It sounds like everyone was busy yesterday with one thing or another.  I haven't been very productive. I was up till 3:30 last night, so am dragging today, but had to get up at 8:00 because my cleaning girl was coming. A mixed blessing.  I did get the laundry done yesterday and have the sheets in now. Sandra will remake the bed with them.

Mary, you were especially busy yesterday.  I do hope you get all your paperwork done for that investment. Don't like to hear that your BP is up. Not good.  That is probably the only thing I don't have wrong with me!! Glad you're back to swimming with your buds. I know you enjoy that.

Jeanne, be careful working out in the yard. You don't want to fall or get sick.  We learned a long time ago not to feed the squirrels.  If they want to eat the seed that falls out of the feeders, okay, but generally, Bunny keeps them at bay.

It rained some last night, but not nearly enough.  It was 62 while ago!  Back to the 50's the rest of the week.

Sue, glad you got stocked up on books again.  Good that Tim includes you in the financial things instead of trying to take over like some kids do.

Marilyn & Ginny Ann, check in.  Sharon

Good morning, Buddies.  Just a quickie here.  I'm bathed, dressed, and ready to go to my bridge game at Azalea Place (a retirement residence) where I play once a month.  I'm the hostess, so had to prepare the prize envelopes and take some candy to put on the bridge tables after we eat lunch--still need to do that.  Thank goodness I only have to do this once a year.  Most of the members live at Azalea Place and Brownie, our leader, called all of them, so I didn't have to do that.  I hope the lunch is better than last time.  A.P. has new management and unfortunately they lost their best cook and servers--so it's been mediocre at best.

Have a nice day, Every Buddy.
Sue  (p.s.  it's sunny, but very chilly here today!)

Joy, I take Irbesartan (I think that's the generic name).  It includes a diuretic.  I take the smaller dose now, but my doc indicated she might increase the dosage if my BP didn't stay down on my home checks.

Marilyn, hope all goes well at the DMV.

Joy, I'm not familiar with the names of any of the others you mentioned.  I don't have any problems with mine, and have been taking it for a number of years.

My friend, Tina, is here visiting from upstate NY.  She'll be here until Sunday - I don't what we'll be doing.  I'm glad our weather is going to be nice the rest of the week.

Happy Hump Day, Buddies!

Happy Birthday Jane...Darlene

jane

Thanks for the birthday greetings.  Yesterday was nice....lunch out with the "girls" and then dinner out with hubby.  Cards and phone calls, too, so a good day.

This morning we went to the Wed. coffee and we both won "prizes" ....Ray got a box of candy, and I got a 500 piece puzzle.  It's nice for the rainy days.

It's raining this morning, but warm...and I have a hair appt at 1:00.  Time for a haircut.

I, too, take Losartan for my blood pressure.

Laundry to do here, too, after the hair appt.

Have a good Wed!

Happy Birthday, Jane, and many more!  I hope today in "Paradise" is a beautiful one for you and Ray.  Enjoy your day.  (I just saw your post and am happy you're having a good day.  Woo Hoo on winning prizes at the Wed. coffee.)

Mary, what fun to have a visit from Tina.  I hope the weather stays nice so you can get out and about if you all want to do that.  How long will she stay?

Hi Darlene,  I hope you're feeling well and having a good day, too!

Hi Joy.  I see by your post that you aren't crazy about taking meds, either!  I guess we just have to suck it up and do what the doctors say--but Yuck, anyway!

Marilyn, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying that you'll do well on the Driver's test as it is so important that you can continue driving since Keith should NOT get under the wheel!  Keep us posted.

Hi Sharon.  What are you doing today?  I hope feeling much better and getting all your exercises in.

I'm playing bridge at 1:00 this afternoon.  Olyne called about an hour ago as she had a cancellation and our regular subs couldn't make it.  I gave her Bonney's phone number and hope she reaches her.  This is Bonney's regular Wednesday morning duplicate club at the Rec Center and she usually joins some military wives for lunch afterwards.  They are usually finished by 12:45, so she should be finished in time.

Good morning, Buddies.  I didn't get up until almost 8:00 this morning as I wanted to finish a book I was reading last night and stayed up past my bedtime!  I've had breakfast, been outside to drag downed limbs down to the curb, read the paper, and now it's almost 11:00.  Tim is coming by about 1:00 this afternoon.  We need to go to my bank and do some paperwork there.  So we're not having lunch together this week.  Tomorrow I have a lunch date with Kris and Ard.

It's still pretty chilly here, I haven't checked the temperature on the Weather Channel, but it's got to be in the 40's.  I did work up a sweat dragging the downed limbs to the curb, though.  Two of them were pretty long and I couldn't find the saw I needed to cut them into smaller pieces.  I'm afraid the trash pick up on Monday will just leave them lying out there!

Bridge was fun at Olyne's yesterday.  I had a couple of good hands, but mostly so-so hands and didn't win any of the prizes--not even low score!  (which is "get your quarter back".  We are really high stake bridge players here!).  Olyne served a yummy apple tart after the second round and it was enjoyed by everyone.  Sara, one of our regulars, wanted to talk to me before we left.  My cardiologist will do the same heart surgery on her as I had done this past year--and I was happy to tell her that I'm doing very well post surgery--able to walk good distances by myself, do simple chores, cook, laundry, etc. and I think (and hope) it relieved her mind.

Mary, I'm glad you and Tina are having nice weather for her visit.  Enjoy!

Have a good day, Every Buddy.

Hi everyone...slow Thursday here...having walked yet...it's trying to rain.....Sue...I will be going to the library this afternoon...got to have more books...Marlyin..why do you have to do the driving test....I thought it could just be renewed.  May be different where u live...Happy Thursday...Darlene

We tried to walk outside, but the wind was strong with a real bite to it, so we went to the exercise room instead and used the treadmills.  We also watched two couples playing handball for a bit.

After getting our 30 min in on the treadmill, we went to Russo’s for their Thursday pizza special and then on to the grocery.  The joints and muscles are aching more each hour, so I think Darlene is sure right about rain coming.  We are planning on a quiet afternoon of reading.

Jane

Darlene.  Now here in Illinois after 84 have to get a new license every year. Darn it.  I don't understand why as other State like Texas it seems like every ten years after age 80. Here at 80 it is 2 years.  Don't take a written one but just take a driving one all around town.
I would think if not had a accident for years and your Insurance accepts you then they should ease up on it. They want to get money here anyway they can. License plates keep going up and up every year.

Hi Gals, sorry I'm late posting.  I slept till 8:30 and was planning to go to the grocery early, but my back was hurting, so took a tramadol and waited for it to work. Got there about 11:30. I walked and pushed the cart and did it all by myself as John has 2 morning appts.  When I got home he was back and brought everything in for me.  By the time that was put away and I had finished lunch, it was about time to go to the doctor's for my last synvisc injection.  It really hurt this time, as it is now full of gel. I put ice on it when I got home. I was really tired with all the walking.

Sue, glad your bridge was fun. Please be careful dragging those branches around.  It was sunny & 50 here today, but some wind.

Jane, so glad you had a good day yesterday and won the prizes, etc.  The treadmill is a good alternative when it is cold and windy out.  I could go to the gym to use one, but I usually just use my bicycle instead.

I don't take BP meds per se, but I am on Coreg (cardividoral) for my cardiomyopathy. That holds the blood pressure down to some extent, but mine tends to be low anyway.  At one time they put me on Losartan, but I had some reaction to it and quit it.

I have to renew my license every 5 yrs, but just an eye test and renewal.  I don't know what the rules are after age 80, but next renewal, I'll find out! I also have to get the "Real ID" driver's license next year if I don't want to use my passport to fly.

Mary have fun with Tina.  It's always good to visit with old friends for an extended period.

Hi to Darlene. Enjoy reading all your new books.

I had fun at bridge yesterday too, but finished in the middle.  Made one small slam, but unfortunately hadn't bid past game!  Sharon

Just a quickie to say good night.  Tim and I went to an early lunch at our favorite Mexican place not far from my house and also Kroger, so we got our shopping done early, too.  Tomorrow I'm going to lunch with Kris and Ard about 12:30.  I think we're going to Chappy's deli  (the place Tim won't go anymore, but we gals like).  We won't go until about 12:30 as Ard still works at the hospital on Friday until noon and they'll drive over here from there.

Sleep well Buddies.

I had the PET scan on Tuesday , the worst part of it was getting the radio active dye injection .  It took 3 jabs , first she said it was her fault , second was mine because I moved . Both of those were in my arm , last one was on the back of my hand .  She pushed & pushed & the needle wouldn't go in & when it did it hurt like crazy !   The scan was in close quarters but I got through it okay .
When I went into the waiting room my husband jumped out of the chair with his arms out & said "now we can eat !" He had the room laughing . He had breakfast but I had to fast .

maryz

We are having a good visit.  A mutual friend who has also moved away came in town to visit, too. So we've done lots of talking (and eating).  Tina left some stuff in a storage unit here, and has been going through it and deciding what to keep and what to pitch, so that's kept her busy, too.  Sue and Margaret will be coming in tomorrow - Margaret for the day, and Sue for overnight so she can head home to SC from here.  It'll be crowded in my place for a little while.  :smitten:

My driver's license and passport were both renewed when I turned 80 - and both (as I remember) were for 10 years.  I was surprised at the driver's license.  But I just did it on line, and they used the last photo that they had in cyberstorage for it.  I always use my passport for airline ID in any case.  I know SC has had to change theirs.

alpiner, hope all is well with the scan.

Sharon, I hope the synvisc continues to work for you, and that the initial pain lets up soon.

Sue, I'm with the others - take it easy on that yard work.  You certainly don't want to fall again.

jane, I do envy you the beach - even on the cold rainy days.  Have you reserved for next year?

Lots of Buddy Hugs from here!

Good morning, Buddies.  I have the weather channel on this morning and so far our temperature is in the high 40's and supposed to get up into the 60's tomorrow.  I've been outside to pick up the paper and read it as I was having breakfast.  I've started the dishwasher and also have a load of wash in the washer, so will probably read until Kris and Ard get here about 12:30 to go to lunch at Chappy's Deli.

Afterwards I'll probably read and watch basketball games.  I am reading a Nora Roberts novel and might finish it today.  Other than folding and putting away the laundry and the clean dishes, I don't have much in the way of household chores to do.

Alpiner, I'm glad the PET scan is finished, but sorry about the problem with the injections.  I hope you get the results of the scan soon.

Mary, I'm glad you and Tina are having fun--and that she's getting her storage thingie cleaned out.  I'll bet you'll be glad to see Sue and Margaret, too.  I miss my sons who live so far away, but phone calls help--and both call at least once a week.  Tim has been a great help here--I don't think I could have made it by myself at home without him.

Have a nice day, Every Buddy.  I'm off to put laundry into the dryer and will read until Kris and Ard arrive.

Yes, we've put down our deposit for next year.

Mary...glad you're enjoying your time with Tina and friends.

Foggy, foggy morning at the beach.  We walked the beach for a bit...Ray went on further than I did...and I came back and put my feet in the hot tub.

Laundry is going and we'll get the sheets back on the bed in a bit.

Nothing else exciting here.

Good almost afternoon, Buddies.  I've just been putzing around and reading this morning.  I want to finish a book I'm reading and get over to the library before it closes at 2:00, but might not make it.  I won't be able to get over there tomorrow as it doesn't open until 2:00 on Sunday and I have a basketball game at 4:00.

It's warmer today, but still chilly to me.  Not much else going on here on Saturday except men's basketball on TV.  I see that I've already missed the first half of the South Carolina game, so I'm going to bring my lunch into the den so I can watch the second half.  We're behind a bit, but I hope we can catch up.  The game is being played in Columbia, so that's a help.

Have a nice Saturday, every Buddy.

Good morning, Jane, and Every Buddy looking in.  It is rainy and dreary here this morning.  I woke up at the usual 7:00 a.m. and have had breakfast, dressed for church and talked to Olyne on the phone after reading the newspaper.  We are not going to the breakfast meeting in Baird Hall this morning.   So I'm dressed and ready at 9:15 and she will pick me up about 10:30--probably might have to park across the street in the Methodist lot.  I met the guest pastor yesterday afternoon at the library.  She was there with one of our members who was waiting for the AU Hotel which is across the street from the church to open for registration.  He was showing her some of the downtown area.  There was a pot luck dinner last night at 5:00 in Baird Hall, but I didn't go and neither did Olyne.

I have a women's basketball game at 4:00.  My friend will pick me up between 3:15 and 3:30.  We'll sit in my seats as hers are not as good as mine and she will give her ticket to someone who is waiting to buy one.  Yesterday AU men played here and the entire arena was full.  We won't even have 2 sections filled, maybe less because of the rain.  It amazes me that fans will attend every thing a guy plays, but not women's events!  However, our guys are #1 in the SEC now, so that's another reason fair weather fans will be there!

I'll come home after the church service and get into jeans and a sweat shirt for our game.  I'll probably start another book I got from the library yesterday.  I finished the Mary Balogh book I started yesterday afternoon.

GinnyAnn, I'd sure like to see a post from you!

Have a peaceful Sunday, Buddies.
Sue

Tina left this morning, so it's much quieter around here.  It was a great visit.  She had gotten a storage unit for some stuff when she moved from here two years ago, and her main plan was to see what was there and to get it emptied.  It took a lot of work and research on her part, but she finally was able to get it shipped by UPS.  She got the stuff taken to them, and they will pack and ship it for a reasonable price.  In the meantime, we went out to dinner each evening to a variety of places with different friends.  And Sue and Margaret were here yesterday, so that was extra-special.  I have to say there may be a nap coming up this rainy afternoon.  It will feel good, too, to get back to swimming in the morning.

Did I mention about Margaret?  She's having four weeks of daily radiation, starting tomorrow. She's ready to "get it on and get it over with".

Sue, I hope your gals do well today.

jane, glad you're getting some nice weather.  We've got a good week coming up, but there's been a mention of s**w on Friday.  I hope it's just flurries.

Greetings to Marilyn, Darlene, alpiner, Joy, Ginny Ann - and all our other Buddies!

Sharon, has the Synvisc injection kicked in?  I hope so.

Hi Gals.  I was busy much of yesterday.  Both John and I were chosen to write Lenten devotions. This is the 3rd yr I've done it and  the 2nd for John.  We got those written, edited, typed and emailed to the stewardship committee chair.  I also messed with John's computer some and then he wanted new business cards because our email addresses have changed.  The last time I tried to print some, the card stock wouldn't feed through the printer intake, but that must have been my old printer as it did fine this time. I have our pictures on the cards, so wanted them in color.  John uses them more than I do with his new bridge friends.

Today, we went to SS & church, of course. Our pastor and several members left this week on the Israel trip. I hope they stay safe.  It was raining fairly hard when we left church.  Since then, I've finished reading the paper, put in two loads of laundry, ate lunch, and put together a chicken/noodle casserole for dinner. I hope it is good. It's a Sherry Surprise, not from a recipe.

Mary, I bet you're napping now. It's always tiring having company, however much you enjoy them.  I dozed off some while I was reading the paper.

Sue, hope your girls win. Nice that you have a friend to accompany you. (& take you).

Jane, hope your weather is nice today. Have a blessed Sunday.

Hi to everyone else.  Sharon

Our Auburn ladies played really well and although they started out slowly, they roared to a big win over Alabama.  Lots of Alabama fans were sitting in my section and their children were yelling insults at our players--which might have been what fired us up!

Mary, it sounds like Tina managed to get lots taken care of before she went home.  I know you enjoyed her visit.  I'm glad Margaret's radiation is starting and hope all goes well with it.  The four weeks will go by faster than she realizes it.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good results.  Keep us posted.

Sharon, you've had a busy weekend.  I hope you rest well tonight.

Take care, every Buddy.

Sharon, I'm so sorry you could not join your pastor group and come for a cup of coffee!
That would have been fun to meet like that.

I have another friend from Sweden that comes with her church group and it is always a pleasure to meet.  I hope your group will have some sunshine: the rain seems to have finally relented.

SCFSue

Good morning, Buddies.  It's a pleasure to see you here, Bubble!  I hope Sharon's friends have a nice trip to Israel, too.  Come back and visit us soon.

It's nice and sunny here and I've managed to clean up the kitchen after breakfast and paper reading, but other than my shower and dressing, not much else.  I have been outside to bring the trash barrel back up the driveway and the smaller containers for paper goods into the house.  Tim usually comes by on Monday mornings to see if I'm OK and also to check up on paper work.  We're beginning to collect items for my income tax.  He's been in touch with my accountant and thankfully she'll take care of it again.

I've been over to the fence consoling my new neighbor's very large dog.  He is unhappy to be inside his enclosure although he has food and water.  I'm hoping he'll be come accustomed to his new home soon and be content when his owner is at work.  It'll take a while, I think.  He could probably get outside the fence if he were out of his enclosure.

Have a good day, Buddies.  I'll probably be back later in the afternoon.
Sue
