jane, glad you had a good visit with Patricia.

Jeanne, we were at the beach for a week - the usual time. It's just a long drive, but one we're willing to make.

Sue and I got back to Margaret's house about 6 pm - not too bad a drive. But we were glad to be out of the car. Margaret and her car load (Jesse, Darby & Henry) got here about an hour later.

It was a good week - especially fun to have children again - for the first time in many years. We had Henry, who managed to charm everybody of all ages. And Granddaughter Alison's three foster kids (ages 13, 9, and 2) were delightful. All had a good time playing in the ocean and in the small pool that we had. We picked the house I rented this year because it had an elevator.  Then it also had a pool built in to the deck area. It was unexpected and I certainly would not have picked the house for that. But the pool was a huge success. I've already reserved the same house for the same time next year.

Now at Margaret's until I can get COVID tested tomorrow and get the results back.

Hope everybody is doing well, and staying cool.

Good morning, Mary Z. and every Buddy looking in this morning.  I am a slow poke this morning and really need to get outside for my down hill/up hill walk.  I've had breakfast and cleaned up my kitchen, so need to get outside soon.

I hope Every Buddy is well and that you all have a good day planned (and not TOO HOT!).  Have a nice day, Every Buddy.

Sue

Ah....Monday morning again!   :2funny:

Glad you're safely at Margaret's, Mary.  What fun to have the babies and children.

I awoke early, went back to sleep and finally got up about 9:15am.  Decided to do a bit of an outdoor walk, did that...nor very far...and am back and just finished my English muffins with pear cinnamon jelly that's become my morning breakfast.  After I cool down a bit, I'll jump in shower and then decide on a trip to WalMart.

Stay safe and healthy,

jane

Cottoncandy

Good morning gals...I've been up awhile..had my walk..now doing laundry..the temp and the virus is continuing to rise...I'm so bored...but I am going to go to Wally World tomorrow....haven't been in 2 weeks..Jane where do you buy the pear cinnamon jelly? Sounds good to me..Mary glad you had good family time...I sure miss my little ones...Jeanne you sound like me...tired of same ole thing every day..covid..Sharon hope you and yours are ok..Hi to Sue..Marlyin and all looking in

SCFSue

Good morning Every Buddy.  I've walked down to the corner and back up hill this morning.  It's sunny and warm outside and I enjoyed the walk.  However, I'm glad I finished that a bit ago as it is going to be very hot here today.

I hope Every Buddy is feeling well, not too hot and enjoying your day.  If you're staying inside to keep cool, that's a good thing!

If you are staying inside, I hope you have things to keep you busy and not bored.  My worst problem these days is being bored!

I'm planning a little yard work when I finally cool down enough to work on the over grown sidewalk!  Have a nice day, Every Buddy and stay cool!

Darlene...on Amazon...Southern Airs brand.  YUMMY!!

We went out this morning to go to the Health Department to get our COVID tests. It was easy/peasy - give them some ID information, stay in your car, and get your nose swabbed.  Took maybe 5 minutes total. They only contact us if the results are positive. We can get negative results via text or online. That'll be probably tomorrow - and what I need to be able to get back to my place. Margaret went to Aldi, and then we went to her friend's house for an outside visit. Her friend (Ruth) had gotten me a sack of yarn at a yard sale (really nice stuff!), and we picked that up. Then back home.  Margaret was going to mow (riding mower for her several acres), but then there was a quick shower, so no mowing until that dries off.  I get to decide what I want to work on with new yarn to play with.

Jane...I looked on Amazon..only saw jam or preserves...not jelly

jane

I guess it's listed as jam....but it's wonderful and spreads thinly.  I love it on toasted English muffins and then add a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.  I sent you a link to what I buy.  It's wonderful, I think.

Going to quit ordering things on line until back to normal. I have gotten the last 2 thing wrong. I can use the one today as it was a Wrist brace to help my thumbs and wrist from now typing to much. Had one already that can us on both hands but wanted this different type one for just the right hand. Turned out it just will go on the left.

The other thing being they sent me the wrong type of Shampoo.
Still hot here and rains some at night. Roof man was out today to see what my roof leak problem .He had just come back from Vacation and his partner who was out 2 weeks ago and figured the problem had left on his. He didn't leave any notes on what he found. So The one today has worked on my place 30 years so just starting from beginning. Tore some off and sealed and will come every other day to check out and do little more. Told him just do all it needs no reason to fill me in on it.I know it is going to cost be needs doing.

State have now moved my getting new drivers lic. and plate sticker until Nov. 1  . So I not bothering about that either. should have been April.Be time for the 2021 by the time they figure things out. Nov will be screwed up with the elections and and after that all the arguing will happen specially if Trump doesn't win. What a year Eh! Who would have thought.

Long as we all still well. I forget the rest.

SharonE

Hi Gals. Mary's beach visit sounded great with the kids and pool. Hope you get the negative notification tomorrow. Enjoy your yarn.

I'm fine, Darlene, just bored like the rest.

Jane, glad you had a good visit. Wish I could have someone visit. However, they are adding some games and exercise classes for us. I'm going to try to sign up for Scrabble on Thurs, but they only take 10 at a time.

Tomorrow I go for the renal scan. Doubt they'll find anything, but we'll see. I think I will stop at the grocery or Walgreens on the way home. Your breakfast sounds great. I often have Eng muffins with peanut butter or cheese or jelly.

Sue, you are so good about walking and working in the yard. Wish I could still do it. Jeanne, glad they are working on your roof finally. That is such a worry. It's 2:15 AM, so I better try to go  to sleep. Stay safe. Sharon

SCFSue

Good morning Every Buddy!  Sharon, I hope you're now able to sleep peacefully.  I hate days when I get in bed and have something on my mind and can't get to sleep!  I'm hoping Tim comes over today because I need to go to the bank up town to resolve some issues.  I want to close that account and put the money some other place.  The bank is renovating and I think that is the reason they called me about my account.

I hope Every Buddy looking in has a nice day planned--and that you all may be able to stay cool!

Sue

SharonE

Hi Gals. I'm already stressed today. First I was tired, then we decided Bunny was sick--isn't eating or doing her business and I have the scan at 2:00. John took Bunny all the way back to our old vet who still has her records and left her. They will keep her till I pick her up or call them & find out what's going on. I'm afraid it is her liver again. She was 12 in April, so we will be lucky to have her much longer, I'm afraid if it is her liver. Not the news I wanted first thing this AM.

I did get to sleep at 2:00 or so and got up at 8:30, so did get some sleep.  All for now. Sharon

jane

It seems many of us had that really off night.  I, too, couldn't get to sleep and had to resort to a pill.

We had a good rain shower this morning, then it cleared and I decided I needed to walk...did a mile ... and clouds reappeared as did the humidity and I came home soaked from the heat and sweat.  My shower time felt so good. Mow looking like another rain storm outside.

Fresh corn on the cob is here and I so love it.

Back to Netflix for this afternoon.

jane

Good morning Every Buddy.  I've been up and dressed for a while and hope to get outside soon for my morning walk.  It's already pretty hot here and I know it will get even hotter!

I hope Every Buddy is feeling well and having a good morning.  Take care and try to stay cool!

Such weather we are having if it is not up in the 90s then it is storming. Bad tornado 6 miles from me yesterday and so many trees down. Wind was 75 miles.. TV weather men can scare the heck out of some people. notice some leaving their homes.

I checked the roof inside the front bathroom and called the company working on the roof. They did just put some soft seal on the seams the other day which has to set. Watching    to see that it holds until 4 days of no rain.
Whole roof has to be done over. Seems to not be wet inside. No point worrying as more storms to day.
Had this man for things for 40 years he will get things put in good shape again when it dries. now he tells me he is retiring so there goes him along with my handy man and the yard man. All gotten 40 years ago. Same happened now with my  doctors.  2 quit since this virus started. ENT is one.  Need to get a new primary. Guess that happens when we got old. Could move but hate to do it....
Think will just read more today. Watch that I don't eat every 3 hours like I did yesterday. Not large amounts but not most healthy either. Weight staying same...

Marilyn

Hello every buddy. I've been lurking here reading every day. I don't have much to say. I'm not getting out except to walk the dog, stop at a neighbors to visit in the afternoon, and go to dinner on Friday nights. I order my groceries from Instaart and they are delivered in about 2 hours or less after I place my order. I have also ordered from Walmart and  picked them up every couple of weeks. I am going to lunmch with a couple of friends next Taco Tuesday.

maryz

Marilyn and Jeanne, I don't think any of us have much to say right now.  Everybody just staying in and trying to stay well.

I did get out for a while this morning. Margaret took me to the eye doc for my followup glaucoma check. When I saw him for the initial visit a month ago, he didn't think I needed to be doing anti-glaucoma drops. So he had me stop, then recheck in a month. It still looks like it's not a problem, but I'm to go back in 3 months for another check. That's an expensive medicine, so I'm glad to take that off my list.  Margaret had a bunch of other errands to run, so I was just along for the ride for the rest of the morning.

Margaret's friend got me a big sack of yarn at a yard sale while we were gone. It's really nice stuff - quite a variety. Of course, she wouldn't let me pay her, but I've already knitted her a headband out of some of it as a "thank you".

No results yet from our Covid test, but I'd think it they were positive, the results would be quicker in getting back to us - at least I hope so.

jane, I dearly love the fresh corn on the cob, too.  Margaret picked a few ears yesterday, and we had it for dinner last night - not really ready for the picking, but she couldn't resist. And it was delicious! We've also been having cherry tomatoes and squash, right out of her garden.  Yum!

Sharon, how is Bunny? You didn't post yesterday, and I know you were worried.

Stay cool, Buddies!

Good Afternoon, Buddies!

Glad to read everyone is doing ok.

Mary...nice to get good yarn!

Hi to Marilyn, Jeanne, and Sue, Sharon, Darlene....stay cool.

Today was my annual "wellness" visit...nothing much to it.  BP ok at 130/70 and she listened to my lungs and heart and carotid arteries and everything apparently perking along ok.  Got my prescriptions in hand and now need to go to hospital for blood work one of these morning...fasting, of course.   :(

Stay safe and healthy!

jane

SharonE

Mary, I think it was a false alarm. Anyway, the vet got her to do her thing and then she ate and drank. Same today. The vet says some dogs hold everything in when they are scared of a storm and then don't want to eat. She has been scared of the storms, but this is a new reaction. She slept by my bed till she was sure the storm was gone, then went back to the couch. She has a bed, but it is in the den and farther from us, so she prefers the couch. She's not spoiled or anything!

I had to go for my scan in Pineville, quite aways, and then I called the vet and found out I could pick Bunny up, so drove another 15 miles and then back all the way. A lot of driving for me. I haven't heard the results of my scan yet--probably tomorrow, but the tech didn't seem concerned. I was a little concerned about going to the hospital for the scan because of Covid, but they had everything very well organized and sanitized.

Marilyn, glad you're getting out a little. Your girl lunch should be fun. Is someone staying with Keith?

I'm going to play Scrabble tomorrow afternoon if enough sign up. I was the first. We also got a note that they would deliver a small wine and cheese and crackers tomorrow before dinner. That was a surprise.

My PT came this AM and did his thing. I hope it is helping. Hard to tell.

Jane, I don't have Netflix. Do they have nice women films on it? I don't like blood and guts or slapstick comedy. Not that I'm picky or anything! :) Glad your checkup was ok.

Jeanne, it is hard when you lose workmen or doctors. I'm glad your old one is going to repair your roof anyway.

Not much else going on here.  Stay safe, everyone! Sharon

Marilyn

Sherry no there isn't anyone stayig with Keith. The housekeeper/caretaker is only here for 2 hours on Thursdays now. That is  all the time I am alotted for the year I get reimbursed  $1200 for the year. Last year it was $1500 he doesn't really need anyone to stay with him yetThe time will come when I have to be here all the time or hire someone to stay with him, the other  alternative is to put him into a care facility but he isn't ready for that yet.

JeanneP

Marilyn.  Just check out the Senior Care in your town or go to talk to the State of County Nursing home in the area for info on how to get the Service on the Pickup daily home help for Seniors. Bus picks up and gone for about 4 hours then drop of at home.Dr. should have the info any Senior Centre. I comes under Medicare and Medicaid both. Even just a couple days will help you.

Hi Gals. Mary, if you do start having to take glaucoma drops, Publix is the cheapest for one kind. There are 2 different ones prescribed. John's down to one now.
Of course, you were probably smart enough to get MC D for Rx's. John didn't. I do.

Jeanne, good info for Marilyn. Marilyn, I'm glad Keith doesn't have to have someone with him all the time yet.

I cleaned the baths this AM, then the maintenance men came and put adhesive strips on my shower floor. It's kind of slick, especially when there is soap on it.

I'm leaving soon to play Scrabble. Hope there is someone to play and nice. Since I only know one couple here, I would love to make some new friends.

Another thunderstorm last night. Bunny wasn't happy. No other news. Stay safe.

jane

Nice morning here, and I got out to walk...and it's heating up now.  I was glad to get home.

Only exciting thing here is a haircut at 3:00.

Stay safe and healthy,

jane

maryz

Covid test was negative! I get to go home this afternoon! I still have to quarantine there for two weeks, but I can handle that (as I could here, too).

Sharon, I don't have to take the drops any more, but I did get the Medicare part D for Rx.

jane

Hurrah for negative!

Jane

SharonE

Ditto on Jane's hurrah for Mary's negative. I haven't heard about my scan yet.

I went over to play Scrabble and no one was signed up, so I ended up playing checkers with an elderly man and met his wife too. I really had forgotten the rules and he wasn't too sure either, but he won.

John's gone to the grocery now and I'm waiting for Brookdale to deliver our wine and cheese hors d'oeuvre.

I just finished doing my PT exercises and am going to lie down and read, I think.  Sharon

maryz

Sorry nobody showed up for Scrabble, Sharon, but I understand.  Bingo is probably very popular - it is here (sorry).

I'm back in my apartment and have about got everything put back in place.  And it turns out I only have to quarantine here for a week - and then can go back to dining room, etc.

Mary...you've had a negative Covid, but I suppose they're afraid you somehow contracted it since the test.

I got my haircut so that feels better.

Stay safe and healthy,

jane

maryz

jane, lucky you ... getting a haircut.  Margaret had made me an appointment with her gal for tomorrow, but I chose coming back to my place. I haven't had a "real" haircut since early March, but it has been whacked off a time or two.  Soon, I hope.
