Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

But, but, Aviv is so cute in his curls!

JeanneP

Jack.  Looks like Mimi fur is getting so much lighter. So much more white.

Bubble. Now Scotty. One of twins. He keeps wanting to go get his hair cut almost weekly now and he doesn't like his curls.  Poor sister. Her hair so straight. but she gets it styled so looks nice.  You have curly hair don't you. I do if keep really short but letting it grown chin length now. Like it straight.

Both of my sisters have hair like my mothers, very curly while I have wavy like my father's. My older sister's kids have it both ways with the boy very curly and the girl wavy. The boy, 34, had a full head of white curls like an afro. He is a geological engineer and shaves his head. He says for convenience, but I think his vanity is involved.

The weather says sleeting snow for the next two weeks but little accumulation. It's miserable out there. I just came in from shopping and of course forgot Kleenex and wipes so will unfortunately need another trip!

Mary Ann

Norm and I were both blessed with wavy hair, good body.  Nephew Tom has hair curlier than either Norm's or mine, but he wears it short.  When he was in first or second grade, the paper had a feature on his school which had moveable walls and over by a wall was the boy with a "natural Afro" and it was Tom.  Even at a distance, it was obvious it was Tom.  Neither of his brothers has/had wavy hair; Tim and Terry had/have high foreheads.  I use had/has because Tim is no longer with us.

Jody and Becky are both six ' , tanned and have red/gray afros. Of course Becky is over 300 pounds so she is imposing. Both have high cheekbones and brown eyes.

I am 5'6", blue eyed, pale skin and wavy red hair.

I cut the back of my hair off today, was going to let it grow to pull back when out camping.  I used to let it grow for special occasions but it wasn't me, no time to mess with hair.  It will take a couple more weeks to get it back to summer comfort.

Bubble, my oldest son had hair just like Aviv's .... so pretty & the photos of Aviv look so much like Andy at that age.  I cut his hair so know what a job that is.  I do enjoy all of the photos you share of Aviv growing up (even if it is your Canadian visitor this time.)  Thank you, Don.

Jack, is it lighting or is Mimi a little blonder than your other Goldens?  I find myself smiling from ear to ear every time you post a photo of her.

I called my neighbor while ago to see if the daffodils had opened yet, they did!  Here's a couple shots & you can see how many are each cluster.  Their yard is so full of buds it will be an amazing sight soon.  Hopefully the freeze predicted for this week end won't harm them.

Lovely, Shirley.  Be sure and take another photo when they are all blooming.

This morning I was schooled in the art of making bourekas which will form part of our Shabbat meal later on. Shaping and folding them was more of a challenge than I expected and of the ones illustrated I did about six of them; Bubble did the rest. We made about 36.
First, the filling.

The finished product is as delicious as it looks

jackwv

Shirley, thats about how my daffodils have developed.  Mimi is lighter than Jessie, and just as good looking as Jessie when she was younger.

Don  the bourekas look great.  I dine out or limit my cooking to anything I can open with the can opener or frozen food box.

Vanilla-Jackie

DON....
...I can see three or four of your six, the ones with the fillings showing through.... ;D...just jesting....now what is the filling? your ones look as though meat is the filling...

SHIRLEY....
....it is a delight seeing the first buds of Daffodils opening up, Spring must have come early for your neighbour...

halkel

Don, Love those things.  In Turkey I only ate the cigar and one with many layers of crust, made with cheese filling.  Loved them with the Turkish style stew.  Put some in the hidey hole.

Shirley

Thank you all for the comments about my neighbor's daffodils....

Jackie, I really think they are cheering for her, she is the one that licked cancer this year.  Nobody else has blooms yet.

Don, I had to Google to see what "bourekas" are & got to see lots of versions & vote the ones you & Bubble made the best looking.  They look delicious.  You both are very ambitions and busy, I am thoroughly enjoying your trip.

Hayfever is awful already so must get away from the computer.... anything using my eyes makes them itch all the more.  It is COLD here this morning, cats came to the kitchen to eat & then to the door for their morning run.  Was funny to watch them stop in their tracks & lay down to warm their toes & turned around to come right back in.  We've had 70s all week & with the wind, chill index is 20, so a big change.

Vanilla-Jackie

SHIRLEY...
....I have been reading some books on " messages from God..." on how, where, and when to spot them....and I am sure this is one sent to your neighbour after her cancer scare, telling her her life goes on and is blooming again...

Radioman34

Jackie you were correct in identifying the bourekas I had crafted. Actually there was one so badly misshapen we decided to withdraw it from the display. I guess I still have much to learn :(

Vanilla-Jackie

DON....
....I will give you ten out of ten for trying, maybe best to leave them to the expert....mind you, whatever shape they are, they all go down the same way... ;D

Think we have lost our summer weather today. Sort of dreary and So windy.
I have been running around every day this week. Just kept Kitchen and Bathroom tidy.
today I am just going to head out to the Movies and See "Lion" Everyone says its good.  Starts at 2pm.  Will stop at the crocery store next door to it and then Home. That will be it for my day
Just showered and did my hair. I will go out in the wind and that will take care of the hair.
I am looking out the window and all the trees seem to be budding out already. Which mean the wind will bring down the buds and cover the porch. Hate that.

Don. Bourekas look so good. Now did you make your own pastry or buy at the store.  Takes patience to make.  I only lmake Pasties. Easier

Sandy Ophelia is a gift from God, but that is a beautiful dress.

Bless her, she looks comfortable with the camera...

Thank you everyone....

Kids these days  have so much exposure
to the camera via the smart phones
surrounding them.

It is a sign of the times,   be it good,  bad or indifferent,
this is their birthright....

This,  IMHO, is just one more change that makes people what they are today...    So different from what we were exposed to growing up...

I am very curious about what the future will bring...
and hope that I live long enough to observe and enjoy some of it.

Thanks Bubble and Don for the wonderful photos! It is so nice to see Bubble "in her natural habitat," after years of PSP and emails!

Shirley, flowers in Spring are always lovely!

Sandy, Fe is a doll in that dress!

I agree, the future as we are living it is so different from what we expected or might have wished, and it is in a period of rapid flux, so many inventions we have never heard of or expected to see! I sincerely believe that we are in another industrial,(Scientific?); revolution.

They have even "discovered" a small solar system with planets that look as if they contain water!

Mary Ann

Sandy, Ophelia is so cute.  I like her dress too.  You are right when you say kids are so used to cameras these days.  It no longer is a special occasion to get out the camera and shoot.  So many people wear their phones so the cameras are right there.

Mary Ann

angelface555

MaryAnn, there are even wristwatch cameras now and special additional lenses for those camera phones!

Posted this in the slide show by mistake,   having one of those days.  It hit 78 degrees today, short sleeve weather.  Met my son and granddaughter  for a nice walk with their two Leonbergers.  The Pup is 75 pounds and the older one 175.   The big boy kept getting into Mimi's face and she would tell him off.   She would not sit still with them for a photo so my son took one of us and I took the other.  That is their miniature dachshund, the boss!

Beverly

Great pictures Jack! Funny how the mini dachshund is the boss. :-) What an unlikely combination!. Mimi is looking regal as usual.

Don and Bubble. Your pastries look good. I wouldn't mind eating the imperfect ones!  Awww! Aviv was so cute with his curls. How does he like the new look?

Shirley - Pretty daffodils. With all the flowers we have in Florida, we can't grow daffodils, tulips, etc.  We can buy potted plants of them in the stores now.

Sandy - Ophelia is so cute in her pretty dress. My youngest great-grandson is walking now but I have to settle for videos of him for now. I'm hoping for a visit from them later in the spring.

JACK WV...
...I always find it so very strange when humans are afraid of large dogs, when I find its the smaller dogs more to be aware of.... ;D
...I see Dachshund is not letting size put him off...whereas Mimi is sticking to you like glue... ;)

I grew up with an Alsatian ( German Shepherd, ) this was my fathers dog, Sheba...so large dogs dont frighten me...but some of the small yappy - snappy type dogs can...

Sandy

What beautiful animals Jack!  The are very content and happy looking!

I love that the Dachshund is "the boss"  ...
As it should be, imho!!

I am very fortunate to be close to my kids and grand  kids...
That is why I choose to live here in Portland Maine as family is very important to me as I get older.

Beverly, Jackie and Sandy thanks.  With a small family I have to be content with pups. (not bad)    Have only one grandchild, the young lady posted in the photo with her dad.   She will soon be 24 and  an engineer with an automotive firm in Mich.  Standing joke is that she is my favorite grandchild.
