Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Jean enjoyed the tour.  See that is just the parks name and no lions, but great shot of the moving barge and pretty sky.  Was just going to turn the machine off when your post came in.

Shirley

I had to try a couple times to see your video/ slide show, Sato, but worth the effort.  Beautiful roses.  My Peace Rose bush did not do well this year, the blooms would open one day and start falling apart the next, so it was a real pleasure to see yours.

Jean, all I know about barges is from my parents photos and them talking about the ones along the Missouri and Osage Rivers when they were growing up in the early 1900s.  The little village was near the confluence of the Missouri & Osage Rivers, lots of history of early America moving west, river traffic from Kansas City to St.Louis and on to New Orleans. The barges were not nearly as large as in your video, Jean, thanks for helping me remember.

Joy

Jean, I think your video was good.  Don't know why your comment about " not very good".   The one of the pier with the fisherman was really pretty.  Looks like the moon was coming up in the background.  Or, it might have been a light, but it looks like the moon to me.   Nice colors on the pontoon boat and the others.

Thank you for your kind words.  We are suppose to have a cool front coming in.  October has always been my favorite month, but the last couple of years it has been unseasonably warm.  Joy, when you live in Florida you look forward to the winter.

Lindancer

FlaJean I enjoy any photos from Niceville, I had spent so many
happy days there,  One year we spent CHRISTMAS with Mark and Linda got back in the car, spent a day at Foxwood stopped by our house in NY and then drove to Niceville to spend New Years with Dennis and Jo/  that was before anything was built on the beach.  Then they put in the bridge.

FlaJean

Linedancer, we really like this area of Florida.  I imagine it has changed a lot since you were here, but it is still a small town with friendly people.

Shirley

Our migrating osprey is back, always perches on this pole which is 3 houses east of me.  The photo is full zoom, I tried getting closer other years but it has excellent eyes & flies off.  I do have a photo of it with a fish in it's mouth, guess it can see them from the perch. Right now the river is muddy so hopefully it can't see all the catfish I've been feeding.

Beautiful bird.  I never saw one, only on pictures.

FlaJean

In Ocala we had many osprey.  They made nests on top of telephone poles outside of town.

SCFSue

Jean, thanks for your pictures.  It made me feel as if I were down at Gulf Shores and had gone over to the bay to watch the boats.

We went by the park in ValP (as the locals call it) and took a few photos.  The weather is really nice.  The sky was beautiful this evening and I had to run out and get a picture.  I think there were a few clouds.  Will have to post it in the other forum later.

Jean the name Niceville sure fits.  Lovely mix of video and photos.

FlaJean

Thanks Jack.  earlier I forgot to thank you, Sue, about the photos comment.
There is a Mullet Festival this weekend but we didn’t have enough energy to do all the walking required.  I’m afraid age is catching up with us.  :-[

Vanilla-Jackie

FlaJean...
...did I see a couple of shooting stars at the very end? I replayed it and I am sure I did... :)

FlaJean

Jackie, I hadn’t noticed so went back and looked.  Yes there were.

Marilyne

Jean - looks like such a tranquil, uncrowded place to live.  I enjoyed it very much.

FlaJean

Marilyne, it is a small town although there is a community college with a first class art center.  In fact we are looking forward to a broadway production of “The Sound of Music” on Thursday nightâ€"going with daughter and husband.  For the young(er) people who want more night life they can cross the Mid Bay Bridge and go into Destin.  We don’t often eat out but occasionally head across to Destin to one of their many nice restaurants and eat with a view of the Gulf.

Posted several photos in another discussion.  They were from Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh.   Thought I had a slide show but unable to locate, so did a quick slide show, photos only, no sound.  Check it full screen.

Jack, that is a fantastic place; such pretty flowers and plants.  Interesting walks through the building.  Thanks for the show.

Joy

Jack,  that really is a gorgeous place.   Thanks for showing it.

Mary Ann and Joy thanks.   You had me checking my photos that were taken over several years.  Do not know if I will return to The Phipps, but the photos will do.   It is just about an hour and a half drive, but I seldom leave Mimi alone for more than 5 or 6 hours.  That is not a complaint, we have rescued each other.

FlaJean

Jack, since that had no movie, you could have used Photopeach and had lots of music choice.  The photos were beautiful.

jackwv

Jean I thought of Photopeach, like the program, but seem to recall some had problems viewing it.  I will sometimes add music for Vimeo but they do not accept some.

Mary Ann

While the music is nice, it doesn't matter to me if the music is there or not.

Mary Ann

jackwv

Jean and Mary Ann   it only took a few minutes to add the photos to PhotoPeach.  They do a good job, hope you can view.

FlaJean

Jack, the photos were beautiful and the music choice perfect.  Really enjoyed it.  Will watch it more than once.

I think it is only on  the iPad that you can't watch Photopeach because of no flash drive allowed.  I watched it on the Mac laptop.  I guess I am one of the few that enjoy the music ALMOST as much as the photos.

jackwv

I tried to play on the computer and a message came up I needed a flash player.  Problems with Adobe Flash player, if you do not have best you forget or make sure you are getting it direct from adobe.

FlaJean

Jack, I have my laptop set to Adobe automatically updating the Flash Player.  The iPad just doesn't allow use of the Flash Player, but anyone with a PC with Windows shouldn't have a problem as long as Adobe is doing the updates.

Mary Ann

Jack, I had a message about Flash Player so I activated it.  It seems in the distant past I had trouble with Flash Player and I don't remember the problem now, but I did activate it and all was well.  I liked the music but if it had not been there, I still would have enjoyed it.

Mary Ann

SCFSue

Jack, the pictures of the gardens at Phipps are gorgeous.  Thanks for this treat today!
