Domestic Goddess: Is this correct, if one would like to post/share a recipe, we do so here?  If so, was searching to see if there were separate recipe categories?

FlaJean

We finally got moved in and having my first cup of coffee in our new digs in Niceville Fl.  Will be getting internet Sat.  Thanks Sato for telling me about the new registration.  We already love it here.  Still lots of boxes to unpack.

so_P_bubble

Welcome Flajean.  I am glad you succeeded and made it :)

jackwv

Jean will give you time to unpack but will be looking for some photos from you and Larry.   Welcome also to your new home in S&F

Shirley

I seem to be missing out on some posts and just now see where Sachiko is in the hospital.  So sorry to read that and am curious about what procedure she is in for, any other information, Sato?  If you have an opportunity to visit with her, will you please give her my sincere Best Wishes for a speedy recovery?  I got to view your video & left a message on that site after having quite a time coming up with my password for Vimeo again!  Beautiful shot of the cherry blossoms today, what camera did you use?

Hey, Bubble, you've been a great help to all of us this week, finding our way back.  How's that little boy now, any new photos of him?  Something about him reminds me of my oldest son, the dark curly hair but also that "oh so innocent but ornery" look.

I have not had my "night" of sleep, less than 4 hours, so will work in a nap today.  Have a good one, everyone!

Sato

Jean, glad you finally got moved in and now back in the S & S forum.  After unpacking, send us the photos at your new place.  Look forward to seeing them.

Joy

Jean,  I have been thinking about you and wondering when you were going to move.  So, I am happy to read that you are already in your new place.  Like Jack said,  we will be waiting to see lots of pictures from that area.   Since I have never heard of Niceville before,  I had to look it up.  Wow!  You are really close to the water now.  Big change from where you came from.   Do you like the beach?  I would love to live that close to the beach.  I wish you and Larry so much good luck in your new place. I know you are happy to be a lot closer to your daughter now.  Should make for some happy times together.   Wishing you many years of happiness !

I, too, am so sorry that Sachiko is not well. She has not been around for quite a while now.  I hope that she has not been in the hospital all that time.  Hope that she will soon be well enough to get back here.  She surely is missed.

Sato, if you talk to her, be sure to let her know that everyone really misses her and to get well soon.

Joy

Sato

Shirley and Joy, honestly saying I don't know much about her health conditions.  She hasn't given us precise informations.  She told us that she suffered a heart illness and would be in hospital until the middle of April.  She lives now in a city which is around 600 kilometers away from Yokohama.  We hope she will get well soon.

As for my camera, it is CANON EOS 6D.  It does good jobs.

Jean,  as I wrote in my message above,  I had to look up Niceville, as I had never heard of that town before.  We've been pretty much all over the state of FLorida, abut never spent any time up in the Panhandle.

However, after doing some looking around,  I read that Niceville is a very Nice little town.

Noticed a lot of places that we will sure be looking forward to hearing about.

Turkey Creek Nature Trail

Air Force Museum,  ( which is free)

Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park

Heritage Museum

Just to name a few that I read about. I am sure you will find lots more interesting places.

So, hurry up and get those boxes unpacked and get those cameras ready and get your "traveling" legs moving !!!

(I hope you know that I am just kidding around with you )  I do a lot of "Armchair traveling" these days.

Have a great day.

Bubble, I tried to follow your directions on posting a picture in the gallery. I do not see anything called a BB Code. A picture did get posted-somehow- that I did not want to post, and I can't get rid of it. I click on edit, and nothing gives me a chance to delete this picture. This is the picture I would like posted by my name. /Users/marjorydrabek/Desktop/june.jpg

As long as we are here, let's dance.

so_P_bubble

June, I have no way to see a picture that is on the desktop of your computer.

But if you go to the gallery, click on "add picture" then on the bottom you will see Upload Picture:     browse.
Click on that and search "desktop" then write the name of your picture.
After that, click on add picture.  It will be saved in the Gallery.  I'll help for the next step when you decide which discussion you want it to be.

Shirley Aviv was Peter Pan again this Purim festival (2 weeks ago) and he is as mischievous  as ever.

Shirley

Oh, Bubble, he still looks like my oldest son (no photos of him on this computer).... darling young man & know how much you enjoy him.  Thanks for posting the photo.

Jean, I missed out on your move.... looks like you are not far from Fort Walton Beach, a place we stopped on our last visit to FL.  I had discovered there was a mock up of Monet's gardens at Ft.Walton so found a campground near, maybe it was a state park?  We finally found the Monet garden place, closed & only a "sort of" bridge with pots of plants on either side.  The online info said they sold seeds of flowers like in those French gardens... only a deserted grounds.  We did get out of the car & walk around & I took a few photos to remind me that "next time" be sure to check on line just when those sites were posted!  It was a nice campground & interesting landscape.... saw lots of water lilies along the way.  I will be watching for your photos & videos along with Joy & the rest of the gang in here!

Sato, have you given up on our Panasonic Lumix cameras?  I think your wife was using a Canon & did a wonderful job of taking photos of flowers.  You are right, your Canon did a beautiful job!

Really need a nap, cats are fed and outside.  Mama Callie still has not come back (2 days), I asked the man that lives 2 houses away, has a German Shepherd, if he had taken his dog down to "my" landing, I've seen big dog prints in the sand for 2 days & the cats have been aware of something I don't see, both heads turn & stare at the same spot & when I look where they do, I don't see a thing.  Could be the coyote is back, fox don't make that large of print in the sand.  Even the local eagle or osprey could have gotten Callie, or locked in someone's garage.  When a feral cat is in a garage & someone is at the door, they just freeze & don't blink... Could easily have been locked in for days.  When I left Tom & Tiger home over Thanksgiving first year I had the new RV, Tiger was missing for days after I got home.  I'm sure she was trapped in a garage & had to wait until the owner came home after the holidays. Time will tell.

jackwv

Nice day at the park and took about a dozen photos.   We have our Slide show and home video discussion open again so check there for a short one with the photos.

Sato

Shirley, I've never given up my Panasonic Lumix.  Tomorrow I'll bring it when walking around the cherry blossom spots.  My wife was a Canon camera user, but now she is into an OLYMPUS OM-D camera which she thinks is powerful and small, convenient to carry.

Where did Spring go, had several inches of snow overnight, pretty but would prefer Spring.   :(

so_P_bubble

Jack, hard to believe that this photo was taken in April.  It looks lovely as a picture for New Year!

Joy

Jack, we lucked out with the snow, but the wind is really still blowing.   Last night, there was all kinds of weird weather.  So windy, lightening, thunder, rain,  and lots of power outages this morning.  Luckily my power stayed on.

Beautiful picture, but sure not welcomed this 3rd day of April.  Hopefully, it won't hang around very long.

Bubble and Joy, I have already mowed the lawn twice, looked great, fortunately to warm up a bit today so no snow shovel, but more wind and cold coming.

so_P_bubble

In US it seems  people are or mowing or shoveling. What a never ending chore.
We are lucky here...

Sandy

So P,  Aviv is so cute all
dressed up like Peter Pan.

Jack,  what a pretty home you have,
even covered a bit with snow!

Thanks Sandy.  Yes. the costume suits him and we bought a sword for him to fight against Captain Cook.  That made him very happy, as he said he would also use it against the crocodiles.  I did not remember any crocs in the story.

Sandy thanks, we moved here in 1964 and still my home.

We made a few changes to raise our two, here is a present photo.   I am now here with just Jessie my 15 year old Golden.   I spend most of my time with her and the computer in the family room addition.   My daughter wants me to move with her but so long as I have my health I want my independence.  Have the same Church, good neighbors, and a handful of doctors.

FlaJean

Jack, the snow does look pretty.  This climate is a little cooler than Ocala which suits us just fine.

Joy, I enjoyed your note.  I know how you enjoy looking up areas so I thought I would tell you that we live a few streets from the Rocky Bayou State Park and Recreation Area.  We live in the Blue Water Bay Area east of the Rocky Bayou Bridge and just out of the city limits.  Will take some photos when we get more settled.

jackwv

Jean so sorry you have to put up with cooler temps in the new home.   Looks like a great view in every direction, eager to see your photos.

Sandy

Jack I think that  you are
wise in choosing to stay as long
as you can in your family home....
with your  pooch and good neighbors.

I enjoy your photography.

Goodness. We got such high winds and storms but nothing like that Jack. Would have prefer it as my yard such a mess. Hundreds of limbs down. Will get very little shade on the South side this summer.

Wonder if GD got snow in Connecticut.

Putting the link to the Eagle Cam in Washington DC.  Great view of mom and two chicks.  If you go there click on cam b then full screen.  The limb is moving with the wind and the two poor chicks must be cold, but for now mom not sitting on them.

Jack, that looks like such a big home.  Did you have many children?
I love the Bay Window.  Does it have a ledge seat to it?

jackwv

Bubble the original home was living room, dining room and small kitchen.  Upstairs 3 bedrooms and one bath.   We added the large family room with a full bath.  Really not a seat at the bay window, but large area for plants.  I had added a game room in the basement but without questioning my unprofessional work Shirley suggested the addition.  Had 2 children, Shirley had only one sister, and I scared her coming from a family of 10 children.   By the way, talk about hard times, imagine growing up with 6 sisters and only one bathroom.
