Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Oldiesmann: The chat can be accessed from the menu but I don't kow how often anyone is in there

Jack, I enjoyed that video.  Jessie looked as long as she could but just had to scamper after those deer.  Lovely music.

Sato, those were pretty flowers.  I especially like the last photo that had both red and white.  Thank your friend for allowing us to see a little of Yokohama.

Mary Ann

Sato, it is good to see you put in an appearance.  Thank your friend for allowing you to show his pictures; he does a good job.  I did not recognize all of the flowers he showed.

Keep on getting well.

Sato so good to hear from you.  Like the work of your friend but look for your fine work soon.   You master the close ups, I quit bending over, finding it too difficult to get back up. :)

Shirley

Beautiful place to walk, I've never seen flowers like that, wonder if they smell as nice as they are pretty.  Thank your friend for sharing (and you for posting his link).  Glad to see you doing so well and know it is difficult to be confined to a hospital with spring blooming outside.  Best wishes for a speedy recovery.  Shirley

We finally took a little time and wandered off for some picture taking.  I really enjoyed walking in that white, soft sand at the beach.  Got caught by a wave when a tourist kindly took our picture.  Really enjoyed the day which started off with a good breakfast at an old fashioned diner in Niceville and ended with a pulled pork sandwich at Tommy Bahama's.  Larry hates to eat outside but he said it was my day so I enjoyed eating out on their attractive patio.

Jean.  I wondered how you could stand to move from your last town. Looked so perfect. But now I can see, this area looks great also.  That white sand. Love the look of it.  How I miss seeing the ocean.  I think I have made up my mind.  Don't think I could move permanent but will try to spend some of the winters in Florida.  You have given me 2 areas to check up on.

Your husband so tall.  Sort of like my husband and  I Iooked . Me at 5ft. 2 and him at 6ft 2.  Mutt and Jeff.  But them we could wear 5 inch heels to look taller.  Not anymore.
JeanneP

jackwv

Jean that was wonderful.  Great photos and the video of the waves hitting the beach had me dreaming.    Good photo of you and Larry.   I am only 5ft 7 and Shirley was 5ft 5.   She would not wear the high heals so she was not taller, so we always saw eye to eye  :)

Joy

Oh Jean,  you really hit the spot with your trip to the beach today.  Just beautiful pictures

Like Jean said, I,too, thought your previous pictures from Ocala were great, but you have really "hit home"  now,  with the great pictures from your new area;.  The beach looks so inviting. Great picture of you and Larry.  You really are little.  Looks like you both belong right there.  I am so looking forward to more pictures.

I want to get to the beach so bad.  I can't do much walking anymore, but I would be just so happy to be able to sit on a balcony overlooking the ocean.  And, go to some nice beach places to eat.

Thanks so much for taking us along on your day trip. Looking forward to a lot more trips with you.

Have fun and enjoy yourselves.

Joy

Mary Ann

Jean, such a nice trip.  I loved hearing "the ocean's roar".  The buildings looked familiar, such as are in the area where Norm lived or where he traveled around the area.  Are you now in a house or do you live in a condo or high rise.

Mary Ann

FlaJean

Thanks for your comments Jack, JeanneP, Joy and Mary Ann.  We live in a house.  I'll post a picture in the photos album.  It is so nice to be a few blocks from our youngest daughter and have her drop in for a few minutes to "shoot the breeze" as the old saying goes.

Sato

Jean, what nice photos you sent us!!  Love the ocean and white sand beach.  A small boat is fantastic.  Say hello to Larry.  Would like to hear his message.

Hi Sato
Good to see your post.

Loved the show, Jean, and nothing looks familiar of the "quiet little town" we visited about 20 years ago.  All sparkling new buildings, but wonder if the lily pond may be sort of like what we saw.  The sound of the waves gave me a shudder, think I am the only person that holds my breath at sight & sounds of large bodies of water.  No idea why it affects me like it does, guess because it never changes day or night and so powerful.  You did a wonderful job (as you always do).... and see you & Larry are same "Mutt & Jeff" that JeanneP & I belong to, looking good!  I agree, having a daughter or son close enough to stop by is a blessing!

FlaJean

Thanks, Shirley.  you would not like living here if you don't like water.  We have to cross a bridge just to go into  Niceville.  Of course we have our shopping centers here in our Blue Water Bay Area, but we are just a stone throw away from Niceville and that is our postal address.

And to go into nearby Destin (where the beautiful beaches are) we have to cross the Choctawhatchee Bay on a 3 ½ mile toll bridge.  My daughter tells us that they don't go to Destin much in the summer months because of the tourists.  Ft. Walton Beach is not a problem, it seems.  No toll roads there.  I was raised a few blocks from the Hampton Roads and later by the Chesapeake Bay so it really feels like home to me.

JeanneP

Now what is the name of the Town where you not live.  I need to check it out. I started out life and lived 21 years where could get to the ocean fast.  Miss it so much living in Illinois. Hope I can end my time someplace where I can see and hear the ocean.

JeanneP

FlaJean

I actually live in the county but my postal address is Niceville.

JeanneP

I didn't realize that there was much Country left in Florida.  Do you have acres or are there lots of homes out there.?
JeanneP

Shirley

You are right, Jean, I've been to both coasts & all along the Gulf and traveled to England & back on a ship, I don't want to live near a large body of water.  I made sure when we bought this house that the Arkansas River we join would never come near the house.... not a chance!  I'm not sure why the fear, always been with me and dreaded the week end trips to visit "Grandma"... over the Missouri River & several smaller rivers, especially when the rivers were high & raging.  We went across the MO River one time on a small "raft" (not the correct term), never again!  It was a single car type & floated down river quite a way to the landing, I was terrified... my husband, 3 little kids & none of us wearing life jackets.  The operator was used to doing it all day & was routine for him. We took the long way the next year~ to visit my husband's mother & brother.

Jeanne, I think we all enjoy what we grew up with, I never thought I'd be happy to stay in Kansas, but this is "home" now.  Still the middle of the US except for wind, pretty much same weather as MO.  We moved to KS in 1960, a lifetime ago.  Hope you can find your water!

FlaJean

JeanneP, Florida is different in climate and population depending on the area.  We live in a housing area and have small front and back yards which suits us quite well at this age.   :). Many people don't realize that Florida has three climate areas---south, central (we were in the north central climate in Ocala), and north.  I think it was in 2010 that Florida surpassed New York to become the third most populated state.  But most of that population is in the south.

I am getting well day after day.  But it is a shame I'm unable to walk out of hospital, need to do much more training to walk around by myself.
