Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

Jack we require a passport to enter the USA, but you don"t need one to enter Canada.

Jane I must confess to a level of pride in what she does

Jane, it was not my intent to question what I understand is a beautiful city.  I did very little travel and was concerned with the language spoken.

Don my son said the same thing, no problem with my getting into Canada, but would have a problem getting back.

JaneS

JACK, that wasn't criticism or any one or anything.  Christy's high school French stood her in good stead and she learned more quickly.  However, that was only half of it.  Her husband was Armenian and his family and friends all spoke Armenian.  So she had a very bright child who grew up learning to speak 3 languages by the time he as 2 or so.  That meant she had to do the same.  What I meant to say was that if it's something we really want (and I wanted this grandson more than I had ever wanted anything else) we just have to jump in and do it.  Maybe you just didn't want to go to Montreal as much as I did and that's OK.

Also, most of the service people in Montreal understand and can communicate in English.  I don't think I met anyone there who didn't know any English.

DON, I think you have to confess to a very high "level" of pride in our Bubble.  She deserves it!

You all make me blush.  I don't do anything special, and any way I love books... You should see my collection of Science-fiction at home!

To me the highlight of any city village is the market square. I prefer the open air ones, but the indoor ones are nice as well.

Whoo!  I'm learning a lot from your visit!  Making my own would be nice but thank you for helping me to "see" it long distance.

I loved Montreal!  Such a beautiful clean city with attractively dressed and courteous people.  The times I was there I never had a problem communicating.  I took French in college but have very little speaking ability with it.  The minute I said anything the person I was speaking to immediately switched to English...even in old Quebec.

Bubble and Don, I am enjoying "armchair traveling" through your photos and comments.  I would go amok in the Cheese Shop......or in any of the market places!

Bubble, I remember 'way back, when we were all learning PSP, that you mentioned a French Library but I envisioned it as small with just a few shelves.  I had no idea the scope of it until I saw Don's photos.  I am very impressed with your capabilities and even more so with how you find the time to do all that you do.

Good morning! Don and Bubble, I am becoming greedy for these photos and insights into a land I would have loved to visit! A friend here visits often, and she loves Israel but spends more time in Ashdod where she has a family. I understand it is a port city with lovely beaches, but that is about all. Thank you for these photos, both last years and now!

I'm accustomed to traveling back and forth through Canada to visit the states. Actually, we have more in common with Yukon and British Columbia than the other states as the climate, geography, and people more closely resemble ours. However, the borders are not as loose as they were in the fifties or sixties.

Bubble, I can relate to that funny youtube!  :)

Farrah, when she has wet food, is a very messy eater and for some reason, even when repeatedly asked to, she never puts her toys back when done with them!  ;)

Here, it's the doggies who don't listen.  I keep telling them to close the door after they come in and they keep ignoring me.

I know, Jane...they just don't listen!   >:(    :)

Mary Ann

I'd like it if Kendrick would answer the doorbell, but he just ignores it.

The doggies don't even need doorbells!  They announce (loudly) cars or people on foot in the driveway.  I refer to them as my EWS (Early Warning System).  My daughter once told me "You don't need a door bell.  You have a doordog!

Jane, we call Duck, Cathie's Black Lab the "Neighborhood Watch" dog :).  His favorite place to lay is by the front window where he can watch portions of three streets.  He lets us know loudly if anything is out of the ordinary or as we say "if a leaf drops". :)

Last night Bubble and I went on a date to a wonderful music recital chaperoned, of course, by her daughter Ily.(you can't be too careful these days.)
It's a moderate size auditorium in the main library and ideal for such intimate gatherings.

We were seated off to the right of the stage which made it difficult to get pictures of the performers: 2 sopranos, a tenor and an 11-year old piano virtuoso whose praises I can't sing high enough.

Don and Bubble, enjoying your photos.  You are making lovely memories.

angelface555

I agree with everyone, Don and Bubble, great pictures of the three of you,Ily is lovely! That must have been a wonderful evening!

JeanneP

DandB. Looks like the concert had a full crowd. Great picture of the 3 of you. Frame it Donfor home. she is such a pretty lady. Smile like bubble.

Great photos....  I'm trying to remember a photo you posted long ago of you (Bubble) and sisters.  Ily looks more like your sister than you, doesn't she?  What a nice lady she is to chaperone you two and smile like that!  My sons do the same for me when we go to Colorado..... great to have kids we enjoy being with, huh?

Don, long time ago you showed us a close up of a cane, is that the same one?  I think I've mentioned that when camping/hiking our eyes are always searching for interesting "sticks" that we can carve for canes while sitting around the campground.  My youngest son has produced some really interesting ones but the oldest would rather keep the fire going with sticks he hauls back!  I have all sizes & always carry one that is about as tall as I am (think it would be called a staff), when going down to the river to steady myself when climbing down the last bank to what was the river bed but water has shifted & left a long beach that has grown lots of willows that the beaver munch off to rebuild it's den.

Better go hike down to the river before it gets any later.  Had one fish return last night so will take a few slices of bread to remind them where to come when I whistle.  The stay in deeper water all winter.  Night before last all 3 cats stopped about half way down the hill and watched something they could see but I couldn't.. all 3 heads were turned the same direction, whatever it was they were not going on down to tangle with it.  My "staff" gives me an advantage if needed.  :knuppel2:

Don-Bubble...
...I only have one criticism...looking around the seated audience I cant see one smiling, excited to be there, or happy looking face, apart from yourself, Bubble and Ily, with the biggest smiles ever...but why did no one else look happy and looking so serious...two ladies sitting behind you are looking rather bored, especially at what they were there to soon be seeing and hearing...Of course, this is just my observation...
I so agree, the photo of the three of you is special, please frame it...

Jackie, just one thing further to your comment: Bubble, Illy and I are the only young people in the hall.  lol

Don...
...of course, I should have mentioned that... ;D

...now can you both pass me through one those mouth watering macaroons?

Shirley, you made reference to my cane and I believe it's the same one that I'm using now. These are some close-ups|
