Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Darlene...is everything OK now when you come in here?  The posts are in chronological order...oldest to newest, which makes the most sense to me.

We've got lots of cold, rainy, windy days ahead of us.  We were planning to go out for Taco Tuesday, but it's so nasty out there and we had a late lunch at Olive Garden, so we're eating things here.

You would not BELIEVE how cold it has become here in Annapolis!  We are to have a FREEZE tonight!  Brrrrrr!

I went to physical therapy today, and then to the medical supply place to pick up my second pair of $78 socks that were on backorder.  Then we got caught up in a horrific traffic jam, because a FUEL truck had somehow gotten completely overturned at a big intersection we normally drive through to get home.  And it was leaking fuel.  And lines and lines of cars were driving every which way to try to find their way SOME where.  We, Chip & I, just wanted rather desperately to get HOME!  So Chip went up this street and down that, hoping to find a way.  It took ages, but he finally did.  We came out just on the Other side of the mess and sprinted for home.  Yay!

Cottoncandy

Yes Jane. Working now Thanks for ur help. Darlene

Molly

MARILYN - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!  Who gets to hold the White Roses for you? ;)

Marilyn

Molly Red or Purple.  I have both growing right outside my front door. I am hoping they bloom at the right time.

Freckles and I had a good time at the head Start school this morning, She did her usual of trying to sit in the kids lap and they loved it. I don't allow her to pick up anything from the floor to eat, because in the hospitals you never know what could possibly fall on the floor that would harm her in some way like medications. So to demonstrate this I throw a small treat on the floor and tell her to "leave it" and she sits so nicely and waits for me to pick it up and hand it to her after she gives me a High Five for being a good dog. That always amazes both the students and the teachers. Then I tell her to stay and drop her leash and turn my back and walk away, she sits at attention watching me until I say OK then she comes to me. She has a few other little tricks that she does. One she only does at home most of the time is to flop down and roll on her back with her feet in the air  when I say "Bang"

I'm just in to say goodnight.  I'm not in a good mood, though, as I watched the UConn/Syracuse game and Gino did it again.  I just once in my remaining lifetime want to see a team, any team, really squash his team and run the score up like he does!  I'll probably have trouble going to sleep, but I've already gone out to the kitchen and poured a glass of wine--so hopefully not.

I hope you've all had a good day, and if you were pulling for UConn, please don't tell me!

Sue

MaryPage

If it is any consolation, Sue, I do not follow any sports at all.

Beautiful but cold day here on the bay.  I have not been outside yet to see what last night's freeze did to our fairy land of bloom, but as I look out my back windows here I see pear and cherry and forsythia looking beautiful and vibrant.

jane

Sue....nope, not a U CONN fan.  I like to see other teams win championships...like Villanova over UNC.  I feel the same about all levels from high school through the pros.

A bit warmer today, but still raining off and on.  I,ve been to the bank to put our new passports in a safe deposit box and to cash in March 1986 EE bonds.  They were a good buy back when Ray was working.

I'm off to have lunch and play bridge, I hope.  Ray's down with his leg elevated, and will be here today...no swimming for fear of infection for a while yet.

I was so hoping the Oregon state beaver ladies would beat Uconn, they had such a great year and were undefeated but Uconn got them too.

Thhis morning Freckles and i go to Baycrest Rehab and Living facility then this afternoon to the Memory Care facility. At  Baycrest we will have 4 teams  we usually have 6,and just 2 at Memory care.

MaryPage

I like the name Beaver Ladies.  The beaver is the animal on my personal totem pole.  What a remarkable creature!

Marilyn

A Beaver is the Oregon State animal, The Oregon state University are the Beavers. University of Oregon are the Ducks

Hi Buddies.  I got a call at 8:00 a.m. this morning from the pastor's wife of my church down in Union Springs.  One of our older ladies down there died and the funeral was this morning (graveside).  It was to start at 10:30, so I had to hustle to eat breakfast, shower and dress.  I made it on time.  Our pastor down there had been in Augusta, GA for the golf tournament and had to drive back this morning.  He made it on time, too.  Lots of people there, mostly old friends and people who I recognized from church and my teaching days at the private school where I spent 4 years until I could get certified by Alabama (after having current certificates from 4 other states!).  I went to summer school classes to get the things they thought I needed.  HA!  One was Algebra which I didn't have to take at USC because my entrance exam in that was high enough to skip it!  Also a speech class and teaching of Science to Elementary Students.  Unbelievable!

MaryPage, it's OK with me if you aren't interested in basketball. When we argued as young girls, we always heard about Mrs. Murphy kissing the cow.  I think it was supposed to remind us that we each had different interests and that was OK.  I forget why Mrs. Murphy kissed the cow, but it always made us laugh.

Jane, me, too, about UConn.  I think it's time someone else won.  I know he must be a good coach, but he is just so arrogant.  I was very happy with Villanova winning the men's championship.  What a game and what an amazing last minute ending!

Marilyn, I'm not sure if even the men's champions could beat Gino's women.  I was pulling for your Lady Beavers, too.  You and Freckles are so good to bring cheer to those homes.  I know the residents love to see you.

I had a nice walk this afternoon up to the cemetery, around once and back home.  This took about 25 minutes, so I got at least a bit of exercise today.  I need to curtail eating in the evening and do more walking.  All my pants are too tight around the middle.

Have a nice evening, Every Buddy!
Sue

jane

I had a nice day at bridge, even if my cards were lousy.

One of the gals is headed to the Mayo Clinic for evaluation on her back.  She has three bulging disks and has a hard time sleeping.

Nothing new here....still cold and rainy.

Jane

MaryPage

We have a drizzly day, gloomy as can be.  I am off this very minute for Physical Therapy and a run by the large grocery to fill up a few bags and then, gratefully, Home!  Whew!  I get to stay home, warm and cozy, for the rest of the day!  Love to the Buds from MP

jane

It looks as if our weather of the past several days has reached MP!  We now have a bright, sunny day, so better weather is coming, MP.  We haven't seen the sun for quite a few days now, and it's very welcomed.  Now, to get the temps to warm up.

Have a good Thursday!

Jane

SharonE

Hi Gals, the cold front has reached us. We had some rain last night and supposed to have freezing temps over night which is really late for us. Cold through the weekend and then to warm up.

I was in a lot of pain yesterday and didn't make it to the grocery, so will be heading there later.  John is at the eye dr's to see about his glaucoma. His optometrist was concerned and sent him to an ophthamologist specializing in glaucoma. I'm really worried as he only has sight in one eye, so if the pressure gets too bad in that eye, he could end up blind. I'm anxious to hear what the dr. says.

The prednisone has kept me from sleeping well for the past 2 nights. Bunny also woke me twice to go out. I'm glad she is that well trained, but it didn't help my sleep pattern. I guess I will let her sleep in the great room from now on where she has access to the doggie door to go out on her own. Sometimes she barks in there though at varmints out back.

Sue, it sounds like the funeral was a good chance to reconnect with people from your former area. Good for you for exercising. I wish I had the energy.

MP, how is your back doing now? Since you aare going out and about, it must be a lot better. I hope I can get my grocery shopping done today without too much pain. If it gets too bad, I'll have to use a motorized cart. I'm glad they are available, but I don't like using them.

Jane, I hope Ray's leg heals quickly. I know that is a problem for diabetics though.

Hi to everyone.  Sharon

Marilyn

Good Morning I have a free day today, just going by the Church around the corner to see if they have anything I need I heard they are having a huge free garage sale today.

I have the crockpot going with Beef stew cooking away. Keith and I will probably go over to his office to pick up a few more things. Freckles seems to be doling well on her allergy medication, she got into the cats food yesterday and her face was itchy this morning. I gave her the med and she is sleeping now.

Joyous ....

You see   "Modify   Remove"   because it is
your post

And only you can "modify"  or "remove" it ...
(for a few minutes) ...    Then that will go away.

You are doing great ... not to worry.

Yes Joy...

After  you post,  those show up ...
Which gives  you the opportunity to modify or remove
your post,  if you so desire.

After a few minutes,  that "opportunity"  goes away...
And only "quote"  will remain.
Not to worry...  You are doing great!

It was on the news tonight that if you go to the website safercar.gov and put in your vehicle's VIN, it will tell you the entire history of ANY recalls on that vehicle.  I tried it, and it told me all about my car.  No recalls.  A great service!

JeanneP

That is a good thing to check if you are buy a used car. Specially from a Dealer.  Just writer down the VIN number and can find out everything about it. I have had some dealers not tell you all it has been through.l

Phooey - just lost my post.  I got the estimate on my car repair this morning, and one of the pages had recalls on my vehicle.  Glad to know what that was about.  Thanks, MP.

This is the web site for the Sculpture Fields, which will include the Memorial Forest and is where John's tree is planted (near the red spikey piece).

We had some wild thunderstorms last night, but a lovely cool day today.  Predictions are for frost over the weekend, and then be into the 70s on Monday.  Ah, Spring!

I'm keeping up, but didn't take notes.  It looks like Margaret and I will be taking our road trip over the Mother's Day weekend.  MaryPage, I'm sure you'll be ever so busy with all your family, but maybe we can squeeze in a few minutes sometime when we're in Annapolis.  I'll let you know when we have more specific dates.

Hugs to all the Buddies!

Oh, I DO so hope so, Mary!
