Good grief, jane - 21! stitches.  I hope the store is paying for the treatment for Ray.

Marilyn, I hope all continues to go well for you.  8^)  (The icons won't work for me with Windows Edge.)

Sharon, I hope your shots (epidurals?) works for you.  Pain is definitely NOT our friend.

It's good to see that so many have found the new site.  We haven't heard from Sue, Molly, Ginny Ann, Darlene - and several others.  I hope they get here soon.

For me, today was swimming, coffee, and my mani/pedi.  Would you believe a gel polish from (of all things) "Little Kitty"?  Makes me cringe, but I love the  polish - almost completely clear, but with sparkles.  Going crazy!  Tomorrow I have to go back to the optometrist.  I had my six-month checkup last week, and was told to call them right away if I had any flashes or floaters.  Well, I've had one floater since Monday, and decided I'd better call.  They want me to come in tomorrow - so it's back to the eye doctor I go.  Fingers crossed here.  If the clouds aren't too thick, the space station is supposed to be visible in our area today.  That's always fun to watch.  And then we're looking for the bad storm system to hit here tomorrow sometime.

Darlene is on board, Mary.  She made it in here today.

Evening, Gals...

Hi, Sandy!

Sue emailed me she will get registered soon...she's been busy and is trying to get into her dentist for a broken molar.

Maryz...no, the store didn't get his name...and it wasn't their fault.  They did get to clean up all his blood since I was anxious to get him to acute care PDQ.

We're having thunderstorms tonight, and I think I'll sleep downstairs in a recliner so I can breathe.

I'm glad we have nothing planned for today or most of Friday.

Jane

Lots of thunder and lightning last night.  I slept downstairs for a bit, then went up to the guest room bed.  Awake every couple of hours, so will be a slug today.

Working with Apple Support...and an American accent...to get his IPAD back and unlocked after a software update insists we put in a passcode that we chose not to set.  Bother!!

Hi. Everyone. Glad most are able to sign in to the new site.  I'm tryin to get my font to change to bigger letters so it can be read easier. Jane sorry to hear of your hubbys accident.   Hi to all looking in. Darlene

Marilyn

It's good to see every Buddy getting signed in to our new home.  Keith has gone over to the office to start loading up those plans, I have no idea where he plans to p;ut them. There are plans there from when his father was still alive probably 50 years worth of  architectural plans. he already has some of the furniture  spread arlound the family room and there isn't much room left there. Oh well we'll get it figured out. I just wish both of weren't sick.

MaryPage

I wish you weren't sick, too!

The Tech's did a good fast job setting us up again. Thanks

MaryZ, I had a very frustrating time with the same issue when I installed Windows 10 (with Edge) but finally found out that, if I use a different browser, everything is good again.  I use IE to open the sites where I wish to use icons or make changes in text size or color.

If you look up in the far right corner, you'll see something that looks like this: [... ] Click there and in the drop down menu  you'll see where it gives you the option to open with a different browser ... in my case it says "Open with Internet Explorer"

Darlene, yes, it did post.

Hi to all, glad we're almost all back here.

I just got back from the grocery. John is gone, so I had to bring it all in, so my back is killing me. I could hardly get everything put away. I sure hope the double whammy injections he's going to give me next week help. The others sure didn't.

Marilyn, could Keith donate all the old blueprints to the city? or the library? or the historical group?  Otherwise, maybe you should get him to rent a storage unit temporarily until he gets it all sorted out. Can you talk him into a garage sale?  It sounds like you're filled to the rafters there.

Jane & Marilyn, I hope you both get to feeling better.  Please don't cough in my direction.  ;) I don't need anything else.

The storm you got last night, Jane, is supposed to hit us tonight & tomorrow.  It's been overcast all day today, but warm. I'm so sorry to hear about Ray's accident.  Is he on coumadin?  The bleeding can be really scary when you are.

The landscapers came this morning and removed all of our pine straw from our perimeter beds and put in a wood mulch.  It looks so much better.  We will keep the pine straw in our back garden because it is cheaper though.  We had contracted for them to do this last fall and they're just now getting it done!

Jane W, just saw your post. I use google chrome rather than Edge. I can't get audio on the youtube videos on Edge either. I just ignore Edge.

Hi Jeanne, Sandy, Jane W, Mary, Mary Page, and whoever else I've missed.  Sharon

maryz

Sharon, I got a document carrier from Staples years ago to carry my art supplies.  Then it graduated (got demoted?) to a carrier for my groceries.  I took it to the car, put the sacks in (may take more than one trip), then pulled it into the house.  It's very light itself, and it pulls like a wheeled suitcase.  You might look for something like that, or a child's wagon.  I still use it occasionally for bringing things in from the store, but more for my weekly trip upstairs with the laundry.  LOL

JaneW, I still have IE on my laptop, but I forget to use it for just S&F and SeniorLearn.  I know I can use the emoticons there - I just never know I'm going to use one until I'm already into something on Edge.  LOL Thanks for reminding me, though.

We got some major rain most of today, but the sun is out now.  I think we're due to get another round of stuff later on.  I got to the optometrist this morning and got several retests (visual fields, picture taking, bright lights, etc.)  Fortunately, everything seems to be okay - no detached retina.  I do have to go back in six weeks for another round.  I'm just glad he's so thorough.  And I know what to watch for and when to call his cell as an emergency.

Like Marilyn....feeling very miserable....think my face and ear will explode...yuck...messy, I'm sure  >:(

Tomorrow night's couples outing is canceled ...I don't want to give anybody else this nasty thing.

Jane

Marilyn

Jane I can sympathize with you I can't smell anything and my ears are stopped up as well. I did take Freckles for two walks today, the  weather is so beautiful for however long it will alst before it rains again.

We do have a load of  stuff in the trunk of my car from the office. Some are Plans and some  other things. I hope we get them out pretty soon.

maryz

Has anybody here ever dealt with a survey company called "GFK Custom Research, Knowledge Panel"?  I love doing surveys, and have done Nielsen ratings books before.  I just got a mailing from this company, and it has a definite web presence (site, etc.).  Just a little leery about signing up - although they're not asking for any personal (i.e., numbers, etc.) information.  Just checking.

We got almost 3.5" of rain yesterday, but nice today.  I hope it's still pretty tomorrow, as predicted, for our tree planting thing.

I got a massage this morning, and then got "front-ended" at a traffic light on the way home.  ARGGGHH!! I was behind a big Teen Challenge truck, and the driver decided to back up - right into me.  Fortunately, I was stopped, and he was barely moving, but it was a loud crunch, and looked like the hood buckled up.  The vehicles were driveable (of course, there wasn't a mark on the truck), so we moved into a nearby parking lot, called insurance companies, the police, and he called his employer.  I'll have to wait to see the police report, but I don't think there's any question that he was at fault.  And I don't seem to be hurt - although I may stiffen up later on.  I think/hope it's only cosmetic damage to the car.  I'm glad nobody was with me - they might not have learned any new words, but I'm sure they would have learned a few new combinations and phrases.

I hope everybody else is having a better day.

jane

Geez, Mary, not what you needed this morning, but glad nobody was hurt!

We've had a lot of rain, too, and temps in lower 40s.  I felt better this morning, so I went with Ray to the follow-up at Acute Care, and she was pleased.  Now we're home and in the family room with a fire and books to read.

Jane

Marilyn

Mary one time I was stopped behind a car at the stop light and the car behind me slammed in to me making an accordion out of my car totaling it. However, It still made me responsible for the damage to the car in front of me, they said I rear ended that car even though I was   push forward by the car behind me. Just letting you  know not to be surprised if it is some how claimed to be your fault. My insurance got revoked because of that accident.

Still not getting  much better I am so surprised by the amount of stuff coming out of my sinus's, Keith is worse off than I am, he  kept me awake a lot during the night with his  inability to breathe and me checking to make sure he was alright and still breathing. We went through at least a dozen hankies,  I had to wash them this morning as there were no more clean ones.

JeanneP

Yes.  It does seem that regardless if not your fault. If you hit from behind they say its you.
I had a small one last year at the pay booth at the hospital. This lady was in front paying. Started her car and moved a fraction then reached for something I went to move mine and tapped her back bumper.  She was O.K and I took her to get a estimate next morning. Security Offices saw it all. But next day her Son got involved saying that the little bump damaged his mother shoulder and would need medical treatment. So what a big thing this turned into.  I got onto my insurance. Asking the hospital what his mother was being treated for. She was 83 years old. Had joint problems.  Told my insurance that. they said for me to just leave it with them.  Turned out they got nothing other than a small amount to take the scratch off the bumper.   My insurance say that the are experienced in people trying to claim large amount . My premium never changed any.

We under a wind advisory for winds in the 30+ range for all day tomorrow.  We went grocery shopping tonight, so no need to be out tomorrow.

Jane

jane

Gusty Saturday morning here..the wind is really howling and it's in the 30s.

I'll be inside watching the Final Four basketball and hoping this cold gets out of my ears and head.  Such a nuisance!

Hope your Saturday is warmer and less windy!

Today has been a beautiful day - not just because of the weather (although it's gorgeous, too).  All our wonderful daughters were here, plus grandchildren Sarah and Matt and fiancé Claire, and friends Vicki & Roger.  We shared in helping plant a tulip poplar in the Memorial Forest at the Sculpture Fields with some of John's ashes. I spread some around the base of the tree, and Matt finished the filling in with dirt and mulch. We were doing great until Kate started playing some Jimmy Buffett, which brought on some tears.  All in all, a perfect send off!

Mary, I'm so glad you had a lovely day for John's memorial tree planting. Wonderful that so many of the family were able to come.  I'm sorry you had an accident yesterday.  So upsetting when it happens. I had someone rearend me when I was in HH. My car was only 3 months old too!! Grrr. Anyway, I'm glad you are okay.

Jane, it has been beautiful here but very gusty too. We got about a half inch of rain in the past 2 days. Need more than that.  Enjoy your games. With both Butler and IU out of it, I'm no longer interested, although UNC is big in the news in Charlotte area.

I wonder where Sue and Ginny are. I miss them.

Not much going on here. John seems to have a cold now too.  Brian's family got their new yellow lab puppy today. In the FB pics, the boys have ear to ear grins and looks so happy.  Their last dog, also a yellow lab, died of cancer about 8 yrs ago and they are just now getting another. Their life has been so up and down and round about with all of Brian's assignments and moves.

Hi to everyone.  Sharon

Marilyn

Hi everyone jusy checking in to read what all y'all been up to. I took Freckles on a visit this morning then to the dog park this afternoon.

Hi, Gals...
I'm sleeping and sneezing and now watching the Final Four. VIllanova just demolished OK and now Syracuse and North Carolina are up.

Winds are finally dying down here...and it's to warm tomorrow when winds shift from NW to SW.

Jane

Marilyn

Oregon State Beavers play UConn tomorrow

jane

Mary...what a loving memorial for your John!

We're in warming trend here...50s already..and we haven't seen that for days, and the high winds have blown on east.

Like Marilyn, I'm still not smelling or tasting anything, not hearing well, and still sneezing.  :o. Luckily, the only thing we have on our schedule that's a must do is Ray's stress test on Tuesday.  We've tried to keep him for getting this cold, and so far it seems to be working.  Sure hope that continues, at least through Tuesday!

Have a blessed Sunday.

I hope GinnyAnn, Sue, and Molly find us here soon.

Jane

JeanneP

I am surprised that Sue hasn't come in yet.  She is a daily writer.  Maybe problem with her computer.
JeanneP

jane

She had some dental problems to take care of and some other business, I believe.  I, too,  hope she and GinnyAnn, Diane,  and Molly will find us soon.
