Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Oldiesmann: The chat can be accessed from the menu but I don't kow how often anyone is in there

Bubble,   I think you did a great job on all  your different collages.  Each one is just so unique on their own.  I don't know how to do anything like that , but I imagine it is just a matter of playing around with a lot  of  different styles.  Jack always give good advice  !!

Jack, enjoy your evening out.......... especially the gin and tonics.  I am sure you  will.

Joy

wow - good looking one guy there! and sepia too.

Thanks Joy.

Survived my day out and 4 gin and tonic.  Still worked on a late walk with Mimi, she does not drive but led me around the park.

jackwv

Cold drab day so inside playing at the computer.   Came across another app I have that has a feature I forgot.  (forget everything)  The app is a free one on windows 10   the name SuperPhoto Free.   I took a photo of my favorite subject Mimi and am posting the photo and then the result of just one or two clicks on the app.

It is great how you can play so much with art work now on computers.  Jack has such a good Subject  to pose for him.
Jack did you do that last one after drinking 4 Gin and Tonics? Doubt I could even see the screen after 2 drinks anymore. Maybe you did it the day after. It is a good one. Park is also a great background for all your pictures.

Joy

The bottom picture sure is unique.  I love whatever you did to make it look that way.  Would love to see some more done in that way.

There was a time that I would have loved to have played around with that kind of a program.   But, I just don't have the energy to try and learn anything anymore.  I just came across a whole bunch of clip art stuff and how to use them in cards and posters and pictures.  When I was doing crafts, I made a lot of my signs and labels,  but just not interested in doing anything.  However,  I love all the things that you and the others create.

Keep on doing what you do.  Love seeing everybody's creations.

JeanneP   I survived 4 gin and tonic and now back, a few coffees and ready for some Hockey.

Joy I picked up a photo of my Jessie, that I was blessed with for 15 years.  The photo was when she was only a few years old.  I used the app and with several clicks had the painting effect.

Jack, no matter how you play with your model, it is always a success. In this last I liked the change on the flowers.
Is it possible to select specific areas to apply the effect?

halkel

Bubble, if Jack can give the name of the program he is using, many times you can go to you tube and find instructions on how to use it.

so_P_bubble

Thanks Hal, but easier to get a yes or no from Jack. :)  I am lazy by nature.

jackwv

bubble I used Super Photo  Free.   I then used the Paint choice.  It changes the entire photo.  There may be other choices.

A couple of halloween pics of Fe:

Fe is lovely.  Sure would not scare me.  She likes the camera.

so_P_bubble

Fe, you are a cutie!   :-*

Sandy

Speaking of the camera,  Fi does love the
camera..  Every single day pictures are being taking of her
by Madison and her friends and family  etc...

Cameras are everywhere (as well as smart phones) so
picture taking is really just a way of life.     I don't see so
many pictures hanging on the walls, though...

They just pass them around on Facebook, Twitter and
Instagram...     I do have a smart phone and I do belong
to Facebook and  Instagram so I  don't get left out...
If I didn't have these "fun places" to go,  I would
miss out on all those pictures being taking.

This is a  sign of the times and I am not ready to give it
up, yet,  so I work to stay current.    The time
will come when I can not stay current or not be able to
see as well,   but so far so good...

Sandy, I hope you are keeping a copy of all those photo's.  A couple of years ago (remember Jack)(he offered some good advice). I made a movie for each one of the grandkids from their earliest years to (then) present with music and some comments.  The whole family enjoyed them.  I wouldn't be able to do that again, cause, they post them on all the social networks and never send them by email like they used to.  I saved all of them.  Plus some old photo's we had.

so_P_bubble

a web site? No thanks :)
The only place I post photos is right here,  I would never go to facebook or the like with their fake friends and mean less numerous likes..

Mary Ann

Bubble, I have the same trouble.  I am not on Facebook (or any other social place) and who thinks about sending pictures to a great aunt or 2x great aunt.  Fortunately, Tom sends pictures to me; after all, he is the grandpa.  But the pictures I get of Tom's granddaughters are keepers.  I can't post them here because I do not take the time to learn how to post them and I must send them to others - which I have done, but don't want to make a habit of it.

I use facebook on a limited basic. Like the ability to load video.

Two photos from today.  One is the winter flower baskets that light up at night and the other is one of Mimi with the painting effect.

[attachimg=1][attachimg=2]

FlaJean

Jack, I bet those baskets are pretty at night, but Mimi is pretty day or night.

jackwv

Jean I will get a photo of the lights at night on a future visit.  Had to try the painting effect on Mimi.  She is always a show boat.

SCFSue

Jack, I remember your first Golden--at least I think she was the first--when I met you and another animal lover in West Virginia at a state park, can't remember the name, but I was on the way to St. Albans, so it must have been in 2002, 2003--after my husband, Bob, died in 2002.  She has small dogs, but you had your first Golden--can't remember her name.  You're a great "Dad" for Golden's!  If I'm ever able to drive again, I'd like to return to "those beautiful Hills" in West Virginia!  If I can do it, I'll let you know and perhaps we can meet again.

Sue I remember that trip.  I had Jessie at the time, forget the name of your pet. (Stubby?)  The other woman had a Cavalier King Charles, a real nice breed.  That was a great meeting, but too short.

jackwv

Well almost time for hockey, but took a photo I always liked.  It was of two deer, keeping a close eye on me.    I cropped it and applied the painting effect.    Interesting!

Who's the little " pretty in pink?  "  Fe you are so cute...

Bubble...
... I am right there with you with " facebook..."

Jack wv...
...I much rather the photos of Mimi untouched without any effects, and in her natural state...Mimi doesn't need any touching up...she is perfect as she is... :)

Posting for Mary Ann

These are the last two pictures of the twins I received.  They are nearly nine months old and these were their pictures for Halloween.  Jo is on the left and Ellie on the right.  They are not identical and Jo weighs about a pound more than Ellie and it has been that way since birth.  They both have the sweetest smiles and their parents say both are very good babies.  Their father is James, Tom's son.

Mary Ann

Thank you, Bubble, for posting the pictures.

Mary Ann

jackwv

Thanks for posting Bubble.  MaryAnn they are beautiful and how wonderful to be twins.

Mary Ann

Thanks, Jack.  I told Tom yesterday that I did not see any family resemblance, but now I look at those little fat cheeks, I am reminded of a picture of Tom I took when he was four or five months old and he had those cheeks then.

Mary Ann

FlaJean

They are so cute, Mary Ann.  That was a good idea for Halloween.
