It looks like a big house. I have never seen a truck like that that could raise itself.
It is 2200ft . 5 bedrooms , 2-1/2 baths .

That was just showing 3 of a group of Electric Co. trucks that were preparing to move electric poles then the sidewalk . This is a busy corner and they took space on the right to give two turning lanes and one straight ahead. Without the additional turning lane there were continual backups. This little job covering less than 1/2 block is costing a bit over one million dollars. Appears they usually have a half a dozen working and a dozen supervising.
You do come with some interesting examples Jack. Over one million dollars? They should have the onlookers pay for the spectacle! lol

Bubble that corner has a McDonalds and they will not even lose a parking space (that they need)
Jack, that is a real feat. Here they would simply close the road to everyone for a week, not caring how you would go around. It can be maddening.
They did some sewer work on the main street of the town, right during the touristic season and the shops were faced with piles of sand and debris with almost no access for pedestrians. A real mess. It lasted for over a month. I don't believe they got any compensation, just "a nice street" when all was done.
Bubble I recall seeing a photo of yours once when you had some work in progress. Where is your photo for the contest? (Plus some other entries)
I remember I had some but cannot find them. They probably were lost in the old computer :(

Hi Bubble and Jack. I have a nice Kodak, but have never been the picture taker in my family. Since Bob died in 2002 I've taken a few pictures of my grandsons when they used to visit me in June when they were too young to stay home alone. Now Alex, the oldest, is a freshman in college in Birmingham, AL, about 100 miles from me. I will go up to see him next Saturday, the 16th, which is his birthday. His brother Nick is a high school junior this year.
So keep your photos coming. I really enjoy looking at them.

Sue, if you do not have a little digital, check one out at WalMart or Target. You can get great pocket size ones now, inexpensive. For that matter the iPhones etc do a good job.
Jack and Sue, I went into a Walmart back east while visiting my sister and brother. My brother is a photographer so I said help me pick out a cheap camera. We looked at the specs for each one and chose one for $89. It was a three year old model but takes fine photos. So it can be done. But whether one wants to take photos is another question.

I have a nice Cannon camera that you have to put film in and each picture advances the film. There is a camera shop near me and I took the new film down to the store and the nice gentleman who owns it took my old film out and put the new one in. Some of the pictures on the old film, I'd taken when Alex and Nick were about 8 and 9. I'll have to remember to take my cameral to Birmingham next Saturday when I go visit Alex at Birmingham Southern University. He is a freshman there on full scholarship--and I'm very proud of him.

These films are not available here any more! I had two such cameras that I used a lot when my kids were small. I have given them to a collector now. He thinks they will be worth his keeping since they are in such a good condition. One was an old Rolflex with the viewer as a box folding on top. This was great when in the sun: you could still see what you were shooting at.
I'm not much of a photographer but really enjoy seeing the pics the rest of you take.
My first camera I ever had was an old Kodak brownie camera. I then graduated to a Kodak Disc camera in the late seventies and early eighties that took great pictures even when I took them ;D. They would really collector items now.
My daughter is now the photographer in the family and has a nice digital camera but usually usually used her I-phone.
My sister is always saying she never gets new pictures of her grand kids as her kids take the pics with their I-phones and that's where they stay.

This has been disappointing. I've been among the missing for a while but I'm back and since we have so few entries, let's continue leaving things open for at least another week and see if we can get more.
Somewhere I had a shot or two of trailers being brought into this park and if I'm really lucky, and if I kept them, I'll be able to find them.
And I'm kicking myself because the week before the challenge I was downtown and could have taken a picture of the capitol with scaffolding around it but didn't. If I get downtown before the challenge is over, I'll take one.
Of course, some of our participants haven't found their way back yet.
Guess we are all still finding our way around. JeanneLee hope you do not mind but I put a post in both Photos new and old, and Photo Slide shows asking folks to look in and get involved with the challenges.
PatH2 Now the Capitol and scaffolding would be a great shot.
Jack, a good idea to let the folks in the other photo sites that we're still open for entries. :)
This is a busy season for me so I have not "looked around" this site since all the new construction (pun intended).... so was happy to follow Jack's link to this spot. I don't have any photos that fit the category right now.... busy getting ready for painters to come the first of May. Trimmed a holly bush today that had grown to the top of the house & was rubbing against the side.... can't remember when it was cut back but doesn't seem that long ago. Saw plenty of the orange cones for construction all the way to MO & back last week... was quite a challenge to navigate between them & the concrete dividers in my elephant RV. I'll be back, thanks, Jack!
