Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

Thanks for your comments.  I actually remembered to take my camera!  I grew up close to the water so I like it here a lot.  I might change my mind if or when we have a hurricane.

Jack, such an interesting video---both sections, but I do love glass.  When we moved I gave my books to the Friends of the Library except my books about the glass companies (most of which are now gone).  I have some lovely glass from a bygone era.  Really enjoyed the video.  I liked the appropriate music.

Yesterday we used one of Larry's Father's Day Gift cards.  Took a trip to nearby Ft. Walton Beach and enjoyed some seafood at the Red Lobster.  It has a beautiful site on the waterfront and we were seated by a window.  We enjoyed watching the geese, ducks and an occasional boat out on the water.  It was a hot day but actually very pleasant by the water when I walked out to take some photos.  Took a few pictures on the way home which I included.

Jean thanks, we changed pages so do not want anyone to miss your last one  (in the quote)

Jack. Fantastic Video. I loved the part showing the Burial Grounds. I had not heard of that one. I try to visit them when ever I am near a place. If I drive to G.D in Connecticut I will go out of my way to visit that one. Anything to do with the American Indians I have to go.
We have one here in Illinois. http://www.museum.state.il.us/ismsites/dickson/history.htm For some reason it is still closed down. As usual I suppose Tourist doing something wrong. They were going to close the places where Pres. Lincoln started out but see it opened up again. New Salem State park. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln%27s_New_Salem. I always like it. Been awhile since I have been there.  Now really to touristy.

Good morning!

Jean, your video is wonderful! Thanks to your many geese, I remembered the Ashida River. Your new house is wonderful. Please give my best regards to Larry.

Sachiko3

Jack, thank you for your precious video. Music fits each video. I enjoyed your video very much!

Jean and Jack.......enjoyed both of your videos.

Jean, how I envy you being so close to the water.   Your house and the area are really nice.  I  hope you will have many happy years in your new area.    I have not been to a Red Lobster for a very long time.  There really isn't one that near to me.

We are going to my son's on Sunday instead of Monday, the 4th, for steamed crabs.  We will pick them up at a place near me and my son has a nice deck where we will eat them.  Our first for this season.

Jack, interesting museum.  I am like Jean,  I love the glassware and the china.  I, too, have some really old pieces that belonged to my mother and an aunt.  Unfortunately, since I don't have much company anymore,  they are very seldom used.  But, they look nice in my china closet.

Thanks for sharing your trips with us.

Jack, the pictures of Moundsville reminded me that we have some Indian mounds south of town, I think from the Hopewell tribe.  It is a protected area but not a dedicated park such as what you showed.  I liked the glass displays and if I were there, I would have found something small to buy for a souvenir.

It has been much more comfortable today than the past few days.  Tomorrow is to be more of the same before we get hot weather again.

Thanks to each of you for your comments.

JeanneP   believe this is the largest mound.  If traveling east on I 70 it is just about 20 minutes south.  You are able to walk to the top of the mound.  The Museum is free and changes its exhibits.

The china is Homer Laughlin China and they are located in Newell WV and not far north of Steubenville Ohio.

It became late, but I post a video after I leave the hospital.
On April 27, I was discharged from the hospital and returned to my home. The flowers of the season including the azalea bloomed in my garden in sequence.

jackwv

Sachiko I know it would have been wonderful to be back home, and the flowers helped.  You look great and happy to be there.

Joy

Sachiko,   I know it had to make you feel a lot better just to be home and being able to enjoy the beginnings of your beautiful flower gardens.  You look like you are feeling well.

Sachiko, I can fully agree with Mary Ann.....your face shows such contentment...you look totally relaxed at home, surrounded by your beautiful floral garden....
Every flower I see looks so healthy, you are truly gifted with the magical touch.......

FlaJean

Sachiko, enjoyed your lovely garden.  So much color and variety.

Sachiko, I agree with everyone, such lovely flowers and it was good to see you looking better!

Good morning!

Jack, Joy, Mary Ann, Vanilla-Jackie, Jean, angelface, thank you very much for your kind comments.
I asked my husband to take the photos in front of the flowers in commemoration of recovery. And I would like to have everybody see the photos and put those photos in the video.
My mother-in-law planted these flowers, and raised them for many years, and I thank her. She would not imagine it to have you see these floral art.

The month June is going to end.  I’m still in hospital.  My wife is fighting at home alone, but sometimes she has visited her favorite flower parks to take photos and sent me some of them.  I made a video with them on bed in hospital as follows.

Sato, beautiful video of the flower pictures your wife took.   Thanks for sharing her talents.

I am so sorry to read where you are still in the hospital.  I hope you will soon be well enough to go home.  I am sure your wife is missing you being with her.   My best wishes for a speedy recovery.  Take care of yourself.

Sato, your video is wonderful! And Takako' photos are excellent. You should be able to leave the hospital early, too.

jackwv

Sato your wife takes great photos, and glad to see you are able to spend a bit of your time on the slide show.  Hope we soon see your work from home.

Mary Ann

Sato, your wife takes beautiful pictures, as do you.  You make a good team.  Please thank her for us.

I'm sorry you are still in the hospital.  Japanese hospitals keep people longer than the US hospitals.  Of course, it is the insurance companies who dictate how long people stay in the US.

FlaJean

Sato, enjoyed your video. Your wife's photos are lovely and artistic and you certainly presented them well.  Also enjoyed the music.  Think of you often and hope you are soon well enough to go home.

Jack wv, as requested ( photos, ) but it was tough watching this clip again as my blue roan cocker spaniel is no longer here, nor is Petra the white dog with brown ( not in this clip, this clip came after her parting ) and of course soon to be our Benji, brown collie x springer...our youngest pup Toby ( golden cocker spaniel ) is now 5 & a half, he will soon be the only one left.....This is an old clip so apologies if I have posted this before, which probably I have....Link.....The Rat Pack...

My head is full of the wonderful videos tonight!  I did not take notes so hope I can remember each.  I did leave comments at the ones I could.

Jack, we had mounds sort of like that in Missouri, they were Indian burial mounds & don't think most were that tall.  My mother mentioned some on their walk to school that are no longer there.  They disappeared before the government started protecting them.  Great video, I thoroughly enjoyed it.  You live in such an interesting part of American history.

Jean, great shots of the area, love your surroundings & beautiful house.  Is it "home" already?  We spent such a short time there, not sure where the campground was to where you live & not sure if it was a state park or what.

Sachiko, the grounds around the hospital are certainly gorgeous.... so glad you are back home and hope you have a complete recovery.  It has taken me 3 years to feel "back to normal" after 3 by-passes and a new aortic pig valve.  I went for an echo cardiogram yesterday.... routine 8 month check up.  I won't hear the results for a few days but if there was a problem, I would have heard by now.  It is amazing what "they" can do now.

Sato, I did leave a message for you on the site, you & your wife make a great team.  She has an unusual eye for flowers and you are a master at putting the photos together.

It is after 1:00 am so I had better get some sleep.  It is a hot night but storms are moving toward us so I have been checking radar.  Sweet dreams to all.  Shirley

Hope I didn't miss anyone or any videos.....  ah, Jackie.... so nice to see your pups again!  Sad we lose our babies but also some of the friends that left comments before are now gone.  Happy memories, right?

Vanilla-Jackie

Shirley, on that note, re, friends that have now gone...such a shame our old site went down and we started up from fresh as so many of our now departed members avatar photos have now dissapeared along with their memorial photos and tributes....Its only when we see a departed members name, as in my old photo clip...brings back happy memories of when they were here on our forum and posting....Yes life has its sad losses, only contained in our saved photographs and their then, comments....

Sachiko3

Vanilla-Jackie, thank you very much for fun and interesting video.
