Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

2024-05-02, 00:07:54
Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

2024-05-01, 23:57:58
Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

JeanneP: I am trying to get into the Archives of the Recipes that where moved over from Senior net few years ago, Can't find them

Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Oldiesmann: The chat can be accessed from the menu but I don't kow how often anyone is in there

Patricia, you are right that Kendrick is a big cat.  When we weighed him one time, he weighed 15 pounds.  If I look at him sideways, he looks fatter than he is, but when I watch him walk, I can see he really is a slender cat.  But he is long; I think from stem to stern he's probably four feet long.  I really was referring to his stripes that looked similar to Kendrick's, but with different colors.

We just spent some time on my deck and he's most comfortable when I am near him.  There is not room for him to sit beside me in the computer room so he comes in to check on me.

Patricia, thanks for the offer, but you can keep me off the list.  Too far to travel, and had enough tents in the army and traveling with Jessie in Agility.   Will limit my visit to watching the bear on the web cam, but a marvelous sight.

angelface555

MaryAnn, sometime I will have to get out my tape measure and measure Farrah. She is best described as short and sturdy! The prevailing norm is to look down at a standing cat from above. If his/her stomach doesn't stick out, all is good. Farrah is gray with bars and spots on top and white underneath other than an orange stomach color patch.

Jack, I'm disappointed. No intermingling with grizzlies?  ;D

Patricia, I'm not sure I look at Kendrick the right way, but when I look at the south end going north, his stomach does not stick out and that's when I realize he is not a fat cat!  When I say "stem to stern", I mean when he is stretched out with paws in front and tail behind; that way I think he is about four feet long.  When I am in Indy and see Tom H's cat, Jinx, she is so tiny, probably 1/3 of Kendrick's size.

Grand Haven is very busy today - lots of boaters, swimmers and sun bathers.

Those bears on the Cam look to be really catching the Salmon. That water looks so cool. Doubt I would be brave enough to go in it.

Apologies the card is a day or two late..

angelface555

Jackie, what a beautiful card for Sachiko! She will love it!

Jeanne, the water stays about thirty-two degrees but people swim in it. Just not in the same area as the bears..... :-\

JeanneP

Not seen Sachiko posting for a few weeks. Maybe I missed it.  Did not see about her birthday. Hope she had a nice one. Her health was improving . Will be nice when she returns.

Never knew the purpose of Attachments at the foot of a post.   I am now using it to post a photo from last evening.  We walked along the red (not yellow)brick road.   Don't ask me the names of the flowers, I just enjoy looking.

Beautiful baskets! So neat how that 'edge' is trimmed, with a bench in between. The contrasting colors in the floral borders make them so interesting.  I also like how the soft colors  of the building blended well with the vegetation.  All very tasteful :)
Thanks for that glimpse in your world,  Jack.

...I too have always wondered about " attachments..."
...I was expecting to see Dorothy and Toto in the background....but what a stunning photo of colour...who's house is that, is it part of your Ogle Bay, or part of your neighbourhood? oh, and who does the watering of those hanging baskets?

Vanilla-Jackie, I'm sorry to be late. Thank you very very much for your wonderful card for me!
It couldn't be said that I was still so healthy, but I celebrated my birthday with my husband.
My husband took this picture.

Beautiful flowers and photo of Oglesby, Jack!

Sachiko, Photobucket is raising their prices again and charging for more items. Do you have another site you are able to use for posting from such as your website?

angelface555

Yesterday, 26th, was an odd day for dark clouds, wind and blowing dust with the soft smell of rain but it never showed.

The last two photos show we have some beautiful, fiery sunsets here in the city. But the trees and the Federal courthouse restrict my view so I rarely post.

Sachiko...
...so happy you did pop in and have now seen your Birthday card...I understand of your health issues but happy your hubby made your Birthday a special one...

I came away from photobucket, glad I eventually did as I got so fed up with the constant and unwanted pop ups from other dubious websites...I now use...

www.imageshack.us

and although I paid an annual fee, I feel it is much more private and personal, to me, money worth spent...

Angelface...
...your yesterday clouds looked very threatening...your " cotton wool " clouds look very low...

Wrote a long post then lost it when I tried to attach, so posted the photo separate.

I quit Photobucket, the adds and the new cost just too much for the little I used them.

Sachiko, great to see your smiling face and hope your health is improving.

Patricia, love the clouds and you do not have to go far to see them.

In my photos, take at Oglebay, all the buildings are that mellow yellow, no need for yellow brick.   The park maintains the baskets, have seen them out watering them in the morning.  The small building is their employment office, but shops, the garden center, and mansion are along the same path and in our daily walk.

FlaJean

Some lovely photos today.  Jack, the photos at Oglebay show scenes so peaceful and relaxing.  They do such a beautiful job of catching all the seasons.  Angel, enjoyed seeing some local photos of your city.  The clouds and skies just awesome.  Sachiko, I couldn't see the photo in Photobucket so glad you reposted.  Such a nice photo your husband took of you in your very pretty garden.

angelface555

Sachiko, I hope your birthday was lovely. You have such a lovely smile, and your garden must bring you great joy, it is so pretty and peaceful!

Jack, Oglebay always looks so quiet and peaceful, it must be such a lovely place to go to with Mimi. The flowers, deer, architecture are all so inviting!

Thank you, everyone, for your comments. My phone simply could not portray the drama. From an eighty degree, bright, clear blue sky, in three hours, huge piles of blue and purple clouds billowed up from over the foothills and piled together, blotting out the blue seemingly close enough to touch. The wind picked up, dust kicked up, the very air seemed full of moisture....

And then those clouds sailed off over the other side of the valley, past the other ridges, with not one drop from those harsh purple clouds with the sun heat and blue again prevailing.
