Oldiesmann: Relevant links can be found in topics in the Homemaking, Food & Garden board. I'll see about moving them over to articles here when I get a chance.

Oldiesmann: Found them. They're on the CP site: https://www.christianphotographers.com/recipes/recipeindex.html

Oldiesmann: I'm not finding anything related to recipes on the site. I'll do some digging through the Internet Archive and see if I can dig them up. It's possible that got lost in the big server crash back in 2016

Very interesting info Angel.  Thanks!

Amy

Patricia, thank you for the urls. The chocolate lily is beautiful. Enjoyed looking at the flowers of Alaska too. Saw some that looked like Forget Me Nots, I have some of those planted on Buddy and Sassy's graves with hopes the flowers spread.

Jack ,great capture...doesn't look as if they are scared.

Beautiful picture of the Lily of the Valley.  My mom had a big bed of them and they always seemed to bloom right on my birthday.....May 7.  If I remember correctly,  they didn't really last that long.  But, what a pretty arrangement they would make when a bunch of them were all grouped together in a vase with the big green leaves all around them.

Jean,  I order my groceries online from Walmart  and my last order I had ordered a package of 2 tomatoes, not paying much attention to what they were.  It was a pretty picture of them and 2 tomatoes were just enough for me.  When I got my order,  I was totally surprised at the size of these 2 tomatoes.  As it turned out, they were beefsteak tomatoes and were so good.  Didn't pay any attention to where they were from. One slice covered the whole slice of bread.  I had mayonnaise , tomato and cheese sandwiches for almost a week .  Didn't have any lettuce or bacon, but they were still good.  I usually buy Romaine lettuce and I don't like that on a sandwich.  I did use the smaller end pieces of the tomato with the Romaine in a salad.

Amy, Forgetmenots grow wild everywhere and are Alaska's state flower.

Amy

Patricia, thank you for jogging my memory, I should have realized as when we were in Alaska I bought a plate with forget me nots on it for a friend .

Scattered showers this evening, got caught at the park, but on my return home here was my view.

Jack, beautiful sky!! You met a nice scene.

Shirley

What a gorgeous home coming, Jack!  One of those special moment when we just go... "ahhhhhhhhhhh".  Glad you had a camera ready, probably the phone?  Good job, hard to catch those rainbow colors but you did.

Tom slept on my bed & thought it time to go out so I had to come check radar... "rain starting in one minute"... He is terrified of storms but I'm not seeing lightning or hearing thunder but have rain all around with plenty to come no matter which direction it goes. Right now it seems to be moving north out of Oklahoma.  We need it so no complaint from me. Back to bed for me.

...is it our fur - babies or that pot of gold I see in that far corner?...There is something magical about our rainbows...

jackwv

Sato, Shirley and Jackie thanks.   It was great timing and I did not want to drive out for a better spot.   Had the good camera in the car. and hope someday to see the Rainbow Bridge Jackie.

Vanilla-Jackie

Jack wv...
...yes me too...it will sure be worthwhile the wait...

Shirley

Jack, "in my world" at the end of that rainbow bridge will be all the animals that I've been feeding all my life... now isn't that a nice smiley thought?

Going to get a few more zzzzzzzzzs since the lawn guy called to say he'd be here tomorrow instead of today.  We were told it would be raining off & on all night but my rain gauge shows none, more showers off & on today, cloudy right now, cats all fed & sleeping~~~ I need to cut down the iris & other dry flower stalks to put in the dumpster, enough room for some, anyway.  Maybe later.

Jackie and Shirley, there should be a crowd.  Want to see Family, friends and fur babies.

Posting for Jane

This is Great Granddaughter Emma at 3 1/2 months.

[attachimg=1]

Shirley

Janie!!! Emma is the "spittin' image" of you!  Tell me that is so.... I even flipped back to you avatar & think so.  What a doll.... I've said it before but will repeat, I do believe I've enjoyed these greats more than I did my grands.  Maybe because I have more time to really look at them & grin at their charms.

Jack, like you, I have a big family waiting as well as a whole circus full of critters from birds, chickens, dogs, ducks & now cats. I would hope they all get along, you think?  Cats woke me up so I had to check radar to see if storms ever moved this direction.  Looks like they are moving west & east of us so will let them go out & I will go back to sleep.

Amy

Jane, what a beautiful doll Emma is...you must be so proud of her!

Shirley I do believe your right she does look like Jane . Like you and Jack I to have a big welcoming committee. Family and all my pets from days gone by, without any pain now.

JaneS

She is a little doll!  But I think she looks like her mother's baby pictures and Allison is herself.  She has some physical attributes from some of us but when we looked at her over the years, someone would always say, "Who does she look like?"  She has always been "herself" and I couldn't wish more for Emma!

Jane, what a cutie!  You are blessed to have a great grand-daughter.  I'm 81 now and my grandchildren (all young men) are not married and probably won't be for a while.  The 2 younger ones are brothers and still in college.  The oldest is a step-grand and was the only one for about 5 years.

Mary Ann

Jane, Emma looks so alert as she takes in whatever is outside the window.  Norm's great-grands are now 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 (three of them - twins and a single).  They are such fun from 3 1/2 months to 2 1/2 years (yours and Norms).

We used to be one of those once...babies...

Jane S...your Emma is another " pick up and cuddle..."

I am wondering what she has her eyes focussed on, something she is finding interesting...

JeanneP

Emma, a cutie. Now babies look so much older . Seems we  had ours just laying flat in cribs at 3 half months.  Being careful holding them. Now so alert so young.
