Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

JeanneP   I posted this link earlier.  10 minutes but tells you all about Oglebay.

Well, I was going on & on to leave a post when the next video came up (not yours) and wouldn't let me get back without coming back in here for the link again.  The fountains are beautiful but the flowers reflecting & lights showing so many colors are just amazing.  Great job with the night scenes.... besides, I could have danced all night to that music!  Which camera did you use?  Beautiful.... will have another look & listen!   :nanadance2: :nanadance: :nanadance2:

jackwv

Shirley thanks, I would have used a Panasonic on all but not sure which one. Since last year all the 200.   Glenn Miller is a favorite, but daughter asked why I did not use "Three coins in the fountain"  Would have worked but will not change now.

FlaJean

Jack, there is something very peaceful about fountains.  Enjoyed the video and love the music.

jackwv

Jean I also like to watch and listen to  fountains.  I had a short video clip and the music drowned it out.   Several times I have taken video holding the camera and am disappointed when I can hear my breathing.   Good to know I am breathing but should use a tripod.

angelface555

Jack, that was an amazing and absolutly lovely video from the first view on! You really have a good eye!

jackwv

Patricia thank you.   I gave up on photoshop and Paint Shop.   I marvel at what many of you can do.   For my part I just like taking a group of photos and adding motion and music.   Several others do a great job with both Windows Live and iMovie.   I now just use the computer and Windows Live.   Here is a little example.  Go full screen and give the photo about 7 seconds.

Jack.  Great video. I am so tempted to just drive and see the place next time drive up to GD In Connecticut. Think just adds about 100 miles on the Route I take. Just stay there overnight.
What a place I would use for my daily walking if lived close to it. One would never get bored of the same route around. Every Season it changes.

Jack, a good video about movie making. I am able to do that now simply, using my phone. But the information was interesting.

jackwv

Patricia I have a bit of a problem working on the iPhone due to its size, but have played a bit on the pad.  I know it is possible to mix in video with photos  on the iMac, not sure with the phone.  I have been sticking with Windows Movie Maker since I have used for several years and can find my way around.

We haven't heard anything from Sato for a while.  I know Sachiko and Sato no longer live in the same city but wonder if she has heard any news about him.  The last I heard from him was that someone had brought him his laptop.  I hope all is well.  Sure do miss his beautiful photography of flowers.

jackwv

Jean would also like to get some word.   Sato did such a good job with the flowers and liked his slideshows.  You and Sachiko also add so much to this discussion and know you like iMovie.

If Sato is looking in, possibly he can repeat one of his prior shows.    Hope his health is improving, and Sachiko's.

JeanneP

It does seem that when a person goes into a hospital in Japan they keep you in for a long time. Believe Sato is still in. His wife was doing his video postings for him. Don't think he can get on WiFi in the hospital.
Good to see that Sachiko is doing well. Happy to see her back.
JeanneP

FlaJean

Sato asked me to tell his friends in the forum that he is still in the hospital and has had another stroke.  We sure do miss him and his beautiful videos.

Sachiko3

Jean, thank you very much about the news of Sato.

I interchanged with Sato using Line in my smartphone. But he did not write in it after July 2. I called his wife about the condition of Sato. But there was not his note in my Line. However on August 7, there was his note "to be still my hospital.".

JeanneP

Here is what I still miss in my Home town UK. It falls on JUly 16 or the closest Saturday. Mostly just done now in my part of the North of UK. Lancashire also still in Yorkshire. Called the Rushbearing Festival. Things take longer to Change up in the North Cumbria area. Hate to see them go. We had such fun. Glad someone put the 2013 one on line. Just skip the rest. Go to the Video http://brennaaubrey.net/2013/03/19/rushbearing-festival/

Now here are the ladies from My Town doing the dance. this was this year. Sure do better then we did back when. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gi2E7Ez3BDg
JeanneP

jackwv

JeanneP   understand why you would miss that wonderful old town.  The dance was great, and the 2011 production really showed off part of the town and that historic festival.  Loved the old buildings as well as the festival.

FlaJean

JeanneP,  what a nice video from your hometown.  I like the costumes.  I couldn't get the first link.  I guess seeing these videos makes you a little homesick?

JeanneP

We where taught most of the dances at school .i can still do the Sword dance. My favourite.

Shirley

Jeanne, years ago a "friend of a friend"... we all got together quite a bit when our kids were in Junior High... she taught a group of kids clogging.  Think they were pretty good, they traveled around the state in competitions.  We didn't have anything like that where I grew up but remember dancers that came to Marlow when we lived in England.  "Home" is where the heart always is, where so many memories were made.  Isn't it great we have computers & smart phones now to keep in contact or watch videos?

FlaJean

A few photos we took a couple of days ago at one of our area parks.  Today is one of those off and on rainy days so thought I would make a short video to keep me busy.

https://vimeo.com/178656995

Shirley

What a nice day in the park, Jean..... beautiful blue water & so many people taking advantage of the day.  I could almost smell the food cooking over on that BBQ.... neat shot of the smoke billowing up.  Thanks!

It has been too hot & humid to get out here.... just a walk down the hill & I come back wringing wet.  Besides, the mosquitoes are wicked so instead of using so much bug spray with deet, I've been mashing a B-1 vitamin & mixing it with some Jergens cream to spread over my arms & legs before going down to the river... even a little pat on my hair & ears.... & so far the mosquitoes are leaving me alone.  Don't spend much time out.... just feed the fish so they know I'm still around & water some flowers & back inside.  Got to go lock gates, mowers just left & I need to run errands.  Hate getting out this time of day, traffic is horrible.

jackwv

Jean, loved it  shame I would not be able to have a cold beer, but would give it up for that blue water.  Nice visit, thanks.

Heat and humidity have me staying indoors.  Jessie goes out, turns around and has to be encouraged to go into the yard for a few minutes.   Drops to low 80's in the evening and still will drive to Oglebay for a short walk.  The drive and walk gets us out of the house for about an hour.

FlaJean

Thanks Shirley and Jack.  It has been hot here this summer but is always cooler by the water.  I'm looking forward to autumn.

JeanneP

Jean. Another beautiful park. We have a Lincoln Park also but nothing like that. Fact it is in a bad side of town. They spent millions fixing everything up but crime has taken it over.
Just happy we still have a few nice ones left..

Sachiko.  As it was raining hard today I watch a travel show covering Japan and all the Gardens. Some beautiful ones.  A couple of them family owned still. They were the best.  The area seemed to be more in the North of country.
My Favourite was one called. Hokkiado Gardens. Owned by a young lady who had done all the work. Had been acres of Rice Paddies.  Another was owned by a 89 year old Lady who had been doing it since her husband died 40 years ago . made in his honor.  She still works it and is there talking to visitors every day. Thousands of Tourist visit them all.  Seem like the area was OKIDO. I may have the spelling wrong here.  I didn't realize that Japan is not a very large Island.  Easy to travel.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0heK1nRIaks

Jack.  You may enjoy this.  Jackie was talking about the BBC show "The great Canals Journeys" being shown in UK.  I found that could watch all the shows here. . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zRI7xwN_mU.
I love Canals as lived by them in UK.  So will be watching hours.  You may know the 2 Actors who are doing the trips.

Jeanne, I don't know about Jack, but I sure will be enjoying those Canal trip videos.  I love travel shows like those.  And, I noticed that there are several others listed down the right side of the page.

I have them saved in my Favorites folder and I will sure enjoy watching them.  Lots of times when I can't sleep,, I get on the computer.  Those videos will be a nice way to while away the sleepless nights.

Thanks so much for sharing.
