Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Don that is special, quite a collection.

Don, amazing photos and you just know that the inhabitant is going to be someone interesting!

Don. Did you ever find out who lived in the place and why showing such a collection of things all around.  I have known collectors who put outside but that is overdone. Wonder what stops them from toppling over. Have to be in concrete.  Curiosity would have gotten the better of me. Would have been finding my way up.

Notice that big tower behind it.  Boys would be doing their BB Gun practice if here. The will shoot at anything.
Does the place have a name.  Maybe will google it.

The "tower" is part of a big building crane for the building being erected behind that villa with the statues. That's a private home and for sure not on Google.
No shooting kids here, no guns except for soldiers in the army.

Don, such interesting photos.

When we were in Morocco many years ago, we used to visit a nice restaurant by the Bouknadel Beach (Sidi Bouknadel).  On the cliff above the beach was a royal villa that belonged to the princess.  I always wondered about the odd figures painted on the fence enclosing the villa--- either no-one knew or  didn't want to say.  Don's photos of something different reminded me of this strange enclosure.  A very old photo copied from a very old slide.

Jean, apparently a great memory.

Jeanne, I just sent a reply.  I don't know a Hannah Manderson.  How about Hannah M. Anderson?  That's what I sent to you from the other forum.

Thanks, Sue.  I saw your message and replied.  Whoever she is, she's now history as far as I'm concerned.   :D

beautiful colors Angel.  I wish we had that here.  The leaves just drop and dry dirty grey :(

Patricia, you have a nice view from your window.  Our trees have not turned yet, and we are back to Summer weather for the next week. A week ago I had the oil burner on in the morning

Can't believe it. First day of Fall and it is 94 deg here in Illinois.  I cancelled a appointment today as no way am I going out in it.  Not going to be below 84 way up to the end of next week. Not like us at all. Makes wonder what Winter is going to be like.

There is a locked gate from which there is a path leading to the main entrance, so I poked my camera through the gate and captured the next two images that lined the path[attachimg=1]

Don...
...fantastic and colourful ceramics...who would have thought to have displayed them openly for all to see and enjoy...
Jack wv...
...very clever how you displayed several photos of Mimi into one photo...

Don it is interesting how the ceramics take the weather and they must take a lot of work keeping them looking so good.

Jackie I used a free app for Microsoft 10 called   Coollage.   Worth a look.

JeanneP

Don. Looks like there would be some history in town as to who did all that work putting out those ceramics. Who lives in the house and how it got started. Bet their library knows.  Maybe you can track info down next trip. I am really curious. Its different but still sort of crazy.
JeanneP

angelface555

JeanneP; would you want someone or someones unknown using the library in your town to find information on you or your house or yard? That is a private residence.

JeanneP

If you go all out to do your place up like that then I don't know why one would want to keep it a secret. Doesn't make sense. Most has to be know as to who owns the property. (Taxes). Don't need to let people in . Just be happy in what people think of it.

JeanneP, like you I am intrigued with the history of that home.  Believe if the occupant was Greta Garbo, then  might say "I want to be alone"   Bet if they wanted Bubble or Don would be able to locate on Google Map, possible even a street view.   Every private residence in my town, including mine, can be viewed, fortunately for the time being, only the outside.  Best thing I can offer is a statue of a Golden Retriever.

Mary Ann

I can go to our township site online and find the assessed value of any house in the township if I know the street address.  I have also gone up and down streets online to view all of the houses.  Not much is a secret any more.

tax rolls are public information.  All ways has been, it was just more trouble to look up.  Abstract companies have the complete history of all the land/houses in the area that sell information about.   Like credit companies they have you/your families complete financial history
criss cross directories have all kinds of private information.  It is all out there for anyone to access if they know where to go.

It is just a fact of life any more.

Wrong Jack.  I tried the GoogleMaps and the whole area is a gray surface.  Even the street is not there!  That is because of the tight Israeli security.  Google is not allowed to show details.

It does show "in limbo" an Israel National trail for people walking from South to North or vice-versa.
