Oldiesmann: Finally got the AmazonBot situation under control. I basically changed some server settings to tell AmazonBot that it's not allowed to access anything on the site. That should fix the speed issues we've been experiencing lately

All of the elements for the Seder are presented on the Seder plate: parsley, celery along with salted water which represents the tears of the enslaved Jews.
A shank bone of a lamb:  a reminder of the 10th plague when every firstborn died. Those spared were the ones whose door frames had been marked with the blood of a newly slaughtered lamb.

This depicts the 40-year trek across the desert as the fleeing Jews carried food and that which could sustain them.

Another part of the enactment is ridding ourselves of the plagues. Bubble is proclaiming the name of each one and Illy is pouring wine followed by water into a large bowl. When all ten plagues have been proclaimed the bowl is carried from the room while everyone remains silent and the contents are flushed away. The celebrations then resume.

The devotion to tradition and religion is to be commended and honored.  Thanks for letting us be a part of it.

Don, reference the help for the victims that Bubble and Bennie provided.  Their efforts to aid and comfort the victims does not surprise me.  That is just their nature.  God bless them and all the others who rendered aid.

Joy

Don,  wonderful pictures and wonderful stories.   Especially the kindnesses of Bubble and her husband.

It is so nice  that you have shared this special celebration with all of us.   Always interesting to hear about all the different nationalities and how they celebrate these various customs.

Thanks so much for sharing.

Again, thank you for these photos. I have known Bubble for years, almost as long as I've been on the Internet. But these photos deepen my understanding and my friendship to an extraordinary woman and her family.

jackwv

Don, Bubble and family, so good to see you reliving the traditions.

so_P_bubble

Thank you, thank you my friends

Don...Passover. One of the Great Traditions. I am glad Don you got to share it.  I still miss so many of the traditions we had in UK growing up. Needed family there to have them.  You have learned so much over the years from knowing Bubble. Most probably  things you never knew. So many of the old Traditions seem to not be carried out  anymore . So many young do not follow the religious ones now.
You all Enjoy the rest of the Passover.   We all have loved getting all the photoes that You and Bubble have been sending to us.   It is like we hve been on this Holiday with you.

And I am another that has enjoyed every photo and detail of the Seder (including March 27,2002).  It gives me such a warm heart to know Bubble's family and friends carry on and will pass down what she learned as a child.
Hugs to you and all those close, Bubble..... and thank you for allowing us into your circle.  Thanks, Don, for sharing this special time with us.  Love the intent look on Aviv's face, he understands.

Don, thank you so much for sharing the Seder of 2002. That is an example of what faith should be . to give and not to count the cost. And then for years later the heart felt thanksgiving for what was done for the victims. Perfect at this special time of year, be we Jewish or Christian.
The pictures of the ceremony are a gift, thank you so much. I feel so "one'd" with you, my beloved friends.
As long as we are here, let's dance.

Beautiful Easter Saturday was up to the park twice.  Here is at sunset.

Mary Ann

Jack, Mimi looks so happy, especially to be out and with you.

Shirley

Aw, Jack....  don't know what it is about her that melts my heart.  I am sure all of your other Golden Girls had a hand in picking her for you and smile down to see what a perfect match you two are.  Beautiful soft background colors in the photo.  A Happy Easter to you!

Hi, Mary Ann, you slipped in before I could post. "Hi" to Dot for me.   :hello:

Happy Easter to all, we are watching storms dance around Kansas, so far missing OUR area, but coming this way.  Golf ball size hail doing a lot of damage.  'Tis the season~

What a lovely young lady, Jack.  Today was beautiful and expecting another lovely day tomorrow.

JACK WV...

...what a wonderful life of freedom your Mimi is now enjoying...no wonder she is sitting proud and with a smile on her face... :)

...Jack I am happy your weather has turned for the better, allowing you to both get out and about...

jackwv

Mary Ann, Shirley, Jean and Jackie  thanks.   To be another nice day today but first the most important! Early church service.

JeanneP

Jack.  You were lucky. got good weather for the Easter day.  It started to storm late Saturday night after 4 day of summer like.  It is still dark and raining.  Sad that I am sure it has ruined lots of what was planned by many.  Lots of places had big egg searching all over town for the children.  Little to wet for some.

Mimi seems to know how to pose when you use the same bench.
JeanneP

JeanneP   I just ask her to sit and she gets that smile, very easy to get a good shot.     We had passing rain but a nice day and yes, back to the park.

MaryTX

Jack, I love all the pictures of Mimi.  My golden Missy hates to have her picture taken and if she sees a camera, she immediately turns away :(.

Mary I have photos of my Goldens without the smile, but I usually wait till the tongue goes out and they show their smile.  They were more prone, indoors to move away from the camera.  Would like to see one of Missy.

JeanneP

Jack.  I bet you could always tell the ladies to just sit,. and they would give  you a big smile.  You really are getting your exercise in now.  Having a dog is the way to do it and your having such a beautiful area to walk.  That really helps.  I will do more one the weather gets nicer. My 2 parks and Japan house are only about 10 min. away
JeanneP

jackwv

JeanneP  I would love to see the Japanese House.  Miss Sato and Sachiko and their tours.

Hate to admit it but I am slowing down. My legs get numb and I want to avoid falling.   I move along the level walking paths, from bench to bench.  As soon as I head for one Mimi comes back and leans against my leg, staying close.  I still avoid walks around the block, no place to sit and prefer to take the short drive to the park.

Mary Ann

Jack, welcome to the club with leg trouble.  It is no fun.  Norm had peripheral neuropathy in his legs up to his knees and at the last had to have a scooter to ride on, but he was older than you.  Tom and I both think we have a start on neuropathy.  Tom's is more like Norm's where he feels like he is walking on broken glass.  My shin bones have been sensitive for many years and it is my knees that feel like I'm kneeling on broken glass.  One of the benefits, as I call it, of growing older.

I hope you can overcome your numbness.

JACK WV...
...agree, when it comes to walking dog -dogs, stick to what you know, as you are already doing...places that you feel comfortable walking in-through, such as familiar paths...even if it does mean a short drive in getting there, and if their are benches and loos, all the better...well I wont, and cant go anywhere if there is not a loo... :-[

I too wish both Sato and Sachiko would come back to post, as and when...

jackwv

Mary Ann and Jackie, I am fortunate, have no pain. My legs go to sleep, have done it for around 10 years.  I simply head for a place to sit, lean forward and after a few minutes ready to go.  My doctor did not prescribe a cane, but said it could help.  I have had one for probably 6 months and seldom use it, preferring to keep both hands available for the leash.  I avoid steps without a railing, and try not to sit on the ground unless there is something to hold to help getting up.

Lindancer

Jack great picture of your beautiful  Mimi. My son golden was Rosey, and my granddaughter in Tenn. She name hers Charlie, which I never understood as she, is a she.

I always say, I am in great shape if I did not have to walk and breath.

Mary Ann

Jack, my leg pain is at night, or early morning, and when I get out of bed, the pain goes away.  Now, if I try to get down on my knees, that is when the "broken glass" feeling sets in.  It used to be if I were on the floor or ground, I could get on my knees and if there was something near I could lift myself up, but I cannot get on my knees any more.  Old age isn't for sissies and I have a few years on  you.

I hope your day is as nice as ours - temp between 65 and 70 with the sun shining.

Only a week left and now each day becomes more meaningful than the one that preceded it. We went downtown this morning and soaked up that downtown ambience in the city square.
We stopped here for our coffee and croissants . The area in the background is where the baked goods are made.
