would come out there i would and do it for you while you and Nancy visited. I have contacted a good mechanic through his daughter but have not got a answer yet, if he don't come through I have a friend that maybe can get to help me and we two can get it fixed. but i hope the first choice comes through. i and he are too old and weak to be pulling on the wrenches and lifting on the parts.another choice is get a wrecker to pull it to Caterpillar and get them to fix it. they work on them. have a great day.

Good Morning Everyfriend!  It's only 39º here right now and heading for 58 later today.  The sun is up but it's cloudy

LLOYD, whatever I don't get moved, the floor guys will move and they don't complain and they don't ask for extra.  I just like to move some of the decorations and fragile stuff myself.  And I like to make their job as easy as possible.

Mickie and I are sitting here waiting for the boinger so we can have breakfast and then take our morning walk. I'm not sure what will follow that but I'm sure something will rear it's had and beg for notice.  Of course, there are always the weeds!

I hope you all have a lovely day!

Good morning everyone...

A sunny day but chilly 23° F and the weather guesser mention that "s" word!! I thought of an "s" word  for her too. Wash your mouth with soap!! We are so wanting warmer weather to make leaves pop out, grass to grow and to get out and play in the dirt.

Have no plans for the day, know of things to be done now  they may or may not get done. If it warms up and the wind dies down I can work outside getting the one flower bed cleaned up. We shall see..

Enjoy your day everyone, stay safe.

Good morning everyone. 44 this morning and to be only 60 today. After 2 days in the low 70's that felt cool this morning. At least I got my 8 hours sleep last night and the sun is shining.

LLOYD  for the first time in almost 2 months the church my daughter and her husband go to was open Sunday. She said it felt good to go and not watch on Facebook and see the others there. I bet you could sell those recipe boxes you make. They sound beautiful.

JANE  like you I try to go outside every day. Even if I only walk aroung the parking lot and not much to see there at least I do get out and get some of the best exercise there is for me.

PHYLLIS  my CNA went for groceries yesterday. I don't know how she does it with the way the stores are these days. I have not been in a market in quite awhile and that was way before this darn virus changed every thing. Seems like this state had more deaths from it yesterday than any before but most are from nursing homes. Wonder if normal causes are now being blamed on the virus.

AMY  my "att'em" left me and now is just do nothing days. With the coming of home freezers I did a lot of freezing food, faster than canning. Bad thing there is if power goes out and you lose every thing. I expect we will have more cpld days before we get the heat back for a few months. We have rain in the forecast for late tomorrow.

Had my coffee and it is about time I go get my breakfast. My tummy is saying Feed Me so better do just that.

Have a good day and stay safe.

Rosemary

Hello everyone,

I am back here after a long time away, but it is lovely to recognise so many names and faces.

I am still here in Scotland, though presently living on Deeside (NE Scotland) whereas I normally now reside in Edinburgh. My husband works in Aberdeen and I came up to our house here before our lockdown started - it is much more peaceful and much less populated than the city.

It is a fine sunny day here (though nothing like the temperatures some of you are having - I think it is around 12C [53 Farenheit]). I boldly decided it was high time to plant out my bedding plants (mostly marigolds and geraniums, as all of our garden centres are closed and these were all they had at the supermarket). AFTER I had done it (of course) I looked at the weather forecast and see we are getting sleet on Sunday. It's been mild as mild for weeks - typical. I just hope my plants survive.

Since I've been up here I've been working on our little garden a lot, and have also planted some perennials and shrubs - peiris, clematis, hebe, miniature rhododendron, sedums, scabious, verbenas, nepeta, periwinkle, that sort of thing. I am trying to garden for wildlife - I have a lot of bird feeders out, though they tend to get stripped by crows. Lately I have seen a heron in the stream at the end of the garden several times, he (?she) is beautiful. Now I am trying to persuade my husband that we should build a pond.

From what I read on here, our lockdown is a lot stricter than many of yours. We are only supposed to go out for groceries, medical appointments (or vets) and for daily exercise - they even say that exercise should not be for more than one hour a day, although thankfully in this rural area there are plenty of quiet walks and no-one is checking up on you. My daughters are in Edinburgh and say it is hard there to find a path that isn't crowded. One of them has started to walk along the shore instead. We are not supposed to drive to start a walk, it has to be from our own front door - which is easy for me, but must be very hard for people in the city. We are not allowed to have anyone visiting our home who does not already live there (so it is just me, my husband and our one remaining Siamese cat in this house).

The only shops open are food stores, some DIY stores (though we are told we are only to buy 'essential' items from them - eg to repair a broken pipe, not to redo our kitchens - however, when you walk around residential areas you see every man in sight painting, sanding, or repairing something!  I know that is not essential but I do think it is a good use of their time, and also probably helps to keep them sane), plus pharmacies and some banks. Our branch post office is inside the Spar shop in the village so that is open too, but on very reduced hours. The post office is very busy, and is now limiting people to posting a maximum of 3 parcels in one go - I understand why, but at the same time it is hardly surprising that everyone is posting more when they can't visit. My own mother is 92 and lives in very sheltered housing - the residents are not allowed to leave the premises at all (it's called 'shielding' here) as they are such high risk, so although they are well fed by the housekeeper, I am constantly sending Mum things like toothpaste, books, biscuits, dried fruit, home made cakes and so on - and now she is asking me to send stuff to many of her elderly friends too. I don't mind as I am not really making any other contribution. Our shops seem to be pretty well stocked after a period of shortages caused largely by panic buying - but you can see why people did it as if anyone in your household shows any symptoms everyone in the house is grounded for fourteen days, no going out at all. Also, at the outset, the government said we should all do our shopping online, but it very quickly became apparent that our supermarkets were woefully inadequate for the task, they could not possibly deliver to everyone and now they are actually saying that we have to shop in store unless we are classed as vulnerable. So we go to a large supermarket once every two weeks, and in between I rely on the two very small grocery stores in the village - but really they do have all we need, even if it is not always EXACTLY what we want.

Like many of you, I am so fed up with this thing, but feel I should not complain as there are so many people so much worse off. My son is a member of the ambulance service in Aviemore (Highlands). Fortunately it has not been so bad over there, he says the worst thing is having to wear all the protective gear. He has also had to stay away from home quite a few nights when cover has been needed in other villages. The Health Service arrange for him to stay in local hotels - including one really lovely one (because it was the only one whose owner was prepared to open up again) with 5* meals, but of course he would prefer to be at home. His wife is 'furloughed' from her own job so when he is home they are doing a lot of work on their new garden. They are both extremely outdoorsy people who would normally use every spare minute for surfing, kayaking, swimming, running, ski-ing - now they are diverting their energies into their vegetable beds!

There is no sign of our lockdown ending at present, or of our schools re-opening. My elder daughter normally works in a central London school and she is very worried at the thought of having to return to London and travel by tube, so really I hope they don't restart till the autumn. She is working from home and almost all of the curriculum is being delivered remotely.

Apart from gardening I am mostly reading, reviewing and writing. A friend who is a publisher sends me her new releases, which are always beautifully produced, for review, and I am also reviewing my own choice of books on my blog. Even if no-one reads it I get a kick out of writing it. I have taken part in some reading challenges set up by other bloggers, which are also fun - recent ones include Reading Ireland Month, and the '1920 Club' (in which we all chose any book published in 1920, read it and reviewed it, and one blogger collated all the responses. In 6 months time we will do a '1956 Club'.)

My walks are usually either along the banks of the Dee or along a path built on the old Deeside railway line, which was closed many years ago. If I go out around 7pm the evening birdsong is just wonderful.

I had better stop for now, thank you for having me back!

Rosemary

Shirley

Rosemary, nice to see you back!  This virus has changed our lives like we never imagined so guess we will all have to learn to live with it, right?

I goofed, had checked in here & went over to Norm's Bait place & posted in there. Thought I was still here. I will tell you the important part but if you want to read the "jabber" you can hop over there.

Had e-mail from Jenny that she is also locked out so I gave her the run down about Safari & using Chrome.... at least what I could remember.  :crazy2:

Love the link to the trees, Don, thank you. Couple years ago I had one growing in the grout of the brick pillars at the start of the walk to the porch. I know I took a photo of it before cutting it out, but no clue what SD card it might be on. I was afraid it would break the grout loose.

We have mulberries, elm & redbud trees that grow like weeds, can't keep them cut down or killed off so a constant struggle. I do love trees & have quite a few different types down along my bank of the river, ash, catalpa, elm, sycamore, various types of willow & even several baby maples. I have wisteria growing to the top & hanging down on elm with lots more starts on the ground, and tiger lilies growing almost the entire width of our bank. One of these days I will take photos to show what I'm talking about all the time.

Have a busy day & would love a nap but no time today. Getting eyes rechecked for a better fit for glasses. Am frustrated with needing glasses, spoiled & I know it!

JaneS

Hello Everyfriend!  And welcome back, ROSEMARY!  Stop by often and let us know what you're doing.

I'm on my way to Dreamland!  I have to go for xrays tomorrow and I can go any time from 8 a.m. on so Cathy is picking me up about 7:45 so we can be the first ones there.

Good morning everyone, short night again. Came in and first thing I got side tracked with Donklan's link.

DONKLAN  I loved all those trees and their determination to grow. I will watch it again, thanks.

JANE  I feel the same about those trees, amazing aren't they?

ROSEMARY  it has been years since you posted here. Welcome back. Hope you continue posting again. I know we are all getting tired of being told to stay home and wearing a mask to go out of our doors. I am lucky I have a CNA-Certified Nursing Assitant -who comes 2 hours a day during the week. She does my grocery shopping for me.

SHIRLEY  guess I will miss your jabber in Norms, I am lucky I can sit long enough to get here every day.

JANE  only medical things here are only if an emergency unless one has the symptoms of the virus. The governor has told everyone to wear a mask outside or they will be fined.

LLOYD  the good Lord willing you and Nancy will spend the rest of your lives in your home.

AMY  hello when you wake up.

Now I have to "put an egg in my boot and beat it" or I won't be ready when Cathy gets here and we want to be in the office before others begin to come in.

Gloria, here I am. Slow moving today but up :)

Lloyd, Gloria is right. Hope you and Nancy spend the rest of your time in your home.

Rosemary, it is so good to see you back here after such a long time.  And. interesting to read of how Scotland is dealing with Covid-19.  It sounds pretty much the same as here though the U.S. goes by the rules of each state or community, it seems.  Some are more restrictive than others.  Personally, I've chosen to stay at home exclusively and have almost everything we need either delivered or picked up at curb (kerb) side.  It is working pretty well so far.  I have discovered that we can "make do" with a lot of things that perhaps we once thought we couldn't tolerate.

donklan, I enjoyed "Tenacious Trees".  Trees are one of my favorite things and I rarely make a decision to have one cut down.  As usual, human beings can  always learn a lesson from nature.

Rainy last night but sun is shining today.  It is cooler so the heat is back on and feels good.  My fresh veggies were delivered from Papa Spud's yesterday and I'm very satisfied with everything.  The fresh blueberries are delicious.  The sugar snap peas are small but look good and are so fresh.  The only thing wrong with them is they have to be strung.  Oh, well....life is never perfect.

Take care, All.

good Morning everyone. 52º and sunny now @9:41 A M I havent been up long, but had a good sleep 7.5 hours just late going to bed.  supposed to get to 59º at noon and higher at 4 P M.hope you all have a good day just as you like it. as far as our living in our house, is going to court as soon as they open up the courts again. ( sad but the person causing the problem was a thought to be a good friend. when I was abel to work hard long hours, was doing demodulation and salvage. I gave him all of the lumber for the total house studs boxing and sheeting for the walls and roof.and helped him put it up and on. and the bricks and same with them, it is a all brick covered home. if you measure a square foot there are 8.5 bricks in it. at that time i was selling bricks to ride a way brick co in Tulsa oakl. for 15cents each you do the math adds up to lots of $$$. hurts my heart big time. for the turnaround, with him and the trying to claim equipment over there I loaned to him not gave him.I am leaving it to god to sway the truth with the court's. have a great day.

Good Morning from sunny, mild central Oklahoma,

Rosemary,  as I posted on the "Welcome" page, it's nice to see you here as well as on SeniorLearn.

It looks like it's snowing in my back yard because of the "cotton" floating off the cottonwood trees along the creek behind the fence.  It really scatters when birds fly onto the ground under the feeders. I hadn't thought about their wings flapping making so much "breeze".
I'd noticed some thrushes pecking around in the flower beds and flying off with bits of mulch - probably nest building. Haven't seen any taking away the "cotton" but it would surely make a soft lining for a nest.

I had a "medical maintenance" appointment yesterday. Miss Emily was my "chauffeurette" and we had planned to do a few errands and pick up lunch on the way home.  However, I was in and out so quickly and errands didn't take that long, so we weren't ready to eat.  She isn't the chatterbox her sister is so we visited a bit and then she went on home.

Then I went for a hair cut.  So nice to have the shaggy dog look gone.

That was the busiest day I've had in almost 6 weeks so the most effort I plan to put out today is to get some desk work done.

Wishing Everyfriend Everywhere an Enjoyable Day.

Good Afternoon everyone!

Another isolated day from
the Covid_19 pandemic..

Yikes!  There seems to be more
people out and about in
the streets here as I watch them
from my Window to the world.

Everyone who wishes to take a bus
ride must have a face mask on
or they cant ride.  And we can not
use the elevators here unless we are
wearing face masks.

Every day I wake up
hardly believing that we
are all suffering through
this,  with no solution any
time in the near future.

Crazy as it seems,  this is our
reality.

Callie.... you seem to be able to get
out and about now.  hopefully the virus
is not as bad in Oklahoma as it is
here on the East Coast.

We have been lucky here in Maine,
so far, not too many infected,  but
everyone is still affected by this
curse..

I need to get back to my
usual postitive attitude..
which I am sure that everyone
will appreciate..

Have a good week,
Everyone and stay safe.

Sandy
