Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Oldiesmann: The chat can be accessed from the menu but I don't kow how often anyone is in there

I think you'll like it here.  We are a friendly enough bunch  ;)  If you need any help just give a shout. :2funny:

Looking forward to seeing your posts, and if you'd like to share, we'd like to see your photos as well, Rosemary.

Hello

Not sure if I am posting this in the right box, but here goes...

I used to be a member here some time ago but life got busy....however, I have just rejoined, and I look forward to taking part in discussions again.

I normally live in Edinburgh, Scotland, but at the moment I am living in our other house on Deeside (north east Scotland) as my husband works up here, and I didn't want to be on my own during our lockdown. So I have been up here for quite a few weeks now, and to be honest I am enjoying it quite a lot. The house is small but there are only the two of us in it, it has a small garden at the end of which there is a brook and (on the opposite bank) woodland, and there are country walks I can do from the front door.

In Edinburgh I am the administrator of St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral, but I am currently 'furloughed' so my days are free to read, write, garden, walk and keep in contact with family and friends.

I have two daughters, both staying, at the moment, in our house in Edinburgh. One is an art student at Dundee University and the other is the Music & Arts administrator for a large London school - she is working from home.  My son is an ambulanceman and lives with his wife at Aviemore in the Cairngorms (Highlands of Scotland).

I am interested in most things!

Best wishes,

Rosemary

Hello, Rosemary!  I "know" you from SeniorLearn but haven't posted there in quite a while.  I do read the "Library" posts and always enjoy your stories about Life In Scotland.

A tour of the British Isles years ago took us from Wales up the west side of the country to Inverness and back to England via Perth and Edinburgh.  Always wanted to go back to an Elderhostel (now called Roads Scholars) that was located in a couple of places across the northern part of Scotland but never made it before I "aged out" of that kind of travel.

I'm looking forward to "seeing" you in some of the Forums here.

Amy

Hello and welcome Rosemary. As Bubble said please join in and if you need any help just ask..
I am in Ontario Canada and like you confined to just a few areas. Sounds like you are in a beautiful spot!!

Thank you Callie and Amy!

Callie, I thought I hadn't seen you on Senior Learn for a while - but I had a long gap when i just did not have time to post, and now I have returned I'm gradually noticing which names are  missing. Anyway I am so glad you are fit and fine!

And I know what you mean about 'aging out' - even at my age I am really not bothered about travel any more. I would like instead to see more of my own country. We are booked to return to Islay in September, but whether or not that will now happen I don't know. The islands are being understandably careful, but on the other hand for many of them tourism is their major source of income. Islay is the home of 8 whisky distilleries, and although most of their products are no doubt exported, there is a big trade in 'whisky tours' and some of the larger distilleries have visitor centres and cafes. Anyway, we have 4 months to see how things pan out. We live in hope!

Amy, we lived in Newfoundland in 1991-2 and were able to visit Toronto and Montreal, but unfortunately I have not seen any other parts of Canada. It is one of the few countries that I would still want to visit. Years and years ago, when I was at school, I had a penfriend from Hamilton, Ontario. We corresponded regularly for a long time and I often wonder what happened to her, she was a lovely person.

Rosemary, I remember a Rosemary Kaye, if you are so, i do remember you, welcome back to our S & F's...

... Just an after thought, i was born in Edinburgh ( Haymarket ) but i am not Scottish nationality...

Rosemary

Hello Jackie,

Yes it is the same Rosemary Kaye here!  Thank you for your welcome.

I normally work very near Haymarket, as I am the administrator of St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral - but I have now been 'furloughed' and whether my job will still exist after all of this remains to be seen.

So anyway, am on Deeside at the moment and enjoying the garden and the birds.  I hope you are well?

Rosemary, thank you for asking but no, i am not well, since our last communications i now have PP-MS...life moves on..

...oh yes, what would our life be if we never had our birds...I only feel at home amongst our trees, greenery, and the sight and sounds of our birds...

What a small world we live in, our connections to Haymarket...
