Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Posting for Gloria.

That's about how everything here looked.  I couldn't get a shot that good.  I think the sun/light source was not good for the camera.

Jack - Here's that tree last October 14. Not as red as it is at times.

Thanks Pat for the beautiful photos from Gloria.   Jean I am more impressed with your great grandson than the car.   I have only one grandchild and she just turned 25.
Rick. a pretty tree.  We had a Japanese Blood leaf in our front yard that I loved.  It died, I decided not to plant another, they were so slow growing.   Big mistake, it would now be full grown.

angelface555

Jean, you have a very good looking grandson. He's very self-assured looking for his age. I was trying to figure out if he was taller than most or if the cars were smaller?

Rick, I played around a bit with lighting and noise removal in my PSP Program for your evening photo.

FLJean.  Your grandson has good taste in cars for a 5 year old. Tell him to start saving his money now if he want to a A "Austin Martin" they were always my dream car. See more in UK and US I think. Reds are the best.
Some of those photo of the trees with snow on them. So pretty sights. It is bad that snow falls looks beautiful but so cold. We really have not had a pretty snow fall this year. Just cold and rain

Your mod seems to make it stand out more (to me).  I saved your copy and put both up on my screen to compare.  Fun to mes with them.

Sharpening, white balance and a bit of noise removal.  :)

so_P_bubble

which sharpening did you use? High pass usually makes it a little lighter and looks good, better than unsharp mask.

It was not a good day for pictures. A misty fog permeated the atmosphere which wasn't so bad because most of the shots were indoors anyway. The first shot is of the prophet Elijha taken in the grotto where legend has it he slept and from whence he ascended to heaven in a chariot of fire. This prophet is much venerated by Jews, Christians and Muslims, and in fact at the Seder table at the begining of Passover there is place set for him on the off chance he might drop in.
The grotto is in the Stella Maris Cathedral on Mount Carmel and is located underneath the main altar of the cathedral.I posted a picture to try and illustrate the layout.

This a shot of the ceiling.  Incidentally the congregants attending mass are on the lower level looking up.

What a treat to come see photos!!!  Seems I have been so busy with house maintenance (fences, well, etc) I haven't had time to come on my own but "rode over on Don's link in the Soda Shoppe"..... thank you, Don.  Love seeing the pictures of such interesting history.  Thanks for the details.... hope you don't mind if I copy & send to my kids?  I'll wait for your answer. Fantastic photos!

Beautiful photos of the snow from you, Rick, Gloria de & Patricia.... We haven't had any this year (SO dry), but I do have a photo of my house from across the river some years ago, all frosty like that.

Neat to have a tree you started, Rick.  We have a sweet gum in the front yard that I grew in a pot & transplanted into bigger pots until it found a spot in the yard.... It is the one causing trouble with roots getting into the well & I may have to kill it.  At the time I wondered why my husband was planting so close to the well, he was always careful about not wanting roots near the sprinklers.  I have a small maple volunteer that I had my sons transplant last year, think it is a hard maple with the pointy leaves instead of the rounded ends?

Patricia, beautiful job you did with PSP.  I have the original version on my old computer with Vista but can't get the later version set up with this Windows 10.  Can't remember who "walked me through" setting up the work space & I even got through 2 of the Steps programs but forgot everything I knew.  Glenn Curtis with his morphs etc., was how I got interested.  Bubble is still the talk of my family, how she put together some photos of my gr-mother that died when my mother was 7.  Photos never seen by any of the family.

Thanks to all posting, made my day!  Shirley

Jean, just scrolled back & remembered I didn't mention your gr-son... he looks so much like my oldest great grand!  Neat car but extra cute kid.  We had a Hillman Minx when we lived in England, bought from one of the AF guys that was coming back to the States. He had ordered it with American steering wheel side but couldn't afford to bring it back, he said.  We discovered it had many problems & no way to repair.  Had to rock it to start.... I drove the first year on my American driver's license but decided not to take the test to drive after that, gas was rationed because of the Suez Crisis.

Don thanks for the great set of photos and your commentary.  Noted the sign that the guides were to hold their explanations outside.  It would be impressive to visit in silence.

Lindancer

Don, wonderful pictures, thanks for posting.

Good morning.   I had to just make a comment on all  the wonderful pictures since I last looked in here.

Beautiful pictures of Gloria and Rammel's yards.  Snow pictures are very pretty, and glad we didn't get that much snow this  last storm that came up the coast.

And, very impressive pictures from Don.  It must give people a very spiritual l feeling to be able to attend Mass in the grotto church.   Would love to see it in person.  Looking forward to more interesting pictures from Don.

And, Jean, your grandson is so cute,.  I can imagine he is hoping that some day he can have a car like that.  A real cutie !!!

Have a good day.

Thanks for your kind responses to my posts. Shirley I would be honoured to share my pictures and posts. I'd send you an autograph if I knew how :D

Enjoyed all the photos so much.  Love those snow scenes but glad I can just look.  Had enough snow in years gone by.

Mary Ann

Don, very interesting pictures of a place I'll never see.  I'm looking forward to more.

Jean, I'm with you on enjoying the snowy pictures, but I sure don't miss it!  Six years of snow that covered most of our homes in Maine was enough.

Bubble, now you tell me! :(     I used the sharpening, some tonal adjustments and tweaked the white balance. I think I used noise removal before the tonal changes but had to go back and resharpen. I first tried the smart fix, but each time I tweaked a setting, the program changed everything else that I didn't want.

Don, your photos are amazing! To be able to see the work of artists hundreds of years ago and then be able to show it to us, thousands of miles away is beautiful!

Thank you, Don.... you can always sign the photos!!     I love history and found England fascinating.... but even deeper roots and feelings for where you are right now.  How I envy you!  Bubble, it is a dream world you live in, we are impressed with 100 year old places and buildings.  Thanks for sharing......NOT just an expression!

Just a FWIW  -  That pic was taken at night with the available light from a street light.  Those lights are LED lights and quite white compared to the older streetlights.  The camera was a Motorola Android Phone.  Those phones have quite a selections of settings.

Don - Great Pic's.  I always enjoy pics of old Churches, Cathedrals, and the like.  On the rare occasions that I go into New York City I usually spend some time looking up at the varied ornate tops of buildings.  I see much of it as lost art.

Shirley

Rick, I'm glad to see you mention the LED street lights..... I've been saying that about the ones in our neighborhood but nobody else seems to have noticed.  To my eyes they are totally different.

RAMMEL

Shirley,
Our whole City was converted to the LED lights. Several homes around here have outdoor or security lights that are LEDs.  I dislike them. They provide a very bright, but HARSH light.  While they appear white, I wonder how much of the color spectrum they really produce.

Don, thoroughly enjoyed your photos, especially the ones of the church. What a walk back in history to be able to see all the ornate work done with the tools at hand and heavy labour.

Rick, thank you for pointing out the extra urls for others to see on Whispers. Enjoyed your snow covered tree and Patricia did a lovely job on lightening it up! After the last snow fall  trees here were dressed in the same white lace.

Gloria, you did get a fair amount of snow!!I have to admit it looks so pretty :) Love the one with all the coloured birdhouses.

Jean, your grandson is a sweetheart!!!You have a car buff in the making there and a heart stealer too.
